Cozy spot with good pizza, burger and drinks. Our server was pleasant and helpful. We sat outside in the shade and had a lovely time. Interior looks good too with sitting area and bar. Outside tables can use fresh coat of paint and adjustment to make them stable.
This was borderline a 2 star experience . The service was bad - waiter pushing us to order more and add expensive add-ons , bring in the appetizer and the main course together . Not great As for the food it was a little better - the double burger was ok but I wouldn't say it was medium-rare as promised (2.5/5). The Detroit style pizza (mvp flavor) was ok but not one of the best I had - the dough was so-so and tomato sauce did not feel fresh(3/5). The waffle fries were interesting (3.5/5) and the ceaser salad was...so-so(not enough dressing ) I think there better places to try . Disappointing
SO SO GOOD. I am a sucker for a pretzel bun, so much that i eat it by itself sometimes. however the pretzel bun for the emmy burger really seals the meal completely, capturing the savory & juiciness of the meat, without the overly greasy nature of some other burgers in the city (that chain that we all find ourselves going back to). the staff was nice and the ambiance was great, no one rushed us even as we approached 5:30/6 pm dinner time on a saturday. i recommend going during off peak around 3/4 pm to get a good seat by the window and leisurely chat while enjoying delicious pizza (so butter and yummy) and the emmy burger. ps dont get seoul sister, it's really wet and nothing to call home about. but i didnt tack stars for that since thats not what they're known for
The burger was cooked perfectly with a juicy patty and great flavor in every bite. The pretzel bun added a nice touch and held everything together without getting soggy. Service was friendly and the atmosphere made for a great lunch spot. Looking forward to coming back and trying more from the menu.
Hit up Emily recently and I got the Emmy Burger and their famous MVP pizza. The burger lives up to the hype: juicy, well-seasoned beef, nicely melted cheese, caramelized onions, and that pretzel-bun + special sauce combo that makes it feel indulgent in all the right ways. The MVP Pie was also excellent. It's simple but so well executed: great crust, mellow tomato sauce, layered cheese, and that perfect Emily-style balance of richness and char. Not as flashy as some of their other pies, but honestly one of those "done right" pizzas that hits exactly when you want something classic. A great comfort-food meal and an easy recommendation if you want pizza and burgers that taste genuinely well crafted.
Almost 5 starts but a few things off. The Kim Chi Bulgogi fries were full of bacon, and less bulgogi but the bulgogi had a seasoning that wasn't good, the sauce ok, missing salt and would have been great if a little kim chi was actually on top. The Emmy Double Stack Burger was really good, super greasy, and hard to eat. Had to eat with knife and fork. The waffle fries needed salt! They had a herb/garden like ranch, that they charge for $2. I was bummed I didn't get to sit on the floor level, and went down in the basement instead. Must be because I'm a tourist instead of a local. That bummed me out! Andrew was our server. Nice guy, he didn't check on my table as often as the other table with more than 2 guests.
Wow. I can understand the hype. I've been back already. The double burger is nothing short of delectable. The sauce is so creamy and it's messy and allllll over the burger. So tasty to try. The pretzel bun is a blast. Waffle fries were perfectly cooked. Awesome service. He was so friendly and walked us through the whole history of the burger. I felt very taken care of. I can't recall his name but slightly red head and a beard. He is the man!
Came here for lunch after summer streets. We made a reservation and came about half an hour early, which they were nice enough to seat us. We were seated and given menus and cups. Then no one came to us for 10 minutes, not even with water. The other patrons all either ordered, or had their food already so I wasn't sure why we weren't given any attention. We tried to flag them down but they mostly congregated near the front amongst each other and were facing the other way. We finally got someone to take our order after 15 minutes. We ordered the double stacked burger and a chicken parm sandwich. The burger was pretty good. Cheese and sauce were great, and lovedddd the waffle fries. The chicken parm sandwich was all right, but it's not what they're known for.
