Am I impressed this hidden treasure dropped in my yelp search? Yesssss The duck sona noodles were so good! The duck was tender. Chilean sea bass was cooked perfectly with great flavor. The uni was heaven! Service was great and the ambience felt like a real sushi restaurant. Will be back for more soba noodles and uni!

Chef and his small but mighty crew are still running strong and putting out really impressive and high quality sushi without going away from tradition. I know there's several fancy sushi places in town now and in Dallas but this continues to be a stellar and consistent option for authentic sushi in town. Long may their reign continue! Thank you Chef !

A truly authentic Japanese experience tucked in a quiet corner of a strip mall. Let me just start off first by saying - if you are craving California rolls and tuna towers, this is not your spot. They don't serve "Texas" sized portions either, because that's not what they do. The owner explained to me that pre-covid their main clientele was traveling Japanese businessmen, which would explain why half of their menu is written in Japanese - which gave me confirmation that this would be a true Japanese experience. This place takes great pride in keeping their flavors OG to replicate what you would experience in Japan. The freshness of the sushi was impeccable and the texture of the sushi rice was comparable to "$$$$" rated omakase experiences I've had elsewhere. It really goes to show that they want to keep the flavors genuine - they don't even serve "local" Santa Barbara Uni, they basically told me it's Hokkaido Uni, or nothing. The most memorable bite to me was their special in house marinated ikura, it was like no other that I've had before. Toro, sweet shrimp, and scallop were also out of this world. If you want to experience a true multi-course Japanese experience right here in Frisco, I suggest calling ahead and reserving one of their Omakase experiences, because I know that's what I'm going to try next!

I have to say this place is good, very good... Awesome selection of fresh fish and some are unique. The chef absolutely knows his craft and is great'. The place is small and that makes it even better (like 25 seats). However is it 5 stars...no. It's a solid 3.5 but not a 5 star sushi place. I only say that because Nobu and Uchi are tru 5 star sushi restaurants in Dallas. Not to say this place is bad, it's far better than most! I have been to all the best sushi restaurants in Dallas so take this review with a grain of salt. Most people would say this this is a 4-5 star place as the reviews reflect. When I say 3 stars I am not talk talking like Kura comparing, 3 vs 5 comparing to Uchi and Nobu.

Decent sushi place for this area. We've been to many sushi places all over the states, surprisingly found this one in Frisco is actually serving traditional Japanese style. If you are looking for portion size, this is not the place. But what we experienced are as expected, so be kind. This is not a Americanized Sushi place. We appreciate its spirit.

This is an authentic Japanese sushi spot not like your regular sushi restaurant Price was very comparable compare to other top notch Japanese restaurants in Dallas We tried other sushi spots in Dallas but this restaurant is definitely our fav so far

Regular seating. There are more tables along the "right" side of the wall, parallel to the sushi bar that's not pictured here.

En is a hidden gem in Frisco serving authentic Japanese food. I believe the current menu is an updated one (will upload pics) with slight changes in menu items. My friend and I ordered toro and yellowtail sushi, and we both thought the texture was so so soft and delicious! We've tried the assorted sashimi in the past, and the fish has always tasted fresh. I think En is an experience. You get the most out of it by taking everything in with your senses. It's not about the portions or filling up your stomach but tasting the food on your tongue and savoring it. One of the most special dishes we've never seen at other Japanese restaurants is called Japanese style omelette with mushroom sauce, and it hit a spot! There was something about the combination of juicy mushrooms with omelette texture... I also found the salmon skin salad pretty delicious and fun to eat due to the combination of textures and flavors. Imagine munching on smooth salad leaves with chopped up salmon skin, thinly shaved onions, dressed with a savory & vinegary tasting sauce! Two years ago I also tried the mushroom kamameshi which serves 2-3 people. It was decent but it's definitely an item that you want to order asap so that you can work on other dishes while waiting for the rice to cook! Oh and if you like chawanmushi, it's a must get. I swear my mouth was watering the whole time I wrote this... Before you go, just make sure to call and make a reservation since dine-in seating is limited during the pandemic. Do note the special lunch & dinner hours! There is a break between lunch and dinner.

Excellent Japanese cuisine. Authentic food, with Japanese staff and anyone who has been to Japan know what kind of customer service you will find there. Well, you will find it here. Had the Sukiyaki, my Wife had the cold soba with tempura. We will definitely be back. Oishii!

