It's time for me to reconsider my earlier rating, and to do it by a wide margin. This place might have gotten too packed for my tastes last time, and had too lousy a band. But that doesn't mean they aren't decent at what they do. If you're not crazy picky about food and especially if you can snag an outdoor table on a nice day, definitely feel free to push this up a star. It's still a nice-enough building by a busy road on the shores of a small lake. On a pretty sunny day, you might get one of the 40 or so tables on the lakeside deck, and get to watch kayakers, kids fishing off the dock, ducks flying around, and other tranquil scenery. Traffic noise isn't too bad, and the houses don't mess up the view. The service is mostly kids working their way up in the industry, and doing a pretty good job of it. They are right on point with every table visit. We sat down to a plate of calamari and a cup of french onion soup. The calamari had good texture (most important part) and the flavors were fine but super mild. The sriracha-blended dipping sauce added a little life to it. The soup was pretty good. Maybe a bit sweet, but plenty of onion flavor, nice big croutons that didn't turn to mush, and plenty of cheese. The cheese wasn't quite melted enough to easily pull off small bites, so 60% of it ended up in one big mouthful, but it tasted good. The house white wine was fine, and the pint of Bodhi was plenty cold, fresh, and served really clean (clean glass, clean lines). We repeated each of these. The clam entree was really nice. Only one clam didn't open. Good flavors on all the rest. Nice mild seasonings. The french dip sandwich was very good--tender meat, just enough cheese to keep it from being plain. Lightly moistened mini-baguette, with a bowl of good jus for dipping. The french fries were the best part of the whole meal--crisp outside, light inside, bit of seasoning. Worth bragging about. The whole megilla (2 entrees, 2 apps, 2 wines, 2 beers) was $111 before tip. Fair value for the money. The apps could have both been easily improved, which would have made the price seem totally fair. As it was, the price wasn't annoying, but it made me think I need to order things that I know will be exactly what I want before I'm 100% comfortable with the number. It's just enough cash that you walk away thinking "well, I wish we could fine-tune this or that so it felt like it covered all the bases for the money." But I can now definitely say I'll be back. read more

Nice decor and great view of the lake. Service was slow. Waitress said she'd bring out water, brought water THEN came back to get our drink order. Food was decent, but nothing special, not worth the price. Steak was ordered medium, almost no pink at al, pretty much well done. By the time waitress came back to check, we didn't want to wait for another. Sockeye salmon was also overcooked and not much flavor. Peach salsa was tasty Thick cut pork chop was served in a bowl (?). Which makes it difficult to cut. Overall not the dining experience we expected for the price. read more

My husband and I dined here for dinner with a few friends. My friend was able to make reservations that same day and we were seated right away upon arriving at our designated time. The first thing to mention is the parking lot can get completely full during peak times and you might not find a spot. We were lucky to find one behind the restaurant near the dumpster. The ambiance and decor of the restaurant is classic PNW style and classy. It has a gorgeous view of Silver Lake and sunsets are fun to watch from their lake view tables. They do have an outdoor seating area which would be nice during summer lunch hours. Unfortunately, service was very slow. We were out of the restaurant 2 hours after our reservation time. We can't complain because we were quite enjoying our time with our friends. Just don't expect a quick dining experience. My husband ordered the large chicken salad which he thought was overpriced for what it was. I ordered the Salmon entree which I thought was very delicious but the portion size was smaller than expected for the cost. For dessert we ordered the crème brûlée which was excellent. Overall, we'd return for the gorgeous sunset view over the lake and to try other yummy seafood options off the menu. read more

First restaurant on my visit to Washington. It was exactly what I needed after my long day of flying & adjusting to a different time zone. Their drink menu is unlike anything I've ever seen, so I picked the pineapple coconut margarita. One word: dangerous! You can't taste any of the alcohol, but I promise it's in there & it's delicious! I obviously had to give their famous clam chowder a try. It was delicious! Absolutely a 10/10 from my South Carolina tastebuds. I also partnered my chowder with the Kalbi beef bites. Ugh! Cuts like butter!!! These bites are on the starters menu, but they're definitely entree worthy. Finished off the night with their crème brûlée!! I'd visit this restaurant every night for dinner if I was staying in this state longer! read more

