Never will be getting a vehicle from here ever! I traded in my vehicle for a jeep wrangler, clearly had issues I mean it had vice grips holding the steps on underneath. They said they would fix it so I looked passed and purchased it. A week goes by I am now traveling up to see my parents and the jeep overheated. I trailered it back down here and tested for a blown head gasket and that's exactly what it was! Brought to to them and "it's in normal operating temperature". I showed them the test and they refused to acknowledge that was the issue and stuck with it was fine. They eventually bought it back and it sat for another 5 months! Don't waste your time here unless you wanna... waste time. They give you the "we're a one price no haggle dealership" nonsense but then tag on BS fees like anti theft etching for $495 (costs about $70) and a straight up "dealer services fee" for $498 which is literally a fee for absolutely nothing. They even tried to charge me $255 for document fees even though my dealer (I was using another dealership to finance) was handling all the document fees When I called them out the refused to drop the fees saying "we're a no haggle dealership" despite adding fees ON TOP OF the agreed upon price. I even went so far as to say "you know, I'm fine with you taking some profit in the deal so let's split the fees, you keep the etch fee on there and remove the dealer services fee and we have a deal". They refused. They literally let an asking price deal fall apart because they did t want to concede a $500 BS fee that pays for absolutely NOTHING but their profit. Seriously, don't waste your time with these clowns unless you are willing to give them whatever they want to charge because when they say no haggle they mean you won't get a good deal out of them. Shortly after returning to Baton Rouge from Houston with our son's first truck, the check engine light came on. We were over 4 hours away from the dealership and not able to return for assistance easily. We had also bought the 6 year extended warranty and figured it wasn't anything seriously wrong with the truck. Upon checking the code, it indicated the catalytic converter was not working properly. We attempted to manage it on our own with higher octane gasoline and CAT clean, but the check engine light continued to return on. The truck has always run LOUD from the day we bought it, but we were ASSURED it went through rigorous inspection and everything was fine! Due to a random flat tire we took the truck to our trusted mechanic and upon hearing the truck run so loudly, he investigated and saw it had no catalytic converter and a pipe was WELDED in its place. The truck is parked in a safe neighborhood at the end of a long driveway with security cameras pointing right at it. No other vehicle at our home is missing a catalytic converter. Nobody in our neighborhood has reported a rash of stolen catalytic converters and our neighborhood has police patrol. The truck is also parked at a high school lot with security and no one at school is missing their catalytic converter. When we called Emmons they denied that it occurred prior to our purchase and claim that someone stole the catalytic converter, whipped out their handy welding kit and welded a pipe in its place. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE! We will never buy anything from them again. read more

Bought a 2013 E-350 passenger van. EVERYTHING WENT BETTER THAN THE USUAL CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE GOES. I was in and out FAST. The customer care here is 5 STAR. There was an issue with the van inside the warranty Emmons gives you. Because of the business I am in I couldn't get it worked on until this virus crap hit! Well, they fixed it even though it had been quite some time for me to get the van to them to work on. Mr. Kam Martinez in the Service Department got it squared away. I had spoke to our salesperson (Scott) on several occasions on several different cars. They had a Honda CRV 1 owner low miles, I called Scott made appointment, we got there he was with another customer but we waited, he had already pulled our crv out so that we could drive it. One thing they try to do is bring in clean low mileage cars/trucks for their business. We love our Honda and we will buy again from Emmons in the future. It is a different experience than most dealerships, and I mean that in a good way, we were treated excellent while there, the dealership is spotless. I bought a used Jeep Rubicon Wrangler unlimited from Emmons in May 2021. My salesman was very good and the price was fair. My problems arose after the purchase when several defects were identified. I was very unhappy with the level of inspections conducted and with their response to the problems I identified. After purchasing the Jeep, I determined that they had not had outstanding recall items addressed and that the spare tire was the wrong size and did not match the size of the tires on the Jeep. To my amazement , the GM said they were aware of this and did not disclose it. it gets