Wow!!!!! Tons of fun. My friends and I were celebrating our friend's birthday Bretta!!!! We successfully escaped both rooms. The staff are very friendly. The rooms are challenging it's not super easy which makes it that much more exciting. So much fun. Bretta's bright bunch that was us! They are going to be redoing the two rooms with more clues and changing it up. They are also building two new rooms to have next year. It's worth going. Grab some smart friends and go get to it. 5/5!! If I could give them 100/100 stars I would. This is one of my favorite escape rooms to do! The owners are super creative and very nice and understanding. My group and I arrived a few minutes late to the new location and were not belittled and were still accommodated and greeted with a smile and a "glad you could make it!" Jay then proceeded to ask us if we needed any reminders on the different locks they used and reminded us that anything marked with a red sticker was not to be touched and then led us to the room (Guardian of the Scroll; medium difficulty). The room itself was nicely decorated and used varying methods of testing your brain with their puzzles. There is also a monitor in which the game master communicates via typing to provide you with hints and other helpful messages (in all rooms in all locations). One of the many things I love about this place is that the owners ask for feedback on the room (whether you escape or not) and ACTUALLY LISTEN AND IMPLEMENT suggestions! I would highly, HIGHLY, recommend either location for any reason (date night, group hangout) because the rooms are creatively challenging and the owners are amazing!! Good luck!! read more

This was such a fun experience! I took my two friends from Sweden here last night and we had an amazing time together! As beginners picking a "medium hard" room we felt pretty good after finishing the last clue right on the last second. The guy even ended up giving us an extra minute even though we didn't need it. We chose the room called "Spellbound" and no joke, we screamed, laughed and itched our heads under the 60 minutes we had to figure out all the clues to be able to get out of the room. He was even kind enough to give our team "Team Sweden" a discount for next time we would like to come in and play. I'm really bad at remembering names, so unfortunately I can't remember the guys name but he was really cool! This escape room was definitely a hidden gem in Los Angeles. I booked this escape room during our trip to LA when we were looking for things to do. I was able to book the same day room within a two hour notice. That was a plus. Having to put in a code in the door to get up to the lobby was a great surprise. It felt almost as if you had a secret code to get in. It's located on the third floor of an old yet stunning building. When you arrive to the third floor it opens up to the roof where you walk across the roof to get to the lobby to check-in. It was a beautiful night and you could see the beautiful colors in the sky. The customer service was great. They were friendlier than the girl who took us in at Amazing Escape Room. We were led to the escape room where we had to go through some doors. It was almost a maze. The thing that made this just okay was the room itself. A lot of the items in the room were of lower quality. It definitely felt homemade. I appreciate all the puzzles and all of the props but there was a low quality vibe to all of it. I'm not complaining, just observing. We ended up doing two rooms because we ended up escaping the first room and they gave us a promo code for the next game and we definitely took advantage of it. Wow wow wow! So impressed with this place! So I had a coworker who had never done an escape room and I decided to take it upon myself and introduce her to them. I always want the very first escape room experience to be amazing for a newcomer because it can make or break their interest really quick. This place was close by to our work and had really solid reviews. It didn't have as many as other places but I decided to give it a shot and I was not disappointed. We did the hardest room because well, I'm a masochist who likes to fail, which we did. It was this CIA task force room that was so well done! It had everything I wanted in a great escape room. The immersion, technology and flow of the room made sense. It didn't just feel like I was doing math to solve locks to open more locks and I appreciated that. Another amazing thing about this place was that this is literally a small business. The owner and his wife are the only two who are running this operation. The husband actually created all the rooms, which is incredibly impressive considering how in depth the task force room was. I got the chance to talk with him afterwards and he was telling me all about his experiences. My only suggestions moving forward, for the task force room: a calculator. Please lol. I think we were both too frazzled and we messed up three times on something that required arithmetic competency, which neither of us clearly possessed. The hint system is also a bit different than what I'm used to. There were certain aspects I found okay, but I feel like we missed hints because they disappeared from the computer screen while we were off attempting to solve something. Incorporating another screen so there's double access would also be very helpful. Overall, great experience. And they have private parking, Yay! Which we didn't take advantage because their entrance is kind of confusing and there's only one entrance and exit. I'll definitely be back to try their easier rooms in the near future! read more

