Rosa was very attentive to our every need and want, along with great ideas and suggestions. We also order the table side guacamole and it was on point! My son normally doesn't eat guacamole, but one taste of the one Rosa made it couldn't stop. Never going to this place again. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! This was the worst dining experience I've had in years. THE WAITER LITERALLY IGNORED US NEARLY THE ENTIRE TIME! Appx. 5 mins. after being seated, he showed up and said he'd be back. He later came to take drink orders and left. Somehow my water came out after everyone's margaritas. He never told us his name, nor the specials, etc. We went for their "National Fajitas Day" so we we confused as to whether that was going on or not, given there were no signs and the waiter never gave us a proper introduction. We had to ask about it multiple times because he made it seem like it was a hassle to properly answer the question the first 2 times we asked. Empty bowls of chips and salsa stacked on the table and the waiter thought it would be a great idea to keep adding to the table instead of taking things away. So of course I had to start doing his job of trying to clear the table. The food did not come out together and was originally missing items. By the time we had gotten the rest of the food, we also go more crappy service so I was ready to go. I got to go boxes and and more crappy service with that request. I couldn't take it anymore and left while the rest of my dinner party sorted the bill out whenever they saw the waiter again. I can't lie... this is just not one of my preferred El Torito locations even though it boasts of beautiful brick arches. (I love brick as it reminds me of structures in Savannah, Georgia, where I used to spend my summers as a child.) It's just darker than the other locations I prefer. I like the one on Redondo Beach Pier and then Manhattan Beach. This is a very large location. The service has been nice. The food doesn't taste quite like the other two locations I mentioned but it's not bad. I think it's just the lighting. The parking here is just okay. It shares the parking lot with a CVS and 99 cent store so it's always pretty busy. But I've never had to park extra far. I'm sorry, this location... He obviously wasn't a fan of a black woman being a patron at Mexican restaurant and you could completely tell by his actions. He barley spoke, left no menu on the table until 30 mins after I ordered a drink from the happy hour menu and wouldn't open his mouth to speak. He bought my check out prematurely when I was ready to order another drink and the food was very underwhelming. Extremely poor service!!!! It was a Saturday night, late (around 10pm). I was so hungry and so excited to order food and pick it up. I called from El Segundo, before making the 10-14 minute drive, and a man answered and asked me to wait 1-2 minutes. So, I waited. 4 minutes. 6 minutes. 8 minutes. Finally I hung up. I called back and a woman answered and was kind and apologetic and she took my order. But, a few minutes later, when I arrived, she was still inputting my order - meaning I'd have to wait still another 15-20 minutes even tho I tried to order ahead. I decided to complain and asked to speak to the manager. As it turns out, he was the one who took my first call. He actually told me that he picked up the line after one minute, lied right to my face. He didn't apologize and only suggested that I was wrong. So, I left. Now I'm at Johnny Rockets. I came to El Torito's for the birthday of my 90year old mother-in-law. The cost was $30.00 per person. The cost was to cover the buffet, breakfast bar, soft drinks and bottomless mimosas In reality, although the restaurant was not crowded except for our party of 50, The food kept running out and was not replenished in a timely manner. The servers after taking initial drink orders never returned for refills. The service was so bad that I had to go to the galley twice to get our sever who disappeared for 15 minutes at a time I have to mention that we in our party of 50 are black. I'm pleased every time I set foot in this El Torito! I've come for date night with the Mrs and she was delighted with her food! Tonight happens to be her mother 69th birthday and the staff has been wonderfully accommodating! Our server Aubrey has been extra attentive and will certainly get the tip she deserves! We ordered from here a couple days ago the a Family Fajitas and Guacamole. What the pics looked like and what came was way different. There was so little food that we barely had enough for just the two of us. The Fajitas was almost $25, the guacamole almost $12. The guacamole portion was the size of one guacamole. One of most visited spots probably. I come here with family all the time. Usually to celebrate and event. The space is large and they have space to accommodate a large group of guests. The service is usually spot on. We were greeted immediately upon reaching the front doors. The hosts grabbed the menus and proceeded to seat us. Our server came in and instructed himself. He also brought the whole table waters and said he would come back once we were ready to order. He came back when we were ready. We decided the share the fajitas which were huge. The place came super hot and all the flavors came together nicely. We also got several baskets of chips and salsa on the house. The chips were hot as they were coming out. I've been to the fisherman's village location in marina del rey, that location is a bit nicer but I like the food and drinks at this restaurant. Expect to spend some dough but you'll be full and have leftovers. Beer is cold and perfect with the complimentary chips and salsa. Their salsa is one of my faves, so dang good. I like the combo plates where you can try 2-3 different things. I got the chicken enchilada and chicken flautas. It comes with rice, beans and scoop of sweet corn. Loved the rice and beans. Flautas comes with this awesome sweet sauce, I could've done without the white sauce on top, but no bigs. They're crunchy and delicious. The chicken enchilada was fine, just felt like bbq sauce was poured on top. The whole plate goes well together. I tried my companions chille relleno, it's not breaded and has some spice to it. I liked everything I ate. Also, had a patron margarita,its served in a tall glass, easy to drink, a little sweet for me. The mud pie was my least favorite. Did not like the chocolate sauce and whip cream, thankfully they were both on the sides. They had cinnamon and an odd taste. The cookie crust is a big hard chunk of dry chocolate, not crumbly at all. Ice creams were fine but I would pass for a similar dessert elsewhere. As mentioned, I've been to this establishment in other locations and multiple times, so shout out for a great Mexican chain restaurant. Glad there's this location also. read more

I will never come back.... LIKE EVER! Ordered a simple tostada salad and a trio mahi mahi taco plate. Lets start with the taco plate -- EVERYTHING WAS COLD and the fish tasted VERY FISHY and slimy. The smell was so LOUD, I had to throw the entire meal away in the outside trash bin. Completely unsatisfactory. Chicken Tostada- CAME IN A FOIL PAN FROM THE 99 CENT STORE NEXT DOOR with cheap foil sheets on top which wasn't even properly covered. Half of my salad was exposed. Everything was cold including the beans and the chicken. I mean COLD! I would assume that if people are paying nearly 20 bucks for a salad the food would be fresh, right well apparently not. The chicken tasted like they cooked it earlier and it was just sitting in the cooler. Everything was so cold and thick, it gave me indigestion. They gave me three very sad dressing containers. They were half full. I ordered the food at 5:50pm and picked it up at 6:10pm. The rep over the phone advised me to give 20-30mins.... Just terrible! The entire experience was terrible. UPDATE- I contacted the manager twice (as requested privately) after his initial response and I haven't gotten a response yet. Then I noticed he offered his email to me after pubically accusing me of blocking him, which I haven't. I am receiving his messages but he isn't receiving mine (which kind of proves who has blocked who. Furthermore, I sent him an email with my contact information on the day it was offered. I still have NOT received a response. UP UPDATE- I emailed the manager and we conversed. He mailed me vouchers to try their food again. The booths are so filthy, they are black! It's crazy because they are normally many bright colors. The floors look like they haven't been swept or deep cleaned in a while!! The restaurant was clean the waitress was good. The drinks needs some severe help. The drinks we ordered were pretty much juice. The shot that came with it had some type of sweet syrup in it. She asked how everything was and I told her about the untouched drink. Her solution was to put more margarita mix in it. Smh child no!