better, he refused to pay for a correctly sized tire. He claimed you could drive a 4-wheel drive vehicle off road with different sized tires. Seriously, I could not make this up. Those were not the only issues. Despite touting their inspections of the vehicle the tow system was not properly wired. They did fix that. I subsequently determine that one of the rims had been damaged and should have been replaced. Last but not least, the radio navigation system would not work. They did offer to fix this if I drove the car 1300 miles back from Colorado. Not exactly the type of creative problem solving I would expect from a good dealer. My advice is don't assume their inspections mean anything, ask them to remove all wheels so you can inspect them for damage, and get a separate mechanic to inspect the vehicle. I could and did fix all of the issues. My point in this review is that they did not stand behind the product and took stupid positions on running different sized tires. When I met with the GM to discuss paying for a correctly sized spare he claimed I could run different sized tires. I told him that I would gladly go through the other jeeps on his lot and if any of them had spares that were smaller than the tires on the Jeep I would go away. However, if we found none with different sized tires, he should pay for the tire I bought. He declined my offer to no one's surprise. Problems happen. The issue here is their unwillingness to engage on these other problems. read more

Bought an $80,000 trackhawk from them. Drove it 5000 miles, it had only been a month and the engine blows on me. The dealer I took it to said there was only a 1/2 quart of black oil in the engine. Mind you it should have 6 quarts in it.. Talked to Emmons they said they checked the oil and it was perfect. Date on filter said 2/20. This was in December almost a full year later. I tell them the situation, but Emmons could care less. Warranty wouldn't cover, so I paid $17,000.00 for repairs. Month and a half later I get it back. A month and a half of rental car costs too. Have it and not even a month later the Transmission blows on it. I would highly recommend you take you business elsewhere. Once they sell you a vehicle that will not claim responsibility. I am 61 years of age and have been to a great many dealerships in my life. Never have I been treated as poorly as today. I went to look at a $30K vehicle which I likely would have purchased today. Before I looked at the vehicle I wanted to speak with the sales representative I had spoken with earlier. I was told that I cannot speak with a sales rep without first giving them all of my information. I said that it was my policy not to give out my information to a dealership until I am ready for a test drive. At this point I was asked to leave by the receptionship. I said I was surprised at their attitude since all I wanted to do was discuss a few details with the sales rep...Kevin....I had spoken with earlier. At this point Paul Logan steps up and says he's going to call the police if I don't leave within 1 minute. I said I'll leave...gladly....but I understand why their ratings are so low on some sites. I went to this place because my 19 year old daughter with a disability wanted to buy a car she saw online. I called Friday spoke to a car salesman told him I'll be in Monday because kid would be free. This is her first automobile purchase she's worked hard to save to get one. My wife is a RN and I'm a total disabled vet. We go inside I asked the salesman regarding the car. He tells me do you know the vehicular number. So we got treated disrespectfully I was asked if I had a license I said sure went to my truck that I paid for cash 70k and then the receptionist at the front was rude to both my wife and kid and made some rude comments as we all know part of making a purchase is based on the customer service. They want to keep your ID to go into the gated area to see the cars; like if you're going to steal or what? Im not leaving my ID or drivers license to anyone I don't know at the front desk! I just left and they won't have my business. The other 2 times where also bad, they were located in Pasadena and they underestimated me. My husband called and asked if a suburban was still available because he was interested and wanted to make sure before driving over an hour from Cypress. He was put on hold for 20 minutes and finally hung up and called again. When someone answered after several rings and he explained he had been on hold about a car, no apology was given. He again asked about the suburban and after a few minutes was told it was available. He said he was on his way from Cypress and he was told they close at 6:00. We got there in a little over an hour and told the lady at the desk that we had called about the suburban. She already had his phone number and name. She went to get someone and never came back. We saw the suburban out front and being purchased by someone else. I understand cars aren't held for people but I also understand customer service. If you have the contact info and it was not busy at all, pick up the phone and call someone. Two hours in the car wasted because of a poor communication system and bad customer service. read more