Everything was great! We had reservations for 830 but we sat down @8. Food came out pretty darn fast and everyone was very nice. Not a complaint but the server we had, it was her 3rd day, she rambled a lot (seemed nervous & a little scrambled) & spilled some water and ice on the table but everyone has first days! We tipped her good for doing her best and let her know she's excellent for working hard! This place came highly recommended and quite honestly didn't live up to the hype. Was it good, yes, but it was far from great. Several things make up a great restaurant experience and here is a sampling. Great Food, Fast Friendly Service, Reasonable Pricing, and a Comfortable Stay. Emory's had none of this, so allow me to break down our stay. First was parking. There were two other cars trying to find a spot in this cramped lot. We had to execute 4 point turns just to get out of the dead end we found ourselves in. As it turns out. During this turn, we spotted someone leaving and got a great spot, but the lot was packed and even though they have a secondary lot, for the prices charged, they need valet service on peak hours to make guests feel valued and welcome. We had reservations and much to my surprise, they were ready to seat us right away. Too a while for the server to show, he took drink orders. He returned with drinks and left again. When he returned minutes later, he asked us about "Small Plates". We responded by advising we're hungry and wanted big plates. Why are you trying to pace my meal. It's busy, we're hungry, get us in and out. He took our order and advised he'd be back with bread. Bread? We've been here 15 minutes and you are just talking about bread, WE'RE HUNGRY! He came back 5 minutes later, empty handed, I asked about the bread and he told us it was still coming. And it did come about 5 minutes later, the bread was really good, but not worth the extended wait. When the food came, it was decent, but certainly over prices. I had the $25 room temp French Dip. The beef was tender, but the combination of the weak, lukewarm au jus and stale fries just made me feel like I heated up Arby's. One friend had the fish and chips, he liked it, but he is also Mikey, he eats everything. Another friend had the Palmera pizza, which came highly recommended by our server. He was not at all impressed. At no point was anybody rude, everybody was pleasant, but the service was really slow, the food was not served hot or fresh and the portion did not compliment the price. In the end, I have paid considerably less for pleasingly more. This place must be the only game in town, because I wouldn't be open to returning. I think we could have done much better at the Keg in Lynwood or even alternative spot in Bellevue or Seattle. This place was not foot forward. read more

The Good: I'm getting hungry thinking about this meal and I've just ate! Service, atmosphere, and food are excellent. Due to COVID19 restrictions, all seating is on the patio but that's the best part. Emory's has always been known for their patio dining due to the views of beautiful Silver Lake. With a huge fireplace and countless heatlamps, you'll be super comfortable. I opted for the 8oz filet mignon ($44) medium rare, and I can honestly say it was one of the best steaks I've ever had. Accompanied by garlic mash potatoes and broccolini, it was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious. I also asked them to add melted blue cheese to my steak which that happily did (Just $2 extra). Meal also comes accompanied with rolls and oil, also delicious. The Bad: There is none! Emory's is always a wonderful experience! We've been here twice now, both times for our anniversary which is the one time a year we splurge on a really good dining experience. Both visits to Emory's have been top notch. From the hostess stand to the bill pay, the customer service is incredible! Everyone is smiling and personable! Our waiter even took time to take some pictures for us! I love the ambiance here! It's warm, cozy, welcoming. Tonight is particularly cold but the temperature inside was perfect (we even had a conversation about it). The fireplaces add a lodge aesthetic and it feels like the perfect little escape. Factor in the gorgeous view and it's just lovely! The food- impeccable! Tonight my husband had a New York steak, medium rare and it was seared to perfection! The vegetable mix was so colorful and full of flavor. I had the saltimbocca- perfect! Creamy with the perfect amount of seasoning! I have very mixed reviews on Emory'. The seating time was good, order time good, and order serve time good. Then it was time to get our bill and we sat for 22 minutes waiting for our server to cash us out. I have never seen that before. As for the restaurant itself, the view is amazing and the decor is nice. It did feel like we were eating in a retirement home as everyone in the place is 60+ and white. They try to sell it as fine dining but then they pump loud elevator music in so everyone is shouting over each other. Then they turn the lights down so low that at almost every table I saw people using their phone light to read the bill. Food was cooked beautifully but I did not understand the Brussels sprout, cauliflower, whole peppers medley. Very strange mix... Every dessert is made with huckleberry so if you do not like huckleberry then you don't eat dessert I guess. great clam chowder though. A little overpriced but not bad until you read the bills fine print. This is one of the places that adds a surcharge now for the employees. A $56 steak and $36 risotto is already on the high end so the surcharge is off putting. Overall, I'll pass on this place. It has potential but they really can't make up their mind on if they want to be fine dining or a tap house. It just felt all over the place to me. read more

