I recently bought a used car through this dealership, and it was a surprisingly pleasant. I went through their internet sales guy, a somewhat phlegmatic fellow named Eugene. The whole process was very low-key, and the dealership itself was very comfortable, without the blaring club music that most other dealerships seem to use to keep you slightly disoriented. During the actual sale I was assured that the advertised price was already the 'best price', but of course that's never the case, and a bit of very restrained negotiation ensued with a resulting modest reduction in price. After the purchase I discovered that the passenger side mirror camera wasn't working; apparently that mirror/camera had been replaced and the repair shop had failed to calibrate it. After bringing this to the attention of Eugene he said he'd have the dealership cover the cost of repairs if it wasn't covered by the remaining warranty. It turned out he was as good as his word and I received a check from the dealership almost immediately after sending them a copy of the bill. I was surprised and impressed with that. With the current shortage of cars I had spent a lot of time looking, and had the opportunity of interacting with a number of dealerships, and I'll have to say that Elmhurst BMW really stood out in being customer-focused and in creating a pleasant, non-aggressive environment. Stay Away!!! Their customer service and friendliness is outrages! Had an issue with their website and while back when I applied for credit at this branch on their website. I was hit with 4 hard hits on my credit score. Their website is misleading to the customers. I spoke with their Fiance person Scott, he wasn't being understanding of my concern, would talk over me and just told me speak with their IT department if I have a problem with their website. He had an attitude with me. I am going to file a formal complaint against this dealership and how they treat people. Thankfully I live in the area and do professional car detailing. My wife was in search of a new/used car. She has been looking for months for that perfect car. She came across a used BMW that she liked and contacted the dealership. Anthony Whitlock called my wife and gave her all the information on the vehicle. We met with Anthony after 6pm and they close at 7 on a Friday night. Not once did he try to rush us with a decision but made us very comfortable with the whole process. There were a few things that needed to be done to the car since they just got it certified. He said that he'd call us on Tuesday to pick up Thursday. Over the weekend, my wife fell for a different model that she found. Horrible place to service your BMW! Normally, I don't take my vehicle into a dealership for my servicing needs. BMW issued a couple of recalls recently and since it is being paid for by BMW, I had no choice but to take it into a nearby BMW Dealership for service. I regret that I chose Elmhurst BMW. Their service advisors are dishonest, they lie to your face with no shame, they make promises that they can't keep and they are poor communicators. I made an appointment to come in at 8:00 AM. I sacrificed my sleep to wake up at 6:00 AM on that day. After I Checked in at the dealer for my recall repair work, the service advisor convinced me to get a loaner for that day since the repairs are expected to take at most 6 hours. I made it clear to him that I intended to pickup my car the same day. He said he would call me around lunch time to let me know about the progress. I received no calls whatsoever. I called at 12:30PM and left message on his voicemail. I called again an hour later and he would not pickup the phone. He also refuses to return phone calls. After several more tries, I finally talked to him on the phone around 2:00PM. He said the technician is finishing up the work on one of the recalls and nothing is done on the other ro. By this time, I had waited 6 hours (at home) and it should have been long enough to finish all the repairs assuming they started the work soon after I left the dealer. Instead, I find out that the car sat in their lot all morning. What is the point of making an appointment and coming in so early if they are not going to check in your car right away and assign it to a technician to work on soon after? They said they had a backlog of repair work from the day before. Why is this my problem? Why overcommit to your customers with false promises that you cannot keep? I returned the loaner and picked up my car around 3:00PM without the second recall repair work completed. They have issues with scheduling, coordinating and most of all POOR COMMUNICATION, and setting expectations. I would stay away from this dealership until they cleanup their act! read more

Eugene was quick, prompt, polite, honest, fair and persuasive. He wanted to make a sale and wanted me to get a good deal. It worked out for both of us. He made sure he knew what I wanted exactly, shared information that would help me make a decision (such as KBB ratings, warranty information, etc.). It is absolutely one of the worst BMW dealerships I have ever seen and dealt with... Their service advisors are scumbags! They lie to your face or on the phone without any shame! I called to speak with a service advisor to schedule an appointment for diagnostics on my vehicle. I asked how much it would be for a visual inspection as well as hooking up to their diagnostics computer to get the error codes if any... His response was "well, it does not work like that....", "it is like going to a doctor...". Still no price is disclosed over the phone. Do you do any visual inspections (5 point, 10 point etc) to see if there are any leaks Or other problems? "No, we don't do that ...". Do you hook it up to your computers in the shop to run the diagnostics? "No, we don't do that either...". Well, what do you do? "you tell us what is wrong with your vehicle and we check it out....". UNBELIEVABLE! DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE FOR REPAIRS OR ANYTHING ELSE! read more

