Planned a trip to Phoenix this weekend, I saw this place and it looked very nice online, which it was in person as well, the ambiance was great and service was ok. My experience was so bad with food, I had the steak tartare to start and then the halibut with mussels and a lemon shellfish broth. I woke up at 1:30 am with food poisoning that completely ruined the trip I had planned. Although we made reservations online around sunset with the arrangement for Anniversary and an added note for window seating; No arrangement was accounted for as we were placed to the back wall. We told the busser about our occasion as the server was absent the majority of the night. We ordered: Wagyu dumplings which did not disappoint at all, Korean BBQ Short Ribs that fell off smoothly, and Two Wash Farms Roasted Chicken complimented with whipped potatoes that we enjoyed. William, our server was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and knew just the right times to check in our table. Beyond what William provided, our cocktails arrived literally in minutes after ordering them and the pacing of all courses was amazing. We began with 6 Oysters on the Half Shell and 4 Wagyu Beef & Ginger Dumplings. Perfect starters. For entrees, the Korean BBQ Short Rib, Char Sui Pork Chop and the Filet of Beef. We were so impressed by flavor and the unique preparation that we shared hearty portions with one another. I'm usually not a fan of Short Rib, as it often seemed fatty, but not the serving at Elements. The Pork Chop was exceptional, super juicy and that incredible Asian flavoring. For desserts, The Lemon (lemon olive oil cake) and Passion Fruit Pavlova (crisp meringue and passion fruit gel) were both incredible choices. I want to be far but after all the times my husband and I have eaten at this restaurant, with great reviews at normally 4 stars this wasn't one of those times, I wanted to share that our Valentine's dinner on Sunday Feb 15th was one of the most disappointing dinners that we have ever experienced at this establishment, it didn't even seem like the same restaurant except for the location, literally from the server and his lack of attention and attendance to the food being subpar, our server asked for our order, brought two cans of coke to our table and a weak glass of ice tea, he forgot various items that we ordered so we had to reorder them so they came at different times of the meal when some of the food came out we had limpy greasy fries, over and undressed salads, cold braised beef entree, shrimp that was soggy in it's batter and nobody bothered to ever ck on us not even to fill my ice tea, maybe that's why the coke cans were left on the table, the one and only time the server ckd on us he left his serving tray on my booth seat that another server removed in embarrassment and then he brought the dessert menu so we couldn't even have our other dinner items corrected, we know he was very attentive to his other tables because he would look in our direction and then instantly walk away and that happened more than once I finally had to ask the bus boy to please get me a refill, we saw people at other tables being served with get detail and respect and after spending $400 including the tip this was one of the most disappointing experiences that we as a couple especially on a Valentine celebration that we've ever had at Elements including the food, it's too bad because we frequently went to this restaurant, not anymore read more

Wonderful evening at Elements! We decided to reserve a table here for my Fiance's birthday and the food and service did not disappoint. We started off by having a cocktail at Jade Bar which was fantastic. I highly recommend the Mekong cocktail. We were seated on time and had a sensational view of Paradise Valley. Our server Michael provided great suggestions for our meal. We started with the Wagyu dumplings. They were ok, and could have been served warmer. The star of the show were our entrees. The Korean short rib was out of this world. The wasabi mashed potatoes are an acquired taste, but I really enjoyed them. My fiancé said the filet of beef may have been one of the best steaks he has had in a long time. Everything was cooked well and the flavor was there. Our bill after tip was like $270. We took our waiters recommendation on mostly everything we ordered. He recommended the crab cake as an appetizer. He hyped it up and explained how it was 3.5oz of crab meat with very little binder. It came out and it was one singular crab cake. It was decent but a little bit salty on its own. The corn puree and vegetable medley served with it, made it pretty good. But on its own....just salty crab that was over priced. Then onto the entree. I ordered the miso cod and my boyfriend got the duck confit cacio e pepe. The miso cod tasted like fish (self explanatory) as miso isn't very flavorful. It was completely underwhelming. But then as I kept eating it, I noticed how salty it was. It was manageable though. The cacio e pepe was quite literally inedible. The noodles were made from scratch which the chef did well, but the sauce and duck was way too salty. My boyfriend looked up at me and had me taste it because he couldn't believe it. I tasted it and was shocked at how salty it was. The duck was as salty as beef jerky PLUS some more salt. It felt as though the chef spilled his canister of salt into our dishes. We were quite let down. I feel like their wine menu was what saved our dinner. We did have some great wine to wash down the salt LOL. All of I have to say about Elements is the view is amazing! Having lunch with a nice view of the mountains really elevates your mood. I loved their valet option, it's a short walk from the parking lot to the restaurant, and as the days get hotter I prefer to valet. The whole process