The only reason I gave this place 3 stars instead of 1 or 2 is because of Kim. I never had a bad experience with her. She was very gentle and was very good at making sure I liked my nails every step of the way. I'll also say, their prices can't be beaten. It seems like they've stayed the same for a very long time ($20 for a full acrylic set, $15 for a fill) which leads me into my next point. The last time I went (about a week ago), I was getting a full set because money had been a bit tight so I stopped going for a bit. Instead of Kim, my appointment had been made with the man that works there. I did not catch his name, unfortunately, but he was skinny, older, and Asian. I had an awful experience. He was extremely rough when filing the top of the nail; he was using a rough emery board and using it on the top of my nail, and he kept filing my cuticle and the skin under my nail!! After the appointment I had little red raw patches underneath my nails, and one finger even had a small open wound that wasn't there before, like a scratch. Also, I don't know what he did differently than Kim, but my polish is already starting to wear off on the tops and edges of my nails after a week. I've never had that happen, and I used the same polish and everything. Then when it came time to pay, I pulled out my cash. (Tip: They do accept cards, but grudgingly. Bring cash). I had budgeted $25 ($20 for the set and a $5 tip). After how rough he was on my hands, I felt like he really didn't deserve a tip at all, but I support supporting small businesses. He told me it would be $23 for a full set, which seemed odd to me because just a month ago it was $20, and from what I've seen, their prices NEVER change. Also, the price list on their wall and in their brochure still states $20. So I said okay, and apologetically told him I would have to do a $2 tip then, as I had only budgeted $25 and I really couldn't exceed that. I reiterated that twice and it seemed to me that he understood that. He took my cash, gave me my change, I went and dried my nails, and was on my merry way. Once I got home I was counting my cash and realized something seemed off. I went over all my transactions and realized that he had taken a $5 tip despite me telling him only $2. That, in addition to my suspicion that he raised the price on me all of a sudden, have ensured that I will not be going back here. Very disappointed. I was happy to be supporting a small business but not if they cheat their customers. read more

I've been here probably around 10 times. I see Mot every time and he always does a phenomenal job. They always give their clients a bottle of water and are very efficient and friendly. They always have something on their big TV in the corner. It's more of a homey environment- the curtains are typically closed when I come in because the sun sets right in the window. The only semi-negative thing I have to say (which doesn't really effect me) is the countertops can be a little dusty. However, they always use fresh paper towels over the surfaces and always use fresh files and sanitized tools. You really can't beat this place for the price. I'll continue to go here as long as I'm living in the area! read more

First time at this salon after trying others. Had Mai doing my nails and was impressed how much time she took as the previous place messed up my nails. She kept asking if I liked the shape of my mails and if she should add another coat. I was so impressed I stayed for a pedicure. Her prices are reasonable. I'm still here and want to leave. I've been here for over an hour and a half for a full set and don't even have polish on my nails. This guy is so slow. I got up to go to the bathroom, came back and ALL of my stuff is moved to a different station. That's a big pet peeve of mine. Don't touch my shit without telling me. Come here if you want some bomb nails!! I got a pedicure for the first time with my friend here and I loved it. Less than an hour we were there, the salon started filling up with ladies and it's easy to see why. The salon is clean and the prices are the best I've seen. The customer service is great and one woman was funny and also complimented my natural nails, which of course makes me as a customer grin from ear to ear. The nail technician who helped me did a lovely job. The gentleman who helped my friend worked very carefully and gave her a manicure that is easily worth twice the amount they charged. Rude and flat-out disrespectful! Let me just start off by saying I never get the chance to treat myself to something nice nowadays nor do I like giving out bad feedback on here BUT I walked into this nail salon on 6/14/16 and both nail technicians we're both literally sitting in chairs reading magazines with a sign on the door that said 'OPEN' and on top of it they didn't have even one customer to attend to! I walked in with a big smile on my face and asked how their day was going and they both didn't even acknowledge me! I asked if they had time for a full set still and I still didn't get a response! So I asked one more time in a pleasant voice and they literally said they were too busy and they didn't even look at me once!! On top of it and lady came in behind me and asked for a fill and they took her!! I felt so mortified and embarrassed after walking out I just started crying... Shame on you people! read more

My and Mot are wonderful!! Been going to see them for years as well as my sister and mother. I even drive out of my way to see them from Natomas. Mot is the best for fiberglass and acrylic nails. He is detailed and they do not charge you if you are missing a nail!! My is a gem! She is talkative and loves to make you feel at home. She does the manicures, pedicures and wax! Eyebrows! They really do well on pedicures! Rub the dry skin off! Their prices are very reasonable!! Much better than any where else. They even have colored tips. I am in love with the red see-through tips! Compliments daily. Fill for fiber glass full set $25. With pedicure $40! Walk ins welcome and appointments for sundays. They go out of their way to do what you want! Worth trying! I scheduled an appointment for my friend and I today but then when we walked in they had time for one of us at a time. We were in there for three hours just to get full sets and then when they were done our nails weren't even straight. They are crooked and really flimsy. And when they were painting it they didn't even follow the design I wanted they put their own twist on to it. And the colors that I have are mixed together to make it look worse. I've been working in this area for the past 7 years and I wish I tried this place sooner. The salon is comfy, almost like the comfort of a good friend's living room with little bowls of candy on each of the pedi chairs. When I arrived, I was seated immediately and handed a nice cold bottle of water. This was the most gentle pedicure I have ever received. I stopped getting pedicures for awhile because most places hack at my cuticles like my feet have horse hooves and not toes. They both were very sweet and pleasant and I could tell by the other customers that they have a ton of regulars. I'll be making an appointment for the next time in 2 weeks. :) read more

