The trough has made some improvements and it shows. We met our son for a quick lunch and he suggested Golden Corral. We accepted, I mean how bad can it be? The food was actually kind of tasty. Was it great, no. But better than expected Service was above average, friendly and effective. Alas, the place still struggles with keeping it clean. Of course, the biggest culprits were our fellow diners. It's hard to keep up with the folks who don't seem to care about any mess they make. Unfortunately, the worst situation was the bathroom. The women's room was so foul my wife didn't use the facility and held it rather than ruin her otherwise okay lunch. I'm a glutton for punishment. I do enjoy a buffet for the assortment of choices. With the COVID epidemic we lost many of these type of services. Tonight I stopped for dinner here at the local corral. Not many cars in the lot and plenty of open tables however many items needing stocking and the stations needed a severe wipe down. Disgustingly dirty stations and floors Whoever was managing tonight I'd like to know their schedule so I can avoid this establishment when they're in charge. It had been over 10 years since I had been to a Golden Corral Buffet so it was high time that came back. They specialize in homestyle type of cooking. There were some good things and some not so good things that I tried off of their bar. They have a very good salad bar of which I made my "unsalad" (toppings with no lettuce). They have an excellent ranch dressing. I tried a hot dog and a piece of pizza both of which I found to be subpar. However their bbq chicken and shrimp were both excellent and there were some pretty decent sides including but not limited to stuffing and hashbrown casserole. They also have a very good dessert bar featuring many toppings for ice cream. Unfortunately I do have to say our service wasn't the greatest as our drink cups remained empty for most of the meal. Like I said some good and some bad, I do want to come back and try some stuff that I didn't try on this occasion. read more

Came here with a big church group over the labor day weekend. It wasn't any different than what we have in California, but the servers were funny. They made the experience here more enjoyable. They kept the place pretty clean for the most part as well. The one thing that I'd definitely highlight is that their steak is already prepared with sauce. This made the taste much better than usual and I don't even need to try adding steak sauce to it. Thanks for making the experience a fun one! read more

I came to this location because a friend of mine is a regular here. She told me it was good. My WHOLE reason for coming here on a Sunday morning was to get my eggs cooked my way on the buffet. I've been telling people how good your buffet is. I want to start with the cashier was very friendly she even complimented me on my hair. My server Rae Ann I believe service was great as well. She even told us about how we could get eggs our way. The employee who was at the bar making eggs customer service with me was very dissatisfying. I forgot my receipt but I have no problem telling you what time I came. Our visit was on 12-22 -24. I approached the egg station and said hello to her. No response. She has just finished someone's eggs and they came back up to get them. Then the employee walked away while I was still standing there and never said anything back to me. I know she saw me with a red shirt on. I never moved or walked away. That part really made me decide I will NOT be returning. It seemed as though they were trying to stretch the food on the bar. The grits and brown gravy were runny. Not sure how cheese grits get runny except too much water. The orange juice tasted like an orange drink. Way too much water added to it. Other than the one employee the service was good and I was very happy to see green olives on the salad bar. Most of the locations had the black olives after Covid, My salad was so good. Today I saw a little girl just pick up the spoon holders and move all the spoons around and management said nothing. Best part of our experience here is Brian our server. Walked in about 7:30 pm with 12 in our party. There was a floor manager that was trying to find us a table. This manager seemed so overwhelmed we waited but he could not find us two tables. I walked over to Brian's station and he was cleaning two tables of 6 each. I ask him if we could take the tables and he said yes. We got the best service from him! We have eaten here many times over several years, usually after church (brunch), & have taken visiting guests with us too. We have never been disappointed. Good variety, clean bar, mostly traditional American cuisine with some Asian & Mexican options. However, the restrooms are not so great. read more

