We hosted a lovely, friendly and special family meal here. We finished our artsy crafty workshop a little early so we arrived before our reservation. Tori, the hostess, was very accommodating and managed to procure us a table by the windows. There really is a nice view and it got even better at sunset. Huckleberry drinks and desserts were the specials! My wife and I had never tried huckleberries so we got both drinks, huckleberry lemonade, and dessert, a huckleberry slump with ice cream. In fact, we were so enthusiastic, we ordered our dessert for the first appetizer course! The main could wait... we wanted to try huckleberries! CJ, our waitress, was enthusiastic, professional, helpful and fun! She was happy to accommodate our special huckleberry needs! For mains, we tried halibut, seafood risotto and more! I'm actually relieved that Anthony's has retained the Emory's charm. If I'm being completely honest, I'm not much of a fan of Anthony's restaurants, as I find their menus boring, and the kid's menus are not great (if they even have them). So, I was kind of bummed when Emory's sold. Fast forward to now, we've been back to Emory's twice since the changing of hands, and it's been great both times. They have a large event space in a back room, with lots of tables and booths, and also reasonable prices. This night, we sat in the main dining room. I did feel as though some of the entrees were pretty expensive for the area, but my husband and I opted for pizzas, which were more in line with the budget we wanted to stay in. We love both the Prosciutto and the Margherita pizzas. They have a thin, crispy crust, and are cooked in their woodfire oven. I was even more impressed with their kids menu. Lots of options, and great portions for the price. Definitely one of the better kid's menu in town. Love the lodge vibe as well as the water view. Our server was fantastic! I've been going to Emory's with my family ever since I was younger and this was my first time at Emory's after a long time. The interior is almost the same as I remembered and the view is still beautiful that overlooks Silver Lake. The food is still as good as I remembered. I ordered the steak with crab on top with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Price was $32 which is pretty good for steak and crab. Complimentary bread was soft and warm served with olive oil. They only do happy hour at the bar though which is kind of a bummer because they have great happy hour menu. read more

But this time, the Salmon Appetizer was too oily and salty and the claim chowder wasn't hot. But we loved the charcoal taste of the salmon. We came in for dinner with a reservation at 6:30p for two. We checked in and waited a few minutes before being sat at one of several open booths (which we requested in the reservation.) Water was dropped off at our table and then we waited over fifteen minutes for our actual waitress to take our beverage and food order. Their only vegetarian option was the Bruschetta Flatbread from the small plates menu, and their seasonal menu featured peach flavored items. We ordered the flatbread, a bowl of clam chowder, a Mac N Jack on tap, and a Pink Rose cocktail, followed by a slice of the peach cheesecake that we asked for when our other food was dropped off (to which she said, "On top of this food?" when I knew well enough we'd be waiting a hot minute for anything we ordered.) The chowder was said to be rich and delicious, the flatbread and beer were exactly as expected, and the cocktail could definitely have used some more raspberry syrup. The cheesecake was a plain flavor cake drenched in peaches and a thin sauce (similar to something you could put together at home with Costco ingredients); it would be nice if the featured cheesecakes actually contained the featured flavor and not just had it added on top. We came here for the all you can eat crab night and it was really fresh, The crab was great. I appreciated you could have it cold or hott, served with lemon and hott butter. They also have a great chocolate martini and their spicy bloody Mary's are great. Got the shaking beef appetizer? I think that was my favorite part. We went to Emory's on a Sunday night and it was really crowded. It pays to get reservations. As noted in the title, it sits right on a beautiful lake and you have the choice to eat outside or in. The interior is very nice also. Service was excellent and very friendly. For appetizers, we had the spicy buffalo cauliflower and the bruschetta flatbread. The cauliflower is really spicy--but also tasty. The flatbread was excellent. The crust is perfect, with a great mix of toppings--in particular the tomatoes and balsamic glaze were perfect complements. I had one of the special items, halibut with risotto and mushrooms. The halibut was cooked perfect--buttery, not too dry, well seasoned. The risotto was delicious also, great meal. I also tried some of the salmon--this was really great as well. For dessert, we had the mixed berry shortcake. This was excellent as well--the berries were super fresh and the cake was wonderful. The wife and I have lived in this area for 84 years. Last night we were celebrating our 33rd anniversary. We love Anthonys so thought we would give Emory's a try being they are a few miles from our home. We were seated in a very nice area outside with a view of the lake. Everyone acted as though they were happy to be working that evening. Wife and I both ordered the 3 for $33. Wild Salmon Duet. Char grilled citrus butter shrimp. Course 1, good. Main meal, Served on a large bowl, not a dinner plate so everything was on top of each other. The salmon was very good. The shrimp, med sized, reminded me of a bag of frozen shrimp that was dropped into some water, taken out to dry and dropped on the plate. I do not like to complain to a server but when he came to check on us, my wife told him the Shrimp was cold and chewy