    Hot huny chik'n biscuit
    Hadja T.

This is the sister restaurant to Marian. As your vegetarian/pescetarian/vegan reviewer, this was a must try. This restaurant is listed as gastropub and that term perfectly describes the atmosphere. It has a casual, comfy vibe with a simple, but elevated quality to the food. Element is located in downtown Raleigh, near the Convention Center and has plenty of nearby paid parking garages. Our server was very pleasant. The music was at a comfortable level where it was heard, but allowed for conversation. We started with the mini Henny cinni rolls which were flaky with just enough sweet. We then ordered the chik'n and waffles and hot huny chik'n biscuit. Both dishes were delicious. The waffle was made of cornbread and did not disappoint. The biscuit was dense and moist. The chik'n was perfectly crisp and moist and just blended seamlessly with each dish. Not many places have great plant-based dishes that are worth revisiting. Element is worth a trip and anther trip and another trip.

I ordered the Carolina Vegetarian BBQ sandwich without slaw with fries. Coming from TX I am trying to like NC BBQ Sauce. This one, however had a LOT of vinegar. I wonder if that's why they added the slaw? Overall, I enjoyed my meal. My mom got the Octoberfest Burger and states the sauerkraut really made the burger. Will probably order from here again!

Been here a few times and love it! Element has a fantastic vegan menu perfect for vegans and non-vegans to enjoy. The gastropub is located in downtown Raleigh near the convention center. While attending conventions I like to walk here for lunch. I've sat at the patio bar and indoor tables. Each visit has left me happy, satisfied, and eager to return. Plus I appreciate their Animazement specials over Memorial Day weekend. Some of our favorites include the kale caesar salad with tofu, pretzel with queso and mustard, tonkatsu sando, and peanut butter cheesecake. The vibe is welcoming and relaxing. Service is usually good. Most recently Karlesha (may be misspelled) was our server and she was amazing! We could see she was serving multiple tables inside and out. Nonetheless she was attentive and took extra time to make our visit special. Our group had various dietary allergies and preferences and were able to order anything from the menu. This fact alone made for a laid back, enjoyable experience. Only things I'm not a fan of are the croutons (too plain for my taste) and the excessive ice used in the mocktails and cocktails. Overall, highly recommended place for a nutritious, filling meal!

Overall: A really fun place that definitely does plant-based food right. Great attention to detail in the dishes. Will be back soon to try other items! Food: I felt like the food here was great. With the premise of the food being plant-based, you can tell the decisions being made with each dish are very intentional. Something I really appreciate is the attention to texture in the dish. My gnocchi was a wonderful blend of ingredients that balanced sweet and savory, but also included ingredients that gave it a contrasting crunch or snap texture with each bite. I feel like gnocchi especially, is a very easy dish to make the texture of the dish all soft. Service: The service was great! I feel like the wait for food is a little bit longer on average compared to other places, but nothing crazy. Ambiance: This is a fun environment, the restaurant has large windows that let you see outside while you dine, and enjoy the city view. I didn't utilize them, but I also saw an self service beer situation in the back.

Visited Element Gastropub 4x in the span of 3 days and could not recommend it more! The drinks menu is spectacular. Loved the THC drinks but even the mocktails tasted so good. You can also take drinks to go and sip and stroll along Fayetteville St. For brunch, the Nojangles 3 Piece Supreme Stack was so delicious. The breakfast burrito was smaller than expected, but delicious. For dessert, the Apple Pie is a MUST GET. Overall, highly recommend for drinks or to grab a meal. Service is wonderful and staff is extremely friendly.

Quiet for a Friday which was great because we got the best convos with the staff, amazing service, and it was quick! Plenty of Gluten Free options for our family members, and my favorite dish was the Grilled Chicken Cesare wrap Love the element incorporated design and atmosphere!!

I have yet to eat something at Element I didn't enjoy. ALL the appetizers are good, as are the salads and burgers. BUT my absolute favorite thing to have there is the peanut butter cheesecake. Even when I've had a meal elsewhere, I will drive to Element for dessert. So yummy! And so rare to find.

