Our other two friends had been here many times and highly recommended it. We arrived right when they opened and were seated quickly. As busy parents, we often forget to eat while taking care of our families, so it was a real treat to sit down, relax, and enjoy great food with even better company. Came here on a Friday around 3:30pm. Maybe only about three other party's in the restaurant, so very empty. Because of this, service we received was super attentive and really amazing. Their meat portion is huge compared to other Korean barbecue spots around the area. Our favorite was the garlic marinated pork belly and their steamed egg. My party of 4 and I came to try out the soft opening of this new KBBQ in Elk Grove and it didn't disappoint! We got here around 6pm on a Monday night and waited around 15 minutes to be seated! The service was great! Staff were very nice and attentive and mulitple staff came to our table several times to make sure we were okay on everything! They were also very quick on bringing stuff out, we would order and our items would arrive to our table within like 3 minutes! The sides were alright tbh, I've had better bugs if not bad! The inside was pretty spacious and honestly this was the first time I went home from KKBQ not smelling like meat so that fan was definitely working! The inside of the bathroom was also very clean and I loved the huge mirror. Keep in mind it is their soft opening so they'll most likely fix and tweaks things here and there but it's a solid place!! My girlfriend and I went here on a Sunday afternoon, around 4PM, and it wasn't busy. The place is really spacious, and comforting. Our server was really nice! Since it was our first time there, she gave us recommendations of what to get and was really helpful throughout our whole experience. The banchan was pretty good. The only thing was that the japchae was really bland. Everything else was cool. When it came to ordering the meats, our server suggested that we do half orders as their portions are a bit big. We still decided to do full orders, and when we received it, we were shocked at how big these portions were! The beef belly and brisket are go-to's; always mandatory to order at any KBBQ. The beef bulgogi was really good as well. The intestine was pretty decent. The jumuluk was probably the star of the show. The house meat sauce complements all of the meats here really well. The meats are definitely it here at this place. As for the appetizers here, it happened to be the opposite. We ordered the popcorn chicken, gyoza, and kimchi pancake. Unfortunately, these were all super mid. Save yourself some time and stomach space and just focus on ordering the meats. The only good appetizers were the corn cheese and the mala soft tofu soup. After finishing our meal a little after 5PM, the restaurant started to fill up. So if you do want to try this place out with little to no wait time, try to come here right before dinner. Came in during there soft opening at lunch time. Was greeted immediately by host Billy who answered all of our questions and then some. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. We were a party of 4 adults with 1 toddler (3yr). For our appetizers we ordered potstickers, steamed egg, and tofu soup. Everything was delicious, especially the potstickers which we placed a second order of. The steamed egg was good as well, make sure to share it as it is a lot. For the meats we had 2x garlic soy shrimp, chicken bulgogi, pork belly, LA galbi, pork bulgogi, and beef bulgogi. Everything was tasty and well seasoned/marinated. We also ordered the house sauce and the salt/pepper oil as our dippers for the protein. Their house sauce was tasty and is on the sweeter side. For the sides they provided us with the usually Korean sides of: pickled radish, seafood cake, kimchi, spicy pickled cucumbers, marinated potatoes cubed, japchae, and bean sprouts. Additional sides we ordered: rice paper, lettuce wrap, and veggies. I recommended to ordered the rice paper and lettuce wrap per person. For dessert they offer raspberry or orange sherbet. Surprisingly it was good and reminded me of the "flinstones push-up pops" I had as a kid. Overall food was delicious and I would recommend. I will most definitely be retuning. It would be great if oysters and mussels get added to the menu as this would replace my usual go to Korean spot l, Gogi. The service was exceptional. The angus prime steak was chewy therefore a poorer cut of meat. The Gallbi and plain bulgogi were okay and the veggies were dried out. You could tell they were cut awhile ago and was served today. The popcorn chicken is not the typical one I'm used to. It doesn't have any of the white pepper salt you'd expect. It's more like homemade fried chicken nuggets. The tofu soup was disappointing too. It lacked flavor and the spiciness overwhelmed the soup. Sadly, I will not be returning. read more

We decided to do Korean BBQ last minute on Father's Day. All the other Korean BBQ restaurants in Elk Grove had significant wait times but Ember did not. At first glance, the restaurant is really nice. The music selection was not for me though. They are clearly targeting a younger demographic which is probably why they were less busy than their competitors. The cursing and the volume really turned me off. The kid serving us really had no idea what the Korean beers were but he was probably too young to drink so no big deal. He did offer to bring us out samples, which was helpful, but honestly all the beers were great so we just went with the first two. The appetizers came out almost cold but were still pretty good. Desert was a complete disappointment. We ordered the raspberry and orange sorbets. I put the picture below, I'm pretty sure I can get these same items from the ice cream truck at the park. They even served it with the little wooden sticks. Don't order desert. We wanted to take our leftover chicken back to the dogs but they told us no boxes because they are a buffet. We had already eaten part of it. This really bothered my wife because she comes from a country where food is less abundant. I won't go back. Keep in mind that only around 6 tables were occupied in the whole establishment. Although I have no problems with sitting next to people when getting seated. They sat