This is a long review because I want to be accurate and honest. I emailed Emmons asking about a van they had listed on the web. The listing had pictures and a lot of information about the van, but no price. I thought that was odd and specifically asked for the price in my 1st email to them. The response I received had the same information listed on the web, more web links to other vehicles they had for sale, but NO price for the van I emailed about. Since that was the only question I asked, I was annoyed. I did a quick check on Yelp and saw that they had a lot of bad reviews citing questionable behavior. I decided to email them anyway one last time and ask for the price in bold letters with stars around that question. Some time later, I received a response and to my surprise a good price on the van! That is when I called Colin (the sales person) on the van. He confirmed the price and I told him that was a good price and that I was from out of town. I told him I was going to drive to Webster but that it would be hard to make it by closing time so I may have to spend the night there. I told him I was a cash buyer and asked more questions about the van. He sent me more pictures and answered other questions. I told him that I would start driving to see it and asked that he confirm that the cruise control worked on the van. Some hours later I received a call from Colin as I was driving to Webster, he said he made a mistake on the price and that he could not sell it for the quote he had given me (written in email) and added $8,000.00 to the original quote! That is not a typo. They added nearly 70% to my original quote! At that price it was not a good deal. It was a really bad deal. We argued about Kelly values versus NADA and such but I told him that he was no longer even in the ball park at that price. He said his manager would not let him sell it at the original quoted price. I asked him to have his manager call me. I am still driving toward Webster as his manager called me some time later. He also refused to honor the original quote. I told him that he already had many bad reviews on Yelp and that I was hoping to leave him a good one. He said that "many businesses are having problems with Yelp reviews". I laughed and said yes, a lot of bad businesses! He refused to honor the quote and said "I have no idea how they got that price". I'm sorry but I don't believe that. The most important part of buying a vehicle, is price. If your business is selling cars, shouldn't you be able to figure that out? I am pretty sure Colin did not just make it up and I gave Emmons every opportunity to give me a good quote, and then honor it. They would not. This is a great example of something I have heard about used car lots doing for years. It's called "bait and switch". I thought it was illegal but perhaps I am wrong. In any case, all of the bad reviews on Yelp for Emmons seem to be well deserved. I should have known not to waste my time with Emmons based on the many, many bad reviews. Drove 4 hours to pick up pre-financed vehicle for my daughter's first car. We were told by Avery that the Jeep had tinted windows. Upon arrival at dealership, found that passenger side window tint was deeply scratched all the way down window. Instead of giving a discount so we could get tint replaced, GM argued with us and told us Jeep was to be sold as is. After literally arguing with the very unprofessional GM, he then told us that the service department deemed the tint as "too dark" and they would have to remove all tint. No money off price, no attempt to get tint re-installed, nothing. Then told us that he wasn't going to honor the sale of the Jeep if we continued to argue with him! The first car I bought for myself was from Emmons back 1998 thereabouts. It was a Pontiac Bonneville and still my most favorite car to date. It was fine as hell, damn I loved that car. My cousin introduced me to the Emmons because they knew one another from school. The Emmons treated me very good on the deal. I don't remember which one handled it, there's like 14 of them and they all look the same. Right? It was a much smaller place back then so they were more hands-on with customers. It was a very positive experience. Fast forward to last week. My experience was a little off-putting but I'm gonna chalk it up to growing pains. This new dealership is massive compared to the one I remember. This is a beautiful facility. There are inefficiencies they need to work out. 1 being why does the sale person have to go check with management to know the status of a car. I drove 30 minutes to look a car only to be told it had a deposit on it. The 2nd choice car the same thing. How exciting would this experience be if the website put a sense of urgency in you? Real-time updates like say when someone is test driving it says something like Bob S. is driving your car or that car you were