I came here yesterday for the first time. I have curly thick hair and it is hard to cut, so I asked for someone that has experience cutting curly hair. I got a man who's supposed to be the expert cutter but he did a horrible job. My curls look like a child cut them. I couldn't tell how bad it was until I got home and washed my hair again and tried styling it. I honestly started crying I don't think I've ever had a haircut this bad before. I wouldn't return here or recommend anyone to Update: the owner called me to schedule another appointment and correct my hair cut. I got scheduled with kayci and she was amazing. She knew exactly what I meant when I showed her the weird cut from Before and with just a few magical snips she got my layers all blended and cut off my dead ends. She even deep conditioned my hair and straightened it for me to make sure we got all the layers evened out. I will be coming back to see Kayci and only her! Called at noon to make an appointment - was told there was availability all day and made an appointment anyhow at 4pm. Got there and was told the person that was supposed to cut my hair left. Said that's fine I'll take whoever. Employees just kept talking between themselves and staring awkwardly at me waiting every few minutes. Don't know if it was the mask (worn out of precaution during covid), my general appearance or whatever, but clearly they chose not to provide service while everyone stood around looking at each other aimlessly and no other patrons waiting. Don't waste your time with this BS. Overall experience was 0/5 - front desk person was actually inept at general communication and or having any semblance of customer service. +1 for the barber with a long beard that was polite enough to at least look me in the eye and apologize for the confusion while everyone else sat around looked at each other in confusion. Looked like he had no customers fwiw but could've been done for the day so don't want to speculate. Frustrating experience to say the least read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Do not waste your time. So called new "owners". No. I spent over 300$ for a service I had to get redone at another salon. I asked for a balayage/ombré with smudge roots.I walked out with a choppy, over toned (gray in some areas and brassy in others) highlights. I was told my stylist had over 6 years of experience and could do what I wanted. I left horrified. I said allowed in the chair the front looks choppy and was told "this is the process". I was noticeably unhappy when I left. I had to wear hats to cover up the hack job. As stated before I had to go get it fixed a week later elsewhere. I called to get a refund because of the terrible job (showed pictures of before and after) I contacted Trenton Kaminski (so called owner) and he gave me the run around of "why don't you come back, I'll give you free product, free services." Of course I declined. I will not go back to a salon that has previously done me so wrong and I stand by that. Long brown beautiful hair turned into an art project gone bad. I never want to step foot in this place. The new stylist I went to took photos of my hair and the terrible job they did and even SHE said " go get you money back." Trenton fought with me and my husband on the phone and refused to give a refund. We work hard for our money and are proud to work for what we have. I had to pay over 600$ to get my hair done. I'm appalled at the way Trenton Kaminski and his wife run that salon. I will never EVER come back and will NEVER refer anyone. These pictures are a couple days and only a WEEK after In response to "owner" Yes, it was agreed upon before that there would be no issues to do what I had originally asked. As stated above I always assured in the chair after bleaching was done that this is a step process. Nothing before hinted to that until after. I knew this was a process as in we could not go "light" but at least a technique could have been used. My hair was patchy gray and brassy. *****I do see you added a photo and although yes the stylist shows the end which is the "good parts" the head and the lines were not smoothed out and it was chunky. **** The photo you claim to put on your professional profile is one the stylist took. Stylist try everything to make the hair look the best and although the bottom area looked very good and blended the top by the head did not and these pictures prove that. Shame on you for lying to your customers and showing half proof. I tried to share this information with you. I emailed every single one of these pictures to you and you pretty much slapped me in the face telling me that there is nothing wrong here. You are wrong. So don't be shy show pictures of the scalp and around the head not just the bottom that looked good. I haven't even mention the fact that I had breakage at the bottom of my hair. Underwhelming service. Very limited discussion of what I wanted - less than three sentences of discussion. Almost a hundred dollars for a trim, and no shampoo/style. Basically he said, "okay, all done" and handed me my purse, then asked if I wanted shampoo and style after I was clearly not thrilled with the cut. At that point, when you've already done a mediocre job, I don't want to deal with you anymore. I used to get great cuts here from Glo, but took a chance this time on a random stylist. Several weeks ago I brought in my daughter for a coloring job, and it also was only so-so. I've kept trying the place because of past good experiences. Shame on me for not learning until now. I would get better service and a no worse haircut at Great Clips or Ulta. If you don't have an established relationship with a client, you need to spend enough time talking to them about their hair concerns, what they want, etc., and explain how you suggest proceeding with the service. Yes, I could have/should have been more assertive and pushy to get what I want, but an essential part of good beauty service is two-way communication and involves dealing with extroverted and introverted clients. Good stylists have strong communication skills, not just a pair of scissors and a high price tag. read more