Unfortunately my cheesecake had a piece of metal sticking out of it, and was moldy on the bottom. Would absolutely NOT recommend this restaurant--I had to call and ask for a refund and then call the health department. I was going to come back for dinner (this was just a snack), but I won't go to either of their businesses again.

Holy cow this place was delicious. Portions could have been a tiny bit larger, but was so yummy I'll be back. Service was great. Our server was super nice and on top of refills. The vibe is chill. Nothing super posh, etc.

Top tier vegan spot in Raleigh. Best chicken and waffles I ever had and I'm not even vegetarian or vegan. The chili was amazing. Fries were bangin. Super clean place. Service was great with Victoria.

Great first experience from a non vegan. I really enjoyed my meal I had the Carolina BBQ sandwich with malt vinegar fries. The flavors in the sandwich were amazing! The fries were perfect crisp and not oily. Wish there was more fries but I was honestly full after my meal. I had the pumptini cocktail which was okay (a little thick because of purée) and small portion. The pop peanut butter cheesecake was amazing! Creamy soft and tasted exactly like a butterfinger. If you served this to me without telling me it was vegan I wouldn't have known! Our server was amazing! She was knowledgeable on the menu and gave great recommendations. Order quickly though when they come to you because when they walk away it can take them a bit to circle back. The decor and ambiance were classy and on par with the vegan theme. Will deff come back and try other items.

Not to busy at all! Very relaxed atmosphere and great selections. Food, drinks, even soda are all based on plant based. The food was great. Lots of great falvors. Patty melt was good and the birger taste like a burger! Great spot.

The service on this Saturday I went was good. The ambiance was super chill and quiet at this time. It was about 1:30 pm so not too busy downtown that day. There's plenty of outdoor seating which is nice and as I was there, I noticed they do allow pets in that area too. The cheese rangoons were definitely my favorite dish, so much so that I ordered a second order. The chick'n sandwich wasn't bad but nothing to run home to Mom about. I would return if in the area and the mood for vegan food.

The service is always fun and i enjoy the open atmosphere. This Belgian-inspired brasserie continues to be one of my go-to destinations for great food, craft beer, and one of the best Painkillers in town. My must-order dish is always the crispy beer-battered pollock paired with their perfectly seasoned truffle fries. The fish is light, flaky, and fried to golden perfection, but the real star might be their housemade tartar sauce--it's absolutely addictive. A few other standouts from our table included: Savory risotto topped with seared shrimp and blistered tomatoes The NRBC Juicy Burger loaded with onion straws and beer cheese Every dish was packed with flavor, and it's easy to see why this spot remains a local favorite. The first thing we noticed as walked in was how warm the place was. They have an open kitchen which is generating heat. They didn't seem to have central AC. They did have one wall mounted AC which was nowhere enough to cool down the place during peak summer days. We almost decided to leave and go elsewhere but we sat down. We got the following: Grilled Caesar salad was pretty decent for what it was. Duck Poutine was quite underwhelming. It was pretty cheese fries with duck on it. Not quite the typical poutine that also has gravy on it. Blood Orange Crème Brulee was my favorite item of the three we had. You could taste the blood orange in the crème brulee which was amazing. The portion could have been a big larger. I was expecting it to be in a small coffee cup. I could have had another one easily. All in over an average experience. Not sure if I will go back!

My boyfriend is a huge whiskey drinker and had been wanting to visit here for a while. He had heard that the best Old Fashioned were here (he said that it was not that great), and while they did have bougie cocktails, I settled for a margarita. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere and decor were great! I am a plant person, so I loved seeing all of the plants. I love the open concept and exposed ceiling. But the food......was displeasing and unappetizing. I ordered the lamp burger, and while I ordered it as well done, I did not know that it would be presented overcooked with a charred outside. If you know lamb, this caused the meat to be extremely dry. The burger itself was very bland and lacked much flavor. My boyfriend ordered the Fireman's Chicken and by the looks of it when it came out, someone should have called the fire department while it was cooking! It was so burnt it was black. The only flavor present was charred meat and it was the most dried out chicken we have ever had (unfortunately I tried it). The collard greens were bitter with little flavor and the black-eyed peas still had crunch to where they weren't cooked all the way. To say all this, to have a $100 bill was HIGHLY unappreciated as it was one of the worst meals we have had in a LONG time. I definitely could see why they were not busy. The food was cooked terrible. And I will note that it isn't that I am picky, the couple next to us barely ate their meal and looked just as dissatisfied as we were. We would NOT recommend!

