This place is very cool place to go have dinner. Great outdoor seating but a bit small inside. The service was good, the food even better. I had the el pastor tacos, which was season well but could have used a little less salt. I also ordered plantains. My friend had the shrimp la cruzanna, Which included some greens and beans and rice. She loved her food. It's BYOB in which I didn't know. I can see myself visiting again. It's in the neighborhood and it feels like the owners are of a community mindset. read more

We ate her last night. Every aspect of the experience was outstanding. We called in the mid afternoon and we were able to get a 7:30 reservation. Once we arrived, we asked and we were able to sit outside. The server as well as the owner greeted us and answered a variety of questions regarding the menu. We ordered the blackened salmon mole and the steak.both items were excellent and the steak was cooked exactly as ordered, medium rare! I opted for the other mole on the enchiladas. They were excellent. We brought a bottle of Zinfandel. A $4 charge is more than reasonable. We had the home made key lime pie for desert. It was really good. We also had the opportunity to chat with the owner. She was delightful and very engaging. This place is my wife's new favorite restaurant. Everything about it excellent. We will definitely be back and we will bring others to have a great experience. This place is a must go to restaurant. Great vibe...wonderful food...outstanding service!!! Won't order again sadly...kind of disappointing. So, first of all I ordered despite some negative Fb posts from the neighborhood on mask wearing and derogatory posts by someone affiliated with the restaurant. Lots of people bragged about it though so gave them a shot. Giving 3 stars because the food was fresh and not terrible, but $12 for 3 tacos and a little jicama side salad which honestly you can keep cause I have no interest in side salads when I order tacos. Had to order rice and beans on the side for an extra $6....who doesn't give rice and beans with a taco dinner?! The rice is just plain bland white rice in case you were expecting something more. The pastor is not the type I'm used to or like. I like when it's shaved off the spit and charred on the flattop. There's is just chunks of pineapple with no char. Also not a fan of red onions instead of white on pastor. Food isn't inedible, was packaged nicely and seemed fresh, but definitely not something I'm gonna spend my money on again. read more

Ordered here the first weekend it was open. Carry out only because of Covid. The food was delicious and beautifully presented (even in the plastic take out containers). The guacamole and special shrimp are musts. My husband said "everything was outstanding". Excited to have this addition to the neighborhood and can't wait to dine in once possible. read more

Ordered takeout and it was ready a couple minutes early. Tacos al pastor, quesadillas, and the black mole were both great, very flavorful. Even the side salads were solid. I'm definitely looking forward to trying some other menu items, especially the red mole, on our next visit. read more

This place opened 2 days ago. We got a variety of things and everything was excellent!! We have been hoping for a high quality Mexican place to open near us and we got lucky. The staff is very friendly and the food was superb. We tried Guacamole, Veggie Quesadillas, Traditional Pastor Tacos, Chicken Enchiladas Poblanos, Steak Fajitas and a side of beans. A new local favorite! Already been there twice in a week, the food is so delicious. The Asada Tacos are one of the best I have ever tasted! The chicken tacos are also quite good. Guacamole and chips are solid, as well as the side salads that accompany dinner meals. My wife said that the enchiladas are excellent too. The tacos are a generous size and full of flavor. Tried this on a recommendation from a friend. Well worth the trip for us from the west town area. Service was excellent and the food was even better than advertised. The flautas and guacamole were about as good as any I've ever had. The carne asada was perfectly cooked and the side salad and fried plantains were also just as good. SO excited this place opened in the neighborhood! First chance to try it tonight, and we were thrilled. As a vegetarian, loved seeing several choices on the menu and will have to circle back to try them all. We ordered guacamole, which was sizable and delish. Plantains in mole is the dish I always wanted and didn't know it. Vegetarian Pastor tacos were perfection, and I will crave them in the days to come. Vegetarian enchiladas were also yummy. Wow this meal was so awesome. Got a takeout dinner (Covid times) and it was one of the best to-go meals we've had in a long time. Started with the Mar Negro ceviche, which we absolutely loved - fresh and flavorful, would definitely grab again. Also got a guacamole, which was of course tasty and honestly a good amount for the price. Then had the veggie pastor tacos - as a meat-eater I wouldn't usually think to grab them, but we did and I was thrilled about it. Truly the flavor was on the level of any al pastor taco I've had, and richly textured. Would get those again and not feel I'd compromised anything. Even the little side salad came with a wonderfully spicy dressing. So pleased! And the staff I interacted with were so sweet and friendly. Can't wait to go back. read more

My husband and I moved to Lincoln Square this summer and just finally got around to trying this restaurant - it was fabulous. Oh my goodness! Where do I begin to tell you how wonderful it was? I was greeted with genuine warmth and friendliness when I called to ensure there was seating, when I walked in through the door, and for the duration of my dining experience. I was in the mood for ceviche, and when I saw the presentation I wasn't sure it was exactly what I wanted, but it was heaven from the first bite! The ingredients were super fresh and the sauce was divine. It was the perfect balance of savory, sweet, and a little bit of heat. The mango was a surprisingly pleasant addition as well. So very flavorful! *Chef's kiss* If that weren't enough, I decided to try their veggie enchiladas and added shrimp. They even tweaked the presentation a little bit to make it special for me. :) Delicious again! I was a little worried because I saw habanero on their menu in so many places, which can be pushing the border of my spice tolerance, but it was never even close to too much. Went here for a joint anniversary outing with the in-laws based on a rave recommendation from a very discerning friend. Parking was a bit of a pinch, room is small - 7 or 8 tables - but very inviting ambiance, AC was a little on the cool side. Once we got situated, our host Jennifer fielded our BYOB questions - yes they had glasses, yes they would bring ice buckets, yes they would rim one glass with salt for a margarita - she actually suggested tajin (?) even better. Unbelievable service that held all night. Started with the Mar Negro (shrimp ceviche, outstanding) then followed up with orders for Steak Ranchero (choice of tortillas was "both"), Carne Asada, and Enchiladas (one order chicken, one shrimp). Presentation was superb, preparation excellent, and taste fantastic. Pretty sure this was the least leftovers ever taken home by this crew. Was half expecting Gramps to lick the plate when he finished the shrimp enchiladas. BYOB helped keep the bill very manageable. We will be back! read more

I got the asada tacos and guacamole and they were both fantastic! However, also got a side of rice and beans and unfortunately they were really boring and kind of small portions for being $6 (they were separate and $3 each). My tacos came with a salad that wasn't listed on the menu, and kind of wish it was because I have some allergies I need to keep in mind when ordering (everything was fine, but getting surprise food I don't know the ingredients of is stressful!) I would love to see maybe an option to chose to sub in a different side, maybe? Also, it's pretty spendy when you get down to it. I got the asada tacos, rice and beans, and guacamole and it was about $30. I'm sure I'll crave those asada tacos in the future, just may not be the go-to neighborhood spot I was hoping for. read more

The food was alright but I really wouldn't recommend dining in. Not covid safe in the slightest. Even as the pandemic is winding down, I'd like to see some respect for the personal space of others. When my husband went in to pick up our food and i wait in our car, they had a full house and i spot a few cooks with mask under nose, chips being grabbed with bare hands and served to customers and i even spot a rat run by the front door. not to mention the server talking to my husband multitasking on the phone while people wait. definitely won't be dining in. read more
