a tray of fried fish and fries
    Kyle W.

With more things opening back up, I decided to dine in and check out another fish and chips spot. I have tried Ivar's a few years back and recall that there you can opt for Cajun style etc. This place is located a little bit far off but still close to the water. This place offers some high quality fish and chips where the frying is on point, with no customizations. Every bite is crispy and it goes well with the tartar sauce and fries provided. However, I would say that the fish and chips is a little bit too dry, so a balance of crispiness and juiciness would be more ideal. There is ample socially distanced seating indoors and outdoors, with a great lakefront view.

Honestly, it is good experience. I knew it appears to be a food stand. It is. You wait in the line, make your choices, and they give you a tray of foods. We took our number to an outdoor table, facing Mt. Ranier, drinks in hands. Just a few minutes, someone brought our tray. The Poke was good and the Ling Cod fish-n-chip was delicious. We drank and ate and enjoyed the view: mountain over over on a beautiful day. Foods were good, drinks OK (not great), but the whole experience was very enjoyable. Guess it could be even better when COVID is over. Hey, not yet. And this is good now.

Anthony's pier self service cafe very good for quick bite or drink. We took 2 taco 1 x mahi mahi and 1 x salmon taco. Salmon was very yummy but mahi mahi was a bit dry. It needs some salsa or sauce. We got only ketchup for fries. Unfortunately with virus there is no more salt or pepper on the tables anymore and there is nowhere individual small salt packets. Everything you have to ask for. Even straws or utensils. It's a bit annoying. I wish they just kept individual plastic utensils. Margaritas were mediocre but it's only $6 so I don't expect anything fancy. Vanilla ice cream was very good with very good taste and texture. ------ Overall had a nice quick bite with nice fancy view. Place could be much cleaner and staff could be more friendly.

This place had what appeared to be one person working. She was friendly and quick but I can't imagine if there were more customers at the time, she would have been swamped. Ordered the chowder in a bread bowl. It was good chowder and the bread bowl was carefully buttered and toasted. Other items on the menu looked good when I glanced at other tables. There is outside seating for the rare day it's nice out.

Great food. Great service. Close to our hotel at seattle Marriot. Within walking distance. Right across the street. We got to sit inside and didn't have to wait in a long line.

We have been here for lunch twice now, and both times we have had bad experiences. The first time I ordered the roasted crab and shrimp roll, a couple of my colleagues ordered salmon taco. The crab and shrimp roll had a good amount of shrimp in it, but I missed the crab meat, it didn't have enough crab meat in it. It also has too much sauce on it. The sauce overpowered the meat. When I finished eating my roll, my colleague was still waiting for his taco, they had lost his order. By the time we received it, he had to make it to go since it had taken so long and they gave him cocktail sauce instead of the ketchup he asked for. The second time, I decided to try the clam chowder, the same colleague got taco again. The clam chowder was a disappointment, I mostly got potato, only a couple small pieces of clam, and didn't get any bacon (they call out the bacon on the menu, and I was told again while ordering that it had bacon in it). The taco again took too long and had too much sauce in it. You also only get one taco per plate, which isn't enough for lunch.

Great view of the crew ship but the clam chowder was super fishy I did not like it we tossed it didn't want to get sick before our cruise

Omg get there fish tacos, they were so good. The fish was so fresh and perfectly cooked and the salsa made all the flavors come together well. Also, the tortillas were SO soft and delightful. The service was quick and friendly! AND they're open during quarantine!! I'll be back soon!

Fries were good. Cod was too deep fried though :( bring back the old recipeeeee

Bring back the old recipe pleaseeeee. You guys had the best fish and chips in town and the new recipe is not it :( my cod and chips were fried for way too long and didn't have the melt in your mouth taste like before. Sad girl.

This place has gone down hill.... Went today at 3pm for early dinner.... Hostess wasn't very friendly and place is filthy.... For them to check your vaccine cards and be dirty is ridiculous. Forgot my soup.... Never refilled our waters and when they got a high chair... it was filthy covered in food. Had to clean it off myself.... And the food was absolutely trash.... 12$ for kids chicken strips which are cheap and probably cost 1$.... Go somewhere else's

    Fish and "Chips"

I was very excited to try some fresh fish in Seattle. My first night I walked over to Anthony's Fish Bar and ordered the Fish and Chips. I'm a Brit so I had high expectations to say the least. But honestly even if I hadn't had high hopes, it was awful. It was massively over-cooked, the fish was like rubber. And the "Chips" were just fries. Very skinny and greasy (also very over cooked). I'm honestly not sure how they managed that because it only took 5 mins..to be honest I am not sure the fish was even fresh. Which is embarrassing because they are located right on the pier :( Overall don't waste your money on something that looks and taste like food from chuckee-cheese.

The French fries are bomb! I ordered the Alaskan Cod and chips and my nephew ordered the clam strips and chips. I thought it was interesting that the fish wasn't coated in a light batter. It was more panko, which made the fish extremely crispy. I was hoping for more of a traditional batter. My nephew loved his clam strips and would order it again. Customer service here is fantastic!

