I been going to this place for almost a year and the service has been declining. Nothing seems to be clean, they use the same tools and acetone to soak off on every customer, they do not change it. Also, they constantly hound you to get a pedicure when you only want your nails done. Lastly, what made me finally leave, was them trumping up charges to make me pay more. I went in for my usual 2 week fill in and switched from powder to acrylic, using my own nails and not tips, and was charged $50. I normally pay $42 for the past 8 months. I have done this before. First time going here, went for a gel pedicure. The guy at the door didn't tell the nail tech I wanted gel and she ended up doing regular. I told her I wanted gel not regular and she got irritated and didn't do a good job second time. Still continuing my journey to find the best nail spot. A friend recommended me this spot. The host was a bit abrupt when I walked in and didn't give my friend and I much time to pick a nail color. They kind of rush you into a seat. I was taken very quickly but picked a color I wasn't too satisfied with. I will say my nail tech was very nice and took her time doing my nails. I could tell she was paying attention to detail. Each side of my nail was covered with polish which is definitely a pet peeve when some side nail is showing. It was on $25 for a gel manicure. That's probably the least I have ever paid which is great. Another plus was they gave me and my friend a really nice ring and hair clip. My first visit I had my son with me and his aunt to help him. I go to angel nails in hempstead but my sons aunt begged me to go to bayshore to visit her and her new son and get my nails done as a birthday present. I drove 40mins to this place on high reviews from her. We get there and was ignored until we finally got someone's attention. I never write reviews, but I absolutely had to. I went there to get my gel manicure taken off. They brought me to the dirtiest table. Nail dust everywhere. After they filed my nails, with a dirty file, the owner wanted me to put my nails in a tub of dirty acetone that had clearly been used before on other clients. After I expressed I was uncomfortable with that, he said okay and got the foil and Cotten to wrap my nails in the acetone (which he should have automatically done). Someone else took over after, and once my nails were done soaking she scraped off my gel with another dirty tool. It's no wonder people get infections from here! Now I'm running home to go soak my nails and disinfect them because I'm so grossed out from this place. I don't know how ANYONE could go here. You couldn't pay me to come here again. read more

Ok seriously, I have to write a review about the owner of this salon. To be fair, there are some good technicians here, however, Peter (the owner) is a HOT mess. I have no idea how he's maintained the clientele he has. I've witnessed many technicians cringe as he addresses customers that are getting serviced. Here's why I'm giving him 1 star: He grabs customers (so far I've only seen this happen to females) almost immediately as they walk in through the doors. I don't want to hold your hand or be wrapped around your arms soon as I walk in, or ever for that matter. He "shoves" people as a form of affection, this man is pretty large. His pats are not comforting, they're actually pretty painful. He tried kissing a toddler that was wrapped around his mother's arms before she yelled at him. What on God's earth makes a middle aged man think it's ok to kiss a child that does not belong to him? He asks his customers (very loudly) how much they're planning to tip and then aggressively suggests they tip more. This man needs to take a class on good customer service or receive some type of intervention on the value of proper etiquette, common courtesy, good manners and personal boundaries. I'm honestly shocked he's never gotten charged by someone for his crazy antics. Every time I have an encounter with him I wonder why I keep going back. I recently decided to visit Empire Garden Nail Spa to check out their services as they just opened about 2 months ago. Upon entering the salon I was greeted by a familiar and friendly face, Peter, from Lin's Nail Salon where I normally go. Peter greeted us and as always made us feel welcomed. A pleasant surprise to see these owners opened up a second location. The place is huge, 5000 sq. ft. and decorated very nicely. They offer more services and have separate rooms for the additional services. Some of the added services are full body massages, hair care, facials, and waxing. You're offered complimentary coffee, tea, water or soda. After picking our colors my friend and I were seated for our pedicures. I was started on right away but my friend had to wait quite a while for the next available nail technician. Possibly a shortage of staff as it didn't appear that busy and there were plenty of empty chairs. On the positive side, because my chair wasn't needed, I was given the option to stay seated where I was so I could continue chatting with my friend. I was happy with the pedicure Jenny gave me, enjoyed my Green tea, and of course the massaging chairs. read more