was effortless. We came in for lunch, for drinks I got the French spy based on the waiter recommendation. Solid choice, strong and refreshing. For my main meal, I order their tuna poke bowl. Honestly nothing impressive about the bowl, the quantity for the price was adding up, I was left unsatisfied so I ordered the herbed Parmesan truffle fries to curb the hunger. I have never been at a restaurant that I had to order another meal after my main dish because I felt the main dish was more of a snack than anything. Their dessert were disappointing, I was looking forward to the dulce de leche cheesecake, such a let down! It tasted bland and I couldn't taste the dulce de leche. My friend's angel food cake was also a disappointment. Honestly the best thing about the dinning experience was the view, the company and the drinks. I feel the need to share my experience here as well as open table The TLDR: dinner for two was over $800 and our server never check on us. food good. Service atrocious. Dinner took 3.5 hours in total and most of it was waiting while hungry. We dined here for Christmas dinner and to celebrate a birthday. It was disappointing. We were sat about 30 minutes after our reservation time which is understandable because of the holiday. Food was great and wine menu was vast. Kudos to the hosts up front for dealing with a busy night. The Somm and busser were great, they were the only two redeeming people who served us. Our server never introduced himself so I could not get you his name. He said all but 15 words to us prior to our main course. When he took our order it was a "what will you have?" There was no explanation of the prix fixe, the items of the menu, or even a warm welcome. He had no problem chatting up the table next to us, offering recommendations and checking in on them as they were eating. Our server would pass our table, check in with the table next to us, then walk right by us with out asking if we were enjoying our food, if we needed anything or even to take another drink or wine bottle order. Our sever made a poor attempt to apologize and make small talk as our entrees came out. We got the managers attention between entrees and dessert. This was not the interaction we were hoping for. The manager told us he was newer, had only been there for a couple of months. We explained the service we were having, and his response was "well in his (the server) defense, he's had a rough night with bad tables and groups" there was no apology from the manager, nothing done to right our dining experience. After spending about $850 for a dinner for two, I am left disappointed. I had a fantastic Christmas dinner here last year and this year left little to be desired. I will likely never return to elements for a casual dinner and especially not a special occasion and will be sure to dissuade others from doing so. read more

Went to this secluded restaurant for Valentines and tried out their course meal! Aside from the food being slow, it was an overall great experience. The courses were organized where you pick an first entree then the second entree then a dessert. Before your first entree we were served a small croquette and lavender honey sourdough bread. I got the uni and he got the foie gras for the first course and they did not fail in serving us the luxury richness of these delicacies. The second course was a scallop and his second course was a filet mignon. No complaints and it was so tasty! We accompanied our meal with their surf and turf oysters and a bottle of champagne. The chicken was dry in the soup I ordered. The chicken was super salty in my entree. What I will say is when the server saw that I did not touch the chicken at all he did take that part off the bill. However, that was the main part of my meal. Thankfully Hubby shared his steak. My husband had the Wisconsin Mac and cheese and Argentina steak which he said were just OK. TLDR: Prices don't reflect quality or portions The place has awesome views and gorgeous decor. The menu is set up like a Michelin star restaurant, however, the quality doesn't align. We had a large party and sat outside on a Saturday night at 8 pm. The wait staff was friendly... a bit erratic. Our waiter was also our bartender and he did a superb job. He made custom orders, brought a special gift for the gal we were celebrating, and did his best to keep us happy. We were offered bread, after we ordered, so we assumed (incorrectly, you know what they say!) that it was free. Although we did end up paying $20 for two loaves of Focaccia, it was the best thing I tried ($1200 later). I left a bit hungry and entirely underwhelmed. Been coming here for Xmas Day Dinner last 4 years. It's a popular spot, so we're sort of accustomed to some chaos, but this year was the worst yet and will probably be our last time there. Rez was for 6:30, got seated at 6:50, which isn't horrible given the crowds. However, what ensued was unacceptable when you're charging $170/person before taxes and tip. We didn't see a server for over 20 minutes after first seating. Finally, made our choices from the available menu and waited. and waited. and waited. tried to flag down our server, who did not come back to the table for 30 minutes after we ordered. the only "course" we received for the first 50 minutes after being seated was bread and the amuse-bouche, neither of which was particularly good. Finally, i got up and spoke to our server; she apologized, said the kitchen had gotten a bunch of tickets mixed up (this seemed likely to be true as numerous tables seemed to be in the same situation we were in) and our second course, appetizers, would be out shortly. Another 15 minutes passed and the soup course came out (that was supposed to be the 3rd course); we ate it (soup was actually was the best part of the