while I told him they were dry and tough. He did offer to get me a another order of shrimp but I declined. I want it right the first time. Oh, when we got our first course, I had a cup of clam chowder and the wife had a Salad, we asked if they did not serve bread with this meal. I think he told us they did but was it was not ready as of yet. We di get it served after we had finished our first course and a small bowl of olive oil and garlic. No butter. No, I did not ask for some. Why should I have to? So, bottom line, the dinner of celebration cost $100 even with the tip. I think maybe we will stick to Anthonys from now on. Finally, upon asking the waiter about it, he told us that they were having trouble getting the pizza dough to rise so the chef had made our pizzas with cauliflower crust. Not acceptable to us. We had to wait again for menus so we could re-order, which we did. In the middle of our meal, pizza in boxes arrived at our table because apparently the chef had gotten some of the dough to rise. It was a little weird and communication between the kitchen and the waitstaff and the customer was not great. I'm really surprised this place is still open. It's been around a dozen years or so since I ate here my first time and I never came back. Brought a date here for like a late lunch if I remember correctly was not a premium busy time at all. The place was maybe 10% full. The service was crappy the food was barely cafeteria style institutional food at best, and for the price it was just an epic failure. I've driven by it a few times through the years usually early evenings and never really see a big crowd of cars there which is why I'm shocked that it's still open. There must be a big lack of decent restaurants in that Silver Lake area is all I can imagine which is hard to believe because just a little south of there is Mill Creek town Center that has quite a few places that have much better food and service than Emory's at the lake. read more

Appetizers: Ahi tuna Calamari Clam chowder soup Entree: Pablo crusted Alaskan cod Calamari was the best dish of the night, but it was only above average. The ahi tuna had these good taro chips but the chips were thin and didn't hold the tuna well. Flavor was okay. Clam chowder was average. Alaskan cod was very dry and bland. There was a only a little bit of sauce on the veggies. The mashed potatoes were above average though. The portion sizes are very large, but prices are high so it goes hand in hand. I'm a huge fan of lavender and huckleberry, however I was a bit apprehensive about the combo. It ended up being perfectly balanced without being too sweet. Here's where I go wrong, I ordered the pizza. I think I should've stuck to something seafood, or something, as that is what they are known for. But then I got my steak the northwest top sirloin 39$ my brother had the ribeye 62$ so between us 101$ dollars and it tasted like someone just threw on a hot pan and brought it out. Both were ordered medium rare both came out close to medium or medium well. They both had zero flavor you'd think for 101$ you'd get at least salt....nope we had to keep adding that ourselves. This was a huge serving that literally was not even attached to the bone, it was so soft, moist and melted in your mouth! It came with mashed potatoes and broccolini with a sauce that the lamb was stewed in. This gravy was thick and rich with flavor. My love ordered the Chicken penne saltimbocca. This was a generous portion of soft chicken breast in a cream sauce with perfectly cooked penne pasta. Rich and creamy, it was delightful. Our friends ordered the pork chop and the surf and turf. The pork chop was a large thick chop, tender and flavorful with a side of mashed potatoes and veggies. She loved it. The steak and prawns were cooked perfectly as ordered. Again with mashed potatoes and veggies. The prawns were rich with herbed butter. The steak melted with every bite. We truly could not have had a better meal. We all walked away fat and sassy, with leftovers to enjoy at home! The ambiance was nice, not too loud, lighting could be a little brighter, the lake is pretty with the sun going down. Made reservations on Open Table that explicitly stated 'outdoor dining' (staff tried taking us to a table smack in the middle of a crowded restaurant indoors, and when we stated we had outdoor reservations, they said it wasn't a thing, argued with me and it would be a 40 minute wait). 2. Mask requirements are in full effect for Snohomish County (too bad the girl at the front didn't have her mask covering her nose and they were blatantly allowing people to leave and enter the restaurant maskless, and gather in the front, blocking the doors, maskless). 3. Parking should be available for patrons of the restaurant (instead of making them park somewhere 'across the street', if the lot is full, meaning, 'across a 4 lane highway with a turning lane where cars are going upwards of 50mph). Didn't see the menu, didn't try the food, definitely don't want to give this another opportunity since the experience was so incredibly sour. What a shitshow. Learn how to communicate with your customers, learn how to make people adhere to mandates for the safety of everyone, and learn how to set something up properly on OpenTable to prevent customers from making an hour+ drive to get somewhere they think will be relatively safe by eating outdoors at a mask-required space during a pandemic. She saw on our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary and it made us feel special that she mentioned our anniversary. Our meals were so delicious! First time at Emory's and I think we will return. We enjoyed our food and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Service was standard and the portions were a bit small for the price, but if you realize that you're paying for the atmosphere and the view then the food seems more reasonable.