Came across reviews on yelp for this place but there's no phone number! (I have posted a pic with the phone number) Walked in with no appointment for mani/pedi's and we were taken care of promptly. It is a very large salon located directly across from the south shore mall. There are a ton of colors to choose from, more than I have seen in other salons and there is a wall of pedicure stations that is impressive. I opted for the mani/pedi combo for $25! Great deal! They have several other packages that you can request as well. For me there were a couple of downsides... --The workers constantly speak in their own tongue throughout the process and over the very large salon --my pedicure seemed rushed and not very relaxing, at one point she stopped mid massage and walked away without explanation and returned several minutes later like nothing had changed Given the great price I may visit this salon again but hopefully have another employee for the mani/pedi read more

I have been going Empire Garden Spa for more than a year and they do a great job however I have had issues on couple of times where they charged me more than they should have and I called Peter out on it.(whew long sentence) Today, Thursday, I got there about 5:45pm and there was one lady getting a pedicure and one getting her nails done. While I was getting my nails done about 10 people came in most of them for pedicures. There were four employees . My nails were finished and I was sent to sit in the pedicure chair. People were waiting and I was waiting but great customer service would have served on a first come first serve basis. No not them. Peter told one of the ladies to take care of me next. On the way to me he told her to polish the toes of a lady with a baby, which was fine with me. The worker could not take care of the lady for whatever reason so this lady had to wait a while longer. You think that the worker would take care of me next. No! This worker started doing the pedicure of someone who had just sat in the chair. I paid for my nails and left at that point. Not going back there and will not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Went here for prom nails with my friend a few months ago. This is still angering me months later so I'm writing this to warn everyone. When I went, my friend got acrylic tips and I asked for acrylic tips as well and for a pedicure. My pedicure was supposed to cost $20. And the tips were supposed to cost $28, and I anticipated to pay $48 for all plus a tip. As I was getting my pedicure done, the girl next to me was getting a cucumber leg mask. The lady working on the girl next to me started putting the mask on my legs when I specified before that I just wanted a regular pedicure. I was not informed that the mask was $15 more! So, me thinking that I was still paying $20 for the pedicure, I obliged and let her do the leg mask. After my pedicure was done, my friend who was getting her acrylic tips was done. So she waited for me to get my tips done too. I asked for an ombré French acrylic tip set and the lady began her work on them. Like stated in the pamphlet, it was supposed to amount to $28. She put the pink color on and then said she didn't know how to do ombré French. The manager walked over and also told me we don't specialize in this request. I was baffled because why would they not inform me this before they began work on my nails. So the lady said she will try her best and do the ombré. She was very rough with the filing machine and made me bleed in multiple fingers. My friend was sitting next to me commenting on how long it was taking to do the nails. In the end, it took 1 hour and 45 minutes just for my hands alone, which is absolutely insane. She did not blend the ombré very well and they looked chunky, which is not the look I was going for, especiallly since these are my prom nails. She then told me I needed to pay $95!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so astonished by this, and even my friend gasped when she heard how much this lady is charging me. I approached the manager to see why I was being charged so much. He began explaining that the lady who did my nails charged $60 for the hands because it was a permanent French, which is not what I asked for. I had to argue with him to understand that she charged me for something I didn't ask for. He then embarrassed the lady and yelled at her in front of everyone in the salon. He gave me back $30 that I was overcharged and expressed an attitude as he did so, and I left. I was not refunded the $15 they scammed me for the leg mask I did not ask for. Never going here again. Wasted 2 and a half hours here for a result that looked cheaply done and was extremely pricey. I spent every last dollar here before I got my $30 back that I had to argue for. Worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon. Horrible service. DO NOT COME HERE because it will result in a bad experience and you will get ripped off like me. read more