Not a great experience. I'm very simple just want my natural dark brown hair dye black . Appointment 5:45 arrived on time . They start dying my hair . The stylist did not pay attention to any details such as putting on vaseline on the edges of my head line and ears before coloring . After 1.5 hrs later they have black stains all over my skin not only that I spent another 1.5 hrs have them removed or fading the dye off my forehead, neck, and ears. They have no color removers instock. They was using hand sanitizer to remove the black dyes on my skin. Come to check out $75 bucks for hair color and $30 for some bull shit blow dry. I went to many salon $75 dollars including color , blow dry and no dye on my skin better skilled professional. Of course I'm not paying full price because that's was a terrifying experience! They throw in the Bull shit weak ass blow try for free. Still not making me Happy . Told them they owe me money for my time sitting there while they rub alcohol on my skin. Got a little be more off the price. Only reason why I'm not putting 1 star and stylist name on this review. read more

*Disclaimer* The reason I'm giving so few stars is because of the lack of response from the owners, not the stylist. I have gone to see Ashley and she was fantastic. The fact they changed kids haircuts to the same price as adults irks me. I really enjoyed bring my daughter in with me so we could have a girls day at the same salon (and try to avoid the mall madness and not go to Visible Changes). Now I have to pay 30-40 dollars extra for her cut?! No way. But that didn't last long, they pretty much because anti-kid friendly with their next move . They said no kids would be allowed in unless they came for a cut! So they squeezed out that part of their customer market by pretty much making it unattractive for kids to come in. I've written several emails to them and STILL to this day, have not gotten an email back from the managers. I've gotten a customer service email to which basically said "well here are our other options" that I already knew about and still didn't help me. I really didn't think they would be this bad at customer service, because they have more than one location. But they are and it amazes me that the managers (aka owners) can't email me back addressing my issue. If I'm going to pay $50 for a haircut, it might as well be somewhere I feel like they at least WANT me there. Maybe I'm just not Emmanuel Salon's target market. I get my haircut with Liz and she is excellent with thick, course hair like mine. Many other stylists I have had do not know how to cut thick hair (lots of hair and thick individual hairs) and always leave blunt lines in my layers. Liz knows what she is doing here and I will continue to go visit her for my haircuts. The salon is a nice, bright atmosphere. The employees have always been really nice to me, even when I had to cancel my appointment twice in one day after rescheduling (yes, I was THAT annoying person). They did not hold this against me, when some other salons definitely would have! Also, they can almost always get me in for an appointment when I need it. I'm also really glad they do not push products on me as much as some other places, like the salon my husband has been frequenting lately and like my former salon (Regis). While Emmanuel has tons of products and even cosmetics to sell, it's not an obligation here. Definitely a place to check out if you are looking for a new hair stylist. read more

Let me start off by saying I don't just let anyone touch my hair. It takes A LOT for me to be comfortable with that, so I'm the type of person that goes to the same hair stylist over and over. I was itching for a haircut. I made a call to my local hairstylist, only to find out she was on vacation. I had lunch with a friend later that day and she suggested I check this place out. I hopped on Yelp (as I'm sure most Yelpers do), and skimmed through reviews. It seemed that Jenni was the person to book an appointment with, so I went for it. She is a "level 3" stylist, so her price is $55, but the "level 1" starts off at $45. I can't speak for their services or skills, but Jenni is amazing and worth every penny. From her outstanding hair styling/cutting skills to her sweet and relatable personality. That hour that we spent together flew and I was completely at ease as she took my hair into her hands, which is not normal for me. I'm usually that customer analyzing everything the stylist cuts but for some reason, I felt comfortable with Jenni doing her thing. Maybe it's because she has such wonderful hair herself? I always figure that's the way to judge someone's skills...lol. The salon itself is very cozy. It's not as loud as some other salons, and the decor is very minimal, which I like. They seem to use good quality products which they DO NOT push on you...another thing that I loved. Hands down, best hair service I've ever had. I'm ditching my old salon and will be coming here from now on. Give this place (and Jenni) a chance and you'll wanna do the same. read more

