I take my 325i to Elmhurst BMW for service. In the past 18 months that has included brake work, oil changes, brake fluid changes, serpentine belt, window washer pump , and a few other maintenance items. I prefer to keep my car well maintained and the service dept at this dealership has done an excellent job each and every time I've visited. Joel in service is my current service advisor. I would have given this place zero stars, but that was not an option. Our son recently purchased a used Jeep Grand Cherokee from this dealership. He even purchased the extended warranty. No more than 2-3 weeks after he purchased the vehicle, the check engine light came on. After taking the vehicle to a Jeep dealer for diagnostics, we were told the repairs were quite extensive and were going to cost over $1,000 and are not covered by the bumper to bumper extended warranty. In an effort to help our son, we reached out to the BMW dealer we purchased it from. After some discussion, we were told by Elmhurst BMW to bring the vehicle in and they would fix it, but low and behold after they had the car in their shop for 2 days, they called us and told us that they have decided not to fix it after all and that we would have to pay for the repairs. Absolutely terrible way to treat a customer. We will never do business with this dealership again! read more

My experience at Elmhurst BMW has been the worst car buying experience in a series of purchases that have included a Mercedes and several other BMW's. It started with the day the lease agreement was signed. I had made an arrangement with one of the sales reps that I would stop by the dealership over the weekend to sign lease papers in advance of the lease start date as this was the only time I could stop by. Since the sales rep with whom I initially made this arrangement was not working that day, I was told he would inform his co-worker of all the details and that I could just sign the papers with him. Unfortunately, when I arrived at the dealership, the co-worker new little detail regarding the arrangement and I was told signing lease papers in advance was not possible. His attitude was poor and his demeanor rude. It took speaking with a manager and waiting nearly 2 hours to get the deal done. I almost left and decided to go to another dealership but ended up signing the lease papers and picking up the car 2 weeks later. Had the aforementioned incident been all, that would have been understandable. However, less than 2 weeks after having the car, there was an engine problem (something with the drive train that caused low engine power) and the car would frequently stall. This was, of course, very frustrating. When I contacted the dealership and my sales rep, there was little sympathy. The sales rep had little understanding of customer service, was rude, and advised me to contact BMW Assist. When I did this, the nearest dealership was unable to service my car and provide a loaner for 3 weeks. I called Elmhurst back and spoke with the manager who also expressed little understanding for how frustrating this could be after having just purchased a new car. I was told, "It's a machine. These things happen." Though I understand and agree with this statement, when having purchased a luxury car, I don't think it's wrong to expect a little customer service and a better attitude when dealing with your sales rep and dealership manager. After dropping my car off at the dealership, I was told the defective part was some fuel module that was not working properly. It took several follow-up questions and quite a bit of time on the phone with the service rep to find out that the part was actually known to be faulty and was no longer being installed in newer models. After asking why customers were not told of this, he mentioned that not all parts were improperly functioning. The service rep mentioned that he knew about it because a memo was distributed to service centers. I was told a new part would be available in one week and that I would have my car back at that time. A week after when I was supposed to get my car, there was no explanation why the part never arrived. I was just told with each phone call that the part had not yet arrived and there was no additional information of when it would arrive. The BMW center that distributed the part was not getting back to the service rep. It took getting a service manager involved to finally get the part and my car back. I'm not sure why this was not done sooner. I finally got my car back three weeks later. After only 2 days, the same problem recurred and the engine stalled. The car is now back at the dealership and I am waiting to hear back when I will get my car back. Of the 2 months I have had this car, it has spent nearly half the time at the dealership. I have had to make frequent trips back and have been met with poor customer service and bad attitudes. I will never purchase another vehicle from Elmhurst BMW, nor will I recommend this to any of my friends or colleagues. I am seriously reconsidering whether I will purchase another BMW at all in the future. read more

My wife was looking for a 328ix GT. We found one at the dealer closest to our home and wanted some concessions, but the salesman would not give anything. Not having a good feeling about the deal I researched the same model and was directed to Elmhurst BMW. Michal Banach contacted us and, over the phone, agreed to sell us the same car with added upgrades for basic the same price as the first deal. When we inquired about other things, Mike worked and gave us a better deal. Bill from finance got us a great finance rate, we did check with other banks. I'm sure the dealership and Mike made money on the deal, after all this is their business and without profits, they'd go bankrupt. But what made this a good experience is that they gave us things also. We're happy and feel the dealership worked with us for the sale. We came in as customers and left as friends. Today I went to Elmhurst BMW to purchase a vehicle, Josh Douglas lied to me about the price of two vehicles stating the were both $10,500 when they had not gone through inspection yet and were not priced. He had no interest in helping me find a vehicle and treated me like I was lower class. Then I spoke with the sales manager Nicholas Psaros who told me that the vehicle that I was interested in was not inspected, when I got home 25 minutes later I see the vehicle on their website.I am beyond disgusted with the treatment that I received from the staff at Elmhurst BMW. They were helping all of their other customers but not the Latina customer, I haven't experienced racism in a long time until today. read more

