My boss has leased cars from White Plains GMC in the past, he has a lease to return tomorrow and contacted them to ask to return it there as he has since moved to the area. The original lease was in Brooklyn. They refused to help him and told him they cannot do a client a favor so he doesn't have to drive to Brooklyn for the return. What a horrible service experience. Don't even bother going here if you want a fair deal! We called and they confirmed the car was there, we had been looking at this car on the internet for the past week. So we went, intent on buying this car, red 2010 Buick Lacrosse with 15,000 miles on it, price is $17,990, very nice car. Just came back from this dealer about 3 hours ago because it turned out to be a major waste of time. The salesperson Willie, was very professional and polite, pleasant to talk to but the manager, Victor walked right by us when we walked in, that was the first sign. I thought he was a salesperson that was in the middle of a transaction and in a rush to close on his deal, that's how fast he passed us by! When he came back towards the front desk he finally asked if he could help us but with barely a friendly tone in his voice. That's when he directed us towards Wille. We were treated nicely by Wiilie, offered coffee, hot chocolate, bagels, etc. He got the car ready for a test drive, took our information, all very quickly. He let my husband and I test drive it by ourselves which was awesome because we had the privacy we needed to talk about the car. We like everything about it except... on our way back from the test drive, after only 20 minutes, the steering wheel started locking a bit and then we heard a strange noise whenever we turned the steering wheel side to side. You could clearly hear the loud noise from within the car and outside. Bad sign, and an indication that something is obviously very wrong with the vehicle. Being 5 years old already there is no warranty but with a problem like this who knows how much repairs can cost. Willie guaranteed that their service department would fix whatever was wrong before we left with the vehicle. He said they had just gotten the car and had not had the chance to really have it serviced, but I had been looking at the car for the past week, what gives? What if we purchased the car after having it "fixed" by their service department and several days later the problem is back? He could not guarantee that we could get warranty included with the price of the car. That's where Victor came into the picture again, not only could he not negotiate a slightly better price for the car, which we didn't mind, but he must have been insulted that we even asked for warranty. Willie went to ask him about the price and warranty and Victor came towards us and without even talking about it further he said " THIS IS NOT THE CAR FOR YOU", and he repeated that phrase while saying 'LOOK AROUND FOR ANOTHER CAR BECAUSE THIS IS NOT THE CAR FOR YOU". **Okay, if you insist Victor, say no more, we don't want to do business with a rude, dishonest and unrelenting scrooge anyway. You make for a terrible manager if you are not willing to negotiate at all. Maybe that's why the car is still sitting there right now. Let some other sucker take a damaged car and pay for the warranty out of their own pocket but it won't be me, thanks for nothing. I will be more than happy to buy another car with a lot more miles and pay for a warranty if i know the car is NOT damaged on first sight. Money well spent if I can go to a dealer and deal with someone that treats me like a customer and not like a nobody. read more

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! When we signed onto our lease we bought tire insurance bec it was recommended by the dealer. We get a flat and bring the car in for repair/replace -- and they tell us although our lease was for 39 months our tire insurance was for 36 months--which was NOT conveyed to us during the initial purchase. So we dispute this bec it was not the first time we came in for that tire. We asked them to look it up etc. They said it didn't matter bec the tires now had wear and tear. Additionally said that we should have brought the car in to them every time for oil changes. The tires should have been rotated and it was our fault. I said I just received email notification 2 weeks ago that they needed to be rotated. They said you can only REALLY tell when tires need rotation by looking at them. So in short, we did take the car in several times for the same tire --which they'd told us was fine that ultimately wasn't. Then we got a flat. Then they said we weren't covered. Then they said they would cover it. Then they said no bec it had wear and tear. It was just to complete run around over a tire. Plus, we were there for 4 hours-- when they said 2. Additionally they said that we shouldn't hold the service dept responsible for the confusion. WE TOOK THE CAR IN AT LEAST 2 TIMES FOR THE SAME TIRE--AND WAS TOLD IT WAS FINE. Then our receipt comes and you also get a copy via email--the email receipt was $100 less than she charged me. She said "she was looking for discounts and realized they made a mistake." I mean it is computerized -- why tell me "she's looking for discounts" and charge $100 more instead of saying --we made an error? We had every intention of coming back and leasing or buying a newer Buick in 3 months from White Plains Buick. So now they lost a customer for the next 3 years and well over $36K over a $177 tire. We will lease or purchase a new Buick Enclave--which I love--from another dealership. read more

Service department seems dishonest. Was told by one service manager that my service was not covered by a special warranty and then two weeks later a different manager said it was covered. Additionally other problems were not resolved as it appeared one fix caused another problem to appear a week later. read more

Brought my 2009 Saturn Aura in because check engine light kept coming on. They did a diagnostic and said they needed to order parts and to come back on Monday. I came back on Monday waited from around 9 am to after 12 pm. Well when I got the car back after 2 minutes of driving the check engine light came right back on and the car was doing the braking on its own and the gas gage was going up and down again. Things I told them and they claimed they ordered parts for. Well I called them back and they were like we can see if we can squeeze you in and they were so rude when I got there and he basically was like who told you to come in because you need an appointment even though I had an appointment before and they did nothing. I honestly don't think they ordered parts at all. Well to make a long story short I will never buy an American car again and will never buy any car from White Plains Buick GMC ever again. They don't know how to deal with customers. read more