We completed the Guardian of the Scroll escape room on the first day they were opened. This is the company's second location - the first one is in the Valley. Jay, one of the owners, was a terrific and friendly host. They have a small parking lot right in front of their business -which is very good considering the neighborhood. They made the common areas of the lobby look friendly and inviting - I am sure this was quite he transformation of this warehouse space. The Guardian of the Scroll escape room is heavy on puzzles. We recommend this room. The early part of the game has many non-linear elements so there is a lot to do...the puzzles became more linear as the game approached the end. We appreciated that they used many different techniques for their puzzles - they all had elegant and clear answers. We needed just one nudge of a hint for the very last lock. We recommend 4 or 5 players for this room. We were a group of 5.There are two puzzles that, while possible to complete with two players, really require 3 or 4. The room is puzzle-heavy as compared with other escape rooms - having done over 300 rooms I would say the number of puzzles here place it in the top 10%. We are not fans of scavenging for pieces and except for some minor scavenging for one of the early puzzles there was not much scavenging (and we really appreciated that!) as the puzzles were the featured activity. There was a lot of hands on puzzle-solving...another feature which we really enjoy Although there were plenty of keys and combination locks, technology played a key roll in many puzzles. And we were very impressed that everything worked perfectly even though it was their first day. They will soon open a second room at this location which we are told can be booked as the second chapter in a two hour back-to-back experience. We wish we had this option available to us...but the second room is not yet open, so we will be back soon. read more

The puzzles are just the right mix of difficult and straight forward. They have designed each room to flow so well and let you find a good stride to keep streak of figuring out each puzzle. Went here with my 3 teenage nephews and we had such a great time. The clues were enjoyable and challenging to solve and it took us almost the entire hour with 5 minutes to spare. The Enchanted Escape Room offers a great experience for all to enjoy! They have multiple rooms, with three (3) levels of difficulty. Their establishment has tons of space which enables them accommodate your large groups. During our event there were eight or nine teams, as well as a large number of people there to root their perspective team on to victory. They have an open deck lounge area, and an enclosed space as well! It's a great place for team building exercises, fundraising activities, and just a safe and wonderful outing for everyone to enjoy! The other two we did with four people and what is challenging and we had more fun. The owner was there when we finish the third room spellbound and offered us a chance to beta test their newest rumor task force agency. Let me preface this by saying I have done 20 or so Rooms and have never left an escape room unhappy. Tonight was definitely a first for me. I was very unhappy with Enchanted. Let's do a pros and cons list to see the good and the bad. Pro (Singular, literally one): The hosts were very enthusiastic and pleasant. Cons: Lets start with location first. This escape room is found in office building on the 3rd floor. The building looks like something straight out a fairy tale and would seem to fit a name like "Enchanted" perfectly. However, it was so difficult to find the escape room that my group of 6 felt that this was the rite of passage just to get to the room. It took a complete lap around the entire building for us to finally find the stairwell and start heading up. Next thing we know we were all heading up the stairs to the "third floor" also known as the roof where we walked across a boardwalk style pathway to finally reach the entrance. Mission complete we finally made it. As said the hosts were very pleasant so the signing of the waivers went good so not a con. After signing waivers we were escorted back out of the lobby on to the board walk and into the room. Where do I start with the room. "Flamethrower" was the room we did. First of all, flamethrower as the name was a complete misrepresentation as to what the room actually was. The only time I ever even noticed something having to do with a flamethrower was an GIF behind the timer. Nothing was charred. Not even a fake flame. Supposedly terrorists are burning down the building and there is nothing to show that this is occurring besides a flashing red light. The room was based off a government office and to be honest I felt like I was waiting in line at the post office when the power went out. I say the post office because every clue or instruction was a tattered sheet of paper with Arial font typed instructions. I felt like I was building a piece of furniture from Ikea there were so many instructions bloated with too many words. If I wanted to read I would've just went to the local library. This room also followed a very nonlinear puzzle path but with lots of beginnings. This can be executed really nicely to make it so large groups all have something to do. However, Enchanted did not execute this nicely or even adequately. I found myself walking around with one of said sheets of paper with instructions on it to make myself feel like I am of any use. Upon talking to my teammates after they were doing the exact same thing because there was only ever enough to keep one to two people busy at a time. This room says it can hold 10 but realistically that would be 8 people just standing around talking and looking busy while others work. They tried to do the "part of the team is isolated from the rest" move but it really just left the isolated ones bored while we all worked to get them free. They didn't have anything to do. The puzzle system was by far the laziest I have seen. They give you a key with really basic generic clues regarding puzzles. After the 20 minute mark we got to access these clues but were frustrated when we needed them just to find out they just contained common knowledge that we already had known. They didn't do anything but waste time for us. The room was also littered with things marked to not touch. However, many of these things opened during the progression of the room. Not all of them though. This led to confusion as to what was and wasn't part of the game. Not to mention, many of the do not touch items were borderline already falling off the wall. Two of our flashlights were so dim we deemed them unusable. It seems as if this room has taken a severe beating and needs some improvements to even make it remotely playable. We ended up escaping. Their props for the picture at the end were abysmal. Many were broken and the others seems straight from the dollar tree. The signs were written in a size like 18 font and are barely readable in the picture. I really hate writing a bad reviews because I usually only write reviews if they're positive. I just wanted to warn other Escape Room goers not to waste their hard earned money. read more