Called to see if they did walk ins since online they were all full. We showed up in 10 and got seated with the understanding that another party will need the table in 80 min. Having read reviews about the burger we winded up ordering the Seoul Sister and the Emmy. We also tried the cauliflower along with some beers. Note that during ordering we were not asked how we wanted the Emmy cooked, whereas another party that came along later the server did ask. A sign of spotty service. The cauliflower came first and was tender, tasty and had a kick. The Seoul Sister came first, followed by the Emmy in about 5 minutes. Upon first bite of both burgers one could feel how dense the bite was. The meat was salty and chewy. Kenji Lopez Alt would have had a fit since the burgers were probably over handled in adding the seasoning and forming the patty. So while the menu description read fantastic (as well as some reviews online) the actual eating experience was a bit disappointing since it didn't live up to the rave reviews. The interior decor was nice and seating tight and a loud nyc ambiance, with outdoor seating even on a rainy day. Additional seating and bathrooms are downstairs. We didn't try the pizza but as for the burgers take the hype with a grain of salt. Knowing there was a time limitation on the seats we attempted to flag our server down on a few occasions for the check but unfortunately he was not so attentive.
Might've been the best pizza I've ever had - I tend to like thicker crust. I want to go back and verify. The burger was also super good but if I were to go back I'd ask for lettuce and tomato on it to cut the heaviness. Pretzel bun was definitely unique but a tad dry. Great service and solid seating. I sat outdoors but I love that.
I've been to four of the Emily locations, and they've all been consistently good, which is rarely the case once a business expands. I do have a soft spot for the OG location in Clinton Hill since I lived there for 14 years, but I am also happy to see the business continue to expand and thrive. I recently visited the West Village location with my husband and brother on a Friday night without a reservation. We were luckily able to be seated pretty quickly since they have a large space with additional seating downstairs. We ordered jumbo wings, two pizzas (Roni Supreme and VIP), and the double stacked burger. Needless to say, we had leftovers, but everything was delicious. I thought the wings would be too sweet, but they were nicely balanced, and I really loved the VIP pizza with the combination of vodka sauce and pesto. The Calabrian chilis also add a really nice touch. The service was great, and we were in and out of there in an hour and a half, including wait time.
Tried the famous Emmy burger and honestly, it was kind of underwhelming. Most of the flavor came from the cheese and caramelized onions, but the beef patties didn't really stand out. The waffle fries on the side were really good though. Ended up liking the chicken parm sandwich more. The chicken was crispy and sandwich was extra cheesy. Service could've been better. We sat for a while without water or any attention from the server.
After how frequently the famous "Emmy Burger" comes up on a podcast I listen to, I knew I had to try this place when I was visiting NYC. The burger was maybe the best burger I've ever had. What that special sauce is, I have no idea but it is goooood. My husband got the Good Paulie pizza, which is a white sauce base and holy crap was it delicious too! They make Detroit style pizzas with a thicker crust, which I love. Our cocktails were so yummy too. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. I loved the atmosphere in the restaurant too - they were playing great music and sitting upstairs allowed me to look outside all the windows and watch everyone walk by. The upstairs seating is a bit crowded with tables for 1-4 people. It was a little awkward being seated so close to other people, but I understand they are maximizing the smaller space. They had outdoor tables as well, but we were visiting in February, so no one was seated outside. Downstairs had little rooms for larger groups and was so cool - like a fancy cellar with exposed brick. And you can see the open kitchen where they are hard at work preparing the food. You've probably had pizza and burgers before but if you've never had them at Emily's, I promise you won't regret it!