Had an amazing night tonite on the deck enjoying the lake, the weather and company. Our waitress was slammed but so courteous and fun! Ran a nice tab up and enjoyed ourselves! They are pressing Rhubarb highlights right now and am a big fan! I tried the Rhubarb slump however I was a little Disappointed. Their Rhubarb mix in this "slump" is amazing though there is definitely NOT enough of it...too much "cobbler" Style topping and ice cream. I would ask Mgnt to increase the allowance of Rhubarb mix because it's just that good and probably won't break the bank to add more:) Spanish coffee was delicious! read more

We went to dinner hoping it would be similar to the old Emory's. Always loved this place for the nice view and selective dinner menu. We had just been to Anthony's at the harbor a week prior and they were not good either. I was hoping the menu would be different. We were hugely disappointed with Emory's. The fish and chips tasted like something out of the freezer very wet and flavorless. The pizza was crumbly and tasteless. Spinach salad was fresh but had stale hard bacon from a bag taste. We came at 6 pm on a Saturday night thinking it would be busy, they were very slow which is a clear sign it's not doing so well. Very disappointing and won't be going back. read more

WOW, What a nice surprise, we accidentally found this place and had a wonderful dinner on the deck overlooking the lake in the Sunset. The service is excellent. We started with the clams which were the best clams we've ever had along with the hot rolls and garlic d sauce. Also had the northwest salad which is a salad with shrimp and crab that was fantastic and very large portions in the bistro steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus all prepared perfectly and served along the water's edge. read more

Well a year has went by and I went to dinner at Emory's, not my choice and my wife would not let me say anything to our friends. - Service was Sloooow - I almost ran to the store for drinks. - Appetizers were greasy and again served with the entre. -I wanted to order Pizza but wife would not let me. :) I was going to have pizza hut deliver LOL -Again the wine was the star of the show. Nothing changed in a year. Good News - our friends had the same opinion. Our turn in a couple weeks, we will not be going back. I have to wonder about the over the top reviews, they seem to come in bunches after bad reviews. People that I do know only go to Emory's for the pizza not for a nice sit down dinner. read more

Well everyone has an off night and tonight was Emorys turn to be sub par. I can say that because if you have read any other reviews I've given Emorys they set the bar for quality pretty high. Tonight though, my medium rib eye didn't have a trace of pink and was somewhere between medium well and well. The artichoke dip appetizer which usually comes with a nice soft bread had been replaced with a very unappealing, thin and crunchy pizza crust and the seared duck breast while tasty surprised the wife by how small the serving was. Contrasted by a very generous side serving of rice made it appear to be a rice dish with just a side of meat and not duck with rice on the side. The chicken penne was everything we expected. So not a 10 tonight but still recommend them, see my reviews from previous visits for their normal ratings. read more

Visited on 12/7/24. One star because the food was surprisingly poor. The seafood risotto had undercooked rice, very overcooked little lumps of various seafood, and wasn't seasoned, lacking salt. My husband's shrimp louie had the same overcooked shrimp and an avocado that wasn't ripe and was hard. The clam chowder was salty, cold and as for that one piece of clam I found in my soup, I was not sure if it was actually a clam or a piece of rubber that had broken off from something in the kitchen. The Caesar Salad should not have been called a Caesar Salad but rather "The Salad That Time forgot."The dressing was not worth even calling dressing. The dry Martini was neither dry nor even close to what a Martini should be. It was pretty much something someone who may have read about a martini once in passing while thumbing through books at Half Price Books would think a martini is. The service was pretty underwhelming or the four tables our server had were overwhelming, not sure which as we did not see the server very often ourselves. I will say it was nice of her to notice that I barely touched the chowder and she did take it off the bill. But, even that was an ordeal because apparently in order to void an item, one needs manager approval. Of course, one would think that if a manager has been made aware of an issue with an item that results in reversing the charge on the check, said manager would come by the table to at least offer condolences or maybe to see if we are crackpots. Yeah but not so much. The location and ambiance are all good and that but Anthony's Restaurants are where good restaurants go to die. Too bad, Emory's was great. Now, it is Anthony's and it is everything one would expect from Anthony's, overpriced and underwhelming with just a hint of bad service. read more

We dine at Emory's on Silver Lake, driving from east of Vancouver BC approximately 6 times a year. The fish is always fresh (from the Anthony's supply) and prepared wonderfully. The staff is warm and skilled, the room is enjoyable. To advance to 5 stars, I wish Emory's would offer the flatbread that is served at Anthony's Hearthfire on Bellingham Bay -- where we dine about 10 times annually... which merits 5 stars. read more