I came here with my mother on Halloween; we both liked this place. The interior is shabby, but in a comfortable way, like going to visit a kind elderly aunt. I found the staff to be sweet, but I can see how they would perhaps come across as brusque to those unfamiliar with different cultural styles of customer service. I got a basic pedicure and a gel manicure, and I'm very satisfied with both. I had the youngest technician, and she did a very thorough job. Her hands are gentle, so those looking for a deeper massage may not like her style. I would highly recommend making an appointment, because the ebb and flow of the business here seems to be unpredictable. Side note: To others who have claimed to have gone in here and were turned away when they appear not to be busy- you don't know what their appointment books look like. They may have appointments booked shortly after your arrival, so you don't get to go first. If you want a guarantee, make an appointment for yourself too. Both my mother and I liked this place much better than the other couple places we have tried since recently moving here, so this will be our go to shop from now on. read more

After finding out acrylic fill was only $22 I was excited and nervous. The outcome was unreal! I couldn't be happier with my nails and toes. I really liked this salon. I think that they take their time to make sure that they do a good job. Also, for the quality it is pretty inexpensive. I got an acrylic fill for $15. My only complaints would be that the salon is not the cleanest facility and the manicure took a VERY long time. The salon had nail dust on the counters and a moth kept flying in my face. Also, the manicure took what felt like forever. At my previous salon, I could get a gel manicure and acrylic fill in 45 minutes. Here, I got an acrylic fill with regular polish and it took an hour and a half. However, time and cleanliness aside, they gave me a quality manicure for a reasonable price and were very friendly. My and her husband are very nice and accommodating. They remember the names of their regulars and offer you water while you get your nails done. They do an excellent job and for only $20 for a gel manicure. My only complaint is because they do such a meticulous job, it can be time consuming. One time it took an hour and a half for just a gel manicure. However, they do last a solid two weeks (at least) usually without chips/cracks. If you are in a rush, go someplace else. But it you want it done well and have the time, this is the place! read more

This place is not the best. I made an appointment for 2:45pm today. They put me straight in to the pedicure soak area. 25 minutes passed and I asked when I would be seen. They said if you are in a hurry you can go. I said I am not necessarily in a hurry but I made an appointment at 1245 and 25 minutes has passed. She seemed frustrated and started working on me and the lady next to me simultaneously. She did not wash her hands between me and the lady in the next chair and did not change gloves between us. The cleanliness of this facility is something to be desired. I here the reviews say that the price is good but cleanliness is more important than price. I will not be coming back here. read more

I would do no stars if it let me. I walked in and asked for a full fill for my gel nails. They said okay. Turns out, they don't do gel nails, but put a gel clear coat on top of their acrylic or fiberglass nails and call it good. I was frustrated but they needed to be filled and they didn't look bad either. That was on Friday (November 6). It is now Sunday (November 8) and they are falling off and getting those bubbles under the nails where you could slide a card under to pull the nail off if you were done with nails. So now I'm going to have to spend more money elsewhere to get them done AGAIN.. I should have just paid for a full new set at this rate :( read more

Prices are very reasonable. Mai, the owner does good work, but if busy it may be sloppy. Her husband isn't as good. There is another lady, Kim, who does very good mani's and Pedi's. Problem, they usually over book, then rushing and not sure how clean it is in there. A very strong smell of ammonia and, or mold ... like wet carpet. Not sure, but it's strong and concerned about it being unclean so won't be back. Unfortunate too because Mai and Kim do the best designs. read more

I got my nails done by My last Monday. It was $40 for a pedicure and gel manicure. I love coming to Elegant Nails because the price is by far and away the best of all its competitors in the area. But I am also always so impressed with the professionalism and results. I love coming to see My because she is so thorough and she is excellent at alleviating ingrown toenails painlessly. And she is the most detailed and thorough gel manicurist I have ever met. She buffs out the entire nailbed and smoothes and polishes it prior to the gel application in order for the gel to be applied as smoothly and flawlessly as possible. One week later, and it looks like I went to the nail salon this morning! Thanks for the superior service and generous prices! If you go in as a walk in or make an appointment please remember to bring cash for a tip. The card readers will take a percentage if you try to tip through your credit or debit card. read more

First time here and at first i was nervous cause the place is not cleaned a lot. Floors are dirty, the place is packed full of stuff so it's hard to move around and there's nail dust on everything and cobwebs on the curtains. But we had to try their $20 pedicures because you cannot get that price anywhere anymore. It's all $35 and up now! Me and my Mom were very surprised how well they did on our feet. Did great on scrubbing off the dead skin, massaging our feet and legs, cutting and cleaning our toe nails and great paint jobs. Totally worth it! We would come back for sure! We don't care about paying extra for the paraffin wax(which always burns me), leg scrubs and masks. We just want our feet done! $20!! read more

I went in yesterday the older gentleman did my daughters nails and they look horrible I tried to go in today to get them fixed and was told WOW I didn't have an appointment I needed to call and come back with an appointment. I then called to make an appointment they told me they didn't have any available and then my other daughter who is a customer she called right after I did and they made her an appointment for today.
