When I first met with her, I asked if it was even possible to make my great-grandfather's ring a few sizes smaller. I specifically asked whether resizing it would affect the stone or the integrity of the ring because it was an antique that had been in my family for years. I explained that I had waited a long time to have it resized because I wanted to make sure it was done correctly. Stephanie assured me it would be "not a problem." She told me to trust her and to read all of her good reviews. I told her that her reviews were the reason I chose her business. I also explained that I had never had jewelry resized before and asked several questions about the process. She told me that she needed to cut out the extra silver from the band in order to bend and make the rings smaller, then soldering them to melt the metal back together. I was excited to finally be able to wear these pieces, and she made me feel confident that they were in good hands. After examining everything I brought in, she told me the work would take about a week. I told her there was absolutely no rush because I wanted to make sure she had plenty of time to do the work carefully, so I actually left my jewelry with her for an additional week. She was pleasant at the beginning of our meeting but then became noticeably snappy, repeatedly reminding me that I would need to bring the yellow receipt to pick up my jewelry. That was understandable. When pickup day arrived, I called a few times. During my first call, she sounded busy and told me she wasn't finished working on my rings but that they would be done by closing time. She said she would call when everything was ready, and once again reminded me--rather abruptly--that I needed to bring the yellow receipt. As closing time got closer and I still hadn't heard from her, she finally called to say my order was ready for pickup and again reminded me to bring the yellow receipt. I assured her I hadn't forgotten. When I arrived, she informed me that one of my rings had not been resized to the size I requested because she "didn't have enough time." This was confusing since I had already given her an extra week beyond her original estimate. It made me wonder whether my order had simply been forgotten. She told me she had just finished working on it. I asked why she hadn't mentioned over the phone that one ring still needed more time. She admitted she should have told me and said she would take care of it. Unfortunately, the ring she needed to resize again was the one that had belonged to my great-grandfather--the same ring I had explained meant so much to me. Having to resize it a second time was very concerning because repeated heating and soldering can increase the risk to the stone and gradually thin the silver. I left the ring with her for additional MONTH. When I got it back, it was still too big, and the silver had been soldered and buffed so thin that I'm honestly afraid to wear it. If Stephanie wasn't confident that she could resize these pieces properly--especially a sentimental family heirloom--she should have been honest with me from the beginning. I would have appreciated her telling me the job was beyond her comfort level or expertise so I could have taken my jewelry to someone else. Or chosen not to have it done at all. Instead, she accepted the work, assured me there would be "no problem". Overall, I am not happy with any of the resizing work. The seams on the resized bands are not smooth or seamless, and the workmanship looks rushed rather than carefully finished. Stephanie asked whether I was happy with my rings, and I honestly told her I wasn't. She tried polishing them to make them look better, but they were still uneven and bumpy. Another issue that disappointed me was that I was never given the silver that had been cut from my rings during the resizing process. Since this was my first time ever having jewelry resized, I didn't know I should ask for those pieces, and they were never offered or returned to me. I later learned that many jewelers return the precious metal that is removed, so I was surprised to find out mine had been kept without any discussion. My great-grandfather's ring is now essentially unwearable for me, and I never received the silver that was removed from my rings. I trusted Stephanie with sentimental family heirlooms based on her reputation and reviews, and unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. Her rates were extremely overpriced and were almost triple the amount other jewelers quoted but was willing to pay thinking the results would be exceptional base on the reviews.

A local chain jeweler offered to reset the stones in a new ring, doing what they could to preserve its character. Their estimate seemed a little pricey, though, but what did I know? Although my daughter preferred retaining as much of the ring as possible for sentimental reasons, she was open to doing this. Guided by positive reviews about jewelry restoration, we then visited family-owned White & Ivory Diamonds and Fine Jewelry in the Village at Leesburg. A daughter, Alina, greeted us. She was delightful to work with, asking questions about what would be important to us and coming up with some creative strategies. Alina suggested keeping the setting and the ring itself while strengthening it. It seemed ideal, so we put half down and let them do it. They did the work within the estimated time, communicating regularly via phone text, and I felt optimistic the whole time. They preserved and modified the setting to display eight of the diamond chips and kept the original clamps that had held fast all these years. The "odd" diamond went into a recessed hole on the inside of the ring - a hidden jewel! They reinforced the lower part of the ring so it would last and could be resized and plated the whole thing with white gold. The best part was it cost half what the chain estimated. I'm sure the chain would have done a fine job, but my daughter couldn't be happier with White and Ivory's creative craft work. We're so glad we gave them a shot!

