Do not go here!! I ended up with a fungal infection/athlete's foot after my visit. If you're not familiar with this, it can take weeks to months to fully get rid of and it's highly contagious. I'm genuinely stressed about spreading it to my family, especially because I just had a new baby. The ladies were nice but clearly the equipment and tools are not being properly cleaned or sanitized the way they should be. When I reached out, all I got was "no refunds." I got a pedicure here which seemed like a good deal, I walked in and had to wait about 15 minutes, which was fine. They have pretty good massage chairs for the pedicure section. Everything seemed to be going well until the woman started laughing at how much callous had come off of my foot-- as a former professional dancer, I'm aware my feet are in rough shape-- and in her laughing with her coworkers around her (showing them the tool she was using and laughing) she didn't notice that she had cut through my skin on my feet not once. Not twice. But three times. Two of the cuts are rather small, the third is fairly major and today (5 days later) it's still bleeding. This just seemed incredibly unprofessional and I was made to not only feel bad about myself, but was physically injured in the process. I had to wear heels to an event this weekend and it made walking extremely uncomfortable. What was supposed to be a treat for myself has turned into days of pain every time I walk. Prices can't be beat. $20.99 for a mani pedi, $30 for gel manicure, $17 for pedicure, $32 mani pedi and 10 min massage. I just went for a gel mani, pedicure + callus removal and it was amazing. Lydia took her time and spent almost 1.5 hours on my nails. She meticulously cut, filed, and painted each finger. I was walking around the upper west side and happily stumbled upon this place! I saw a sign that said mani/pedi $19 and couldn't really believe it! I decided to check it out upstairs, upon walking in everyone was very friendly and attentive. I double checked the price on the sign and confirmed with them that they always have this deal! Great price for the area! I actually had just had shoulder surgery So my arm is in a sling... They were so concerned for me and helped me to feel very comfortable during my time there. The mani/pedi was about 45 minutes (+ dry time), nothing added that was overly special. The cosmetician did do a short foot and hand massage with the services. During the course of my pedicure I made sure that the cosmetician worked on an area that was really hurting me. She made sure to go over it a few times and asked me if it was feeling better by the end. This place gets 5 stars because it is a great value and they do a great job. Located up a small stairway on the second floor of the building, it opens out into a place with 5 pedicure stations and 6 manicure stations. There is also a room for waxing/ threading and another for massage. The ladies are friendly and sweet. My first time I had Ying Ying and she did an amazing job. Will definitely be back again. I went on a Saturday afternoon and it was not crowded at all. They have a wide selection of Essie and Opi nail polish. Their price is really affordable but the quality is mediocre. I always enjoy the pedicures since those rarely chip no mater where you get them but I've found that the Gel peels off your fingers after only 2 weeks (I can usually stretch gel nails to 3.5 weeks before chipping) but in less than 2 weeks I had full nails worth of polish peeling off. Regular manis start chipping 2 days after application. Maybe they just have low quality polish? Also didn't love their gel remover... you dip your hands in these bowl which should make it peel off? but it didn't really work so they were just kind of scraping and peeling the gel off without filing before the soak. read more

Do not go here for anything with line work or design - I showed a simple design and asked if they were able to do it. They lied and said yes. I did not get anything close to what I asked for. On top of that I was told additional color would be $5. After they were finished I was told I'd be charged $5 per nail. And then additional $3 per nail for the design. I was skeptical at first when I asked what the manicure included. Normally I get mani and pedi all at once, but I'm giving the nails of my feet a rest from nail polish. Ladies were nice and a bit pushy at first about adding a pedicure, which is why I was skeptical, but I left pleasantly surprised that at the end, this same lady was so nice and treated me so well and gave me a fantastic spa manicure with a wax at the end. It was my first time here, and I will come back again. She wanted me to be comfortable, so she gave me my manicure on the massage chair. Then I opted for an extra 10 minutes of massage and she did a very good massage and she timed it, as she should. Later she took off my gels and didn't charge me a ton more for removing gel in a couple of fingers. I opted not to get my nails painted because I want my nails to rest, so in order to compensate, she dipped my hands in a warm wax that made my hands and nails very moisturized. A few moments later 3 people walk in. She tells me the lady working next to me will do my nails (when she's done with the costumer she's already working on) Fine. I'm sitting at a table where there's a dirty