Once upon a time, the only Korean barbecue spot near my residence oz Korean barbecue. Maybe in about the last five years, so many of these types of restaurants have sprung up and I've got my attention. This is the newest one that I have eaten at. Not sure how long they've been here, but the quality of food is amazing. The dipping sauces, the soups, the side, dishes, and condiments, along with premium meats made for a wonderful experience. Their server was great as well, I informed him this is my first time coming here and I wasn't as familiar with Korean barbecue. He took the time to educate me on how to order and what sauces went better with what. The environment is fairly loud but appropriate. Restaurants of this style need to have great ventilation and a capacity to seat, large groups. This restaurant does all that. I would definitely return here.

Arrived around 5pm on a Saturday and it was not busy yet. We still waited 10 minutes to be seated for party of 7. The meat was good but seems like they removed jajangmian from the menu so that was disappointing. The fries are good as usual. The steamed eggs were a bit overcooked, and the ramen with cheese was very basic (tasted like chicken powder with gochugaru topped with mozzarella cheese). Favorite cuts of meat was the saeng galbi and the beef belly. The scallion salad is a must get along with rice paper!

Been here multiple times now and have had a good time experience each time. Tbe combination of attention by the staff and portions make it a go to place when craving KBBQ and not wanting to make too much of an effort of driving. The KBBQ is good in my amateur viewpoint, but what separates it from other places is the care. You can choose between full orders and half orders, so you can conceivably try more of the menu because each round will be smaller. This isn't a detterent because the staff consistently come by and check in. Unlike other places where smaller portions are definitely a negative because they don't come as often, you won't have that issue here. The staff is great. Everyone involved with the operation that I've interacted with so far is awesome. They refill drinks, get orders, clean up the table and switch grills, everything that makes the experience better. I like the fact they have mussels. Sometimes I just have a craving for them, and this place allows the itch to be scratched. Ventilation is better than other places because they have it right over the grill. Additionally, plates aren't tiny. It can actually fit a good amount of food. Banchan was plentiful, refillable, and already at the table. The table size too is nice and generous; small tables at AYCE KBBQ places irk me because of the inevitable amount of plates that you get won't fit. Overall, this place hasn't let me down. For that, it deserves 5.

Ember is everything I look for in an AYCE KBBQ. The variety of proteins, appetizers, and sides makes for an excellent overall KBBQ experience. I especially love their selection of non-marinated beef and pork (IYKYK). Service here is consistently great. Our server, James, is always exceptional. During our visit, he was handling 4-5 tables on his own and still managed to check in regularly while keeping our banchan and meats coming with zero delays--seriously impressive. Recommend: brisket, saeng kalbi (non marinated short rib), rib eye steak, thick cut pork belly, pork jowl, ube melona (dessert) Skip: Soybean paste soup (way too salty), Rib fingers (get saeng kalbi instead) Parking: Plenty of spaces available in the strip mall where the restaurant is located.

I've visited Ember a couple of times more recently to catch up with friends after the holidays and it's been a great experience each time. Both visits, I was with a group of 3 and the wait was only about 15-20 minutes. They don't have the option of an online waitlist, but they do accept reservations for groups of 5 or more. Any smaller than that and you need to be added to the waitlist in person. The interior is bright and well ventilated. The staff are definitely busy, but they check in often for ordering more items and keep an eye on the grill to offer to swap out for a new one. I really appreciate the attention to customers. My favorite meats would have to be the LA Galbi and the soy garlic beef belly. My favorite sides/apps are the scallion salad (so refreshing with the meat) and the battered onion rings. Pro-tip: ask for the broccoli sauce and spicy mayo as creamy sauces to enjoy with your meal. Even with the huge amount of food, it's always fun to look forward to dessert which is included at the end of the meal. I always opt for a Melona bar and the mango is my favorite!