You just HAVE to go!! Went on a weekday around 1pm and got in without a reservation but it's a small restaurant so definitely recommend making one to ensure you get in. Waiter gave us a straight forward, honest opinion about what he liked best between the pizzas we were debating- love a direct answer! Burger was the die for but the Luca pizza was also amazing!! Also got the chicken parm sandwich but wish we would have gotten the spicy chicken sandwich instead. read more
Came here for an early dinner on a Saturday night, make sure to get a reservation since the wait here can get long! Had the Colony pizza as well as the Emmy burger. Burger was good, definitely more on the greasy side, but it was juicy and flavorful. I'd come back for it, though I wish they offered a version with just a single patty -- the ratio of bread to meat is off with two patties and it can taste too greasy/juicy. The pizza was good as well: the crust was chewy and delicious and the overall pizza was flavorful but I think the chef was a little too heavy handed on the honey so the pizza tasted a bit too sweet. I think this is the only pizza place I've been to where I actually prefer the crust over the pizza itse Overall I'd definitely come back again to try a few more of their other pizzas! read more

f I were scheduled to ride the lighting in the electric chair tomorrow I'd demand this meal from Emily: West Village! You've heard me say this before about few dishes across our great nation but what you see pictured here would be the full meal. Both of these sandwiches are number ones for me in each of their categories, and I have waited hours to get them. My latest feast in Manhattan included the CHEESY GARLIC STICKS [parsley pesto, spicy tomato sauce], CRISPY CHICKEN CRUNCHERS [Nguyen hot sauce, radish, pecorino, ranch], NASHVILLE HOT KATSU [Nashville hot chicken, 'Bama white sauce, pickles, greens, radish on a pretzel bun], and finally my all time favorite the EMMY BURGER DOUBLE STACK [Pat LaFrieda beef, EMMY sauce, caramelized onion, American cheese, & pickles on a pretzel bun - with curly fries!]. I am a regular purchaser of her Detroit style pizzas via Goldbelly too. No lie I'm still jelly that my brother was able to meet the famous @emilyhyland when I wasn't there! I hope and dream she brings these foods to Vegas. They would do so well. I mean my crew's purchases would keep it booming alone, lol. We had a craving for burgers so we googled burgers and this place came out. We called for a reservation but apparently they don't take reservations so we walked and put our names down. We waited about an hour on Sunday brunch time. We had burgers and cauliflower. The burger was good but not out of this world. I would like to try their pizza next time. The tequila you later drink was spicy. I liked it. The best thing was the cauliflower actually. read more