Excellent place. One of the most authentic and delicious real Japanese food. Without a doubt, the best service and quality in Dallas Metroplex (and I know most about f them). Highly recommend this hidden gem.

The only good thing about our experience here was the very sweet waitress. The one star awarded in this review is for her, and to put this in perspective- this is our first one-star review on Yelp, ever. So buckle up, this is gonna get good. Initially, we tried to order a sample plate to ~discover the menu~ and were told "no two." Not sure what that meant, but we're promptly handed a different handwritten menu. Moving on from the lovely woman who served us, the prices, food and atmosphere are not worth it among so many great Asian restaurants in the area. The house sake (both warm and cold) was 8 bucks for 180mL of subpar sake (that's less than 4 "sips" those taking score at home). We paid $35 for a plate of tiny portions including overcooked salmon, quarter-sized sashimi (as in the actual monetary vehicle), and salt chicken (server's words, not ours). The miso soup was the only redeeming thing on the plate and the rice is not worth speaking about. "I've had better fish at Long John Silver's" - my boyfriend's review reflecting over the $10 salmon - portion about the size of a 3x5 note card (equally as appetizing). The place looks sharp and is full of nice wood, decorations and empty chairs (at 7:30 on a Friday night). We're bummed and not sure why the sushi place preciously located here closed.... Quaint, traditional sushi restaurant that's all about quality. If you're looking for sushi that you would get in Japan, then this place is a must try. The rice is perfect which, as any sushi fan would say, just as important as the quality of the fish. With great sake selection and attentive wait staff, you're in for a great experience. Please note: if you're looking for California rolls or rolls that are drenched in sauce, then you should definitely try some of the other sushi restaurants in the area since it is not the traditional way of making sushi.

Very tasty dishes and nice interior design. Am I in Japan? See for yourself. Simply amazing! I strongly recommend chef's special, course menu.

They have your traditional sushi options and a lot of kitchen items as well, in case you don't care for sushi. Everything I've ordered here, however, has been really good, and you can't really go wrong. Their sashimi is really fresh, and their nigiri is also always spot on. I will always order tako wasabi anywhere I go that has it, so this was a must for me. The ikageso was also really good and cooked well. The squid was tender and not chewy like it can sometimes get when fried. I also tried one of their specialty items the last time I went, the yuzu hotachi. This was scallop and yellowtail with asparagus, garlic, micro cilantro greens, on a bed of this delicious yuzu creme brulee aioli sauce. The sauce was like nothing I've ever had before with the perfect amount of sweet and umami flavors. My goodness, this dish was so good, I could've eaten this all day. Overall, your bill can add up pretty quickly here, but it's a pretty solid sushi joint in this area.

Each piece has special garnishing, torching etc. and is delicious; the rice is warm which makes a difference. You can essentially construct a custom omakase menu. The restaurant in general was dimly lit and relatively moody. Before I go in depth on what we ordered, here's my verdict and reasoning for the rating: The fish itself seemed like it was of good quality. You may then ask: if that's the case, why the 3 stars Salman? Service. Service was the reason. Our server and the speed at which we were getting our food was pretty lackluster. And our server, simply wasn't on top of stuff. She would disappear for long stretches and wouldn't come back to either check on us or to even take our order in the beginning. For instance, when I started ordering nigiri's, she had to stop me because while she initially thought, she could remember everything, she realized it would be better to write things down. What a fantastic thought. The chefs were very kind, but slow. We wanted to order another escolar nigiri and potentially more items, but refrained from doing so, just because of how long everything else took. Here's all that we ordered: - Hama chili: the yellowtail seemed fresh and was a good indication that the fish would be good. The dish itself wasn't the best hamachiili we've had. - Cherry blossom: rice less roll that was better than expected. Here are the nigiri's we ordered: - Flounder: sweet. Not very chewy - Escolar: buttery, torched but no smoky flavor, good. Top 3. - Hamachi: flat and lacked flavor. Would've liked some more ponzu or spice - Saketoro: slightly fishy. Went down very smooth though - Kinemedai: very fresh. Slightly bitter. - Masunosake: also very flat. We won't order salmon here again. - Otoro: fantastic. Smooth and buttery. Our favorite - Otoro handroll: basic but the fish was spectacular.
