I happened to be down the street visiting the Titans house and I decided to make the short walk to Emmy for some pizza. I was immediately greeted by the staff when I entered the door and was seated at the bar. Coming from New York this was not what I was used to as far as a pizza joint. It was a very relaxed atmosphere and if I didn't know better, I would've thought it was a café or a coffee bar. I don't remember the name of it, but I ordered the pizza with all the meats in a large, which I originally thought was a mistake, but then was a blessing. The pizza was amazing. The dough was cooked to perfection, crispy on the bottom, but still a little soft on the inside. The toppings were hot, the cheese was melted perfectly and caramelized on the edges like a Detroit pizza should be. I was having a rough day and this meal turned it around. Like I said the large was way too much for me to eat in one sitting, but I was able to take more than half home and make a second meal out of it. Pro tip. Reheat in an air fryer at about 350° for around five minutes and it's almost like it just came out of the oven the first time This is definitely gonna become a regular stop when I'm in Germantown. read more

Emmy Squared is a great place for Detroit-style pizza. The service was a little slow since the restaurant was very busy. I decided to make a reservation beforehand, and that was a good decision for a Friday evening. The restaurant has plenty of seating indoors, outdoors, and at the bar. We opted for an indoor table overlooking the street. The pizza was delicious. I chose a build-your-own pizza with vodka sauce, Nashville hot chicken, and pickles, along with a side of ranch, and this was my favorite. The chicken was juicy and crispy, and it seemed like it had just come fresh out of the fryer. My wife ordered a Burrata Basil Margherita, which I devoured as well. The pizza itself is very good (some of the best in Nashville), but the overall experience is lacking in execution on the customer service side. Specifically the dark haired guy with a beard is quite aloof and impersonal. His primary focus is generally on getting out to the patio for his next cigarette and if he's looked to for even the most minor task (such as seating someone) he becomes extremely put out. Another odd choice is to offer half price/two for one pizzas on Sunday only for those who are dining in. There are any number of reasons why one would be taking the pizza home rather than dining in. Emmy Squared is a cute restaurant in Germantown serving Detroit style pizza, one of my favorite types! They had a great selection of pizzas, in which I ordered the Good Paulie. While tasty, the pizza wasn't anything out of this world. The mozzarella sticks were also tasty with a good cheese pull, I enjoyed that they didn't skimp out on the marinara sauce, as it brought plenty to even dip the pizza in too. Stopped by for dinner recently and had a good experience. We were seated almost immediately and service was decently quick. The outdoor area was pretty sparsely decorated but the interior looked cool. We got the MVP pizza and loved it, pesto is such a tasty addition to pizza. I don't know if I'll ever forgive them for getting rid of the hot chicken pizza and replacing it with a Hawaiian. That was by far the best thing on their menu and I sadly don't go here nearly as much anymore because of it. Service can be sometimes slow, so I often think sitting at the bar is the best. This is a cozy small place. There were 3 of us yeah and say it's good for small groups though there was a table of 8 people that was there too. The pizza was good and the Cesar salad was fresh. I tried Emmy Squared pizza at the Germantown location. Like most restaurants in Germantown, parking is slightly challenging unless you are okay with a pay lot. There is a pay lot right next to the pizza restaurant. The restaurant itself was well decorated, and the service was prompt and friendly. The pizza is Detroit Style. I wasn't entirely sure what that tasted like until I went there. Its not thin crust but not deep dush. The closest analogy I can use is the pizza tasted like a really good version of Jets pizza. The ingredients are high quality and full of flavor. The price seems high, but the size of the pizza basically guarantees taking half of it home, which I actually did.