Went to eat with my family and made reservations same day on a weekend. My family and I were all pretty hungry, 5 adults, 1 child and a baby. Qualified for child prices which was nice since my son is 9. Walking in it was really spacious and clean, I loved the vent systems it reminded me of over seas kbbq. The only thing is you have to keep it low for the smoke and when we did raise it, our waiter asked us not to. Understandable but sometimes it got in the way of cooking. Let's get into the food, we ordered corn cheese, gyoza and fries for apps. Nothing bad to say, but nothing out of the ordinary. As usual, ordering three meats at a time. The marinated meats were like the apps. Honestly this place is okay for their meats nothing out of the ordinary again. Melona for dessert. The wait staff was kind. Honestly come try it out, my experience went smooth. Nothing bad to say at all. I'll be keeping this place in rotation ‍ I would like if they had Shirley temples and Roy rogers though. That's my go to.

Came here for the first time on a Friday night where they were busy, but we were seated quickly. Our server, Anna was great-she checked in on us frequently to make sure we had everything we needed. The Meat was marinated well, but we felt some of the meat cuts were a little tough, and that the quality of the meat is better at Oz. The tofu soup was very good though, while the banchan was just ok. Otherwise, it's another solid KBBQ option in EG.

It's always nice to have ayce kbbq options in the area other than oz ! Ember is located in the same shopping center as Burlington coat factory ( formerly mervyns) and hobby lobby ! You can't miss it . I really enjoy ember and the many options they offer . They have a full bar , plenty of appetizers, and so many meat options to choose from ! While I think their banchans are just ok ( I like the bean sprouts and cucumbers the most) I always enjoy my experience here . Every time I dine here , my servers are usually jay or Derek and they always do such a fantastic job . If you're craving a nice ayce kbbq with great service , I highly recommend ember !

Enjoyed our dinner here. I made a reservation for a Saturday night party of 6. Everyone was attentive and prompt. All the meat items we ordered were great portions and were very good. We really enjoyed our first time here.

My husband's co-worker recommended Ember to him and I'm so glad he did! We've gone at least twice so far and I'm certain it won't be our last. Even when it was busy, we only had to wait maybe 15-20 minutes, which was great. Fair pricing with great service, side dishes, and meat options. Ember has one of the better tasting corn cheese, which made me happy. Choice of one Melona bar or sherbet cup at the end. Left without smelling like KBBQ due to their ventilation system, which is a huge plus! Def recommend!

SIDE NOTE-to anyone going there 5 or more party, it's automatic 15% gratuity. JUST KNOW when someone orders to-go while dining, that to-go amount will be added to your dine in bill, of course meaning the gratuity tip will be higher on your final bill due to that to-go order added. They will not make any changes for you there if you try to apply logic. Guess you have to pretend to walk in the door to order or call in while you're sitting down to place the order to-go to avoid it being part of the total bill. Hopefully they change that system because why would you charge to-go orders as part of the dine-in to rack up the gratuity tip for an under par service!? When I questioned the server how does it make sense and she said yes we can cancel the order and call it in rather than just taking the initiative to separate the orders. Make it make sense or maybe I'm just over reacting but it does seem like a way to get more money out of folks. Receipt name said nana and she had a bit of an attitude. I know she already got her tip automatically but at least display some customer service hospitality along the way. First time trying it and likely will be sticking to crab city or boiling crab instead when I crave seafood boil.

The hook and reel special blend was honestly pretty gross it was sweet, Smokey and not very buttery or salty at all. We asked for lemon pepper and extra butter to put inside(which was an extra charge) it made it a little better but I've definitely had better elsewhere. The garlic noodles were really good they had a soy sauce flavor, garlicky and cheesy. The price was pretty expensive considering I've spent $30 less elsewhere. Here at hook & reel I spent $96 The service was good. She was very kind and helpful but also wasn't very attentive. The restaurant and the bathrooms were very clean. Overall I wouldn't come back and I recommend going to Captain crab in Elk Grove it is so much better tasting and cheaper!!