My very first escape room experience. I arrived with my husband as part of a celebration for my brother-in-laws birthday. I was very excited to try an escape room finally after hearing so much about them. Upon arriving, the front door has a code box in order to enter the building, of witch you receive when you are confirmed with buying the tickets thru an email. We walked up three flights of stairs, in witch we joked about that being the most exercise I've had. ( I was out of breath). We were on a roof-like landing to walk straight across to the main door. Upon entering the main door we were greeted kindly by a young woman who gave us a sheet to sign, liability forms. Then we waited when a man came in, who also greeted us kindly, and gave us the run down of what was to be expected. Then we proceeded to follow him back outside to another door and into a small room. Now let the fun begin. We ended up being locked in the room, but there was an emergency key if we needed to get out. I don't want to spoil someone's experience by giving all the details away but let's just say, you may need to be very keen and detective like to win this room. Yes, it wasn't easy even for 4 minds in one room. But it sure was fun. I look forward to trying this again in the future. I recommend trying the escape room experience, this one or anyone for that matter. Smart minds create a great idea. That's for sure. read more

This was our first escape room ever so we don't have much to compare it to. But definitely makes us want to do more of them!!! We will be going back to do the other 3 rooms available at this location. We did the enhancted forest; it was so exciting and fun for the entire family including for our 9 and 14 year old. Just did Spellbound tonight and had a great time. I have done 4 other ones, but the rest of the group, it was their first. We were on the last clue when time ran out, but my friends had such a good time that we'll definitely be back. The clues were very thorough and seemed to be well thought out. They must have read previous reviews and made some upgrades, because there were quite a bit of interactive clues that requires you to listen and write things down. Also, clues were all laminated and easy to read. I really appreciated that they labeled everything that was not moveable. That was super helpful. Overall, Im definitely interested in trying the other rooms. This is a great family friendly room as well. read more

