    Oyster bar special

Since this is my first time back to Seattle in nearly a decade I really wanted to eat some seafood. Saw the sign for oysters so my friend and I decided to come eat here. The place itself is cute however the food was aiite. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't great either. I was pretty disappointed that one of my oysters was practically nonexistent. The chowder was flavorful though. We were trying to figure out what it could be: maybe rosemary or thyme or both but it was yummy.

$2 an oyster, heard that is a great deal! We had ordered raw oysters, clam chowder and fried oyster. Walked in and looked like it was a seat yourself concept, but we weren't sure. The staff was friendly, came by and checked on us often. The raw oysters were pretty decent in size, some were big, some were smaller and some were normal. The clam chowder was okay, darker than what I usually see, more of a rosemary taste to it. The fried oysters were bomb.com! You don't need the dip but I ate it anyways. The seating area was tight, the booth tables looked small. They do have regular tables too. Overall not bad, would skip the clam chowder.

I am so confused about the poor reviews this place has received because we had a lovely experience. In my humble opinion, we had some phenomenal oysters, delicious fries with some kind of out of this world dill dip, with two great brews served iced cold. The service took a moment but it was only one person by themselves, taking care of around six tables and she was great! We sat outside in the corner, it didn't feel cramped or loud at all and there was an umbrella to provide shade on this sunny day. It was overall a great experience. I'm glad I didn't listen to the Yelp reviews here and read a lot of "must try" lists because this was honestly great. If we didn't have plans later I would have wanted to try more items on the menu but would definitely come back the next time we're in town!

The oysters here are good and cheap! I'm not oyster connoisseur but I very much enjoyed it for the price ($2 each, all day!!). We got a 1/2 dozen of the agate pearl and another 1/2 dozen of the sea whips The agate pearl oysters had kind of a sweet creamy taste to them while the sea whips was very briny. The oysters were on the smaller side and I did get some shell multiple times. The server was super nice although the food did take a while to come out.

$2 oyster deal! Short wait time + charming old-fashioned sea decor. Oysters were yummy and fresh.

Came in because we saw a sign advertising $2 oysters. There was only one waiter so we sat ourselves. The table was cleared, but it didn't look wiped down. The place was pretty crowded, we assume because of the $2 oyster deal. Our waiter was super busy but amazing. He didn't not have an easy job as the only waiter, but he did check in on us many times with a smile. The Agate Pearl Oysters were $2 each if you ordered at least 1/2 a dozen. The Olympic Wild, Cranberry Creek, and Kumamoto Oysters were $3 each if you ordered at least 1/2 a dozen. We ordered two 1/2 dozens of Agate Pearl Oysters and Fried Oysters for $16.46 with fries for an additional $4.95. We got horseradish for 50 cents. The raw oysters were delicious with the marinara and horseradish sauces. The fried oysters were delicious with their dipping sauce. The fries were alright. The fries were not hot and crispy. Unfortunately, one member of our group did have stomach issues a few hours after the meal. Would return for the raw oysters.

Good ambiance. Small restaurant. Great location near Pike's. The oysters are very good but some of them were far too big to eat comfortably. They also have a good number of drink options. A great place to stop for a between meal snack and drinks. Service was very good. Next door is a dumpling spot if you want something else.

Hidden in pike place market! My boyfriend and I had stumbled across Emmett Watson's Oyster Bar out of pure luck. We were feeling pretty spontaneous and a little hungry, so why not haha. We ordered half a dozen oysters ($2 each). Oh my goodness, they were delicious! Fresh, no trace of the ocean at all. They're sourced locally from what I remember and we had two types of oysters. So we did come like 30ish minutes before closing, but our server was extremely nice, attentive and did not disappoint! Usually people would get a little frustrated with their customers because of that reason, yet he took care of us well. Overall a great experience! And I look forward to coming back soon.

I have never been more disappointed. There was no line, no wait, so was very excited to try this place out! Yes, the reviews on this place are 50/50 but what yelp person wouldn't wanna give it a shot? Well, the clam chowder had a hair in it. After 1 hair I was willing to brush it off as maybe it was mine, but after the second one, nope, I couldn't. The clam chowder wasn't even hot, it was like warm at best. The ambiance feels nice, like a classic restaurant from the 1960's. All in all, I would tell you to stay away (and I have never done that before)

I have no idea why this place has such low reviews. I loved my experience here! Unfortunately, this restaurant doesn't have the best location. Although it's located in Pike Place, it's down in a hallway. Rest assured, you should definitely try this place out! They have a deal for $2 per Oysters with a limited purchase of 1/2 a dozen. But trust me, you're gonna want at least a dozen. We had only 1/2 a dozen because we were limited on time. The oysters were fresh and delicious! Their cocktail sauce and home made hot sauce was great with the oysters. The service was good. The employee was very nice and helpful. It didn't take long for our food to come out. The ambiance of the restaurant was good. It gave a classic seafood restaurant feeling. There were plenty of seating and nice setups for booths. I'll definitely be coming back here!

