    breakfast burrito, banana chocolate pancakes

this place was attached to irwin's moutain inn so it was an easy place for breakfast for us to go into from the lobby. it was pretty good but honestly had more expensive price point and i probably wouldn't go again. breakfast burrito: 7/10 - it was an extra $3 for my sausage but it was one tiny sausage that only took up half my burrito so i was done w the sausage in 2 bites and the rest was just the burrito. the burrito was just okay. chocolate pancakes: 10/10 - the combo of the flavors blended so well. sweetness was amazing and such a great flavor after the burrito. the service was very friendly and let us join for breakfast even if we came late. the ambiance was very cozy because it was snowing outside and we sat by the window. it was nice for breakfast.

Definitely not a Mexican restaurant, I'd say it's more of a pub. Their Mexican food takes up like 10% of their menu. Staff is friendly but didn't have much menu knowledge. We received 15% off our takeout order by checking in on Yelp. I asked how big the chicken enchiladas were and the bartender said it's a decent size with 3 pieces. When I opened my takeout box i was wondering why they called this dish enchiladas. They looked more like frozen taquitos that were microwaved and thrown under a bed of shredded lettuce. The "enchiladas" comes with salsa, sour cream, guac, Spanish rice & refried beans. I'd say the sides are more edible than the main. We were here on Wing Wednesday and ordered their special: 1lb wings + draft beer for $10.99. They advertised 13 flavours but couldn't tell us which flavours they had and didn't have it written on their wing menu so we went with our fave: honey garlic. The wings were actually not bad. It was a decent size and came with a side salad (lettuce, red onion, yellow pepper). I would not come here again, but if you must dine here, DO NOT order any of the dishes under their "Mexican Corner."

We loved the food, the drinks, great service, and the dessert was delicious! We had the ice cream trio and the ice cream nachos.

My favorite breakfast in Banff, just because of the ham - bone in ham steak from a local supplier is not overly salty and super tender. Worth a trip!

The staff were nice and service was prompt but the food was garbage! Overpriced crap on a fancy plate.

The chateaubriand for 2 is a steal at $75. Service was great. Food was delicious. I highly recommend El Toro.

Perfectly cooked, insanely flavorful, and worth every dollar. It's also dope that they let you choose your own steak knife, which adds to the whole experience. The sides were just as good: the milk bread is dangerously good, the broccolini is cooked perfectly, and the potatoes are rich and comforting. Service was outstanding. Adam was hands-down a big reason the night was so good -- he helped with drink recommendations, set the tone, and really tied the entire dinner together. And do not skip dessert -- the 1888 Sundae is absolutely worth it. I could honestly eat two by myself. Great food, great service, would 100% come back.

We ordered the scallop dish which arrived quickly but it's not a filling dish. While we were waiting, we decided to order the milk bread so that we could eat it while we wait for the main course. The milk bread also took long to arrive though. I like that they can make any drink here. This place had the best espresso martini I tried while I was in Banff. They just can't make a pina colada because they don't have a blender. I highly recommend the ribeye. You get a lot of meat for what you pay and it was delicious. There's not a strict dress code enforced. You can dress up or be casual. I wouldn't recommend dressing too casual but I did see people arrive in very casual outfits such jeans, knit sweaters and a santa hat.

The wait staff was pleasant knowledgeable and accommodating. We were in a large party so we had a semi private dining area. Their specialty cocktails were great and very appealing to the eye in regard to the presentation upon delivery to the table. Very well put together flavour notes hit. The noise level in the restaurant was perfect for socializing so no complaints there. We did have a large party which probably pushed the kitchen staff a bit because some of the plating of a few dishes came out and were not complete ( 2out3 dishes came missing some plating components) when we made a comment to the waiter he went to investigate. They realized the issue and made a course correction on our bills which was appreciated. I hade the pork chops and I'll say the plating presentation was good but the quality of the the chops not so much, now I've worked in the industry in the past so I usually give a wide birth when it comes to the doneness of my proteins. But these were over cooked or seemed to have been cooked from a frozen state because they were dry as an Alberta summer. Not to mention tough and for that reason is why I'm only giving a 3 out of 5. Pork chops should be cooked through but full of juice these definitely missed the mark. The other components of the dish were great cooked proper with a perfect balance of seasoning. I'd come stop in again if I was in town but I'd probably wouldn't get the chops again.

The wait staff was very friendly and informed us that they sold off the main restaurant area to Brokin Yolk and just use their kitchen in the evenings. The food was good but they discontinued their "Trust the Chef" menu the day before so have a very limited a la carte menu with only one vegetarian item that doesn't change (tough for repeat clientele). High end prices for a restaurant with very little ambiance. I think they should focus on catering.
