I was not a fan overall. The buffet was well stocked but anything I tried other than the soups was cold to lukewarm. If you like seafood there was plenty to pick from unfortunately i do not care much for seafood. My husband does and he found some choices he thought were tasty The service was spot on the restroom were clean as well as the restaurant. Might need some cosmetic updates but overall it was fine. Actually really enjoyed this little buffet. Went at around 3:39 on a. Sunday and it was fairly busy, all food was hot, highly recommend the fried chicken with the peanut sauce, it was a stand out! Otherwise pretty standard Chinese buffet foods, general two, black pepper chicken, coconut shrimp, potatoes, lo mein, rice, donuts and much more. Empire Buffet was a dandy Asian Hibachi/Buffet we found in Crescent Springs. It was an absolutely gorgeous restaurant with a great water display with fish at the front of the restaurant. There was a gigantic assortment of options ranging from both Asian favourites to some American options. Their Hibachi part was not operational during our trip which was a little sad but not a huge deal. I stuck with the Asian cuisine including getting some delicious General Tso's Chicken, Crab Rangoon, and pepper beef just to name a few things. This was probably my second favourite Asian Buffet I've found in the Cincinnati Tristate area thus far with only Twin Dragon in Westchester topping it for me. The service was also pretty good and the Ambiance was really relaxing!! The lights were just right and we sat next to an amazing beveled looking painting thing! 100% Will be coming back! First the negative then the positive. Dirty. Table was wiped off but the floor is all carpet that is pretty yucky. The general cleanliness of the buffet is not terrible but I would not say great. They have a great variety of items to offer but general quality was lacking even for a buffet. Bathrooms need cleaned. The size of the facility is nice & good for large groups. The price is fair. Arrived at 7:00PM - May 23, 2024 Daughter's 24th Birthday We arrived to the restaurant to a pretty empty place, they had only about 20 people in the whole place. That should have automatically triggered the "ALERT" that the food would not be fresh. But we had hopes!!! After sitting down the server asked what we wanted to drink. We told her that the order was off by 1 Mountain Dew, (She brought a Pepsi instead). Mistakes happen, and were mentioned, but never resolved! The first trip to the food resulted in everyone's choices ( and mostly different choices) and the food was not even warm, cold is a better description! The second trip to the food yielded the same results, even with different choices! By the third trip in the first 30 minutes at the Empire Buffet there were about double the amount of people there and they finished getting the cold food, so freshly made started slowly appearing. This time around the NEWly brought food was nice and a little better than warm. I had the coconut shrimp, which the 3rd time was a charm. It was good! Same with some of the other fresh items. The food overall was not good, even after the fresh came out! The server made 3 trips to the table 1 refill and 2 for picking up the used plates. She wasn't real friendly, or engaged in making you feel like she even wanted to be there let alone to be serving you! The floors are gross looking to say the least! No carpet cleaning has happened there for a decade from the look of it. The overall cleanliness was not very good, but the bar was kept pretty wiped off. They have closed the Hibachi section, and the sushi was skimpy at best as the selection goes. The pricing was $13 per person and $3 (appx) per Pepsi product. Visiting from out-of-town, we had dinner here on a Thursday evening at the recommendation of relatives. I can sum it up it one word.....nasty! The carpets were filthy, and the restroom obviously hadn't been cleaned in awhile. Food was served on styrofoam plates with plastic utensils. The "hot" food I had was lukewarm at best, and the selection wasn't that impressive. To their credit...and the only reason I gave them a second star... the staff was friendly, and they had Korean kimchi which appeared to be made in-house that was tasty and extra spicy. It was a coin toss for me between 2 buffets and the coin toss decided on Empire Buffet. Many selections to pick from. Most were good except for the fried chicken items (sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, general tso chicken) as they all seemed to have a fishy after taste. I do not eat seafood at all so it was very noticeable. Not even sure how this happens. Service was good otherwise. Not sure how I feel about future visits as the fishy aftertaste was a huge turn off. Let me preface this by saying I have never written a review I have eaten at this establishment since I was about 12. This restaurant was always my favorite chinese buffet. I havnt eaten here in several years as we moved away today I decided I would treat my family to the Chinese buffet I have told them about for many years. From the very beginning it was a disappointment. When we first walked in it smelled like overcooked seafood. There was very little variety with 70 percent of the food on the buffet being fish related. Most chicken and beef options were empty and they weren't refilled until it was close to time we received the bill what chicken options they had were overcooked and dry everything was dry in fact even the noodles. We couldn't eat the soup because there was no spoons I had to ask an employee. My son needed to use the bathroom and needless to say I've seen cleaner bathrooms at truck stops. the whole experience was foul and it sickened me to pay the bill 97.00 for three adults and four children under ten. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I will never spend my money here ever again. Frankly you couldn't pay me to eat here again. read more

However, since my body does not burn calories as it once did, buffets are no longer my thing. I was asked by new wife and yelper Amy to at least give Empire Buffet a chance as we both wanted Chinese food. I will say I thought the food here was better than most buffets and choices just seemed to be more fresh and a better quality. We also had a really nice waitress. Gave this place a try again, but likely never coming back. It's one of the few Chinese buffets in the area so I wanted to give it a try again, the last time I ate here I was amazed the floors were so dirty (Even though that visit was 30min after opening time!). To no surprise, it was the same way a year later! The high chair they gave us had no straps/buckle to strap our child in. Seeing as it was busy, there was no other high chairs available. Came on Wednesday January 1. Because they consider it a holiday they charged over what the normal prices are even for a weekend. This would not be so bad if they had said something before the bill arrived and updated their price sign. And unlike weekends when it does costs a little more they still did not have the extras like crab legs. Many items looked like they had been sitting out for hours. We eat here about once a week. They have ups and downs being a buffet and open longer hours so the best times to visit are before 1pm and after 4pm and before 7pm. Food is freshest in those hours. They have a salad bar and a ton of fruit selections as well if you don't want all the heavy Chinese. The place is very clean and the food is always full. The servers are very attentive and take your plates away and refill your drinks constantly. I've had better Chinese but it is a buffet so that's kinda to be expected. One of the better Chinese buffets in Northern Kentucky. Plenty to choose from during the lunch hours and taste and temperature have always been good. Sushi is available, but its buffet sushi - so don't expect much. Their crab rangoon is one of the best items on the buffet. The service is good. I went there with a group of 15. I ate hibachi carried out from here for the very first time and thought it tasted great. Empire has been my husband's go-to for the buffet and hibachi for years. The hibachi allows you to choose your meat (shrimp, chicken, and/or beef), type of rice (fried, white or brown), and various fresh veggies. It's nice to be able to pay by the pound and control your costs. My chicken, beef, fried rice with carrots and mushrooms had lots of flavor and sauce (Mongolian.) You can also choose Teriyaki sauce style. I've also done a walk through of the buffet with my husband and besides Asian favorites, there's a whole American section and dessert area.