us, directly next to another couple which was quite awkward as there was an abundance of empty tables other than the one next to them. As you can expect both couples were in shock. Service. Food: All the meat was marinaded pretty well. It was a sweet and savory flavor. The appetizers were good as well. We ordered the corn cheese, deokbokki, and vegetable jeon and it tasted yummy. We were so full that we forgot to order the cold noodles :/ A good reason to come back though! All the banchan was up to par. I liked that they have vents over the grill to to reduce the smoke blowing in your face when cooking; it also prevents you from smelling like Korean bbq when you're done! I guess the server already selected what his getting for tipping, as he asked me to sign the bill and as I look towards the screen he already selected the higher amount of getting tipped before me selecting it so I quickly asked him to get the machine that you pay the bills with so I can select what how much tip to pay him. Overall I'd give it a 3/5. The wait time wasn't long at all for a party of two. The Hostess was nice, and welcoming so that felt nice. Our waiter was fun to talk to, and seemed to actually care about us as people so that was amazing! The food came out FAST, which coukd be a food and bad thing. The first round we got 2 corn cheese, white rice, the lettuce wraps, soy garlic pork belly, brisket, and beef belly. I didn't care for the corn cheese, but my boyfriend loved it! The soy garlic pork belly was okay to me, again my boyfriend liked it, but to me it had far too much sauce that seemed to overpower the taste of the meat. We both didn't care for the brisket as we found it FAR too chewy. So chewy that we had to spit out a few pieces (the old napkin trick). The beef belly was DELICIOUS the first round. The second time we got the beef belly it looked like it had a little freezer burn to it. We tried telling ourselves it was just the lighting. But after cooking and eating it, it was NOT the lighting. It seems the food isn't too consistent between rounds. The Pepsi was delicious haha. Again, 3/5 due to the first round of beef belly, and our kind waiter! Might stick to Gangnam Avenue. Now THIS is real authentic Korean BBQ. TLDR SO GOOD. We came here on a Friday night and the wait was quick and we got seated within 15 minutes. We were seated to a fully prepared table with all ban Chan ready and server took our order promptly. We loved how many options there were on the menu and there wasn't any "limited more expensive AYCE menu" just 1 unlimited menu. All the food was really good but our favorite was the spicy brisket and LA Galbi. So tender and marinated to perfection! We also tried the summer menu drinks (Melona soju & lemonade beer?) and they were both really tasty. After being born in KTOWN and trying other KBBQ spots in EG, I can confidently say this spot is the top KBBQ spot in sac. The food was authentic and service was amazing. This is my favorite Korean BBQ spot in Elk Grove! All-you-can-eat (AYCE) is available for lunch ($24) and dinner ($34). You can still choose the dinner option during lunch hours, and that gives you the chance to try Naengmyeon (cold noodles), which is really good. You can also get ramen for lunch, which I thought was unique compared to other KBBQ places. I know people often overlook the appetizers at KBBQ, but the yangnyum popcorn chicken is pretty good for a KBBQ spot. For lunch AYCE, brisket, jumuluk, and LA galbi are definitely great. For dinner AYCE, saeng galbi (non-marinated) and rib fingers are tasty. Overall, the service was great. There wasn't much of a wait to get the food, and you can order the next meat while cooking the current one. The ambiance is typical of a Korean BBQ restaurant, with some Korean designs and grills at each table where you can cook your food. There's plenty of space. Great portions, great food, great customer service. Came here on a Friday night around 8pm, it wasn't extremely packed so we got a table almost immediately. The servers were very attentive, I feel like the meat portions were bigger compared to most places we've been to. We got the LA galbi, beef bugologi, beef belly, and ribeye. All tasted very good, we also got the salt and sesame sauce and house meat sauce which paired very nicely. Melona ice cream or sherbet at the end which was included with the AYCE. I do have to say that it was a nice dessert option compared to other Korean bbqs we've been to that include a free dessert at the end. We got the ube flavor and it was a 10/10. They were very attentive and offered grill changes. However, EVERYTHING is too sweet. All of their marinades are too sweet and unbalanced. The pickles were too sweet, and had a kind of dirty taste to them. The sides were not that satisfying, and the portions of corn cheese were small. The house dipping sauce at least had some acidity with the sugar, but the salt and sesame oil was flavorless somehow... The mool naengmyeon (cold noodles) had a good beefy taste to it, but again too sweet and not enough acid. And the pickles in it were the same gross dirty oversweet flavor. We have been waiting to try this place since November and it wasn't that bad. The restaurant is spacious, welcoming, and traditional. The menu is organized. You choose 3 sporty, condiments, and 3 types of protein each round. Flavor could've been better. We didn't really think to get condiments/sauce to add more flavor to the protein. Checked out Ember for the first time. It was dinner on a Tuesday night, so not tthat busy. Waitress and general staff was very friendly and helpful for questions. Meats were very good and seemed pretty high quality. Brisket, Galbi, and the spicy Pork Bulgogi was my favorites. I've been to Gogi + Oz many times, and I think all three of them excel in different ways. Only meat that I wasn't that enthused on was the shrimp, but everything else was excellent. Also, major plug for the K-Town Soju they have. I rolled the dice and ordered a bottle of the Korean Pear Soju, which was outstanding. Drank about a quarter of the bottle and took the rest home. Looking forward to going back and trying some of the options I missed. They have a good amount of side dishes and theyre all decent . Thought the japchae was interesting bc it was jus noodles lol.