If you're looking for oysters searching "oyster happy hour" like I was, you'll miss the first ever oyster bar in Seattle that offers $2 oysters all day every day. No happy hour needed here, just super fresh oysters sourced from indigenous tribes in the area, from a privately owned indigenous man. Support local people, eat fresh, and enjoy this perfect little find right on pike street. The little creek ones were my favorite, soooo sweet, but the sea whips are worth a try, to taste the difference. I tasted the melon finish, do you?

Cozy little restaurant located in the shops adjacent to pike place market. Small menu but has all the necessities. They offer beer and wine. We got there around 5PM on a Sunday and sat at the bar. The bar had about 4 or 5 stools. We each had a seattle Pilsner and I tried the Asian Pear cider. The cider was yummy. We just had some snacks: fries, bread and butter, and a half dozen shuckers choice $2 oysters. The smaller oysters were sweeter (sea spray I believe), and the larger ones were meatier and briny (can't remember what they were called). Everything was great! Their Tabasco was made in house (interesting). Service was good. There was only 1 person serving and bartending. She was attentive and made sure we were all taken care of. Definitely would return for some oysters!

A bit surprised at the low rating as i enjoyed my dining experience here. I arrived around lunch and the server was great and the food was good.

It wasn't too hard to get a weekday reservation for 4 and it's located right on the waterfront of Pike's Place, but it was pretty easy to find street parking nearby. Overall, the food was a little inconsistent in quality across the board, but the vibes are excellent for a nicer night out. Oysters (4/5): Super fresh and they have a rotating set of local options. We went with the waiter's recommendation, which were super sweet and a bit salty. One of my friend's had never had oysters before and they were pleasantly surprised by the way it wasn't too fishy! Clam Chowder (4.25/5): Clam chowder was actually probably one of the best bites of the night. Super creamy and luxurious with a good amount of clams. Shrimp Cocktail (2.5/5): Unfortunately, the shrimp were overcooked and too chewy. A real shame because the shrimp are huge! Surf N Turf (2.75/5): Mixed feelings on this one. The scallops were really small, but delicious, fresh, and sweet. The beef cut was some sort of awful hangar steak that didn't feel fresh. A bit small for a main and roasted potatoes were just okay. Lobster Roll (4/5): The bread was warm and nicely toasted with butter. I wish there was a bit more lobster to improve the ratio, but the quality of the lobster was nice! Atlantic Beach Pie (4/5): Very very tart, but I loved it especially with the fresh whipped cream. The saltine crust brought a good amount of salt as well.

Our incredible server Trey soon came over and helped us decide on some drinks, as we were debating between a few. The menu has so many options, it was hard to just choose one! We soon put our appetizer orders in, as well as our entrees. The calamari tasted fresh and crispy, what's not to like? The oysters I was recommended, tasted sooo fresh! The smoked salmon deviled egg was something I've never thought would work, but it tasted amazing. You can never go wrong with fish and chips, which tasted great! Our server was so sweet and was very attentive throughout the whole night. Dessert time came around and Trey recommended this Washington berry pie, we were sold! It came out deliciously warm with some ice cream on top, which was the cherry on top for our night!! Can't say enough great things about this restaurant, great staff, solid menu, we will definitely be back!!

Have to admit at being disappointed in my latest experience at Dukes…read more It was about three weeks ago, the last Sunday in May. Went with my husband and met some family for lunch. We got there first, as the rest of the family went to the wrong location. So my husband and I were just there drinking water and waiting for them for a while. -I asked our waiter to please. "keep the water coming". Anyway, everyone finally arrived and we got things ordered. The food arrived in a timely way. Unfortunately, I have to report that their prices have gone quite high. I know most restaurants have had to raise their prices, but considering the food, both my husband, and myself felt that their prices were prohibitive, and with that in mind, we probably will not be back for quite a while. My hubbs had their lobster mac & cheese, which he gave a 7 out of 10. I had their lobster roll, which frankly, I could only give a 5 out of 10. It wasn't very flavorful, and definitely needed the dipping sauces that were served with it. Rather awkwardly put together as well, which made it kind of messy. Just kind of hard to eat. I did really enjoy their sweet potato fries though. Everyone else had various seafood dishes, which looked good, and one had a burger, which looked absolutely delicious. (I was kind of jealous once I saw it.) The service was good to begin with, but we had to flag down the waiter for water more than once. And towards the end of the meal, I was having some of that dipping sauce with the last of my sandwich; it was on the spicy side and I was out of water. Tried several times to get the waiter's attention, but it didn't work, and I had to literally yell at him to bring me some water. It was a little embarrassing, but I really needed it, & I was getting kind of mad! I mean, after all, I had made a point early on of asking him to refill the water. So that really kind of pissed me off. Because neither myself nor my husband had ordered any other beverage, & we really needed that water something fierce!! So obviously, I have mixed feelings on Dukes at this point. If money is no object, I'd say sure, go here and enjoy something tasty. But make sure you order some beverages so you don't have to count on the waiters for water!!!
