So impressed with Elysian - for a variety of reasons. We came here after visiting another local brewery where we did NOT have a good experience. Our hopes were that Elysian would take the bad taste out of our mouths (literally and figuratively) with some good brews. We were blown away! Diana was our server, and wow was she spot on. We weren't quite sure what we wanted a full pint of to drink, so we asked for a sample of one. She not only brought that sample, but samples of 2 of their other similar beers. How intuitive! Although they all were good, we finally settled on the Push Mower Pils, which was perfect. This is a very comfortable, welcoming brewery. It has a full bar that obviously makes a variety of mixed drinks. A full kitchen is also at this location, so if you're looking for some food to go along with your beer (or whatever you're drinking), Elysian does have that option. Such a great experience. We weren't rushed or encouraged to purchase anything more than we wanted. Diana was a great host, engaging in conversation with us regarding the area and info about the brewery itself. Because I have been trying their beers from grocery stores in Seattle and I loved all of it, I went in here. They have a huge sitting area and offer indoor and out door sitting. If you are planning to go in large groups, this place is absolutely a good choice. We went there during happy hour. The beer, cocktails and food was amazing. They have endless options in the beer. The Cap Hill outpost of the classic brewery behind 'Space Dust' -- I've been a fan of their beers for a while and stopped by on a weekday evening. They have a spacious seating area inside and it was really easy to find a table. I was meeting a friend but it would totally work for larger groups as well! My friend had a flight of four beers which he liked very much, except for one being a little to floral for his taste. I had a couple of lagers, I can't quite remember its name, but it was very good. It's a large location, capable of holding large groups. They offer seating inside and outside. Parking is pretty much street parking as far as I observed. TL;DR - Go for the beer, not the food. Longer version - the beer is fantastic here, but the food is awful. I've had five different beers from Elysian, and they were all excellent. Three IPAs, a Pumpkin Ale, and a Velvet black lager. The velvet was my favorite, but all were high quality. But don't stay for the food. The burgers are made from frozen patties, as the wait staff admitted to me when I asked "could I have it medium?" (To which the answer was no, they're all well done because they're heated from frozen Patties). And they taste it. Definitely not a $14 or $17 burger. And $17 for macaroni and cheese? Ridiculous. One thing they could improve on with the beer sampler is transparency. The price isn't written on the menu, and it turns out it's $13 (found out when we got the bill). That's the most expensive I've seen at any brewery, and I've been to dozens across the country. The service is very good, and they're short staffed, so I commend the wait staff for that. read more

Stopped in for a few beers (the theme of our Seattle trip). Marniers playoff game was on and there were a group of people that were really into it, so that helped make the vibe a little more exciting. A lot of people were there to eat and the food looked good, but we dropped in to grab a few beers. Super extensive list to choose from including seasonal choices. You can try things if you aren't sure what to go for. There was a big beer release event going on later that night. Seems like it would have been a cool event. Stop in and try something that sounds interesting. Street parking only which can be a little tricky in the area, but Seattle parking meters are reasonably priced. read more

I was honestly surprised that the food here was so good. We only had the hot cheese and tomato jam bread but it was great. The tomato jam is such a great pair with goat cheese that I'm not sure why people don't use it more often. Honestly the beer wasn't anything super memorable but also wasn't bad. They were good about their samples but I didn't care for any of them to get a lot. The service was great and the atmosphere was pretty well set up as well. We were in the area and looking for a brewery to relax and play some cards, have a snack, and drink some good brews...oh well, just one out of three objectives met this time unfortunately. Here is what we experienced: - My wife and I both ordered flights of four beers each. Overall, the menu of beers had way too many pumpkin flavored options...maybe 8 even. Who needs that much pumpkin beers? We ended up only getting one pumpkin one (which was our least favorite) but all the others were ok, but not impressive nor spectacular. We felt like all the beers were average at best. - We wanted some small bites to share and ordered the Pretzel Knots, but we were also looking for something a little healthier (nothing fitting that bill in the appetizers section) and so we ordered the farmstand veggies side (broccolini) and a small strawberry salad. The salad was very ordinary and the pretzel knots were overcooked or overworked so they were a bit tough and chewy. Frankly, the best thing were the garlic cloves accompanying the broccolini. - The atmosphere was ok, but not quite a brewery and not quite a restaurant. Overall, it felt a bit cold. - And, speaking of cold, our server acted like we were a bit of an inconvenience to her...perhaps they need some smile lessons at this place??