KenScale: 8.25/10 Emily, a restaurant that started as a modest pizza operation in Brooklyn under the helm of husband and wife duo Matt and Emily Hyland, has quickly become a darling in the New York dining scene, following up their first venture with Emmy Squared in Williamsburg and then a couple more new branches in Manhattan. I'm not very surprised by this dramatic accent because the two Brooklyn restaurants I have been to have legit pizzas as well as killer burgers that make you feel you would rather have this indulgence in your life than eat clean all the time. My wife Jun and I do care about healthy eating, but we also enjoy having these moments where we share all the great things to eat outside of our home. When Jun's family (her parents and younger brother) came to visit the U.S., I wanted to take them out to one of the Emily restaurants after learning how much my mother-in-law loves burgers (sadly, it's still hard to find a great burger place in Korea where she was coming from). It was another satisfying dining experience that reaffirmed my love for everything this restaurant group does. When I was looking at the menu, I was somewhat bummed to learn that the round pies, similar to the ones that Jun and I had at the original Emily location, were not available for the night because of some mechanical issues to the wood fire oven. Only the Detroit-style square pies, similar to the pie that I had at Emmy Squared, were available. All the pizzas that I tried at Emily and Emmy Squared were good to great, but I still gave a few extra points to Emily because the round pies had thin crusts just the way Jun and I typically like pizzas to be (we would like to avoid dough overdose at all costs these days). Also the squared pies at Emmy Squared were a little bit aggressive on the flavor side. This time, though, the squared pies were more impressive. There is more diversity in Emily's menu, broken down into four different types: the reds (using tomato sauce), the pinks (using vodka sauce), the greens (using tomatillo sauce) and the whites (using no sauce). We decided to pick one each from the reds, the pinks and the whites section. I wasn't sure what tomatillo was but the green sauce based on a Mexican plant similar to tomato was an excellent addition to the Madre pie we had with chorizo. The spicy kick of the tomatillo sauce was quite excellent, and I felt that crust on this piece was more crisp compared to the softer dough at Emmy Squared. On the pinks side, the server highly recommended the Arenstein pie with pepperoni and pickled chili which was rich and delicious (who can't say no to a combination of pepperoni and pickled chili, right?) but not as overpowering as the Roni Supreme pie Jun and I tried at Emmy Squared. The Mimi pie from the reds section, consisting of ricotta, roasted garlic, mushrooms and basil was also another dish I would recommend. As for the burgers, well suffice to say I still think it's one of the best burgers in town. The signature Emmy burger, with its LaFrieda dry-aged beef, caramelized onion and special "EMMY" sauce in a pretzel bun, is simply a divine dish that any burger connoisseur should give a try. It's so pleasantly succulent and all the ingredients come together in wonderful bites after bites and... well, I'll just end there. Just go check out this burger without question! I already knew my in-laws' traveling schedule and was able to book a table for five of us way in advance. Good thing that I did because even on a Monday evening, the basement dining space quick got full over time. There is full bar available; given that it was a Monday evening and a low-key family dinner, all of us opted for a pint of beer. The basement dining room (plus the ground floor dining space) certainly feels like an upgrade in terms of size of operations over the relatively congested space at the original location (where we actually sat in make-shift tables right next to the oven at the back), but still retains that casual charm and free spirit of Clinton Hill neighborhood where everything started. I'm really glad that Emily has decided to expand in West Village; hope next time on our visit, the thin crust round pies are available too. read more

If they put a tiny tiny bit more effort in, I'd come back, but, the pizza is pretty dry. I was rooting for it to be great. For some reason they choose to put less sauce than they should... the vodka pizza had potential, but I couldn't even taste the sauce... just seemed to be dried into the dough/cheese. The mimi pizza was similar. Emily.... spend a buck more, give me a normal amount of sauce (on pizza, not on side), and then I'd keep coming back. read more

Visited Emily in the West Village the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. I had been to the location in Brooklyn once before. Booked a table for 2 outside at 12:15pm. We showed up early and the staff was so sweet and seated us promptly. They had the cutest fake floral arrangements hanging outside and were playing great music. We ordered the roasted chili glazed cauliflower, crispy chicken crunchers, the Luca pizza, and (of course!) the Emmy Double Stack Burger. Everything was to DIE for! I preferred the Chicken Crunchers over the cauliflower as they came with this amazing fresh green aioli of some sort. The cauliflower was delicious, too - just not as good as the chicken! The Luca pizza was amazing - essentially just a margherita pizza but with the most insane, cheesy crust. As for the Emmy Burger, this thing is outstanding. I really can't emphasize how delicious it is. Quite frankly might be the best burger in the city. If you haven't tried this place yet, what are you waiting for!!?? read more

This is some of the best pizza I've had in NY, and I've been all over. It took a little while for my pizza to come out but it was well worth the wait. I can't wait to go back to try another kind of pizza. I had the Colony pizza this time. It was a little spicy so be aware but that taste of honey is an incredible touch read more