If not considering the event itself, then this place is just the storefront with their kitchen in the back, and their interior is essentially all the seating inside the Armory itself. They're conveniently sandwiched between The Little Chicken Teriyaki and Big Mike's Sandwich Co., not too far from the doors leading to the restrooms. They serve seafood baskets, fish and chips, poutines and samplers on their menu, and you place your order on a kiosk at the front. Staff were ready to answer questions, and had a lot of good energy when serving orders to me and their other customers. I split with two others in my group the sampler, which consists of two pieces each of fried cod, oyster and shrimp, all on top of a bed of French fries. The tempura batter for all three came apart a little too easily, though it was even more so with the fried cod, as it was hard to use a spoon and fork to scoop up the easily broken pieces. Shrimp and oyster were both really good and not too salty on their own. French fries were also really filling, and were very fresh - they were on the verge of being too salty. Overall portion was relatively big and all three of us got full from splitting this.

The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!

Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to the reputation. The clam chowder was just average. It wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't memorable or deserving of the accolades we had read about. The slice of sourdough bread served with it was extremely dry and tasted stale, which was disappointing given Seattle's reputation for great sourdough. We also ordered the cod fish and chips, and the fish tasted like frozen, pre-breaded cod rather than fresh fish. The coating was crispy; although, the fish did taste fresh. Overall, we left feeling that the restaurant was overrated. We had expected a standout meal based on its reputation, but instead found the food to be average at best. While the service was fine and the line moved efficiently, we wouldn't make a point to return or recommend it as a must-visit dining experience in Seattle.

We came here to eat because it was near our hotel. I was OBSESSED with the crab nachos. 2 months later, I moved out here all on my own. Now, 8 years later, I live nearby. Whenever someone is visiting, we come here. Whenever I run into a stranger visiting, i say they have to come here. My friends know if i'm celebrating anything, "are you getting crab nachos?!" It's become a part of my personality at this point. I have so much respect for the owners, the way they run their business and their honesty online. No one I've brought here has had a bad thing to say regardless of what they ordered. My go to is: Pull apart bread, crab nachos (with their hot sauce!! which, btw can i buy that by the bottle.. cause YUM) + whatever drink is calling my name (they rotate, but if you can get the pina colada you won't regret it). tldr; you'll regret NOT coming here.

The outdoor patio is still there which was a nice addition from 2019/2020 era. Some of their bourbons are still reasonably priced. Their food is pretty good. Would recommend the tacos, the burger, and carne asada. The nachos were not particularly for me, and also seemed to come out cold. Seemed to have cheese sauce instead of actual cheese. It was a cold day however. This place is mainly great for happy hour after work, but will come back and try dinner another time. Staff is great though. THE SHORT OF IT: - Absolutely exceptional ambiance, food,…read moreand service. I can't wait to go back! Service was quick, attentive, and everything arrived in a very timely manner given how busy they were on a Saturday evening. The menu truly has something for everyone and the wine list is exceptional. We also had a birthday at the table and still felt special and well-attended despite every table being full. THE INSIDE: - The stained glass windows and hanging lights give such a warm, cozy, yet upscale vibe. - There are many tables and booths. - Handicapped accommodations can be made, but I'd ask in advance, as some areas are tougher to navigate than others. THE FOOD WE TRIED: - Pasta dish: Garlic Fennel Sausage, Oyster Mushrooms, and Snap Peas with Creczenza, White Truffle Oil, and Tagliarini balsamic, red and green basil, parsley, grana padano. Absolutely stunning. I could not finish it, so I'd suggest splitting it with someone else if you can't take it to go. It was so ridiculously flavorful and fresh. I want to eat this 11 more times. - Scallops dish: Sea Scallops Seared in Cast Iron with Oyster Mushrooms and Yellow Corn Risotto asparagus pistou, red basil, white truffle oil, crescenza, fine herbes. Presentation was gorgeous and scallops were melt-in-your-mouth perfect. The corn risotto underneath would honestly be just as good on its own. - Steak dish: Snake River Farms Wagyu Baseball Cut Sirloin 9 oz. The savory compound butter on top was the perfect amount, and the two sauces on the side (chimichurri and a brown one I wish I could name, it's in the pictures) were so good I could have eaten them by a spoon. Steak was cooked to an ideal medium rare with a perfect sear. This was the star of the table, even with everything else being SO GOOD. -Seafood: Big Easy Jambalaya, deep creole flavors, unapologetically spicy wild gulf prawns, chicken, house made andouille, tasso. The person who ordered this said it reminded them of straight New Orleans fare, so I trust their experience! Properly savory and chock full of flavor. SIDE NOTES: - Someone at our table had a seafood allergy and had no issues despite the vast amount of seafood on the menu and around us. - Reservation system is quick and easy. It feels a tiny bit cramped to move around outside of your seated area, but once you're seated, you absolutely won't care given how delicious everything is! - We ate here before attending an opera and had a cozy corner booth reserved months in advance, so that may have improved the experience a bit. :)

Not that I was expecting her to give me a cake but a smile would have went a long way. I ordered one of their margaritas and it was meh, overall I just didn't have a good cocktail anywhere we dined in Seattle. I ordered one of their king salmon dishes that was "creole style" but severely lacked seasoning. My boo ordered the steak, which also lacked salt and was served with boxed mash potatoes, which they should be ashamed for at this price point. I also had 4 oysters as an appetizer and they were so small! I was expecting more from the seafood as it seems to be what Seattle is known for. They oysters were fresh, but $22 for four tiny oysters is offensive. This experience may have gotten another star if the service was better but this is place I'd just skip.
