My husband and I stopped by this restaurant to try on the suggestion of our Son! We were greeted warmly and asked where we would like to sit and the Bar had 2 open seats! The bartenders were friendly and asked what we would like to drink and offered some suggestions for dinner in which I chose a shrimp and scallop dish that she highly recommended but they ran out of shrimp but offered to make it with scallops sautéed with garlic! Okay then just serve burgers! Absolutely ridiculous way to run a business Manager told us you can expect long waits due to the summer. Very rustic vibes with multiple entrances so we had to look around for front desk. The appetizer came out quickly but we had to wait a while for the entrees. Calamari breading is crispy and flavorful and came with fried pickled jalapeños. Somehow the pork chop was crispy on the outside but not overcooked inside. We were surprised that there was no wait for a table on Friday night Labor Day weekend and were seated upstairs. A very charming and rustic place with wood beams and surfaces everywhere also makes for lousy acoustics- the place is quite loud. The menu is large and varied with apps, soups, flatbreads, salads, sandwiches, pizza, burgers and entrees. We anticipated both a long wait and probably short staffing but the service here was beyond slow. Our server couldn't have been nicer, but she was being asked to cover way too many tables and was working as fast as is humanly possible. We waited 15 minutes for anyone to stop by after being seated and had more long waits for every aspect of the meal. The panko crusted haddock was good and a large portion. The seafood fra diablo was also plentiful; the lobster was tasty, but the scallops were undercooked. We expected slow service and were very patient throughout, but finally, my patience ran out after the many delays including waiting for more than 20 minutes to receive the check. What's the point of eating out if you leave upset? Note to restaurant manager- you're better off limiting seating when short staffed rather than overwhelming your staff and kitchen and aggravating your customers. read more

Excellent proportion of toppings, cheese, sauce. Veggies are super fresh. Jalapeño burger was...meh. Tasty, but the burger texture and shape was really making it seem like the patty was frozen rather than fresh. And it was called a jalapeño burger, but the jalapeño they included was totally stripped of all its seeds and therefore not spicy at all. Why????? Service: Again this is for takeout. On the phone they were friendly but I was very caught off guard when I initially called and the woman who answered asked me to "wait a few minutes" because "she's using the computer." I felt confused and also unimportant. I asked if I should call back and she said she'd put me on hold. Well after four minutes of being on hold I hung up and just called back. Apparently at that point the computer was available and they could take my order. It was just a bad customer experience - seems like a simple solution is just to take my order over the phone right away and jot it down on paper and then after the call ends then go add it to the computer. Ellacoya was amazing! There are two parking lots on either side of the barn. The barn aspect was so cute and really nice. We waited about 30 minutes for a table which was completely worth it. We checked out the little store next to it and it was also so cute. Like a little general store with booze, snacks, jewelry, a deli, etc. There is so much seating available - bar, downstairs, upstairs, and a little outdoor patio (although it was not open). They can accommodate large parties and only take reservations with parties of 6 or more. We sat upstairs and it was so cute. All wooden and twinkle lights but tasteful. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The drinks took a little long to come out but there was only one bartender so it was understandable. The drinks were great. We tried the Ellacoya classic, bees knees, and a Crown and coke. The food was outstanding. We got bruschetta as an appetizer. I am obsessed with bruschetta and this was hands down the best I ever had. My boyfriend got the steak tips with mash and vegetables. I had the garlic Parmesan chicken with Parmesan risotto and truffle fries. Talk about indulgence. I only ate about half because the portion was great and I got leftovers out of it. Haven't been in a few years pre-Covid, unfortunately the service to get the food to the table took soo long and it wasn't rush hour, showed up at 1:45. We had about a 20 minute wait on a Tuesday evening. There's a little shop in the front to browse while you wait (if you have a wait). We were seated in the bar area at a table which meant there was a lot of traffic coming and going as dining room tables turned over. There's outdoor seating, but it had been raining all day so folks were waiting to sit inside. This may be why we had a wait. We ordered the fish and chips. The halibut piece was huge. The fries are the star of the show. They're just like my mom's homemade fries. 10/10 for those, hands down. We also ordered the chicken marsala. It was excellent. The portion was large and half ended up going home with us for lunch the next day. There are many food options on the menu and anyone can find something they would like. I'll also mention there are daily specials that are worth checking out. When we went, there were $12 pizzas on special and they looked really good! I can't recommend this place for tourists. We were in town on vacation and decided to try this restaurant. We got there when they opened and there were 2 other couples who arrived around the same time. So the restaurant was basically empty but the service was sooo slow. Our drinks took over 20 minutes, and our food another 40 minutes. I had soup and salad and my husband had a burger. My husband wanted to go ask if they forgot about us but I wouldn't let him. I try to be patient and understanding because I have worked in food service. But even when our food was delivered, there was no apology for the delay. But every time I've been since haven't been as good but still better then most places. The last time I went for a birthday, we got there around 7:30-7:40pm - a little before closing at 8, ordered them medium well and after almost 45 minutes (the place was almost empty) they came rare, but since it had taken so long and I had already been driving for hours, I didn't even want new ones.