The atmosphere was great and service fantastic, but this review/rating is for the burger and the burger alone. I've been fortunate to have had some absolutely incredible burgers in my life. I've had some duds too and quite a lot in between. So it is with this perspective that I walk away from Emily's famed Emmy Burger Double Stack and say, it was A-OK. The burger consisted of LaFrieda dry-aged beef, "EMMY" sauce, caramelized onion, American cheese, and pickles and is served on a Tom Cat Pretzel bun with a side of curly fries. It was $26 of which I would say it definitely was not worth $26. I have a certain threshold I'm willing to spend on a burger and $26 definitely exceeds it. Fortunately I split it and as a result I felt a lot better about spending $13 for half than I would have for spending $26 for the whole burger. A couple sitting next to us at the bar who saw us finishing off our burger asked what we thought and this is what I said, "it's not life changing, but it's a solid burger." And that's pretty much how I feel about it. It was good, but I barely remember how it tasted now. By comparison, I still remember an amazing burger I had in Australia from almost 4 years ago. I would return to Emily and try out some of the other stuff they have going on, but I would not do the burger again. read more

Unreal pizza. First time here after hearing about it for the past two years. Only a few minutes from my job so I was excited to finally go and it lived up to the hype! Started with the Crowlers and Brussels sprout salad. Both were really good and the Crowlers' cheese and pickled jalapeños weren't too spicy. Pizza - man these were good. I prefer a pie over deep disk/Sicilian but these changed my mind. Colony - crispy pepperoni and a bit oily as expected but a great option Luca - amazing buffalo and fresh sauce Vodka - a little light on the sauce but nice fresh basil. I read another review that said to ask for more sauce and I'd recommend the same. For the Nguyen - reaaaaaallly good specialty pie. Great Korean bbq sauce and the blue cheese was amazing. The BURGER was unreal. Apparently it's custom to order and share as an appetizer which I was not complaining about at all. Great beef, really fresh and the pretzel bun was nice. 5 star pizza. 5 star burger. Can't wait to go back. read more
What to eat: the burger and the detroit style pizza with pepperoni, jalepenos, and honey This is some of the best, most satisfying food I've ever had. The pizza is perfect: perfect cheese to vodka sauce ratio, perfect amount of spice so it stays in your mouth but doesn't burn going down, perfect amount of honey drizzle so it doesn't overpower the pie, perfect crunchy outside and soft middle. The burger is hands down the best burger in NYC. It tastes like if a fast food burger is made with the highest quality ingredients. Unbelievable. read more

We got the cheesy garlic sticks as an appetizer and they were great & very filling. We decided to split the burger since it was huge and we were already almost full. BEST BURGER EVERRRRRR. I'm so happy i decided to eat here while in NYC! Staff is also super amazing! read more

GET THE BURGER. Emily is a small restaurant - tight spaces and really popular. Not the greatest child-friendly space, but they were accommodating and no one seemed to mind. We came here on a Sunday afternoon around 4:30pm. We didn't have a reservation, there was no line but the hostess said we'd have to wait for about 30min. OK, we decided to wait. And then we were seated in less than 10min. Not sure why the hostess would even give out an estimate of 30min in the first place. Maybe try to deter people?? Anyways, we split the beets salad, the Emmy burger, and the Colony pizza. Burger was definitely the star - double patty, the onion, cheese and the special sauce all worked in harmony. It was a messy burger but really one of the top burgers I've ever had in my life. It was very well executed with a nice buttery bun, juicy patties, cheese and a sauce that was somewhat spicy and sweet. I couldn't tell exactly what it was but it had almost a Korean flavor to it, but I was blown away. I've had their Detroit-style pizza delivered to me in the past and was a huge fan, but the one we got just had little balance. It had too much acid and bite (tomato, salty pepperoni and salty jalapeno). If the slices had enough cheese I think it would have been OK but there just wasn't enough. I would love to try their other pizzas though. Definitely a place worth traveling and waiting for, but I would pick the burger over the pizza! read more