meal) anyway, and meandered through the remaining 3 courses over the next hour. In short, the food was fairly good, including the desserts (they did away with the dessert bar from last year which I think caused people to stay much longer, creating longer waits, etc.). However, the GM/kitchen clearly has no idea how to manage the multiple seatings throughout the afternoon/evening in a way that allows guests to have an experience commensurate with the price/expectations. We weren't offered any accommodations for the trouble. The whole resort has sort of decayed in service since Gurney's bought it in 2021 and this was just another piece of evidence to support that. It was perfect weather so we sat outside but the space heaters helped a lot. Our server was very nice and attentive. Throughout dinner we experienced utterly disappointing service, never got introduced to our server, we never were told the specials. We had to beg to get drinks. When we were seated we waited until 8:30 and never had anyone ask us for drinks or go over the menu. I finally asked someone who walked by to order drinks. We waited 30 min and asked a different person to please let's put some apps in. We finally ordered apps and entree items because it was clear no one was coming to serve us or explain the menu. We ordered dishes like the Korean bbq, sea bass, wagyu dumplings, oysters. Sides we got were brussels sprouts and shishito peppers. We probably would have ordered more food but no server ever came over to tell us the specials or go over the menu, and it was a birthday dinner and we had plans after...and it was so slow. As far as the food, the wagyu and ginger dumplings were under seasoned. The sea bass was overdone and dry. I was so excited to try the pork belly in the Brussels sprouts but it was so dry and not tender at all. The restaurant was also out of the shortcake dessert. Overall I would NEVER return for the level of service and price. $600+ for the worst service and subpar food! This time it was my mom's 70th birthday, which I requested a nice table with a window view and they gave us a table in the middle...when I saw them giving a bunch of other people with our same party size better tables that they added a chair to make the table work. We got screwed on the view re request. They could've easily done that for our special occasion, but they chose not to. Each time I've been there The service is extremely slow and they don't even clear off dirty plates! They are not very attentive at all. They didn't even refill my coffee or our waters! I had already spoken to somebody over the phone and requested that my mom get the complementary birthday cake and the waitress asked if any of us wanted dessert and we said no assuming that I had already spoken to somebody and they were gonna bring out the cake which never happened. The most incredible dinner, the views are outstanding, beautiful, sunset views, with gorgeous scenes of surrounding mountains. The service is exceptional, Sean was hilarious and attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu and drink options! He is even a Somme and can recommend any wine for anybody. Holy moly, this really my family when I took them here when they were visiting me for my birthday! Came here for our anniversary dinner because we loved it so much in the past. Well.. things have changed a little for me. I will try to keep it brief. First of all I asked to be seated somewhere where we could watch the sunset when I made the reservation. They seated us in a booth where we had to crane our necks to see it. Very disappointed. Gary, our server, was a great guy. Very attentive and helpful. We shared some starters and they were very hit or miss, mostly miss. Avoid the elemental soup (lobster bisque) as it was probably the blandest lobster bisque I've ever had. The Caesar salad was pitiful. They did not offer any Parmesan or fresh cracked black pepper and the dressing was unidimensional, which was almost unbelievable for 20$. I don't know if they just don't use anchovies, garlic, or Worcestershire, but they need to reevaluate that dressing. The only good thing about the salad was the caper berry salsa verde. The wagyu dumplings were a welcomed delight. Very ginger forward and savory. I would suggest eliminating some of the sesame seeds and substituting a drizzle of sesame oil for some fragrance and more flavor. This is where i struggle when it comes to rating them. The entrees were out of this world. Hands down the best sea bass I've had. A gorgeous, caramelized crust with a beautifully delicate flake of the fish and an almost buttery bite...Wow. The piece of fish stood out even without the accompaniment of the amazing miso sauce and deliciously umami mushrooms. The filet of beef had to be the best tasting steak I've had in a LONG time. Their red wine bone marrow reduction is ridiculous. Steak was cooked perfectly and so tender. I don't eat steak regularly, but I would order that every time. All in all, our time was okay. Starters were disappointing, entrees amazing, drinks subpar. The butter cake was a cute little treat and the perfect size. We spent almost 400$. Definitely not worth that. In a word- stupendous. From the setting to the staff, from the cocktails to the post- dinner chocolate bark, this was a special night. I'm not going into all the dishes we had- there were six of us and we had so many of the items on the menu. Probably the only startling item was the talons were left on the chicken legs for the chicken special. They were disconcerting to the two who ordered the special, but both commented that the taste was unique and excellent. Service was superb, plenty of time, attention and knowledge without interfering with our conversation and the ambience. Tastes were unique, tasty and left a good memory.
