A group of us went out for dinner the other night and we were told this place has the best pizza in town. Of course we know when we hear such claims we do keep it relative. Being from an area that has many awesome places for pizza I felt this was a bit of a challenge. Of course, I ordered the pizza with some of my favorite toppings, including mushrooms and red peppers. The only way I could get spinach was if it included feta which I got. Odd but that's fine. The pizza has that "empire" look to it because it wants to come off as being a true New York style pizza. It was pretty far from a New York style pizza, but give them credit for trying. I got very few vegetables. The amount of cheese put on the pie was OK. I recently found myself in the area running errands and was desperate for a late lunch. Empire has been on my list of places to try for a while so I decided to pop by! It definitely reminds me of the pizza restaurants I used to love as a kid with its modern sports bar arcade vibe complete with games and plenty of large TVs on the wall. It was in the afternoon between lunch and dinner so it was quiet and I decided to sit at the bar. I was absolutely starving so I decided to take advantage of the fact that they sell pizza by the slice, and I ordered a chicken parm sub and a slice of pepperoni. For my side I noticed they have premium tater tot's that you can upgrade so I got the garlic Romano tots and they were amazing! The pizza is greasy New York style with some definite flop so if that's the style you like you'll enjoy it. I thought it was great. My sandwich the chicken was a little over cooked and dry. I used some marinara to make it better. I think what I should have tried are their wings they looked fantastic. They have a pretty expansive menu as well as multiple locations and apparently they've been around since 2009 so they've been holding it down. Cute bar. One side has a game room. I didn't go in so not sure what games are available but there were a good amount of happy kiddos. It's a nice place to come sit at the bar and watch a game. We sat at a high top. Friendly staff. KJ was the bar tender and was waiting on tables. The kitchen was hustlin'. We order the saucy bbq chicken pizza with almost all the veggies we could add. Pizza was just ok. Wings were meaty and had good flavor. Several wing flavors to choose from. I got the honey hot. At least they offer pizza by the slice. They offer lunch specials from 11-3. Wings and a slice of pizza with soda is $11.50. 2 slices and soda was $7.50. Only slices are cheese, pepperoni, and slice of the day. Slice of the day on Sat & Sun are honey hot pepperoni which is pepperoni pizza with ricotta and drizzled honey. I liked their regular pepperoni better. The service was great. We had Jeremy as our waiter. He kept an eye on us, brought our additional sodas before we even asked, and had a pleasant attitude. Plenty of booths so that you don't have to sit in their uncomfortable chairs. Men's & Women's restrooms were very clean. There are multiple TVs rooms keep your attention. read more

Excellent for adult birthday party! Called a few weeks ahead to book the large party room for 35 guests. Empire helped us choose pizzas, wings and salads to serve buffet style, including dairy-free options. Access to their full bar and pool table was nice, too. Thanks, Empire! This is not a lasagna it is a tomato soup with cheese, no pasta at all, when called the manager, Jenny, said that that is the way they serve the lasagna and she assured that she saw them serve the lasagna and she packed it herself, she almost hanged up the phone to me, this is not the first time, previously we received a pizza without sauce. So, brand new place for our little Pineville, and while it was edible it was nothing outstanding, Staff was very friendly and responsive. We ordered the Queens which was tasted okay but so light on toppings - like 6-7 little shreds of fresh basil and so few teeny tiny tomatoes, little stats of garlic or olive oil. We also grabbed two classic cheese slices which actually were better than okay. Thin crust, bendable slice. We'll give it another try and might try the homemade meatballs next time! read more

I've ordered delivery from here a couple of times and enjoyed everything I've tried. I had the classic white pizza and added chicken, the cheesesteak, wings and Caesar salad. I like that they use tamper free bags for delivery. I wish all establishments did that. Looking forward to being able to dine-in in the near future. read more

It's been three days im still eating this massive fucking pizza. From an outward glance, you'd think it's Chuck e Cheeses cousin or something. There seems to be an arcade of sorts attached to the side. Mind you, i ordered pickup. The place must be popular cause they had a whole area dedicated to Togo. i was impressed by that usually restaurants have the tendency to mix it with the host stand to circumvent the costs but not here. I went there to order a Sicilian pizza that I have not had one in a while and wanted to test this place out. I also ordered a slice of pepperoni The service was excellent and I was able to quickly order my food. The time it took to get my pizza was the standard 20 minute wait time. When I got home, however, that is when I had to remove a star. First, the Sicilian pizza was cold. Not luke warm but actually cold. And the slice of pepperoni looked like it had been sitting out for about a day. This was the only regret I had about the pizza. The pizza was quite tasty though. If I was to order there again, I would have to check the temperature first before I take it home and most likely warm it up at home. read more

There are many great options in Charlotte for pizza. Unfortunately, Empire is not one of them and all the others were closed Monday night when I landed at CLT. (Bird, Geno's, Sal's) But I had an open mind and I just wanted something decent. That is what I got ... decent pizza. The crust lacked any structure and seemed like a store bought crust. The cheese and pepperoni were "fine", but nothing special. The sauce lacked any punch or brightness. I asked for the pizza crispy and it was barely light brown and floppy. The pizza just felt heavy in my hand and heavier in my stomach. The service was great. The young staff that took my order were both very positive, friendly and attentive. Definitely the best part of the visit. So if you just need something to keep you going, this may be an option. I ordered the small pizza, maybe a larger size has better ratios of ingredients and a thinner, less doughy crust. Good luck ... and I wish I could have written something else. read more

Sorry I can't agree with all these 5 star reviews. There were some upsides, like the ability to order different toppings on each half. And it was huge. But it was so totally bland I felt it was a waste of calories. Bland sauce. Bland toppings. Un-exceptonal crust. Perfect for a starving teenager. This was our first time visiting Empire Pizza. We ordered a small pepperoini pizza, mozzarella sticks, two diet pepsi drinks, a water and shared a cheese cake for desert. Our total came to $33. The wait staff were very attentive and friendly. The pizza was very good, very hot, and folded like a new york style "sbarro-esk" pizza. The mozzarella sticks were hot and we ordered both sauces, red and white, which doubled as a dip with our folded NY pizza. They had free wifi, password protected, that the waiter provided for us. The atmosphere was very comfortable. We sat at a table that was situated on a riser giving us a great view of the restaurant, sports TVs, and people watching vantage point. The TVs were muted and had poplular music playing at a comfortable sound level. We listened to one customer talking to his group of friends about every cheech and chong movie he had ever watched and how the movie sequels got progressively worse. I really wanted to chime in and participate in that discussion. After finishing our desert, we loitered, surfed the web on our phones, looked up the pizza place's web page and digested our food for about 30 minutes with no pressure to leave the premises. read more

Just tried the new location today. Staff was friendly and attentive - but not overly attentive. One of us did the turkey wrap with onion rings, very tasty. Another had a salad with piece of pizza. He liked the slice. I did build your own lunch pasta - spaghetti with bolognese and added veggies with side ceasar. Both salad and pasta were delicious. Will definitely be back. read more

Ordered a decent variety of food like the mozzarella sticks, fried pickles, slice of pizza, wings, and the caesar wrap, which was all very good! The service is where it lacked a little bit. Server took over 5 minutes to greet our table, refills were nowhere to be found, and she asked us if we needed boxes 3 times during our visit while we were still eating and when finally getting our refills put her hand on the top of our cups. Other staff was eating on the floor and had headphones in while serving/ greeting people. Friendly but not attentive at all. The fort mill location does a bit better with the service side of things but overall it was good! read more
