Elle & Jack's is sublime! Our server, Alicia was perfect in every way. Ask for her if she's working. The ambiance here is impeccable. The decoration and atmosphere is fresh and on point. I had the cucumber mock-tail and it was delightful! The Apple & Burrata salad with candied walnuts was incredible. My wife had one of the specials which was Shrimp and Mussels Diablo pasta. Alicia said it was pretty spicy but could be toned down. My wife preferred that option and adored the gorgeous tasty dish. I had the Jamaican shrimp curry since the chef is from Jamaica. Simply one of the best dishes I've ever had. Perfection. How he doesn't have a James Beard award or Michelin star is beyond me. They had a special chocolate espresso cake for dessert which was outstanding. Alicia and Elle & Jack's served us one of the best meals we've had in years. We just moved to KC after living in Las Vegas for a dozen years. We know good food. Wheeling is so lucky to have this gem. 5 stars feels like too few. Top shelf all the way. Just go. And ask for Alicia. Everything was perfectly timed by her and she's super enthusiastic, energetic and engaging. She's also from my home state. Grew up 40 miles from me. Small world.

I had been wanting to try this place as the photos I'd seen always made the food look delicious. The actually food was better!! I made reservations for my birthday dinner. I got the scallops and my guest got the filet. We both got old fashioned (mine was the wintertime, which was soo good and not as sweet as I was concerned about). The service was great from entrance to leaving. Our server, Alicia, was attentive but not pushy or annoying. She had a great attitude and was all smiles. It was a Tuesday so it was a little slower but still abuzz but easy for conversation. The actual temperature was a bit chilly but the atmosphere was warm. Highly recommend and would love to return!

I was expecting great things after reading all the reviews but unfortunately, our meal was pretty lackluster. We really wanted to try the arancine appetizer, but were told they were out. Then for dessert we wanted two orders of Bananas Foster bread pudding, but were told they only had one left. The entrees and other stuff we were able to get were ok, but nothing special. Overall, disappointing.

WOW... am I really in WV? Elle and Jack's is amazing - a far departure from my previous dining experiences in WV. The restaurant itself has a very cool decor. The environment was a tad noisy but super upbeat and almost electric. The service was spot on. The food... was amazing - for an appetizer, we had the blue cheese dip, and wifie is still talking about it - delicious. I had the scallops, which were awesome. Wifie had the burger, which she loved. I am convinced this is the place for dinner in Wheeling, WV...

I love this place my husband and I have been here three times and soon to be our fourth for his birthday! The food is amazing and you feel like you're on vacation! The ambiance is chill!

Long time valley resident I finally stopped by and from the start it was a neat little place. That is where it ended. A birthday celebration was ruined by poor quality food. The filet was more steamed than grilled, curry shrimp had tails on it still gnocchi was unpleasant. Muscles were farmed lastly the chicken tasted gamey and boiled. Sad $200+ dinner for four.

One of the biggest reasons we chose it was because they advertised a dog-friendly patio. Before being seated, my husband specifically went inside to speak with the hostess because rain was expected soon. The hostess acknowledged the forecast, and my husband said we were completely fine sitting under the patio umbrellas as long as the restaurant was okay serving us outside. She assured us that it was not a problem. We were seated on the patio and intentionally looked through the menu quickly because we wanted to minimize the server having to come outside in the rain. When the server came out, she immediately commented about the weather and was clearly upset about having to serve the patio. We were sympathetic and tried to be as easygoing as possible. What happened next was honestly bizarre. She pulled out her notepad and just stared down at it without saying a word. We ordered drinks and then sat there in silence waiting for any kind of acknowledgment or follow-up like, "What would you like to eat?" After about 15 awkward seconds, she finally looked up visibly irritated. I ordered, she wrote it down without saying anything else, and then stormed back inside. At that point, we decided we no longer felt welcome. We brought the waters back inside and told her she could cancel the order. Her response was simply, "Are you sure?" The entire interaction consisted of maybe six words total from our server. We later called to let the manager know what happened. While they did apologize, the only solution offered was for us to place a to-go order instead. That completely missed the point. We weren't looking for free food or special treatment -- we just expected basic hospitality after being explicitly told they were happy to serve the patio despite the weather. This entire situation could have been avoided if the restaurant had simply told us upfront that patio service during the rain was an issue.