First time trying this GC and the steak and spare ribs had so much fat on them, they were not worth eating. Other than that though, I was pleased by the food. It was tasty and not disappointing. It was very busy and the servers were working crazy hard, our server JACOB was amazing and his attitude was spot on perfect for the chaos of customers, we tipped him well, he deserved it. This place has reopened as of this weekend. Sunday Dinner hour- You might be better off waiting until the rush dies down. It is obvious they were not prepared for the high demand. The servers are obviously overworked. Dirty dishes piled up on tables and drinks slow in being refilled. I don't blame the servers as they are doing the best they can. It looks like a lot of the previous staff has returned :-) There are some menu changes with less selections. The salad bowls however are a nice improvement. Never did like putting salads on a plate. The food is what it is! Some of it is really good and others needs some help. How ever this is based on what they are doing now! First off the servers in this location are on point! Nothing like going to a buffet, that everyone can chose from. Decided to have Sunday Brunch with some friends Steve, john , Tom and Toey my girlfriend. For a typical buffet, I do like coming here. You can't beat the price $12 all you can eat. Onto the lunch buffet. Service from our waitress was outstanding. She was very intentative and got our drinks fast. So I usually get the fried chicken thighs 4-5 pieces and shredded into my spinach salad with 2 mixed salad dressing Italian and blue cheese. I make my salad a goulash everything in it. Onto steak. Went there for my birthday dinner. It was a Friday and you were on your own. Waitress was slow but pleasant. I went up to get medium cooked steak and had to wait until I could get his attention. What I got was well done dry steak. Then I tried hand carved Turkey and it was dry. Well at least the fried chicken was juicy. Best is to not wear contacts or glasses (if you do) or borrow someone else's (if you don't) so you can't see the area behind the steam tables.....GROSS! Very dirty and equipment looks to be in rough shape. The original concept was to make it look like a marketplace showcasing fresh produce and freshly prepared good but now you see stacked up equipment and bins of raw chicken and beef. Nothing appetizing about that. I can only imagine what the kitchen (area you can't see) looks like. I have updated it to three stars after the remodel. I could not be any more disappointed. Brought in 6 adults for dinner... There was literally nothing to select from. I was charged 82.00 and there was NEVER any steak...The food pans were cross contaminated with drippings from other pans, the three Spanish 'cooks' were in the back cutting up and not paying any attention to the front. What was Robert the manager doing? He was 'BUSY' getting drinks and hanging out by the cashier...He did not one time come out on the line. Our waitress said they were busy for father's day so everyone was tired!!!! People were complaining that there was no pizza. No steak. No lasagna and no enchiladas. Ice ceam machine out of order? No they just put a dinning table in front of it to keep children away from it, according to my waitress. Well unless your very tall adults can't get to it either. Thats the attitude of staff and management of the Florence Ky Location. So Im guessing Thats why some dishes Look like they have been sitting at the food bar all day. Why change them out when questionably edible if not many people eat it anyway. If I could give this place a negative number, I would. They should have honestly paid me and my group to eat here, because everyone we encountered, especially the manager, was absolutely horrendous. The only enjoyable part of the experience was Shannon, our waitress. She was so amazing and was very kind to us, and we even told her that. When we walked into the establishment, the lady who filled our drinks was absolutely rude and made nasty facial expressions after telling her our drink choices. After receiving my drink, it was not filled all the way, leaving at least three finger-wide gap from the rim of my cup. When we were getting ready to sit, there was no way to tell if we sat ourselves or wait to be seated. We do not come here often, so we simply did not know. After we had one of our party members find a seat, the manager came to us and was asking us if we needed a seat. After we told her we had someone find a seat, she said this verbatim "I have been kicking people out of their tables for doing this", even after asking if doing that was alright and said manager said "yeah, it's fine". She made that smart remark but after realizing that we were not supposed to seat ourselves, we were already realizing this was not a good environment. We had found a seat thanks to the lovely manager and then we began to get our food. When we were getting our plates, it was not any better. There were pieces of leftover food stuck to them, they were full of water, and people have been placing plates everywhere, leaving them even more disgusting than before. The food was not any better. It was the most putrid shit I've ever put in my mouth, and I'd rather eat my cats diarrhea than there again. I had to add seasonings to my corn because it was so bad. But Shannon was the only person in there that made this experience a bit better. To put everything in a better spot, it was $80 for four people, which is what we had in our party.