We ordered several small plates including the Bread & Butter (Boulted sesame pan loaf, GA cultured butter), the Raw Oysters (2 O'cock, NC, 2 Mookiemoto, ME, and 2 Lucky Charm, PEI), NC Tuna Tataki (ponzu, zucchini namasu, sweet pepper, bonito mayo, chive), the Beef Tartare (pan con tomate, shallot, caper, paprika aioli, peppers, olive), the Fried Oysters (cucumber, daikon, carrot, spicy mayo, cilantro), the Crispy Eggplant (peach muhammara, heirloom tomato, yogurt tahina, mint, urfa), the Crispy Pig Head (beluga lentils, bacon, poached egg, mustard crema, arugula), and the Roasted Marrow (parsley, shallot, caper, Boulted toast, Maldon). Out of all the small plates my favorites were the NC Tuna Tataki and Raw Oysters. The other plates were also good and definitely worth trying. For our entree we split the Grilled Ribeye (heirloom tomato, shallot, basil, Cana de Cabra, Boulted levain) which was perfectly cooked and seasoned, fell apart, and was my favorite part of the entire meal. Lastly we ordered the Peach Tarte Tartin (roasted peach, pastry, corn, mascarpone, basil) which we both weren't fans of. I'd probably skip the dessert and go for an after dinner drink. For appetizers we ordered the Maine Lobster Doughnuts, Heirloom Tomato Pie (with Tennessee Buttermilk Cheddar & Sherry-Sherry Vinaigrette), and the Watermelon Vinaigrette (with Avocado, Goat Lady Dairy Chevre, & White Balsamic Vinaigrette). The Maine Lobster Doughnuts and Watermelon Vinaigrette were excellent. The watermelon was sliced, goat cheese wasn't too strong and had the perfect blend of flavors. The Maine Lobster Doughnuts were also perfectly cooked and were so good. The Heirloom Tomato Pie was okay, just had a really strong mustard after taste which wasn't my favorite. For my entree I ordered the 10 oz Hanger Steak (Creamed Greens, Oil-Cured Olive Butter, & Red Wine Shallot Jus) which was cooked perfectly was so good. Even the baguette and butter were excellent!! Lastly for dessert we split the Peach Shortcake (Vanilla Bean Mascarpone and Cinnamon Crunch Biscuit). It tasted like a croissant and peach biscuit and was excellent. Just a heads-up: the pimento cheese is served cold. I was expecting it to be warm, but I probably should have asked. The heirloom tomato pie was good, not great. Think chicken pot pie, but filled with tomatoes and cheese. The flavors were pretty straightforward, but the crust was really good. The ricotta gnocchi was a hit. The gnocchi was very soft and pillowy, and it came in an almost pesto-like broth. I'm a huge pesto fan, so I really enjoyed the combination. The sweet corn with oyster mushrooms was also good, but there was a lot of sherry cream. The corn was practically swimming in it, and the mushrooms became so soft that they mostly tasted like the cream. Surprisingly, the sautéed broccolini may have been my favorite dish. It had a smoky grilled char while still keeping the firmness you want from broccolini. Simple, but really well done. We finished with the soft-serve sundae with braised blueberries, coconut graham crumble, and coconut cream. The blueberries were a little sweeter than I normally prefer, but the soft serve was delicious, the crumble added a nice texture, and the coconut cream was a subtle touch. Overall, it was a very good meal. Not every dish was a standout, but the gnocchi, broccolini, and sundae were the clear highlights.
