This was our first outing for breakfast and Elmer's Restaurant came out with some great ratings - we just had to try the place out. First, we're new to the Portland/Beaverton area. I'm a major fan of breakfast and really enjoy going out on the weekends to splurge on dining in. Arriving there was about a 15 minute wait for four people - which did not seem too long since the place was very busy. The menu offers a wide variety of food and the produce is used locally which provides a "helping the community" feel to your meal. I took my time and choose the honey wheat pancakes with bananas and cranberries. The meal also came with eggs and your choice of bacon, sausage or an apple turkey sausage. The food was perfect and more than I could eat in one sitting. The meal came with four pancakes and two eggs - which were fluffy and perfectly scrambled. My honey ordered the biscuits and gravy and consumed the whole plate. Overall the service and experience were great for a new visit. We've definitely established Elmer's as a place to continue going to. Next on my list of items to try will be the french toast. read more

Have only eaten here for breakfast, so that is the basis of my review. Service is always on point. It does get busy on the weekends, but we have never waited more than 10-15 minutes. The sun rise omelet is my absolute favorite and usually my go to. There is the right amount of bacon and cheese to not be overwhelming. The avocado always looks and tastes fresh, no browning. My husband usually gets the Cinnamon Roll pancakes. These are so good!! I usually steal a few bites from his plate:) I feel like they would be an awesome late night snack to satisfy my sweet tooth! read more

In general, I've found this place to be pretty consistent. Not so good today, however. The coffee tasted terrible, the biscuit under my gravy was so hard I couldn't even cut it with my fork in some places, my eggs were not cooked over medium as I requested, the hashbrowns were undercooked on the inside, my daughter's French toast sticks were overbaked... Anyway, you get the picture. I would probably give it two stars except that our server was good, my husband's Egg Benedict was decent, and I have had good experiences in the past. Will update if we ever come here again, although that will probably be in a little long while, if ever. read more

Super good food & service! This was my first time here and our server, Enrique, was so friendly, fast, and considerate (he brought us to-go coffee cups at the end of our meal). The Crabacado Omelette was the best omelet I've ever had! Order hash browns with "the works" (they add green onions, bacon, & sour cream). Extremely bad service...waited twice as long for table than was initially told, then was sat in a dining room with a/c in full blast, everyone wearing coats, and waited at my table for 10 more minutes to be asked for my drink order only because the waitress was on break. Empty seats all around and a line out of the door making everyone wait. They have decent food but I question management and the experience is not worth your time. read more

This is not usually my preference in Pallet pleasing and teasing foods, however i was extremely pleased when We walked in the door and found a warm crackling fire place. Our server Sara was extremely friendly and Attentive, she allowed me to "edit" my order and substitute items without hassle. This is a Great restaurant if you are looking for comfort food and or food that takes you back to a more worry free time. This chain provides some healthy alternatives for those who are interested. Our server was awesome, the food...not so much...the picture i posted was their seafood feast...mmph...lookin like an anorexic frozen fish STICKS (like the ones we got in grade school) basket. 3 fish sticks, 3 large shrimps and not even a handful of fries as you can see in the pic. Btw, that's without me even taking a bite. The clam chowder was soupy. Waited half hour for this...yea, i probably won't be back. 2 stars are for the server. Our HOA held their Annual Meeting at this location this morning and WOW such amazing service! One cannot make a reservation for a meeting room and both were full, but our server Trent hustled to be sure we got into a room as soon as possible. Then he made sure water, menus and coffee were quickly distributed so we could get our orders in and begin our meeting. The food came out quickly and our various food substitutions were all perfect and delicious! Came here for a Sunday breakfast. The place was busy but we were seated within 5 minutes. Our server was friendly but scarce. We waited a long time for our food, about 35 to 45 minutes. The food was good but nothing out of the ordinary. The highlight was the German pancake. I would recommend trying one of these. I'm not really a breakfast person, because of the restaurants! They're usually over crowded and the servers are almost always rude. This place is completely different! The wait was supposed to be 20 mins, it was only 9 or 10 mins. The staff was really polite and welcoming, not stressed at all even though they were busy. Plus there was enough space for me to sit without feeling like a sardine. On top of that, the natural light in the place was great. The food was great as well, both in taste and how long it took to get to me. I'll definitely be coming back. read more

This morning I went there with two other adults and four kids. I haven't been here in about 8 years or so because I had a horrible experience last time. This time proved to be just as bad. We had to send 3 things back for it being made completely wrong (no onions, eggs were extremely under cooked, etc) and one wasn't even the correct item that was ordered (ordered French toast and got crepes). The waitress didn't seem very concerned and neither did the gal who checked us out. She asked, " how was your breakfast?" I answered politely cut honestly and she just ignored me. Great service, tasty and well prepared food, and the portion sizes were already quite good, compared with some other places we have been (quantity over quality) They also do half-sizes on almost everything, so future meals will be even more belly-friendly. Came here for a quick breakfast because I didn't want to drive into the heart of Portland. Never been here before but I sought on trip advisor and thought I'd give it a shot. It was cute unassuming building in the wait time wasn't terrible! My four year old and I were seated and the server came promptly. I ordered hot chocolate and water.... the hot chocolate cake and the water didn't. We proceeded to order our food. I. Have the bagel eggs Benedict and my son got bacon and hashbrowns. You really can't mess up either of those dishes so they were decent and I enjoyed the holindae sauce. I ordered my husband biscuits and gravy to go and the nice server said she would put it in right before we left. Well we are finished with our food and I asked for the check went out front to pay and the biscuits and gravy werent on there. She came up to me and said oh sorry I forgot to put in the order and I didn't charge you for the biscuits and gravy. At that time I just figured I was in a rush and didn't want to wait for the food to be done. The price was good so I paid and left. I wouldn't return but I don't regret going considering it was decent.. The server needs to be a little more on it and customer service can be a little bit better. read more

I stayed at the Homewood Suites and Elmer's was across the street. I went there quite often. The fish and chips are outstanding. Also, they have these great Finnish pancakes that you can't find at many places. It's like a crepe the size of the plate. Scrumptious. I have today the service is great. I told one of the waitresses I was from out of town here to help my son through surgery. At the end of the meal, she said she bought my meal. Just thinking about her kindness makes me weepy. read more

I was so happy to see an Elmer's reopening and it was worth driving to Beaverton. Everyone was very conscientious about seating with social distancing in mind. My server was Trent and he was terrific! I had the delicious crab salad, which was delicious. Elmer's is to me what Denny's or IHOP should be. I wish we had one nearer to home. Not haute cuisine but reliable casual diner fare with a great menu. We stay nearby when in Portland so often eat breakfast here. My wife likes the German pancakes, I like their biscuits and gravy or chicken fried steak. The coffee is decent and the service is fine. To be honest, I had very low expectations for this place. My friend and I and headed here for breakfast since we were staying at the nearby Hilton. It was early and I was exhausted, but knew I wanted to eat. I didn't have a taste for anything, but was intrigued by these "German pancakes." I ordered one with berries. It was Sunday morning but it was before 9AM so we didn't have to wait. The menu is pretty comprehensive with regards to sweet or savory but also using a lot of local ingredients. The clientele ranged from young to old with families, singles, and couples. Service was very accommodating and clear. We went with the potato pancakes which contained bacon, onions, and the eggs came just a little underdone for over medium. I had the crabacado omelette which definitely had plenty of dungeness crab along with bacon, avocado, and tomatoes, covered in hollandaise.