looking at is now on deposit hold. Kind of like the Domino's tracker. At the very least the salespeople should be able to login to the site and check the status without running around trying to figure it out. 2nd the locations of the cars on the lot should be assigned so they are easily found. Like the Dodge Nitro is in space a14. The salesperson can go right to it. I wanted to wander around the lot and look for something else. That is part of the fun of car shopping. Looking in the windows I might have found something else I liked. Maybe something I was willing to spend more money than originally planned on? This didn't seem to be a thing here. I sat in an office and looked at the same website I had just looked at from my house and waited to see if it was available and waited some more for the salesperson to find it on the lot. In the end, the salesperson became impatient with me and I lost his attention. I would give them another shot when I am ready for another vehicle. I did go ahead and purchase from another dealership 100% cash and 1500 more than I had planned. That experience wasn't great either but it is for another review. read more

Yesterday, shopping online from Austin, I found a car I wanted to buy at Emmons in preference to a very similar one priced a bit lower at a dealer in Dallas. The Emmons site does a good job displaying the wares. I had run the VINs of both and checked them out thoroughly in various other ways, and I was ready to pay cash right then. I wasn't going to haggle -- I wanted the car Emmons had. I used Emmons' site to reach out to them, and a salesman emailed me a note asking me to call him back. I did so within two minutes since I was ready to buy and move on to the rest of my workday, and the salesman was already unavailable. He called back something like 2 hours later. He seemed unsure what I wanted. I asked him the condition of the paint, whereupon he offered to go take a look at the car and call me back after he did some paperwork. Five hours later, no call. I emailed him a question mark -- "?" -- as in, Hello, do you want to sell me a car at full price or not? No response. Now, the other dealer in Dallas had been politely and regularly checking in with me -- nothing aggressive, just "hey, we're still here ready to help, and we'd love to sell you our car. And by the way, ours is a great color." At 6:00pm, after most of a day of nonresponsiveness from Emmons about a car I actually wanted quite a lot, I threw in the towel and bought the other car with a "purchase" button directly on the other dealer's website. They're shipping it to their Austin location this week for me to pick up. No muss, no fuss. It's mid-morning the next day, and I have not heard anything from Emmons. Maybe they don't like cash sales? I know that dealers make good money on the lending side, so perhaps they judged me as a cash buyer and didn't want to do business with me. Maybe it's like with credit cards -- people who don't carry credit card debt are the "deadbeats." Oh well, at least I spent less somewhere else, got more or less the same car (lower mileage, actually), and better service. read more

When looking for used cars, I really like this dealer! I was able to look at and start anything I wanted with no Sales guy pushing me. I spent a couple of hours looking everything over on about a dozen trucks I was interested in. Soon as I needed someone they were there right away. I was helped by Joshua, a very courteous , knowledgeable nice guy! The test drive was perfect. The buying process and finance people were all excellent. The car was 13 years old but looked fantastic because of the detailing they do! I think what's important is to remember, these are used cars. It says right on the web page and the sticker, as is no warranty. So, you need to look them over very well. As far as the extra charges, I read the description of "Additional Charges". So, I ran the numbers myself before coming in with those charges. My figures for the out the door price was $40 OVER what they actually charged me. So know what your doing before you go. I read some of the reviews here and wonder why nobody bothered to read this before they got there! I mean....your going to look at cars, test drive them, and NOT bring your Drivers License? Bottom Line...I took my time, understood what I was doing, and am very happy. read more

First, they had my perfect car -- a low miles, one-owner Ford Mustang convertible for a great price. Second, my salesman -- Josael Palacrios (aka Joe) -- went above and beyond to provide exceptional service. Not only was he professional and thorough on the phone, but knowing that I was a little nervous about the online purchase, he even went out and took additional pictures of the car. He also took two videos: one of him starting the car so I could hear the engine, and one of him turning up the sound system. Third, the business office sent my paperwork quickly and efficiently for an overnight FedEx return package. My salesman Joe even helped with the pickup of my car for delivery.
