Very rustic vibes with multiple entrances so we had to look around for front desk. The appetizer came out quickly but we had to wait a while for the entrees. Calamari breading is crispy and flavorful and came with fried pickled jalapeños. Somehow the pork chop was crispy on the outside but not overcooked inside. Steak tips were tender but the mash was pretty flavorless. I'd recommend the seafood scampi. Lots of seafood with shrimp and lobster.

Coming up for a concert, stopped here, it was a delight. I got the fisherman's platter which was very filling. My family's orders were also very well made. The service was fast and our waitress was extremely nice. Also, the design inside felt classic and was just cozy to sit and eat in. Definitely recommend it if you're in the area.

We were surprised that there was no wait for a table on Friday night Labor Day weekend and were seated upstairs. A very charming and rustic place with wood beams and surfaces everywhere also makes for lousy acoustics- the place is quite loud. The menu is large and varied with apps, soups, flatbreads, salads, sandwiches, pizza, burgers and entrees. We anticipated both a long wait and probably short staffing but the service here was beyond slow. Our server couldn't have been nicer, but she was being asked to cover way too many tables and was working as fast as is humanly possible. We waited 15 minutes for anyone to stop by after being seated and had more long waits for every aspect of the meal. The panko crusted haddock was good and a large portion. The seafood fra diablo was also plentiful; the lobster was tasty, but the scallops were undercooked. We expected slow service and were very patient throughout, but finally, my patience ran out after the many delays including waiting for more than 20 minutes to receive the check. What's the point of eating out if you leave upset? Note to restaurant manager- you're better off limiting seating when short staffed rather than overwhelming your staff and kitchen and aggravating your customers.

Food here was amazing and so was the staff. The french onion soup was top notch and I always get that from anywhere that has it. The inside of the barn was cool and I liked the little booth they had us in. We came hungry and left quite happy. I would recommend to anyone and come back any day!

Ellacoya was amazing! There are two parking lots on either side of the barn. The barn aspect was so cute and really nice. We waited about 30 minutes for a table which was completely worth it. We checked out the little store next to it and it was also so cute. Like a little general store with booze, snacks, jewelry, a deli, etc. There is so much seating available - bar, downstairs, upstairs, and a little outdoor patio (although it was not open). They can accommodate large parties and only take reservations with parties of 6 or more. We sat upstairs and it was so cute. All wooden and twinkle lights but tasteful. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The drinks took a little long to come out but there was only one bartender so it was understandable. The drinks were great. We tried the Ellacoya classic, bees knees, and a Crown and coke. The food was outstanding. We got bruschetta as an appetizer. I am obsessed with bruschetta and this was hands down the best I ever had. My boyfriend got the steak tips with mash and vegetables. I had the garlic Parmesan chicken with Parmesan risotto and truffle fries. Talk about indulgence. I only ate about half because the portion was great and I got leftovers out of it. The prices were fair especially considering portion size. The service was great overall and I would definitely come back!!

All the food was amazing, but definitely come here for the atmosphere. Wonderful lighting and a cozy homemade type feel. Live music in a living room style central area. Friendly staff, definitely a must go when visiting Gilford or Gunstock.

    Salmon

Great place. One of my favorites in the area. Server Olivia was very helpful and friendly. We all enjoyed our meals in this converted barn, plus there was live music as well. The salmon was particularly good. Will be back. One thing to be aware of is to ask for a first floor table if someone in your group can't climb stairs to the second floor. Excellent.

Some of worst food ever. That matches service! The restaurant was also dirty. So bad that we'll never try again.

I don't know if our server was new, or if they were understaffed. I also don't know if the cook was new. At the end, I will tell you why I won't eat there again. Let's start with after we were seated it took a good 5 minutes or more before our server showed up. We almost left, but we had gone to El Tequila first only to learn that they are out of business. Darn! (We loved El Tequila! Tell me if you know, if they left the area or what). I should have known not to eat my food when the server thought I had ordered coke though I ordered lemonade! I have never had anyone ever confuse those! I ordered a Mexican omelet and hash browns (because I was really in the mood for Mexican food)! The omelet was good, but there was no seasoning in the ground beef, certainly not taco meat by any stretch of the imagination! I used all my sour cream (which had a lot of water in the container--does sour cream spoil?). And I used all my salsa. It was the only way I could even get an inkling of Mexican flavor. The hash browns were dripping with oil, so I onky had a couple bites of them. Sad! I drank about half my lemonade and asked for a To Go cup, but that never showed up. I waited as long as I could because the cramping started and I told my daughter, "We gotta get home." (I had the runs!) So, no, we won't be going back to Union diner again. Later I remembered this happened to me once before after eating there, but I had blamed it on the eggs. I think now, it must be the oil they use or something.

This "fancy-like" rustic biker bar & restaurant offers a streamlined food menu featuring pub fare and BBQ options, including St. Louis Slow Smoked Ribs, Smoked Chicken. Pulled Pork, handhelds, burgers, chicken tenders, smoked wings, appetizers, and chocolate chip ice cream sandwich. The prices seem fair, given the popular destination for bikers and tourists. The place is actually not so "fancy" which red painted walls with guitars and black flooring (front section) & hardwood flooring (upper back section) with table seating, high top tables, and seating up at the bar which has flatscreen TVs, but minimal stocked shelves (at the time of visit) at the bar. I stopped by for takeout on a rainy summer night and was able to easily find on-street pay parking near the front of this business, which is harder to find on a nice weather weekend day. The place was empty compared to its other bar next door, which was very busy. I decided to order takeout and ordered The Fancy ($16) handheld served with fries. My order was boxed and ready to go in 10 minutes. The thick sandwich had tender pieces of slow roasted pulled pork topped with a smoky sweet BBQ sauce on a toasted brioche bun, served with thick golden crinkle fries and a cup of creamy slaw. This takeout meal was pretty solid good and filling. I would definitely stop by again during my next trip to the Weirs.