Super disappointed with a simple oil change and a wheel replacement. I purchased a new BMW from Elmhurst BMW back in Dec. 2015. I had a great experience with my sales consultant. So for the past two years I've been taking my car for service at Elmhurst BMW. However, this time it will be the last time I take my car to that dealership. There's a new group of employees at Elmhurst BMW and no one appears to be devoted to doing things correctly. Here's my most recent experience. I'm told the car is ready and I go out to do my walk around inspection and the first thing I notice is a 10" scratch on my back bumper. I point this out to Joel and he's goes "we didn't do this". They inspected the car when I arrived so why was this not noted on the paperwork? When you look at my car even if you don't know anything about detailing work you know this is a very clean car. Rather than Joel saying I see nothing is noted on the paperwork let me look into it for you. No, Joel goes without any pause "we didn't do this". I washed my car the night before going to get my oil change and wheel replacement. My car is kept in a garage and was not driven anywhere prior to going to the Elmhurst BMW dealership. My car's paint is highly maintained by me and I know every stone chip and mark on my paint. It's very simple, I know they caused the scratch. But they completely deny it. I open my driver side car door and there is a big glob of grease or oil on my floor mat. I get home and I'm thinking I should check under the hood. Of course, spilled oil running down the side of the engine near the oil fill hole. I do not plan on going to Elmhurst BMW again and I will not recommend them as a place to purchase or service your vehicle. read more

Bought a Mercedes from this dealer in the evening so I could really inspect the car thoroughly because it was dark outside. When I drove it the next morning I noticed there were two chips in the windshield. I called the dealership and they said to bring it in to be repaired it would only take 30 minutes. I came early for my appointment waited over an 1 1/2 with no updates so I asked what was taking so long they said my vehicle would be next and that it would be an additional 1/2 hour. So over two hours I waited to get my windshield fixed which should have been done and fixed prior to my buying the vehicle. Glad I won't have to deal with them again and will be dealing with Mercedes going forward. If you buy a vehicle from a dealership and there is a defect you should get priority to have it fixed. read more

Frustrating dealer to work with. In mid-November, 2019, my friend was interested in a 2015 Cadillac SRX. Listed price was $19,792. Our salesperson was Jimmy. After test driving the car my friend made an offer of $19,000 plus wanted the driver's seat warmer repaired and to include a tire infation kit as it was missing from the vehicle. Jimmy and the used car manager, Brian, agreed to repair the seat warmer and obtain a tire inflation kit, however, countered at $19,300 saying they were already losing money on the vehicle. Ya right. We informed Jimmy that we would not go to $19,300. We had been there at least a couple of hours. Before leaving we informed Jimmy that we were sure the car would not be sold for $19,300 and were sure they would lower their price again in the future. They, of course, said no way could they go below $19,300. We said they could sell the car to us today and be done with it. They refused. So of course, 7 weeks later, they have now lowered the price to $18,792 which was $208 less than what we offered. Ridiculous. There's a reason why car salesmen and their managers cannot be trusted. Glad we walked, glad their poor decisions came back to make them lose even more $ on the car. Would never recommend this dealer to anyone if that's how they operate. read more

I purchased a BMW 3 Series here, had the vehicle serviced for 4 years and test drove a new BMW. In my experience with Elmhurst BMW, the service staff did not always employ good customer service and I didn't always feel like a welcome customer. I also had an issue with the service department where in my opinion, a problem covered under warranty was not correctly diagnosed until it was severe and out of warranty. I'm not an automotive specialist but I am an engineer and the specifics of the problem did indicate that it existed before it was officially diagnosed. I ultimately appealed to BMW and they along with the dealership conceded some of my points and made additional concessions that we all agreed to. I probably wouldn't directly recommend them but I wouldn't steer totally clear of them either. My recommendation would be what I am going to do. Visit some of the other BMW dealerships in the Chicago area a few times and compare experiences. read more

