These young men have really impressed me with their customer service. I've been bringing my fleet cars here for just over a year now and they give prompt and attentive service. My most recent visit had a minor complication which needed to be resolved before services and they advised on the next steps needed before we can fulfill the smog test. The matter was resolved and services rendered. They have air conditioned waiting area and a big TV as well as some snacks and soft drinks available for sale. With everything in our economy on the rise this place has not raised their prices at all in years.. amazing respectful service and always looking out for your best interest. I've been smogging all of my vehicles here for years.. In the past the only downside to this place was the awful potholes in the parking lot, however the whole parking lot has been repaved and it is no longer an issue.. AVOID THIS PLACE!!! I bought a used foreign vehicle and brought it here, the guy, the only one who works there fails my smog inspection based on visual inspection of intake hose. He said there was glue on it and he could not pass it until it was fixed or replaced. I've used him before with no problem except this time. After spending over 600.00 on replacing brand new dealer part with a certified smog mechanic I noticed that the part comes with factory adhesive. I took it back to Madison Smog for a recheck. This guy had the gall to tell me that he believed that it was not fixed yet. I pulled out the paperwork and showed it to him. He knew I was pissed and pass the smog inspection under protest. He said car manufacturers don't use adhesives. I told him that he doesn't know anything about manufacturing and that I would never use them ever again. read more

This guy purposely failed my vehicle just to get me out of his shop. Said my check engine light came on - charged me $40. Check engine light turned off 5 min after leaving and hasn't turned back on. He had a small child running around his shop while the boy was yelling at him saying, how horrible he was. The guy kept yelling at the kid to get back inside. Extremely unprofessional !!! They're hard to find (gravel parking lot right after Roseville Road splits off) but they're totally worth it. Amar, the guy who runs the place, knows cars inside and out and isn't the typical smog shop slob who's gonna rip you off. I HATE getting my car smogged, even if it is every two years, but I was in and out of here in less than half an hour with no problems at all. There's a million smog joints around and after trying a few and always saying I need a new one, this is the one I'll keep going to. read more

I was told I couldn't pass smog because my distributor timing was off and that I would need to have it adjusted. Went to another shop and was told it was fine and got a passing smog check from them. He charges $26 for a recheck, and I think he hopes that you will get a pointless adjustment so you can come back and give him a little more money. The shop that I took it to actually told me that they get a lot of his failed customers, and it's usually over really petty things. I went here on a Sunday because they were one of the only shops open. I should've waited. read more

Long story short, I came into the shop to get my car smogged even though I knew it wouldn't pass. I needed the information for the government program and I discussed this with the, Ill just call him the owner. He gave me great information and cautioned me even at the expense of him losing out on business. He was looking out for MY best interest. Integrity is so hard to come across in the business world and especially in mechanics, but this mom and pop shop is the foundation of the real American ideology. This place is horrible! Took my 2014 Silverado in for a smog. This guy failed me because the codes had just been reset. They had been reset because we unhooked the battery to replace the tranny. We thought we had drove it far enough but apparently not. In all of my experience the smog person usually tells us hey you have to drive it further for me to smog it. But this guy would rather get the money and fail me. He also failed the visual inspection because ONE screw was missing off of the air filter cover. Do not go here unless you want to waste your money! read more

Exactly what you'd expect: drive-up smog check station, located on the other side of Madison Ave & open on weekends... Was able to drive up and get my car checked out with not even a 10 minute wait. Friendly guy doing the check, painless process, and thankfully my car passed (yay!!) My only gripe is the bombed-out parking lot that you have to drive through to get to this blink-and-you'll-miss-it spot. Pretty sure my low-profile tires didn't like driving over busted concrete and pavement, but they seemed to survive. :) read more

Don't take your diesel vehicle here. Inspecting a diesel takes soecial knowledge, which the staff here do not have. The young man who inspected my truck failed it because he believed the pipes going to the turbo were a modification. Both the shop that installed them and the manufacturer said they are an OEM replacement that does not need a BAR sticker - but he would not be persuaded. I went to another shop that knows diesels, they passed it. read more

This place is a dump. I just bought 2015 Honda accord which was sitting for a month in seller house and i drove a couple miles and drove to smog shop and I found this place on google for smog check. Then i sent my wife there the guy was there he didn't check before he started to the smog the car if it was ready or not for smog (monitors had not run) and so obviously its failed because its wasn't ready. Then he charged me for it. when my wife asked him why he didn't tell her it was not ready yet. He gave her the very funny answer of ...."I don't have permission to tell the customer whether the car is ready not." in short, I do not recommended this place for smog. read more