I came in July for eyebrow threading and a facial wax. Unfortunately, my experience was very…read morenegative. During the facial wax, my face became extremely red, painful, and irritated, and I later required professional medical treatment where I was prescribed burn cream. There was no skin assessment or consultation before the service. When I expressed concern about how much my face was burning and how red it had become, I was told to apply cold water and was reassured that my skin was "just red" and not burned. I was also told it could be related to my menstrual cycle, which did not feel like a reasonable explanation. Wax was left on my nose ring and earring, and I had to remove the wax from my nose ring myself at home while my skin was still very inflamed. After filing a complaint with Fairfax County Consumer Affairs, I learned that the individual who performed my wax did not have a cosmetology license at the time of my service. This was a painful and distressing experience, especially for a facial treatment. I'm sharing this so others can be cautious and informed about who they trust with their skin.

I had my first encounter at Elite Jewelers over the weekend and it happened to be with the store manager, Sara. I was just browsing around for at the time "potential" diamond studs but little did I know I would be walking out with a gorgeous pair. I was greeted with a smile by Sara and was immediately informed of their deals for the day. Hearing "up to 75% OFF" offer, how could that NOT be tempting? She helped me find what I was looking for. She listened patiently as I described what I had in mind as far as the quality of diamonds go. While we were discussing my choices, one of her employees brought me a bottle of water - which was refreshing. I have been to a lot of fine jewelry stores before and nothing like this has ever happened. For me, it's the little acts of customer service that stands out. The stud earrings were a little outside of my budget and it was something I wasn't ready to put on my credit card but then she told me about their interest free one year financing and I just couldn't resist. Sara was generous enough to include a lifetime warranty plan for free which I wasn't expecting at all. Over all, if I could sum my experience, all I can say is, it has wonderfully exceed my expectations. The staff is super friendly, informative and ready to serve you. To anyone who's interested in fine Jewelry, I highly recommend Elite Jewelers. You won't be disappointed with their pieces or customer service. I'm definitely looking forward to buying my next piece. I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from your jewelry store. I have purchased three items from your store, including this ring, with the expectation that any issues would be covered by your warranty. Three months ago, I had the ring cleaned and inspected, specifically mentioning that a stone was loose. Not only did your staff fail to inform me that the warranty had expired, but now that the stone is loose again, you are refusing to fix it. Your claim that you "don't always inspect jewelry when cleaning it" is unacceptable. This negligence has caused damage to my valuable piece, and your lack of accountability and poor communication is appalling. I expected far better from a supposedly reputable store. Every time I visit your store, your staff inspects my rings using a microscopic tool and asks for my phone number, leading me to assume they are thoroughly checking my ring. It doesn't matter what tool was used because each visit follows the same procedure. In conclusion, your company is extremely disrespectful, unprofessional, and fails to honor a loyal customer who has purchased multiple pieces of jewelry. It's suspicious that the associate who performed the inspection both times stood by and said nothing about the warranty or the loose stone. Why would your staff not inform me that my warranty had expired each time I visited for an inspection and cleaning? It's unacceptable that this critical information was never communicated, especially after multiple visits. read more

This 'Elite Jewelers' in the Dulles Mall - 2nd Floor is probably the best jewelry store in the Northern VA region. Over the past 2 years, my family and I have bought several pieces from them that we've had appraised by trusted 3rd party jewelers, and all of the appraisal results have been amazing to say the least. Most recently, I bought a custom Engagement Ring + Wedding Band for my fiancée, now wife. Not only was their staff accommodating, patient, and extremely knowledgable (I worked primarily with Sara), but they were willing to take the time to provide me with must-see custom rings for a price that was within my budget. From the stone & setting selection process, to a custom mold and handpicked finishes; Sara and her team provided us with a completely white-glove service. We had Elite Jewelers make a custom engagement ring and 2 custom wedding enhancer for us; they turned out more than what we thought of! We worked with Sam store manager and Jamila to design the ring and enhancer and it turned out more than what we envisioned. We asked to see the wax model before the final diamond and platinum ring was made which solidified our confidence it would be what we want. Sam's extensive knowledge with what we we're aiming for helped fill in many of the gaps in design we couldn't think through. I think of two fox head silhouettes engraved on either side of my ring. I go one step farther and picture a lab created ruby red stones for the eyes of the fox. I picture the ring in white gold, because this is how I want it. Haven't decided on whether it's 10k or 14k gold, but I have time to think about it. Not sure if I will end up getting my ring designed here, but I am glad to know this is an option. My sales associate had a great attitude and was helpful on my questions. I tried on a white gold ring with blue topaz, but it did not have the comfortable feeling on my finger. I like gemstones more than diamonds, so I guess I might not understand the whole concept of "diamonds are a girls best friend," but I can hazard a guess. I will keep this place in mind.