I recently purchased my second car from this dealer. In both cases, it was a very good experience. I have also had BMW regular maintenance performed at this dealer with no problems. My first experience was in early 2013. While exploring outside financing for a car purchase I was about to make, I inadvertently signed up for a car buying service. The next business day I received a barrage of calls from different dealers. One of those calls was from Eugene, the on line sales manager for Elmhurst BMW. Initially, trying to put him off, I asked him to call me back in a week. I believe I received that call back on the exact hour, a week later. We had a nice conversation at that time and he told me he had a demo version of the exact car I was looking for coming into inventory. We met later that day and made a deal. I thought the price of the car and my trade in allowance were very reasonable. More importantly, Eugene was very clear about pricing and did make reasonable concessions that I requested. The day I traded in my car it was raining and I had wanted to get some nice photos. Eugene said to give them a couple of weeks. They would clean the car up for sale and post a lot of photos on line. Sure enough, this happened and I was able to save some nice photos of my old car. About 3 years later, I saw a beautiful 3 Series station wagon in the service department at the dealer. It turned out this was was leased to Eugene's sales partner, Mike. I asked Mike to contact me when this car was off lease. And just over a year later, he did. We discussed pricing and trade in values. Again, the discussions were very direct and pricing was fair. My son had been in an accident with the trade in car and I told Eugene and Mike I wanted to shop the trade in price. They did not try to dissuade me, understanding that this is a major purchase. The next day, one of the large used car national franchises looked at the car VIN and told me they could not duplicate the deal I had been offered as a trade in at Elmhurst. We finalized the deal. The car was "certified used" providing me with an additional 2 years of warranty after the initial factory warranty expired. The factory warranty did not expire until more than one year past the purchase date. The car was made to look and feel new, inside and out. The dealer installed 4 new tires and new rear brakes. I have been driving the "new" 3 series wagon for about 4 months. I have had zero problems. Again, a very good experience. read more

Two years ago, my car had strange noises and it was still under warranty so they "fixed" it. The similar problem occurs few weeks later but they denied it was the same problem and charged us $700+ because the warranty just ran out. We gave them not so good review on the Satisfaction Survey and Cory called and was mad at us being honest. June 09, I wanted to make an appointment for oil change (for my old car). I called at 7:30am and left a message to a person, not an answer machine. They didn't call back until 6pm. I have had the oil changed somewhere else by then. June 09, my remote didn't work. (for my new car) I stopped by for consultatioin. I was asked to make an appointment. I had to return 2 hours later. Then they said my car need an oil change. I was puzzled because I didn't get any notice from my dashboard. The oil change took almost 2 hours. And they said I need a new remote. So my remote problem wasn't fixed and my day off was wasted on a oil change that can be done within 30 minutes without an appointment. I spent $30+ on "genuine" BMW touch up paint. The color was awfully off. I returned to them and they had no intention to offer any help. I even showed them the "result": silver paint on my grey car. They asked me to talk to their body work department instead. I finally persuaded them to give me another one, just in case the paint was mislabelled. I had to return the next day. The result was the same. They said there is nothing they can help. Period. Very disappointed. read more

Buyer Beware! We traveled over 400 miles one way to purchase a vehicle. Deal was completed, paperwork signed, payment made then we were presented a binding arbitration agreement to sign. Short story we refused to sign, they refused to sell. We drove back the 400 miles without a car. A weeks worth of phone calls negotiating, etc. they never once mentioned it. Why would anyone sign a waiver protecting the seller and waiving their constitutional rights as a consumer! We didn't! There is more! We negotiated a price, when the paperwork arrived, the price was higher. They guaranteed the car was in pristine condition, it was far from it. The car wasn't ready to go when we got there, all four tires were very low, certainly not road worthy for a 400 mile trip back home. One would think that a Jaguar/BMW dealership would be a top notch facility. We were sadly disappointed with the entire experience. Do yourself a favor and find a dealership that actually wants your business and respects its customers read more

I purchased a 2015 Lexus RX350 from them 4 weeks ago and am unhappy with their service. We travelled over two hours to get to the dealership and after pre arranging our arrival, I was passed back and forth between reps as the reps I had originally been speaking with (Frances Otero) had a training session, the rep (Glenn) I was left with did not seem very friendly and obviously unhappy he had to deal with someone else's customer. We were told the car would be discounted $500 but when finance drew up the paperwork it was only $300, They also charged me $80 for Nitrogen in the tires without asking me first, but said they did that with all their cars. They told me I would be financing through Chase but the paperwork I received in the mail was through Bank of America. Then within 3 hours of driving the car (2hr & 20mins to get back home from dealer) and less than 24 hours after purchase, I had several warning lights show up on the car. They told me to take it to a local dealer for repair and resolution, stating they wanted to help. When The Lexus dealer said it was a bad sensor, they then told me sorry, sensors are like light bulbs and can go at anytime and it was ok when I left the dealership. This repair cost me over $600. Very unhappy with the service both before and afterwards. read more
