Eli's clocks never, ever answers their phone, their voicemail always comes out saying they are attending to clients or out on requests to fix clocks. I think this is false since I've called many times and left messages since February 2025. I need a call back, the only thing wrong with my clock is that it doesn't make noise once every 15 min., 30 min or 1 hr. Can you fix this issue. read more

This place has very bad customer service, I've tried calling them up for 3 weeks already, and their answering machine just says the voice box is full and my call can't get through and to try my call again. I've called up several times and the dame message comes out. I need a quote to move a heavy antique grandfather clock from what used to be my mothers house to my house, but my brother says it needs to be dismantled, the large chime and weights from the rest of the clock. So I need a quote to dismantle the clock move it from one house to another house about 5 miles away from each other and when it's put in it's place, to be put back together again. I really need experts in grandfathers clocks, my brother says you guys fixed it one time already. Please vall me or text me to hive me a quote. read more

My husband recently inherited his mother's Grandfather clock. It has been is storage for over 10 years and he did not know when it was serviced last. Being impatient, we opted to go with the first shop that answered the phone to come look at the clock. We were quoted a shocking $2200 to get it running. That is after $70 to just come look at it. While we were reeling from the shock, Richard from Eli's Clocks called and offered to come look at the clock and $150 later the clock is as good as new. He took the time to explain how the clock works until I understood. Richard is very knowledgeable and has a long history with the company. I highly recommend Eli's Clocks and will be using them for regular maintenance in the future. read more

I hesitate to write a critical review because Richard seemed to be doing his best in difficult times. The times we had our cuckoo clock repaired it was really hard to get hold of him because as mentioned previously, he doesn't respond to messages left on the phone, which is not uncommon with repair persons who don't have office managers. With Eli's being the only clock repair close enough to drive to, we would make the 40 minute drive, hoping he'd be there. Our last repair in 2019 took several months; Richard explained that it takes a while to regulate a cuckoo clock. We also dropped off a friend's anniversary clock for repair to save her the trip. Sadly, after we got both back, neither worked and then the pandemic plus the fuss of getting repairs led to abandoning hope of getting either to work. So...fast forward to a move to Sacramento area in December 2020. We went to The Clock Shop in Sacramento. Mike Jennings, the owner, checked over the cuckoo clock and said that Richard had used the wrong kind of lubricant, which gummed up the works! He said he should have known to not use that kind of lubricant. After he cleared out the "gunk", the cuckoo clock worked perfectly and is working great 4 months later. I sincerely hope that either Richard gets some much needed training and help with handling the business, or that someone else takes over the business. He really is a nice guy trying to do his best. In the meantime, I'm thankful to have found a place that knows how to handle these old time mechanisms! read more

Elys doesn't answer their phones . It goes to voicemail. I tried calling leaving messages and even drove by several times. I had done business with him in the past and was pleased. I wish him well. I just ended up calling watch service and repair who is a father son operation which services grandfather clocks and regulators. They answered their phones so they got our business. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE IN THIS NEWER LOCATION When you call for hours of operation, you get a recorded message. You can't tell if the place is open or not. The message leads you to believe that they'll call you back, but they don't. I've left 3 messages, to no avail. I did business with them when they were located on Ming Ave and was always happy with the superior service I received and I don't know if the business sold to someone else or was handed down to another family member, but someone has taken the 'service' out of 'customer service.' read more

I gave this place a bad rating because he wouldn't answer his phone or return my clock. I finally wrote a note on his business door and he delivered the clock to my home, no charges. So even though he is very terrible in using phone , he did a good job in repairing clock and delivering it to me. read more

Eli's Clock's has the WORST customer service I've ever received. l left my clock there for repair several months ago and tried to reach him on several occasions to no avail. Finally when I did reach him on a Wednesday he said to meet him there at 11:30 which I did. No one was there. I left a note and a phone message to return my call, which he did not do. I called him back a while later and he was there. He said a job took him longer to do than he expected. He said came back tight now, which I did. He was there, I picked up my clock paid him and told him how unhappy I was with his service. He said he was sorry and said if anything goes wrong bring it back and he would fix it for free. Then he said that should make you happy. NEVER would I ever go back there again under ANY circumstances! BEWARE! Saying this place has absolutely horrible service is an understatement. read more

I dropped off my family Seith Thomas Ships clock 9 months ago. It was to be a 2 Week job. I spoke to Richard about 2 months ago & he told me he had to take a construction job because of COVID. Now whenever I call his answer machine it is full and does not take messages. I have written him a letter telling him I'm moving out of town and I need to get my family heirloom back. He has not return my calls so I have sent him a letter with no response. I am very concerned. I gave the shop five star rating because Richard has always done a very good job for me over the past 16 years. I'm very disappointed and concerned about my Clock right now but when he does work on it he does very good job. read more

As far as I know the only clock shop in town. Does good work , just hard to catch at times. But he knows his clocks, from grandfather to time clocks, can't beat Eli's. read more

I took a clock into Eli's Dec. 15, 2015. Now its Oct. 15, 2018. Going on 3 years now and havnt heard anything from Eli's. I have called many times and left messages with my name, my ticket # and my phone # and Richard has never returned my calls. I have drove across town to Eli's many times during business hours and nobody there. I have bought several clocks from them and had a few repaird. I have never had this problem with them before. it seems other people are having the same problem. I even called today and left a message. The phone only rings 2 times and then gos to message. Very fast and professional service. Called to see about repairing my grandfather clock that I inherited from my aunt spoke with Greg. He was very nice and knowledgable and was pleased to help. He came and picked up the clock the very next day, I got to say I was not sure the clock could be repaired. (It hasn't worked for years). He called and told me the clock could be repaired and gave me a quote. I authorized his repairs and felt comfortable after our conversation. A very short 4 weeks later Greg called and said he was ready to deliver the clock. I was very excited but not as excited as I was when I saw it, he did an amazing job worth every penny.