I finally got to visit my namesake today! I've heard all the raves about the famous Emily burger and that's why my friends and I braved the Sunday MTA hell and got to the restaurant just as they opened. The restaurant itself is a bit on the small side so I can imagine that it fills up fast as the day goes on. There were 5 other people waiting outside with me when I got there. We sat down in the corner and were almost immediately acknowledged by a waiter to take our orders. Three of us got the Double Stack burger, two got pizzas and the chicken sandwich. We got the Dear Friend cocktail and the Barrier Imposter Pilsner to drink. Both were delicious! Our food came out about 15-20 minutes later. The burger was smaller than I expected it to be but I hoped that it made up in flavor. I took a bite, and all the flavors of the pretzel bun, cheese, special Emmy sauce (spicy soy and mayo) and patties blended together amazingly. It was definitely worth the trip out to the city on a Sunday morning. My only bone to pick with my experience is that they definitely went heavy on the toppings. All of the flavors were overtaking the meat. I honestly couldn't even taste it, which is sad because it's the best part of a burger. I think next time they should put a small spoon of Emmy Sauce and put the rest on the side. I would say it was worth more like $20. Overall I would give my experience a 4.5. Great service, pretty good food. read more
I came here with a group of friends and I'm so happy that I was able to check this place out. I made reservations online, super easy and quick. I came here with a group of friends, we were seated right away, and we were assisted pretty quick as well. I noticed within our time there, the place had quickly filled up. My 2 friends and I ordered the famous burger, and I was blown away. I really liked the pretzel bun, it was soft and had a great taste. The caramelized onions and pickle were a great combo, but it was the sauce that made the burger. Everything came together wonderfully, I did eat a piece of the burger meat on its own, just because it felt like too much was going on. The burger patty was very good, perfectly cooked and not overwhelming. My other two friends ended up getting the pizza and the chicken sandwich. The pizza was great, and they thought the flavors were a great combo. I believe the liked the chicken sandwich a bit more. It was perfectly crisp and seasoned. The cocktails were pretty good too! As we were leaving, there was a line of people outside the waiting to be seated. All in all I thought this was a great place, I thought the burger was worth its price. read more

Came across this place from an article on best pizza in NYC. This was a recommended stop and we stopped by. Great location, really cool kitchen and seating area in the basement. We jumped right in and had the Arenstein pizza. We were actually nervous about the pickled peppers being too hot. Our angst was offset with the honey. Great balance of heat and sweet. Great crust and flavor. Definitely a place on the tour when guest are visiting the city. People were loving the burgers so that's on the list! read more

This is the best "fancy" burger in New York -- even superior to its cousin at Emily's original Clinton Hill location. I am no stranger to an expensive burger (can you call it a luxe burger? A prestige burger? Too douchey?), and this one is worth every penny. It's just the combination of the pretzel bun, the signature Emmy sauce, and the two thin but perfect patties. Makes for a rich, flavorful, special but not too ridiculous burger. This burger does not take itself too seriously. And, of course, there's curly fries. I am not yet past the age of being obsessed with curly fries, and probably never will be. Burger aside, this location of Emily does not have half the charm of the Brooklyn original, but it's definitely much bigger. Get seated in the main dining room if you can -- there's also a lower level, which feels like you're eating in a crowded dungeon. Food-wise, I admittedly have not tried anything besides the burger. And the kale salad that we ordered in a weak attempt at health during this meal (I think it was fine, but my memory of it was immediately obliterated by the burger). They serve a mix of round and square pizzas here, so if you want a mashup of the Emily/Emmy Squared experience, this is for you. But also, please order the burger. read more