I'm finally leaving a review about Emmanuel Salon! I always wait to see how my hair grows out and if I still really like it after I leave the salon, well it's been about three months, and I think I can tell I really like my hair cut! A lot of the reviews say similar things, but I'll repeat anyway because all of it is true. Like many others, I found this salon on Yelp, but it took some extensive searching to actually find (maybe there aren't enough reviews???). Once I had an awful experience with Studio 31 Hair Lab, I called here and was given an appointment the very next day! They saved me out of a bind. When I drove up, I got to park in a private lot, which is awesome because a lot of the Houston places require walking a long ways or parking in some obscure location. This was nice. I was greeted by the nice front desk staff and offered some water. I also filled out an info sheet about what I was coming in for, what style i'd like to go with, etc etc. It wasn't long before I was headed back for my cut with Jenni. I showed her pics I had gotten from online of girls with really short bobs. At this point my hair was halfway down my back and very dry feeling. I wanted to cut off almost 14"! I asked her how that would look because I have really thick hair, and I told her to tell me the truth about how she would like to see it cut and not just do what I said blindly. I was impressed because she did just that! She took what I wanted and made it short in back but a little longer up front and layered it so I didn't look like a short poof of hair. I also liked how she was talkative through the session because I'm pretty quiet and I like when the hairdresser talks more than me. She also was able to save my hair for Locks of Love like I asked her to. The best part was that she told me exactly when to come back. She gave me a time frame of three months due to my style and the speed of my hair growing. I really like that because usually I just leave it for a year or so and then get it trimmed and repeat. Oh, and she didn't upcharge for my long hair! Only $41. I was surprised. read more

After trying out Toni & Guy and having a good experience I decided to come here so I could get a quality cut with less pain in my wallet. Very clean facility and accommodating staff - I walked in at 10am and couldn't get an appointment, but in that business it's to be expected. I was scheduled for a 3:45pm cut by a level 2 stylist so I knew I was in good hands. Initially I wanted to choose a level 1 stylist or protegé, but it turned out great. Linda was my stylist and she followed the instructions I gave her about keeping my hairstyle roughly the same. Then she gave me a new look that I really liked and though I was a little self-conscious at first about the look and it turned out to impress a few of my lady friends. So that's always a plus and now they've got a loyal client for a very long time. read more

I always appreciate a business that tells you beforehand what to expect instead of blind sighting you at the checkout. I made my appointment with Liz. The location is easy to find and has plenty of parking. The front desk ladies are very sweet. They offered me a drink while I waited which of course I took advantage of. They also had me fill out a questionnaire on what I wanted from my visit today. My hairdresser Liz began my appointment on time and did a great job. She asked questions on top of the questionnaire information to get an exact feel for what I wanted from my cut. Liz is very personable and cut my hair exactly how I wanted it. She also styled it beautifully and I left very happy with the way my hair looked. read more

I give Emmanuel Salon a solid 4 stars. I've had my hair cut here twice by Sarah, and they've both been great. I recommend her if you're a guy looking for a clean cut... she's quick, efficient, and cool. The tiered pricing structure provides a lot of flexibility for the level of stylist you'd like to have cut your hair. I felt good going with a Level 1 and paying $26, and I'm totally satisfied with that choice. The salon itself has a nice vibe, and feels a bit trendy, which is cool to have at this price point. There are no frills either, and they don't try to push products, which I appreciated, too. I've had my hair cut all over the world at different prices, and Emmanuel Salon is up there in terms of overall experience. I initially found this salon on Yelp and read the reviews extensively. I called in the morning and they were able to make me an appointment as soon as I could come in. I was greeted by nice front desk staff and offered something to snack on and drink. They also had me fill out a personal info sheet about what I was coming in for, what style i'd like to go with, and where I found them. I had my color done by Theonee (i'm not sure if that's how you spell it) and she did a wonderful job. I showed her pictures of the color I wanted and was able to mix the right color I envisioned. I had my cut done by Jenni. She was absolutely amazing! She was talkative, but not too talkative. She read my personal info sheet that I filled out at the beginning of my appointment and Googled the people who's hair I was inspired by so that she could emulate the haircut as best as she could. I couldn't ask for a better cut! I asked for a "long bob like Selena Gomez/Olivia Munn" and she was able to perfect that cut for my face shape. I recently went to this salon for a cut. I've had long hair for 20+ years (all of my life). My hair was ruined.. Fried, dry, dead... BUT, I went to see LINDA and she did a wonderful job on my hair! We did a short cut right above my shoulders (I was so nervous about going that short) and it came out great.