We just ate dinner there. We enjoyed our meal and drinks. It did seem to take longer than usual to get our drink order, but they were delicious. I had a strawberry mojito- a specialty starting today (June 21). We started with the calamari. It was light and crispy. I had the seafood risotto without spinach. It was delicious. It had a bit of seafood, but there was only one scallop. I wish the shrimp had the tail/shell removed; I didn't like putting my fingers into the risotto/shrimp to get the shell off. The halibut, pasta were delicious and cooked well. The seasonal salmon was okay (according to the eater). It was copper river sockeye, which tends to be leaner than king, so not as tasty. I took half of the risotto home- it was a huge portion! We ordered a creme brûlée and strawberry shortcakes to go. I'm not sure how good they are because we're still full from dinner. My only complaint on service has to do with the bread plate. I was asked if I wanted a new plate after eating the calamari, said yes, a new plate was given. About 2 minutes later, dinner arrived, and everyone's bread plate was removed as well as that yummy olive oil dip! I'm glad I asked for my plate back, but later, I'd wished the oil was still there since we didn't have any butter either. Only last thing, it would be nice if the bread was warmed slightly. Eating a cool roll isn't very pleasant. Would I return? Absolutely based on this meal and service. read more

We came here for the $50 unlimited feast on Dungeness crab. The quality was good. They provided crab crackers and a little fork. Most of the crab claws were pre-cracked. My family and I used to live in Washington. This would be one of our go-to restaurants for birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Food is fantastic, and the staff is friendly. We found Emory's to be a bit of a mix. Nice setting on a small lake. Sort of a NW lodge feel. The menu is good-sized Our server Shalynn, was warm, prompt and professional. The hit/miss was the drinks and the food. The Coco Rocco cocktail had no discernible alcohol in it. It tasted mostly of seltzer. Beet salad was well prepared with good flavor and the rockfish was pretty good. The Dungeness Chicken dish had issues. Chicken was good and the crab on the top was OK, but the snap peas on the side were left with the stems on and mixed in so you ended up with an unchewable mass in your mouth unless you went through and cut all of the stems off the peas. The kitchen should take the stems off prior to plating the vegetables. For the price, the food and drinks should have been better. read more

Very expensive and the food is not as good as it used to be. The main reason for my review today is because of how my husband was treated as he tried to wheel my infant out of the restaurant in his stroller. The area behind the bar is family friendly but has absolutely no walkway. People can barely walk in between the tables there, much less a stroller. I'm guessing the area is probably against fire code as well. In order to get the stroller and my baby out of the restaurant my husband rolled through the bar area and was immediately stopped by a staff member letting him know he wasn't allowed to be there with the baby. Well, duh! He wasn't planning on having a seat and ordering a drink, there was no safe way to exist the building except for walking through the bar Our server was great but they really need to work on either making walkways that align with the cities fire code, or having the staff be less rude about wheeling the stroller out of the restaurant. read more

I was really hesitant to dine here because of the low reviews recently. However we had a great experience. I booked online through OpenTable for a Wed night dinner with my mom and sister who were visiting. We were seated right away outside on the deck. Our server was very nice and attentive. We ordered calamari, crab dip, chicken penne, clam chowder, spinach salad and Caesar salad. The view is beautiful and the food was good. I only had the appetizers but everyone else said the food was delicious. I wish the crab dip came with chips instead of the flatbread though. My parents wanted to go to Emory's to celebrate their 55th anniversary. I called ahead to give the staff a heads up that my Dad struggles with tinnitus and Alzheimer's and would appreciate a space without much distraction. We were originally pleased when they allowed us to sit in a quieter part of the restaurant. It was an early reservation (4pm) so not a lot of competition for seating. We received our food and shortly after were told there was a larger party coming in to the room we were seated in and we would need to move (?really?) That was more than confusing for dad, going out when you have Alzheimer's is hard enough - but having to move everything from our table including plates, food, silverware, drinks & the gifts they opened to a different and significantly louder location was REALLY unfortunate. Now for the food: I was shocked at the quality of what we were served, all three dinners literally looked like Swanson TV dinners and tasted the same. I'm positive the veg consisted of a bag of frozen mixed veggies that had been heated in the microwave and tossed on the plate. Absolutely disappointing in every way but the view. read more

The food was good, we had the asian sea bass with mango sauce, it really tasted good, beef sliders were tasty, the chicken pizza was ok but not something i would order again.