Great Food, Great Server Livia, great atmosphere, great location, and cleanliness was great. But…read morefor my wife's and I anniversary I wanted to play the junk box at 4:45 PM on March 10, 2026, to play Music Groups, Aerosmith, "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing", and Savage Garden, "I Knew I Loved You". So I approached the juke box, and the bar tender Whoever said, that this is a family-owned restaurant, and they don't play the juke box during the day, because it is a family restaurant, but they have the Game Room, playing crude country music that doesn't respect the family, and they say my music is going make trouble. Plus they can have restricted stuff from not playing, instead, I felt singled out as a guest there. Yes, you can have your double standard rules, because this is America, and the freedom to do whatever you feel like, but that does not mean I have to go there to be singled. I don't have to go back there. The first time was great in January, but on my wife and I anniversary of 26 years, I think I can find a place where I feel more welcomed. It is always the case of passing a great place down through the family, in order for it feel unwelcomed of the glory days. Yes, I know this place has been around since the 1990's, but it is a very unwelcoming place. You can act nice, while showing you didn't want us there. They said it was because Karaoke was at 7PM, while a minute song at 4:45PM. While they didn't even know what songs I was going to place. Again, I thought it would be an old-fashioned feel. Thus instead, I felt the Cold Ridged Religious Feel that was a double standard of Gambling Rooms and so forth. Yes, I went to seminary and everything else, but I am going to let everyone choose their own path. They have their ridged rules, but that does not mean I have to eat there, especially for anniversaries. It is not an anniversary or a place for specially occasions. Again, it doesn't bother me one bit, because I move on, but I am raised with certain values to tell what I believe. My wife felt the onion soup was too breaded and cheesy. They had a great Salad and Gluten Free Pizza. And the bathrooms are clean when I went in there, but I don't feel welcomed there. Like you're a stranger that should never return. I just wonder.

Fantastic I like…read moretotally flew by the seat of my pants when I planed the West Virginia portion of our trip. Wheeling seemed to be somewhere in the vicinity of our drive to Morgantown tomorrow so I decided to stay the night. Looking for a place for dinner, I stumbled upon this place on Yelp in wheeling. Little did I know what an iconic place this is. We arrived at 5:15 on a Wednesday evening bc we are getting old. A couple leaving at 5:15 made us see our future. We were fortunately seated immediately. The inside is SO CUTE. I can't get enough of it. It felt like such an authentic Italian experience. Our server was incredible. So nice, personable, helpful. We started with our beverage orders. I went with a little something off their cocktail menu the elderflower martini which, exactly as I expected, was way more like spiked juice than a "martini" but I wouldn't want it any other way. Don't think I wasn't intrigued by the fried cheese but we have been eating a fair amount of that lately so instead of offering an app, I opted for an entree (stuffed rigatoni) and a side of broccoli. GF ordered fettuccine with red clam sauce. She got a house salad and I didn't for some reason. The broccoli was seasoned wonderfully but the texture wasn't as crisp as I would have liked. The rigatoni and the house sauce was ORGASMIC. That sauce is incredible I would gladly buy it by the jar. The rigatoni were al dente pillows of creamy ricotta heaven. Spectacular. GF regarding her red clam sauce pasta, "delicious". We also ordered the tiramisu to go so stay tuned on that.

Our waitress was friendly and went above and beyond the whole time we were there. They give you bread and butter with your meal and it was really good. I ordered wedding soup and ate every last bite or sip of it. For my entree I went with the classic spaghetti and meatballs and it was delicious. The sauce was perfect and they sell jars of it that you can take home with you. I had a great experience here and will definitely be back.