cotton ball, with hair on it. After a few, the lady starts working on my nails & is going back & forth between me & the costumer she was first taking cake of. Never moved the hairy dirty cotton ball. She finishes my nails at another table, and they sit another costumer where I was originally sitting, dirty cotton ball still there. I was told Gel Manicure was $30, they charged me $33, fine, didn't question it, I tipped $6 because why not ? I wasn't too pleased with the color, I felt if she gave it a third hand it would actually look like the color that's advertised, whatever. I decide to give them a second chance, I go in for mani & pedi instead this time, there was only one other costumer there so I was seated & worked on right away. After the pedicure I had already changed my mind about this place because it was a more pleasant experience. For the mani, she asked me if I wanted my nails cut or filed, I asked her to cut just a little bit (my nails were reasonably long) my right hand pinky was super short because the nail broke a couple of days ago & she asked me if I wanted them like that, I said no that's too short, a little longer than that. She cuts & then files my nails & that's when I noticed they were ALL really short. Ok, maybe I should've just asked her to file them instead. Both thumbs were super crooked, so I asked her to please fix them. She didn't cut the skin around the edges of my nails & the paint job was just atrocious. I had been coming here for 7 years and I am so sad to say I'll have to take my business elsewhere. When you get services done here, they give you a business card which has a little chart on the back. The technicians then will sign a slot on the chart, and after 10 services, you get a free manicure. I brought in a fully filled out card, looking forward to my free mani. I was also getting a regular pedicure and the old gel removed from my fingernails. Linda, the lady who unfortunately worked on me, was not pleased I brought in the card. She acted confused and then disappointed when I presented it to her. Why? I could not tell you. Didn't want to give me the free service I guess. It was bizarre. The seat I got my pedicure in was very dirty, as the whole salon has become unfortunately, complete with someone else's hair stuck in it. Disgusting. Linda was annoyed the gel mani was not coming off easily, and after giving me a bowl that was way too small to fit my fingers in with remover to soak, she proceeded to scrap it off my nails in an aggressive manner. The shavings got ALL over me, the seat, and the floor. No surprise: the seat/shavings were not cleaned after I got up. At the end of my experience, I tipped a literal 20% on the entire service, as if the mani had not been free. Linda audibly insisted the tip be in cash before I had a chance to pay, fyi. I have signed for tips on the receipt too many times to count there, so it was weird. A change of policy is fine, but I would hope it would be communicated normally. I had cash, no problem, and tipped the 20% as I said. Her coworker asked Linda OUT LOUD in front of the entire salon, "How much?" in regards to my tip. When Linda told her, the woman loudly scoffed and sighed. It was BANANAS. I've genuinely never experienced the likes in my life, and a 20% tip was more than enough for the rough time I had there. For the record, if my mani hadn't been free, my bill would've been $80. I tipped $16. Duh. Oh, and they keep a sign outside that reads their mani/pedi is $28. A young woman was getting her nails done across from me and when she tried to clarify her nails would be $28 as the sign read, her tech told her it was going to be over $30. They do this all the time, and I've always forgiven it, but now I see they just lie about their prices all the time. The very next day, my big toe began to BLEED from the crap job she had done and many of my fingernails began chipping. THE NEXT DAY. The days that followed, you'd have thought I'd been woodworking barehanded the manicure looked so bad. Moral of this sad, sad tale: do not come here if you want a clean salon (they've really let the place go. it is truly, truly YUCK), if you don't want to be price-gouged, or if you are not planning to give an exorbitant cash tip for a genuinely trash service. They offer a callus remover solution for additional $7 and add hot towels to your feet while it's on. Linda is a gem in this salon, she's super sweet, she's attentive, she actually cares if she does a good job and that you're happy with the outcome. I have been to this salon a few times. For $20.99 mani pedi, that really is the best I've seen in Manhattan. It's not the prettiest place, but clean. I have not gotten an infection here. I didn't come for a while since there is a young gal here (with glasses) who wasn't so gentle and gave me a dirty look whenever I flinched. Surprise surprise after 3 months I get her again.... but she was actually gentle today which was really a nice surprise. She does do a thorough job and take her time which is great too. She's doesn't talk to you unless necessary, but I don't mind at all. The polish job has always good and lasts at least for a week. Pro tip: get some clear polish and after a couple days repaint your nails with it. I've done this before and my nail polish lasts for more than a week. I wash my hands a lot. read more