I got my order to go, got home and when I opened the edamame, it was not what I expected. It was sitting in liquid. The description of the edamame under appetizers says nothing about it being in any kind of liquid or sauce. So I revisited the establishment tonight, which is Friday (the next day). I explained to the employee taking my order what I expected based on the description on the menu and what I got. I even showed her pictures. She said she's never seen edamame made that way (not in sauce) even though there's a picture of it being made that way under their Yelp profile. There was no attempt to rectify the situation so I left it be but it is a bit disheartening to order something with a specific description, then you get home and your order is not what you thought it would be and then there is no recourse provided. Based on this experience, my tip for future patrons is to ensure you get clarification on an item if you are trying it for the first time because it might not come in the same way it is described on the menu. If you want your fish filleted, let them know. It is a complimentary service. Then you head into the other line to pay. They take cash and card, I'm not sure about other payment types. The beef scallion pancake was another standout, especially because it wasn't smeared with an overwhelming amount of hoisin sauce like we've had elsewhere. Every ingredient had room to speak for itself. The mini pan-fried dumplings offered great contrast in texture: crisp on the bottom, delicate on top, with a juicy filling and a unique vinegar-forward dipping sauce that tied everything together. The crushed cucumber and garlic salad was the perfect palate cleanser alongside the richer dishes. We had the chance to chat with Elaine, who we believe is one of the owners. They also changed the tv area, in the main entrance, to look like the windows of an airplane instead of playing destinations on the screen, which I LOVED, because it enabled me to see sky views of places I have never and may never visit. They were playing soccer, which I understand, because the world is watching the World Cup. One of my favorite things was the hot, moist hand towels given at the beginning of your meal. I LOVED it. I thought it was so elegant and sopisticated. I am not a fan of washing my hands and then eating from a public restaurant, touch on the door to enter and exit. Now they provide the hand towels at the end of your meal, but this is fine dining, I am not using my hands to eat, and I have a napkin, if needed. So, I would prefer to cleanse my hands at the beginning of my meal. I sat in the newly renovated area which looked like the inside of an airplane. Sooooooooo, DOPE!!! It was BEAUTIFULY done! Felt FIRST CLASS, all the way. The furniture was AMAZING and looked elegant and high class. Some things on the menu had changed, but that is to be expected. My meal was delicious. Every table is covered by HUGE umbrellas. What I thought was cute and unique, when I had finished my meal and paid my bill, I was given a token. There are gift machines inside and on the patio. I really wanted the Unicorn key chain, which I did not win, but I thought it was a nice touch for the kids and the kids at heart with adult wallets. Lol.

The table was a little sticky (not sure from what) but the seats were comfortable. We were served complimentary sweet tea (black or green) which was a nice plus - you don't get this at every location. The drinks were quite sweet but had a very good tea flavor. I ordered #2 Lamb Hot Pot and hubby got #9 Taiwanese Supreme Spicy Hot Pot both with medium spice. I personally did not experience much spice at this level so I will probably get very spicy next time. We also added the mala skewers which is my husband's favorite and again this is not available at all locations. Did not have to wait too long for our hot pot but did have to wait a little longer for the skewers. I do see this as a good sign as it hints they're not pre-made. Great assortment of skewers with generous mala sauce and flavor. Hot pot is packed with ingredients with generous serving out meat. I can finish the entire thing but if you have a smaller appetite you might want to share. I recommend asking for noodles on the side as it risks them getting soggy. Service was good here and we were extremely satisfied with our meal. We will definitely be back!

I don't think the broth was anything to rave too much about. I'm glad I tried it but you really have to know what you like. Service was adequate. After they served us, they never did check in again. Ambiance was popping. A lot of people were there. Overall, I'm glad I tried it.

It may take time to get seated and created but it really seems like it's just one person that runs the whole front end, from seating and placing orders to delivering food to your table as well as bussing tables . As soon as we get in, it's HOT. Like AC was broken or what? RED FLAG 1 - We still stayed. Got seated fairly quick and there are a few large parties and I worried about whether they would be able to handle it since I only saw 1-2 servers. The menu said "Soju" without a flavor listed so I asked what flavors they had and the server had no clue. RED FLAG 2. Another server came and said she thought they had xyz flavors and did I really want them to check. RED FLAG 3. I said yes. I'm not buying a $13 bottle of Soju (that costs $7) without knowing the flavor. We order some standard items that shouldn't have taken long, and the kids are getting very hungry. No status from anyone and it's been a long while. I finally get up and ask what's happening and it's clear they hadn't even started on our food. So I pay for our over-priced drinks and this place is off our list of things to try. i highly recommend calling ahead and asking about the crowd size and AC situation. They were definitely not able to handle the crowd, even though it wasn't even a full house.
