We had Elaine's Bread Pudding at Foodieland San Jose and I can swear hands down it's the best thing we put in our mouths the whole time. There was five of us and we all sat on the floor in absolute bliss. Elaine you saved my night and I want to kiss you on the lips. The bananas foster is def the way to go and if you get to meet Derrick tell him we said hi!!! -girl in red

SERVICE: Professional, no issues at all. Staff was kind and helpful. FOOD: I Love bread pudding and love those who love it too. Not too sweet, but sweet enough, and good flavor. WELL: Of course we shall return and support whenever they're at a pop-up or event in our area. Doesn't hurt that they seem like awesome people too! Only minor change would be the labeling on each container so I know which is which from the top. Glad we experienced them.

The best bread pudding and desserts!!! Literally came to them last year at the foodie land festival, ordered them online and had to come back for more again. Please support and buy from them. You will not be disappointed.

My fiancé and I tried this place during this years foodie land. We went on Saturday and were back at it again on Sunday, this bread pudding is just too good to pass up a second time. I recommend trying the sock it to me paired with the vanilla whiskey syrup.

After I realized that not all smoking tigers are the same- some have the fresh baked stuff and the others get it shipped in, it's worth the extra travel to go to the bread factories. I don't think it's fair to review the food since most of it rotates so much, BUT... that buttery flakey crust of the chicken pot pie literally made me want to eat 1000 of them in one sitting. Everything is good. Literally EVERYThING is delicious. Just make sure you ask them to warm it up. Cause who wants a room temp bread when you don't have to live like that. In the time it took to warm up my pot pie, I was able to ask my usual incessant questions which were all answered with super chill and friendly conversation. The people are really sweet and knowledgeable. Always a good experience here.

As a ex Italian barista, this was pulled from a previously used and dead shot. The color and even the flavor did not even resemble a Brazilian/Sumatra blend. Unacceptable, disgusting, and just a plain waste of my time and money. Shame on the women baristas there who were working the machines to do this. I wanted to give this place a try while I was in the area since we have one in Garden Grove. Unfortunately that was a mistake, but fortunately I know not to visit the GG one also.

The Ube Monster is consistently my go to and they seriously know how to do ube right, not just with their drinks but their pastries and desserts too. Personally I think Cafe 86 has one of the best halo halo around. Even compared to a lot of Filipino restaurants and dessert places I've tried, this one stands out. I'd even take their halo halo over Chowking or Red Ribbon. Cafe 86 is basically what I think a modern Filipino halo halo and ube dessert spot should be. Not to mention always friendly staff and super comfy seating. Nice place to chill and catch up for desserts tho a lil small. They've mastered ube here and I love that they're bringing Filipino flavors into more modern drinks and desserts without losing what makes them good in the first place. I go back all the time and will continue to!!

It was nice to learn that they offer both kinds of halo halo in the smaller size. The only new surprise is now they charge extra to change the vanilla ice cream to the Ube ice cream. So this time we went with the original which comes with the Ube ice cream. It was nice they still let us eat in, but as soon as it hit 9:00pm, they went out from the back and told us they were closed and sort of pushed us out as fast as they were able to.

**3 stars -- Helpful info before you go**…read more I was really looking forward to trying this matcha ice cream café, especially since I've been searching for a good matcha-and-ube ice cream experience. The ice cream itself was enjoyable, but a few things about the visit may be helpful for other Yelpers to know in advance. They don't offer samples of the available ice cream flavors, which was surprising since many other ice cream shops do. Also, the flavors listed on Yelp and social media did not seem to reflect what was currently available in-store, so I'd recommend checking directly with the café before visiting if you have a specific flavor in mind. We ordered a Level 1 matcha and a mango waffle cone. The flavor options for mixing also appear to depend on what they have already prepared and available that day. There were no pastries available during our visit either. Service was a bit underwhelming, but hopefully the café can improve communication around current flavors, samples, and daily offerings. I'll continue my search for that ideal matcha-ube ice cream combination, but this could still be worth a stop if you're flexible and simply craving matcha ice cream.

They have two ordering kiosks, which I love because you can take your time, look at the menu with pictures, and not feel rushed. The workers are always nice and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. My absolute favorite is the Twin snow mountains. I'm obsessed with the vanilla frost -- it's like chewing ice that's perfectly flavored with vanilla. The vanilla and matcha ice cream blend together really well, and pairing that with the grass jelly and strawberries is chef's kiss. My only tiny wish is that the strawberries were cut into smaller pieces so I could get one in every bite, but honestly I'll gladly do it myself. I come here all the time just for this dessert. It's my go-to and never disappoints.

Parking: They're located in a high foot traffic plaza, so finding a parking spot can be difficult. Ambiance/Environment: They have a small space with a decent amount of indoor seating. The tables and seats were kept clean. There's cute decor from the ceiling as well. This is the type of spot where you'd bring your family with younger kids for something sweet, while the adults sit and talk. When we visited, my family and one other family pretty much took up all the tables lol. Service: There was only one worker behind the counter serving and making the drinks and desserts. She doesn't acknowledge anyone. It wasn't too busy, but throughput took a while since she was by herself. There's two kiosk to order from. You don't really interact with the worker until she brings out your order. Desserts & drinks: We ordered a mixture of almost everything. We noticed there were a few menu items that were out of stock. I ordered a mango pamelo sago, my sister ordered a brown sugar boba milk tea, my cousin ordered an americano, and my other cousin ordered a strawberry & cream eggette. I thought the mango pamelo sago was okay; the mango flavor was lacking except for the actual mangos. There was plenty of sago, but I thought this dessert was underwhelming. My sister thought the boba was okay bc it had an interesting texture, and the drink itself was lightly sweet than what she's used to. My cousin thought the coffee was okay. The only thing we all enjoyed was the eggette. It's a bubble waffle with ice cream and fresh fruits, which is pretty difficult to mess up. Pricing: Prices are pretty high for the portions offered. Overall, the desserts were underwhelming and some didn't meet our expectations. The eggettes are most likely the only thing we'll come back for.