I didn't even want to give one star. Took car in with one issue, got it Home and all of a sudden something else was wrong. I took it back for service and they didn't even give me the time of day just said it was not their fault. The manager was not accommodating at all. I explained that this was our main family car that transports my two small children and that I couldnt just leave it there for days since they weren't even willing to look at it right then and there. They could have offered me a courtesy car in the meantime but nothing!! What a waste of my time and what a shame - i just wish they weren't the only GMC dealer in the area. I ended up taking our Acadia to Rye Ford and Ty there was so helpful and they were more than accommodating there even giving me a courtesy car while they had it in the shop. After all was said and done I ended up leasing a brand new Explorer and getting rid of the Acadia. read more

To begin, the dealer called to solicit a buyback on my lease. I asked to speak with the manager whom I know, they advised me he was busy on any day I requested an appointment. So I settled to speak with a different person for the vehicle inspection. Upon my arrival I was advised the associate I asked for hasn't worked there in months and they lied to me to get me into the dealership. Then, During negotiations I felt that the management team was condescending and deceptive and I do not want to waste more time then to say unprofessional is the term I will use when asked about their sales practices. I agreed to a specific amount out of pocket at delivery to cover taxes and DMV as well as 1st payment the new lease. I was repeatedly told yes to my offer and presented a sales agreement subject only to bank approval. Terms were drawn up on a Thursday, I then agreed to pick the vehicle up the following Monday, scheduled delivery was 3PM. Truck and paperwork were not ready. At 5PM sales associate called to say the truck was ready. When I arrived the paperwork was still not ready. After an additional wait I was introduced to the Finance Manager. At that point I was hit with the tax cost of the lease as well as a bank acquisition fee and DMV costs IN ADDITION to the amount I agreed to supply at delivery. Being in finance I do not have any uncertainty in the details of what I agreed to previously. When I explained in detail to the finance manager that was not the terms I agreed to and wasn't going to accept the vehicle. In an attempt to try to salvage the deal, the Finance Manager offered wheel and paint protection to offset the fact that the management team did not structure the deal correctly as requested. The sales management team could have been upfront and told me they could not do the deal but being new and over zealous they mislead me. Ultimately I decided to take the truck and the additional warranties offered since I needed to exchange the vehicle for a new lease later this year. BUT my delivery issues did not end there. At delivery inspection, the truck did not have the antenna installed. Which they had to scramble to locate and install. I then started the truck for my initial Onstar call, IT WAS EMPTY OF FUEL. The sales person then had halt delivery and to drive me in my partially delivered truck to get a tank of gas. In addition on my first day of ownership, I had to fill the EMPTY windshield washer reservoir. Lucky the factory puts oil in it or the dealership would have sent me home without that as well. BOTTOM LINE, THIS WAS A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WHICH MIGHT VERY WELL BE THE LAST GM PURCHASE I MAKE. I HAVE NO INTEREST, I REPEAT NO INTEREST IN SPEAKING WITH THE DEALERSHIP. DO NOT HAVE THEM CALL ME. This pertains only to the sales department. I wont use any real names but my experience was so unbelievable that I needed to share it. I went into this dealership at the end of November to lease an suv. The salesman was very nice and actually quoted me a fair price. Over the next week, I called several times because I wanted to buy the vehicle prior to the end of November. Radio silence. Perhaps the first time in the history of car sales that the customer had to seek out a salesman and not the other way around. Fast forward to December. Obviously, the November price was gone as the, "Incentives had changed." In the meantime, I shopped around at other dealerships and was offered the original price with 15 k miles at a rival dealer. Despite the miscommunication at White Plains, I called to give them a chance at my business. When I informed them of the new offer, the salesman got upset and said, "If you can take delivery of that car for that price, I suggest you take it." Well, I did, but first I foolishly called White Plains, asked for another salesman and yet again gave them a chance at my business. This salesman told me that my original salesman quoted me a price on the wrong trim, that there were no more cars with the exact package I wanted, and that the suv with the trim he had in stock would cost at minimum, $40 more per month. Not sure if any of this was true or not but the dealership in the Bronx seemed to have plenty of inventory. Long story short, I leased the car I wanted in the Bronx with 15k miles and way more stuff for $10 more per month than the first price quoted by White Plains. I fully realize that there is a certain amount of gamesmanship in sales and I don't fault anyone for trying to make money but if this dealership had demonstrated even a minimal level of integrity I would have gladly given them my business, which as a customer in his early thirties, may have lasted the next thirty years. The service here was the best that I have ever had when purchasing or leasing a car! The staff was extremely polite and courteous. We have four young kids and they helped make sure that the process was very smooth, making it very convenient for our family. From start to finish I only have positive things to say. Our sales man Robert was honest, sincere and listened to everything that we wanted in a car. He then delivered the exact vehicle we wanted. The price was above and beyond better then what other dealerships had offered and the monthly price that he quoted was the final price. A few days after picking up my 2011 Yukon Denali from a $2,000 repair that was surprising given that the car is only 5 years old, both brake lights and the left front headlight were out. Thus, I was pulled over and given a ticket. When I called the dealer to ask how this could happen after they just performed a 'multi-point inspection,' all I got was an argument from Josh, the service manager, who told me that the lights probably went out after the car left the shop. So, I took the car to my local repair shop, which is exactly where I will keep taking it from now on. They found that all the bulbs were out and changed them for me on the spot. I will not use the White Plains dealership for service ever again. read more

Not sure what's going on here. They are spending a lot of money renovating and then charge me for tire rotation and since I marked my tires saw that they didn't actually rotate the tires. Also, some of the sales people have left. Not a good sign. read more