She caught me off guard I didn't know how to respond at first bc NO ONE has ran after me into the parking lot asking about TIP. Now, after all the money I just dished out, it left my wallet pretty empty. And being honest, I didn't feel like dishing out anymore money just to make other people happy not to mention the work wasn't even that good. Let's be clear: TIPS aren't a necessity. I paid for my service ( see above) and if I refuse to tip I shouldn't be made uncomfortable by doing so. How selfish and greedy can you be?!?? I had been going to Empire Gardens for years for my nails because the location was convenient and the price was very reasonable. I had noticed in recent visits the quality of my nails would vary depending on who did them. Some technicians are very quick and good while others take over an hour for a fill in. The salon is very large with many manicure stations but less than half of them are staffed. Today's visit was my breaking point. I came in with my Mom for a fill in on a busy Saturday afternoon. Instead of being honest and telling me that they were busy and it would be a long wait, we were told "10 minutes." PS: My Mom went first and her nails were being polished and I still hadn't been called nearly 45 minutes later. Do not come here unless you have 2-3 hours to spend. I stormed out without my fill in. Very good nails but service is horrible. Getting my nails done they where very aggressive. When I gave the tip. I gave what money I had left. I understand it was 2$ but they said it wasn't enough and I had to pay it with card. When I got my nails painted the lady told me I should get light pink. I told her it wasn't my color but she said if I tried it and didn't like it I could get it changed after. After I told her I didn't like it and wanted it changed but said I'd be charged extra even though I didn't even want it in the first place. I had to tell the manager and get it changed but when I got it redone the guy used a lot of nail polish remover so now my nails won't even last long. I'm very upset and will most likely not return. I used to love coming here. My nail tech was my absolute favorite and always did my nails well. My problem here is the owner. He is very aggressive, too forward and made me feel uncomfortable the last time I was there. I went to tip my nail guy for my acrylic fill and the owner intercepted the money from my hands (weird, to begin with). Then he looks at how much I was giving my guy and says "More tip." Excuse me? I was still sitting down and he was hovering over me, pressuring me to give him more money (for transparency, I was tipping 18% based off of the cash I had in my wallet. When I asked for change, still flustered, he gaslit me and made me feel stupid for counting the change he gave me). Probably the most frustrating part of all of this is he likely doesn't care that he's lost my business nor that he made me uncomfortable. I'm not writing this review knowing he'll read it because I'm positive he won't. But I hope another shy person like me can avoid this confrontation in the future. It's very much the bottom line and all about the money. Had this not happened, I would have had no problem continuing to go. If you pay your workers properly, you wouldn't need to harass your customers for more tips, but what do I know? read more

I've gone here on and off for a few years and the customer service here has never been good. The man who runs it is overly touchy in a creepy uncle way and the staff is not typically personable. However, what kept me coming back was the consistency of the quality of their work being pretty good. This last experience I had was my last straw. I entered with my best friend we were both immediately taken for fill ins. In the middle of only starting to take off my nails a woman who has an appointment with my nail tech came in an hour early, he left me sitting in the acetone machine that warms up for nearly 15 minutes giving her the seat in the chair next to my best friend and after almost 20 minutes of sitting in hot bubbling acetone the owner did a piss poor job of removing my old set of acrylic nails and had me sitting in the drying station for close to 45 minutes. Dried acetone all over my hands along with dead powder nail remnants all of my jacked. My best friend finished as they insisted to have me go with her nail tech after an hour and fifteen minutes at this point and I wasn't going to make her wait 90 minutes for me. Absolutely surreal. I will never go again. My fingers hurt my nails are ruined and frail to the point that my thumb nail is half acrylic half exposed frail fragile sensitive nails. Just messed up. read more

I really wanted to like this place but it's impossible. Paid $35 for a gel manicure on a Thursday night which came out looking good. By Friday my thumb had chipped. I went back to get it fixed for no charge, but I did leave a tip. Saturday my other thumb chipped so I went to a different salon to get it fixed. By Monday 2 more nails had chipped. It hasn't even been a week and FOUR of my nails have chipped. When all is said and done although the manicure looked good, I will never come back. This gel manicure has cost me $45 so far with tips and nail repairs, and I do not think it will even last a week based on all the chips. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. read more