Not sure where all these positive reviews about this place came from all of the sudden if i could give this place less than one star i would because they truly haven't earned a single star in my book... this is the absolute worst place to take your BMW to be serviced/repaired. I should have read the reviews on the bottom of the Yelp page about this dealership. If you live in the area i highly recommend taking your car else ware. I ended up taking it to a friends shop in Morton Grove (NCA Motorsports) who did a great job for $450. (Estimate from BMW was over $3000 total for everything that was "wrong" with my car. This dealership has lied directly to my face on multiple occasions. The new management at this dealership is absolutely horrendous. One of the associates, Joel, is an absolute degenerate scum who will lie to you if he feels you don't know about BMW parts. Probably the most rude and classless salesperson I have come into contact with...would not even look my father or I in the eyes while speaking to us. I had originally taken my car in to repair a faulty fuel pump (Which is covered under warranty by BMW.) They lied directly to my face repeatedly saying i did not qualify. I had to psychically print out a copy of the statement from BMW offering the warranty and after many unreturned phone calls they agreed to fix the issue under warranty. My car broke about 5 minutes after driving home from the dealership. I had it towed back to them to find out apparently my car had a plethora of nonexistent issues that needed to be fixed before they worked on the car. After they ran the codes it was the same issue and they had not fixed it to begin with. After waiting about two weeks i finally got my car back and was told that they had driven it around town and no issues had arisen. I drove off the lot and onto the highway to yet again have it break down on me. Had it towed back for the 3rd time and it just got worse. The "Foreman" was rarely available and always out on lunch and the "Service Technician" was always in school and could not work on my car for a period of two plus weeks. I'm not sure why they hired a service tech who hasn't completed schooling? They lied about giving me a courtesy car (still never received a loaner over the course the month+ time my car was with them) and to top it all off I told them i would be coming in to pick up the car and have it towed else-ware....and the ELMHURST BMW DEALERSHIP LOST MY KEYS....they showed no remorse and seemed to have a great chuckle over it and justified themselves and their unprofessional behavior my notifying me that they were not going to charge me for the new key... that they lost...long story short i had a blown head gasket and the oil filter housing has some issues... Elmhurst BMW told me they needed to replace the entire fuel rail (which is unheard of on these cars.),as well as, fuel sensors, get new tires, ignition switch, and other issues listed on the invoice, none of which needed any form of fixing whatsoever and would total $1500+ (on top of what i had already payed them) and that there would be no guarantee my car would be fixed after paying them what they wanted. Please save yourself the headache of dealing with these unprofessional deceitful crooks at Elmhurst BMW. If you are in the area i would recommend taking your BMW to FluidMotorUnion in Naperville or if you're willing to travel take it to Tony at NCA Motorsports in Morton Grove. read more

First let me explain that the 3 star rating is because I have yet to purchase a car. However, when I stopped in to this BMW dealership back in March of 2018, I was greeted immediately, which is something I can appreciate. Josh Hatzigiannis, salesperson has been undoubtedly patient with me as a potential buyer. Even though my indecisiveness has yet yielded to purchasing a car, Josh still takes all my calls and answers every email I send professionally and willingly. Maybe it's because he wants my sale, or he's just a professional at what he has chosen to do in life (I'm going with the latter). Although I'm still in the waiting for the right time to purchase, I brought my sister in to purchase a 2015 5-series, and the purchasing process was no hassle, due to Josh! Louie was fantastic! He came right up to assist us even though we had our two young kids with us..which can make things challenging. In fact, he was great with the kids and our entire buying process was a breeze. All your staff were very accommodating and took the time to explain each part of the process. Even after we purchased the car, Louie was available to assist us with our questions. We stopped back in a week later for a few questions and Louie was again extremely helpful. I was on the hunt for my first BMW. I looked around for a good two months. I was looking for used only. I found one privately with the coral red leather interior and I fell in love with it. But the price for that car wasn't right. I kept looking in hope to find the perfect car and I found it at elmhurst BMW. It's a black 328xi e92 with the red leather interior. I requested more info and the following day Mr. Michal Banach followed up with me and I made sure to schedule a test drive as soon as possible. We came in and he was very professional and polite. The only thing on the car that was bad was the rear left shock but Michal made a deal with us that was included in the price. The service department was going to replace both rear shocks, completely free of charge. They called us within the next two days and scheduled an appointment for the following week. We were in good hands with Mr. John Gonwa. He was also very polite and made sure all of our requests were taken care of. I highly recommend him for the elmhurst BMW service dept. There is now no noise at all as there was prior to the springs being replaced. Michal gave us a really good deal, we couldn't turn it away. We'd highly recommend elmhurst BMW and especially Michal in sales and John in service. Exceptional. Very pleasant car buying experience. I'm so glad I got this car. I'm in love with it. Just purchased a BMW with Eugene. I never thought that I could afford a BMW, I believed that this car was out of my budget. Eugene was honest and very knowledgeable about the car. He was not pushy or did not make me feel that I had to buy a car. From the test drive to driving off the lot with the car, it took less than 3-1/2 hours which in my opinion was very fast (speaking of past buying experiences, it took most of the day). This dealer stinks. I made a deal when I was out of town over the phone and asked for final pricing. When I went to pick up the car it had significant paint damage all over the vehicle that was not disclosed. Then the trade in amount changed as well. the worst dealer i have ever visited. i bought new 2014 bmw x5 and they just want the customer to buy, they dont know all the features available. after i bought the car, it is worst than my toyota corolla, as it dont have any features. when i ask them, they say that i did not opt for. that is true, but as a dealer they have to let customer know about the features which just cost a couple of hundred dollars. now i cannot get any features as they are factory installed. first thing they dont know what features they have..every time i ask they will google it or they visit the site. they made a wrong calculation of 2000 dollars..luckily i figured that out. better stay out of this dealer...after you buy...yoy have to suffer... read more