We were walking around the neighborhood and tried to stop in on a Friday night without a reservation. Luckily they had a table open and we sat downstairs. It is pretty tight in there so be prepared to be sitting very close to others. Service is quick here and be prepared to be upsold. That shows the sign of a true professional server but it was a bit much here. It was borderline pushy. Anyway, we started with the burger (of course) and got upsold on putting toppings on our fries. Not really worth it I would just keep them without it. The burger was juicy and delicious. It was up there with some of the best I have had. Solid burger and it held together well but it is messy. UPDATED REVIEW- I went to try out Emily again (with the same crew I originally went with a couple months ago) and let me just say I am SO GLAD I gave them a second shot. The waitress was so nice, the vibe in the restaurant was super cool, and the meal was fantastic. Also, the manager apologized for our experience last time and was very nice to me doing so. All is forgiven. Drinks: We got a bottle of the Mesta wine - upon first sip I didn't immediately love it but it opens up nicely and I ended up enjoying it! It's the cheapest red on the menu ($48) there are several options ~$50 which is great pricing for NYC, especially if you're with a group of young professionals or students who aren't quite ready to drop 100s on wine. There are also several fun cocktails on the menu that I'll def try next time I go. Food: We started off with the cheesy garlic sticks, it comes with a spicy marinara sauce and also smathered in a basil (pesto like) sauce. I definitely recommend these, however they did make my party very full and we didn't finish our pizza. We got 2 Emmy burgers (1 for the girls to split, 1 for the boy) and the Mimi pizza for the table. The burger was absolutely to die for. The pretzel bun is orgasmic, the meat is juicy (we got it done medium), the sauce on it is unlike anything I've had before. Everything about it is so perfect that I literally said "wow" after my first bite. The Mimi pizza was hardly touched because we were so full from the garlic sticks/burger/fries, I did enjoy it but I would order a different one next time as it wasn't mind blowing like the burger. Ok, the burger is AMAZING, no doubt about it, but what I loved about Emily was the staff's hospitality. They are literally the best people in New York. They looked after me and made me feel so special. Jenny is a beautiful soul. Since I travelled from far and carried my suitcase along, she took care of my part of the bill (yes, this mouthwatering burger was on the house) and not jus that, they didn't even charge me for the drink. I have gone far to find my favorite burger. At the time of this post, this has been my favorite restaurant, gourmet burger of all time. Well worth the $27. Additionally it has the best side of french fries that i have ever had come with a burger. I have had pretzel buns before but the Emily burger is the only one to do it with the right ingredients. Can't wait to come back and try their pizza as well. Only criticism is the bottom bun of burger falls apart, i dont like it. Solution: eat the burger upside down so the bigger top bun absorbs the juices/sauce. Love this place 4.8/5 read more

I was able to snag reservations about a week in advance for July 4th week and am glad to have finally tried out the burger and pizza here! The burger is really everything as described - deliciously messy, juicy, and the pretzel bun is NOT a gimmick. I would definitely come back again and again for this; am drooling now just thinking about this. We also got the Colony, since it seems like a popular choice, and it was great but not mind blowing. The honey is not overly sweet and the pickled jalapeños were not overly spicy so it made for a well-balanced slice. Nevertheless, it didn't hit the spot the way I thought it would - probably because I realized I'm not a big fan of the thick crust style of pizza and also Prince Street's Sicilian slice with pepperoni is the unbeatable number one in my heart. They have one dessert - a deconstructed s'mores, but this fell short for me. I think they should reduce the size of the dish to 1/4th of what it currently is because it was way too heavy and sweet for even the two of us to finish, particularly after a meal of burger and pizza. read more

The ambiance is noteworthy. Went for lunch. Perfect small setting. This could be annoying when it is crowded. That Emily burger is one of my favorite things I've eaten. It does not go into the same category as a dirty burger from an old burger joint. This burger was so so good and interesting. The curly fries were good only because the ketchup served was very good. The pizza is delicious. Unique but not odd or varying too much from a dishes pizza. Excellent texture. Wait staff was attentive and friendly and appropriately hipster. Bathrooms are clean and stylish. Downstairs would be so fun to have a large group done there. Favorite place on this last city trip. read more

Of the Detroit style pizzas I've tried in NYC, I think Emily is one of the better ones. My fiancé and I We shared the Colony Pizza and the Emily Burger. The colony was good and the pickled chili was a great pairing! I realized I like thin crust pizza more... The Emily burger was huge and I was so full that I couldn't really enjoy it-- I just felt the Emily sauce was too sweet. Pro tip: go hungry.
