Outstanding Detroit style pizza Might be the best I have ever had The sauce was absolutely delicious Would love a plate of rigatoni with it Service was friendly Nice location Clean bathrooms Funny thing is I pass by the location in Brooklyn all the time and I have never been there....go figure. I believe they only have lunch hours on the weekend in Brooklyn, it will have to be a trip I make....its worth it

I've been dying to try Emmy Squared in multiple cities and finally got a chance while in Nashville! My group was definitely skeptical that I wanted to stop here as our first stop of the trip but completely understood after trying the pizza! We're all big fans now! Loved the sausage and ricotta pizza and the mozzarella sticks were excellent too! Service was super friendly and the restaurant wasn't too busy and was very clean!

$3/mozz stick?! For these store bought things?

Date of visit: March 16, 2025 Definitely one of the more odd dining experiences I've had, in Nashville or anywhere, really. We walked in at about 7 p.m. on a Monday and Brandy D was standing near the host stand and gave us an odd look and a very cautious, "Hello..." in a way that had me worried that we came in after they closed and I immediately turned around to verify that they were in fact open until 9 p.m. She was doing something else and so we asked if we could get a table. She then became annoyed and said that she told us she would be right with us. Actually, she hadn't, but sure. She then took us to a table and her attitude got marginally better, but she's not winning any awards for service any time soon. The pizza was pretty good, we built our own with sausage and pepperoni, and enjoyed it though it was a bit expensive for the size. On the other hand, the mozzarella sticks were mediocre, reminding me of the ones you get in the freezer section at your local grocery store. And at $3/stick, definitely a horrible value.

Amazing pizza! I've never liked thick crust, but after eating here, I might never go back to thin crust! They know what they are doing! They have a few different sauce options and tons of fun topping combinations. The parking might be a bit tricky on a busy day, but there's tons of lots in the area if needed. The gluten free crust is also super good!

Stopped over here for a late lunch during Tomato Arts Fest. It was fairly busy, so it took a few minutes for them to catch up before seating us. We had a group of 7 but they were able to get us a table to accommodate. I split the watermelon, burrata and basil salad (on summer special) and the hamburger (on a pretzel bun?! My friends got the colony pizza (their go-to) and the brussel sprouts salad which was also great.

    MVP Pizza
    Mandy H.

Food was pretty good overall. Some pizzas were better than others. The Zia fries were a bit overwhelming. The Miranda was dry with no sauce but the MVP was better. Service was okay, we couldn't ask to customize much since our server mentioned that the kitchen spoke a different language. Ambiance was cute inside and there was some parking on the side, but there's also street parking. 7/10

Excellent Detroit pizza that wasn't overwhelming while maintaining a quality doughy bite. One regular sized Good Paulie was more than enough for two women to share. Very cute location in East Nashville with enough parking to be reasonable, both paid and street parking. Wish we could've tried more pizzas. Server was nice and the restaurant was clean and well decorated with dinosaurs.

What a fun pizza spot! Detroit-style crust is my absolute favorite, and I was looking forward to checking out Emmy Squared after driving by several times and admiring their unique logo. I ordered dinner for takeout on a Friday evening. Pick-up was easy once I found a place to park. This is a very busy area of East Nashville, especially on a Friday night. I recommend parking back behind The Treehouse if you can't find any spots in the lot outside the restaurant. The interior of the restaurant is cool - dimly lit with a modern, upscale vibe. My food wasn't quite ready when I arrived - but I don't mind waiting a few minutes when it's fresh out of the oven. The staff was friendly, and I appreciate that they have a designated seating area for to-go orders. I couldn't resist their delicious sounding Brussels Sprouts salad, and I can confirm that it's a great way to kick off your meal. For pizzas, I went with the Colony and the Big Ang, both of which were tasty. Emmy Squared definitely knows how to rock a crispy crust. I will say that the prices are a bit expensive per pizza for smaller size pies ... but sometimes that's just part of living in Nashville. Either way - it's great to have an awesome pizza spot so close by! I'll definitely keep Emmy Squared in mind the next time I'm craving Detroit-style pizza.