Just leased a 2015 BMW 328ix from Elmhurst BMW. I've bought and leased BMWs from Fields, Knauz , Pierillo and Bill Jacobs over the last 40 years. Elmhurst BMW dealership my appear small in size compared to these other dealers but their selection of bimmers can't be matched. At Elmhurst I worked with Eugene Roye, he is professional, courteous, well inform, very responsive and knowledge about BMW the car and company . These professional attributes helped to get a deal done on one of their BMW. We emailed for over a month on financing programs, available cars and pricing. Eugene was quick in reply to any questions I had. It was a pleasure to lease a car through him. The only other dealer that put this amount of time into getting me in the right BMW was Bill Jacobs BMW but Eugene got the sale because he worked harder. The purchase process was a breeze, Eugene and Bill Pfeffer had everything ready when I got there and went so smoothly I kept waiting for something to go wrong... But it didn't. They even have a BMW genius, Devon Hunter who helped me with all the technology features on the car.easy instructions for things that seemed complicated. He even offered another session if I needed more help with the nav system. In summary if you a good price, helpful people in a smaller dealer atmosphere.... This is the place for you. So my car wont start and lights would flicker everytime I cranked it. I suspected the battery and took it to Autozone and they said it was a bad battery. I contact the dealer (as it was under warranty) and they said that I cannot carry in the old battery and swap for a new one, I have to bring my car and they will charge $68.50 'diagnostic' fees to test my battery. If the battery is bad then they will waive the fees but if it is something else they I owe them the fees. I agreed and took my car. After 3 hours the service guy called me and said the battery is bad and they will give me a new battery...I dont have to pay the 'diagnostic' fees as it is covered by the warranty and if I want them to install the battery it would be $68.50 (rate for half hour)...The warranty did not cover installation as originally I had installed the battery myself. So I declined the offer as I have replaced batteries before and it takes only 5 minutes. The guy hangs up and call me right away and tells me that in order for me to get the new battery I have to give them the old battery and I said I will do that. He hangs up and calls me back right away and tells me that I wont be able to take the new battery with me as he was not sure I will bring back the old battery so I told him that I will swap the battery in the parking lot. He hangs up and calls me back right away and tells me that they will not let me swap batteries in the parking lot due to liabilities...so I said I will take my car somewhere without the new battery..remove the old battery...bring it to them and get the new battery...he said that he will have to check with the manager and make sure I can do this...by this time it was evident that they needed the $68.50 from me (to cover their service costs ofcourse). The guy calls me back again and tells me that I wont be able to do that...IF I don't get the battery installed there then as soon as I take my car I owe them $68.50 for the diagnostic fees. But I told the guy that the fees was due only if the battery was not bad..but the test determined that the battery is bad so the warranty for the battery should cover it....he said that the manager is not agreeing to this. They put me in a situation where if I take the car to my place to pull out the old battery I still owe them the diagnostic fees OR I can pay $68.50 and get the battery installed by them....either way I HAVE to pay $68.50....they were so desperate to take the money out from me...the guy even said that it was not possible for BMW to test the battery alone and find out if it is bad or not...the whole car has to be here..so I told him that you being 'BMW' dont have something that Autozone or similar stores have...they can tell you in 2 minutes if the battery is bad or not. The guy kept on saying it is BMW 'policy' ....at that point I stopped arguing with that guy as I wanted to go in personally and talk to the manager. So, I reach there and met Larry the service director...the guy repeated the same bullshit....and told me that I should go back to the original dealer that I purchased the battery from....this pissed me off even more...as I left my car for 3 hours plus the argument for 1 hour and driving back and forth was another 2 hours...so I wasted my 6 hours for nothing. He knew that the game was up they cannot fool me unlike some gullible BMW owners who are made to think they have to spend more money as they drive a BMW...total CRAP. Anyways I did not budge as they left me no choice and even lied to me saying that the original $68.50 that I agreed to pay (diagnostic fees in case the battery is not bad) was actually for installation and as the installation was not done by a dealer originally, the warranty will not cover it. Finally he HAD to give me the battery...I drove my car a block away from the dealer...took out the old battery..came back to the dealer and got the new battery without paying a single penny...they did not deserve even half a penny. I will NEVER get my car serviced there and I will stop as many people from dealing with those liars and thieves. I talked to Cory the day before and he seemed to be good. read more
