I moved to Houston from Jersey City, NJ which is right across the Hudson River from Manhattan five years ago and this brand new joint is as good as it gets. It has the flavors, looks, smells, and menu of home. I have been searching for a pizza joint that would remind me of pizzas like we do it back home and this is it! Abe, one of Empire Pizza's owners, calls me "Jersey" because of the amount of times I have frequented since their grand opening on January 2--which shows how attentive he as well as the staff has been. I want to say: one of the key things that has impressed me the most is not just the flavor and taste, but also the speed in which they deliver and prepare the food. The speed, too, reminds me of home. New York Minute style. I work right across from them in HEB and only have a 30 minute break and they sure do deliver. Unfortunately I didn't get to try the hot Cheetos pizza because you have to order 30 mins in advance (that's what i was told by a staff member) and once I was there I was ready to eat their yummy looking pizza so I skipped it. Came in after the lunch rush. Since this was my first time, the employees took time out and explained their menu to me, pointing out the pizzas available by the slice that were currently available. Took a slice of the Daytona chicken and the White pizza to go. LOVED the Daytona...great flavor, loved the spicy and sweet of the competing ingredients. The White pizza left a little to be desired. Not sure if it was because I ate the Daytona first, but the White seemed soggy and tasted very bland, almost chalk like. Despite that, will definitely be back to try more and will update as I go. read more

New to the area, and found this place on Yelp. I walked in and was greet by the worker wearing glasses super nice guy. I was glad they sell by the slice, I got 2 slices mushroom and margherita pizza. I'm not even try exaggerate that was the best margherita pizza I ever had in my life. The ingredients are so fresh, the crust was crispy and crunchy and melted in your mouth. Wow. Empire Pizza you impressed us. Came in and ordered 2 Medium Thin Crusts: Chicken Pesto and Supreme Pizza. The thin crust was amazing: super crispy, fresh, and seasoned well. I was in love with it. Chicken pesto was topped with a generous amount of grilled chicken with red onions and pesto sauce . Never been a fan of supreme pizza so I didn't try it. Seriously the best pizza we've had in a very long time. We ordered to-go tonight 4/9/2020 to help support a small business during this crisis and I'm so glad we did! I ordered their Gluten Free Pesto Pizza, my husband ordered their Meat Lovers, and our daughter ordered a personal sized Pepperoni and Cheese. We also ordered a side of their Empire Fries (I think that's what it's called.) During our dinner my daughter kept saying "oh my gosh this is sooo good, this is the best pizza I've ever eaten!" She's a very light eater and usually only eats about one slice but she went back for seconds! My husband absolutely loved his pizza and the fries, he had nothing but good things to say about them throughout his entire meal. For me, that Pesto Pizza was the BOMB. So much flavor!! We ordered the anti pasta salad and medium Sicilian meat lovers pizza. Loved the salad--very fresh. The dressing, though, was served in a little cup which made it hard to properly shake it up to blend the oil & vinegar. The pizza was very big for a medium so we took home quite a bit (which is a good thing). Very tasty, generous ingredients. The crust was perfectly done on the bottom and the taste was great. I wonder if the owners have ever considered offering honey to put on the table for the leftover edge crusts--sort of like dessert. (Our favorite pizza place in Colorado--Beau Jo's does this). We tried the pepperoni pinwheels, these were fresh, hot, and they used fresh (not dried) herbs which definitely elevated this appetizer. I had the antipasto salad, which was completely fantastic, again, fresh ingredients and beautiful presentation, and the margherita pizza. Just phenomenal. I passed this place many times as I did my shopping at a nearby grocery store. So a while back I ordered a delivery of a pizza with chicken alfredo I believe. It's been a while but I got that one because the menu description on your website said it was thick crust or something. But when the pizza arrived it was not as described. I called to inquire why and the gentleman, who was one of the owners I believe, told me that their regular customers knew what the menu description really meant. But that is the whole crux of the matter! New customers should not have to make "guesses" about what this or that "really means" and should be able to order with the confidence and assurance that what they want they will get. All I was offered for this obvious and blatant screwup was a free dessert! They guy didn't seem to care what my problem was or doing the right thing. It's a shame that places like this no longer give credence to the belief that customer service is much more than mere lip service to be doled out whenever the fancy strikes you. read more

This place was decorated interestingly with Houston and NY art spread out. They're pizza choices were awesome, many to choose from. My favorite was the sweet BBQ chicken pizza. Wow it was awesome. Just moved down here from NY and have been looking for good pizza the last 2 months. This place is hands down the best in Houston.

Overall not bad. Tried 3 slices which I feel are pretty standard when reviewing a pizza place. The cheese, the pepperoni, and the margherita. I am aware that pizza by the slice will never be as good as a fresh whole pizza but I wanted to just sample a few of their offerings so I went by the slice. When you enter you're greeted pretty promptly and the place is clean, well lit and welcoming. Pizzas that are offered by the slice are on display for you to see which is nice. You can tell they have been out for a bit though. Below I have given my thoughts on the individual slices. All the slices are New York style meaning they are pretty sizable which is a plus! Cheese: average, nothing too special but good flavor and well made. Pepperoni: in my opinion the best of the three. Good flavor, better than a dominoes, papa johns etc for sure but not quite as good as other places around. Margherita: least favorite of the 3, this may have something to do with it having been out for a little while but was kind of bland and the cheese didn't taste quite like it should. Overall not bad place, would come here more for convenience than anything else. read more

I got the magherita and pepperoni/ sausage pizza. The crust/pizza dough was really bubble-y, crisp and light-like a cracker. I prefer a dough that is more heavier. Toppings were good and fresh. They put an italian seasoning mix on top of the magherita pizza though that detracted from the fresh taste of the toppings. The pizza, strangely enough, tasted better the next day when I reheated it. Probably will try their other pizzas like the white pizza later on. This was an online order and everything was fast and done on time. read more

I'm from the east coast so I'm very particular about my pizza, but I figured since it's called Empire Pizza I'd give it a try. I went in thinking that I'd order a pepperoni slice to be on the safe side, but when I walked in they had just taken out a bbq chicken pizza so I thought why not. It was $3.50 a slice! So expensive, but I figured I was already out here so I'd give it a try. The staff was super friendly when they took my order and I didn't have to wait long for my food. The pizza was good, but not amazing. There was a bit too much bbq sauce on it. I'll go back again, but next time I'll order a pizza pie to make it more cost effective. read more
