The ladies who work here are amazing. They deserve 5 stars. The product is good. The 3 stars is for the below issues. The inconsistency is frustrating. The price on drinks varies depending on who is ringing up the order. They say the prices have gone up but the owner won't update the listed prices. They used to sell breakfast pastries but it is rare that any are available. Sometimes they are out of produce for breakfast items. This place is best for drinks only but prices are still inconsistent. read more

I've been craving their vegetarian bagel which includes hummus, avocado, pieces of cucumbers, tomatoes, and onions and it's flavorful, refreshing, and filling. Everything on the bagel tasted and looked fresh, even the avocado spread. I love meat but their bagel hits the spot and I'm happy I stopped by while I was in the area. 5/5 I had their iced matcha with coconut milk and it was refreshing and not too sweet just how I like. (sorry you all I made a mistake and the matcha drink here was good, I mistook this drink to another matcha drink I had recently). Just a reminder I need to be on top of my reviews. Oppsies, rant over sorry. I was hoping it would have a stronger matcha taste but it was better than other matcha drinks I've had. 4.5/5 The staff was welcoming when we walked in and the area has about 6 tables or so and the aesthetics are modernized. As we waited for my bagel and drink there appeared to be a lot of regulars getting their coffee fix. I've been going to this location pretty much every day for the past year (I had to check my texts messages for the notification that I received a star) The service is good, the coffee is fine. The reason for the one star is the lack of supplies. The shop itself seems to hardly ever have any pastries in stock. And if they do have pastries, they are coming in at 8-9 AM via a grocery delivery service. (Mind you it's not just pastries, it's milk, and other items they need to function). As well as they seem to be low on ingredients they need to make drinks. It's become a running joke before we walk in (my co workers and I) take a guess on whether or not, they will have what they need today. The baristas always are nice and let us know that they are still waiting on the their shipment. It doesn't sound as if the baristas themselves order the items they need. It sounds as if they are just liaisons. So this is more so directed to the person who does the ordering. Why does it seem to be the case this location is neglected? Know that if you plan on going to this location please keep in mind that you may leave disappointed because this shop doesn't seem to have someone who orders the necessary items it needs to function. read more

This Empresso is tucked on the side of the County building. Street parking is available. And there's plenty of seating inside or in the outdoor patio area as well. Their paninis are awesome! (But it does get busy at lunch sometimes so I would order online or call if you're in time crunch) The veggies and cheese panini is packed with veggies and is another great vegetarian find in downtown also the spicy turkey pesto has a nice little kick. read more

I came here to kill some time and had a lovely morning. I had an egg and cheese bagel (Asiago) and a chai latte. Both were delicious. It's hard to do an egg and cheese bagel wrong, but theirs was a step above the norm. The bagel was fresh and tasty and the egg/cheese ratio was perfect. Now as good as the bagel was, the chai latte was the real winner. Now a chai can definitely be done wrong. But this was tasty with the right amount of sweet with the perfect foam and even a pretty little design to top things off. You can tell this is a local spot for lots of people who work downtown. Freedom Coffee Company is located in downtown Stockton. Make sure to bring a couple quarters for the meter! I was quite surprised upon walking in. Clean and modern, definitely a pleasant sight. I asked the barista for a suggestion as to what to order. He suggested the "little bro," which is 3 shots of espresso, half&half, and shaken with ice. He sounded very confident about this particular drink, so I went ahead and ordered it. Not too sweet, very creamy, good coffee flavor. My friend and I sat around and chit-chatted for a while before we headed out again. Freedom was a pleasant experience, however, I wasn't left with too big of an impression. After lunch, I wanted to get a coffee before heading back to work. I've been to Terra and Trail coffee, which are both in the downtown area too. There were younger students and business workers that left with coffees, so it seemed pretty popular. I got an iced dirty chai, which has a coffee shot inside a chai latte. The lady described it tasting a bit like a ginger snap and it sure tasted that way. The drink didn't have too strong of a coffee taste nor was it too sweet. The cinnamon powder could be seen and did end up at the bottom, but it's no big deal. My buddy got a mocha and he enjoyed that. I was really hoping this new locale would recreate the artsy, counter-culture vibe of the original on The Miracle Mile but they went instead for the same modern, sanitized look of so many other cafés. Easy Go-To place when running errands downtown. Friendly staff and great cold brew. Park in the F Lot for $2 per hour and walk to half block to coffee. This is near the County Administration building and a good place for meetings. read more