Like a few other reviews, this one is a mixed bag. The pizza is really good. The quality of the ingredients and overall taste is excellent. It is a particular style of pizza - square slices, thicker crust, crispy edges. Not for everyone, but one of the better pizzas in Nashville. Ordered online. Appreciated we could order direct from them (not go through a third party), settle the check as a guest, meaning, only giving the information needed, and didn't feel overburdened or was being mined for marketing data. Got there well before the quoted pick up time, and the staff was great, friendly, felt like they were genuinely empathetic about the pizza not being ready when I walked in. Still the pizza was ready to go 15 minutes before the quoted time. So overall speed and service A+. This would be 5 stars, except for value. While, I'm more than willing to pay a tidy premium for excellent food, and great service, a $26++ price tag for six 3x3 slices is a bit a pricy. The pizza is personal pizza size, or about the size of a NY style slice, only a rectangle. Extrapolate and do the math, their pizza costs a little over $60 per square foot. 5 times more per square foot than marble tile for the bathroom. And I wouldn't pay that for marble either- and the enjoyment lasts longer. Do I like the pizza? Yes. Is there value in their unique pizza, ingredients, taste, friendly service? Yes. Are they riding the Nashville wave of ridiculous pricing? Yes. Can I justify the expense? Probably not.

Gluten-free pepperoni pizza with ricotta and Calabrian chili
    Jessica K.

This is the best gluten-free pizza I've ever had! It's a little pricey, but worth every penny for Detroit-style, fluffy, crispy, gluten-free goodness. It hits the spot every time. And adding ricotta cheese and Calabrian chili is the pro move for the most amazing flavor. I will keep sharing because it's just that good!

His theory is that pizza always puts him in a good mood, so why not always be looking at pizza. Okay, none of that is true, except for the part that he said it was the best pizza he ever had. My slice was very good but I don't know about all that. It seems to be a common theme at Five Points East though. Therefore, go for it! Our server, Annie, was excellent. And very efficient at her job. As for atmosphere, pretty cool! Small but cool. And I actually like that they don't have Italian food and stick to their speciality. I took my buddy out for a celebratory promotion dinner to Ophelia's. We're from Huston and staying at the hotel across from this restaurant, we heard great things so on our last night we decided to celebrate his good news here. Within thirty seconds of us sitting down our waitress came out to greet us and pour waters for us. She was incredibly kind and bubbly, beautiful young girl. The service was next level. Our server, Lu lu, gave us great recommendations on cocktails and appetizers. She got to know what we enjoyed and recommended the whipped ricotta to us, which was delicious. Creamy ricotta with honey, oil, spice, and bread. Game Changing bread, perfectly baked. When it was time for our dinner, we decided to get the calzone, lasagna, and a pizza. The food came out within twenty minutes and it was just incredible. We decided for tiramisu as our dessert, but we should've gotten the cream puff, the table next to us got one and it looked great. When our waitress brought out our check she very respectfully asked where my buddy was from, as he has a pretty thick accent. He told her that he's Russian and her face lit up, she immediately started having a full conversation with him in Russian. Apparently, she knows the language conversationally. I mean, what a coincidence. My buddy was so tickled by it, and I think he really appreciated it. We also saw the chef come out and talk to one of the other tables, seriously, people were asking to speak to the chef to give their compliments. The pizza was just as good as I remembered. It's one of the stronger options if you're looking for a Chicago-style tavern pizza in Nashville, and the quality of the food continues to be the restaurant's biggest strength. The atmosphere, however, wasn't quite for me. The restaurant fully embraces its Chicago identity, which is certainly part of its concept. Personally, I would have enjoyed seeing a few subtle nods to Nashville or the local community to help it feel more connected to the neighborhood rather than feeling as though it had been transplanted from another city unchanged. It seemed very tone deaf and if I could get the Chicago experience in Nashville why would I ever visit the Chicago location? The music was also much louder than I expected. It created more of a nightclub atmosphere than a neighborhood pizza tavern, making it difficult to carry on a conversation. Live music would have felt more fitting for the setting, especially during CMA Fest. The staff was friendly throughout the evening, but service was a little slower than expected. The restaurant didn't seem particularly busy at the time, yet the kitchen appeared to be running behind, so there was more waiting than I anticipated. Overall, Dicey's Pizza & Tavern still serves excellent pizza, and I'd happily return for the food. I just hope that over time the dining experience evolves to feel a bit more welcoming for those looking for a relaxed meal rather than a high-energy atmosphere.
