This smog station intentionally failed one of our older vehicles even though it passed both the emissions test and visual inspection. Initially, I thought well it's an old vehicle. Maybe it's finally having issues so I followed Victor's instructions which were to that the EGR system needed to be cleaned or repaired because it was not operating properly. He also said the gas cap had to be replaced because it failed a leak test. The following day I had the EGR system cleaned and checked. I was told there was nothing wrong with the EGR and that the passages were clear. This obviously did not sit well with me after having to pay to have this unnecessary work done. The gas cap was also tested and passed a leak test so yet more money wasted that didn't need to be Wasted. The following day, I contacted Victor Smog shop and asked him to re-smog the vehicle since I had already paid him and explain to him that we followed his instructions and there was nothing wrong with the car. He said, bring it in and he will reinspect it. He Yet again failed it. I reached out to the bureau of automotive repair and looked at the Smog inspection manual. This person Victor is intentionally failing older vehicles because he is afraid they will fail their next Smog and it will affect his score with the bureau of automotive repair smog licensing division . My suggestion to anyone is do not deal with this dishonest person and find a honest Smog facility. This person will take your money and waste your time. I turned him into the bureau of automotive repair. If you have any issues, I suggest you do the same. It is free to report them and they will investigate your concern. read more

Do not bring your RV! Owner guided me into his bay rather than pull his gear out. I ended up crushing my satellite dome on my RV and nearly tore off my front AC unit. I pulled apart the satellite dome, thankfully it was just the cover that was mostly damaged. But even after all of that and scratching up some of my roof and the dome cover. He offered me a $20 discount for my inconvenience. He's lucky I didn't get an insurance quote and come after him to have the scratches and the dome replaced and repaired. read more

Victor is great to work with. No appointment necessary just walk in. I had 2 registrations due in the same week and did them a day apart and had to wait no more than half an hour for either. Price was as quoted.Couldn't ask for anything better. Possibly could have found it cheaper but as they say time is money. read more

I have a weird vehicle. It's a 1996 motorhome built out of the continental US. It needs to be tested for smog in a very specific way. Called these guys up and asked if they could do it and they said yes so I made an appointment. Whoopsie! Got busy and didn't hear the alarm go off on my phone until an hour after my appointment time! When I realized I had missed it I called and Viktor said no problem just bring it in now. Did that and he greeted me at the door and started on my RV Immediately. Turns out there was a huge manifold leak which indicates Viktor illegally passed this vehicle. Elkhorn Smog was the first place I found and I don't have regrets to asked them for the Smog Check. First come first serve....no line. It took me about 15 min to pass my Smog Check. I do have a carb legal universal catalytic converter in my car. The young man that works there failed me because he said "you don't have a cat. It's just a pipe. Whoever installed it for you did a pretty good job". I was charged 20 bucks. I was really confused because a couple years ago I passed with flying colors with the same cat. So I decided to take my car to a different smog shop to see if they would say the same thing. Boom! I passed no problem. Conclusion: if you have a universal cat, do not go to Elkhorn Smog. I have been here twice to get my car smog tested. The first time I knew I would fail because the check engine light, but needed to do it for DMV. He told me that if I changed the gas cap, the light should come off itself and then he would do a free retest. Well, couple of days went by and the light turned off! WORST PLACE EVER! Took my jeep wrangler here and he was lazy to check my catalytic converter to see the serial number and told me to just go buy a new cat!!! Like seriously like i have to drop 200$ because he doesnt wanna check?!?. Of course i refused because i knew my cat was good so I Had to take it to a shop for them to take off the tranny mount and look for the numbers so i can come back and give it to him. Whats the purpose of a smog tech? Car #2 of course two smog shops i went to were closed and he was the closest again so I went ahead and tried another time. I give people more than one chance so I took my subaru here, WHAT A MISTAKE! I bought the car and DMV requested I smog it so i brought it over and he accused me of putting mods on (Stock) and then I passed everything and he noticed something with my 02 sensor and started accusing me of stuff and said again to get a new catalytic converter! For what!? So I failed on inspection and took it to my mechanic which he repaired in literally 5 minutes, I call back to schedule a re-smog which he told me re-test is 20$ and so i called......He refused! Said i was trying to cheat the system and all sorts of things when he told me to repair my 02 which i did.. WORST PLACE EVER!!!