I've done 20 escape rooms in and around So Cal and sadly, this room ranks last. My wife and I did the "Spellbound" room with a Groupon. Our hosts were warm and greeted us enthusiastically. Some of the issues that I had with the room: 1) The production value was poor. Clues were (poorly) handwritten. Numbers were smudged and hard to read. 2) At times, riddles didn't make sense. Spoiler: Like the word "SUN" means you need to look at this BLUE nightlight near the ground. Really? 3) There were an excessive number of red herrings. 4) The timer on a computer screen was replaced periodically with a screensaver that kicked showing majestic scenes of snow covered mountains. Kinda takes you out of the moment and now you don't know how much time you have. 5) At one point we got stuck and asked for a clue but received no reply. This is a big pet peeve of mine. We waited for 10 minutes before someone finally replied. 6) The location of where a clue was found was as important as the clue itself so if you pick up a clue and forgot where you picked it up from, you are screwed. There are enough good rooms in San Fernando Valley, (Basement, The Study, Pirate Bay, Sleep Study), that even those people desperate for an escape room have better options available. read more

I did "Flamethrower" here and had a pretty forgettable time. It's not that this is a terrible room, but at this point, with literally hundreds of other rooms, why open another one if you're not going to do something special? The production design of this room was almost non-existent - it was a few desks and a few shelves. I've seen every single puzzle in here before. They were all fine, but boring. All of the props were cheap plastic, and everything seemed to be done to the bare minimum, making me feel like this was another room only opened to cash in on the trend. The fact that they fill this room up with 10 people (WAY too many) only adds to that feeling. I will give them points for their staff who were lovely and enthusiastic. Again, I didn't have a BAD time per se, but it was incredibly bland and for that reason I can't recommend it to newbies or veterans. And what the hell is up with the theme? The reason it's called Flamethrower is because, according to the game master, "there are people outside with flamethrowers." You never see these people or their flamethrowers. I thought maybe there would be some cool production design where everything looks like it has been torched. Nope. They just named it "Flamethrower" because nobody would come if it was called "Desks." We did the Spellbound room and liked a lot of things about it. The decor/ambiance is really good and the puzzles are both fun and challenging. It is different than other escape rooms that I've done in the past in that there are several objectives you are trying to complete, it's not the typical solving one puzzle leads to the next, leads to the next until you're free. Because of the way it is structured, doing it with strangers is fine because they can be working on one puzzle while you work on another and if they find a clue for you or you find one of theirs you can share information, but multiple objectives can be getting done at the same time. It was easy to get tickets and book through their online system and the guy who co-owns it was really nice and helpful. The building they chose for the location is great because it is on a rooftop and there is EASY parking in the back. read more

I guess this would be a good experience if you really like entering numbers into combination locks. This was my first escape room experience (groupon) and we had an ok time but I started looking up real reviews of other escape room in the area and they look so much more fun! These rooms were all combination locks and low-budget props without any fun technology or things to interact with. Our group had a lot of trouble with the mechanics of the locks for some reason that ate up a lot of our time even when we had the right numbers. The owner/hosts were very nice, though, and gave pretty good hints when we needed them so they must have been keeping an eye on us while we played. read more

The owner is a very nice guy and opened this room out of his passion for escape rooms, so it is with a heavy heart that I write this review. However, this room was not ready for paying customers when we played tonight. I cannot in good conscience allow other escape room enthusiasts spend their hard earned money on this "escape room" or let new players think this is the standard when it is so far from it. My husband and I blew through the 60 minute game in 16 minutes without even trying. We literally can only remember solving one puzzle and it was weak at best. The rest of the room was simply arranging things you found or using keys that were hanging around "hidden". I have hope that the owners will improve the room since they've only been open for 2 days. Unfortunately it appeared as though no one else had even played the game yet because when I asked if they had done beta testing the owner responded that we were beta testers. However, beta testing is what you should do BEFORE you open your game to paying customers in order to work out the issues. I highly recommend waiting a few weeks to play this company's games so they've had time to actually test and adjust their games and then give them a shot. Hopefully they will make changes and improve to a five star experience by then. *** In response to the comment below...this business already contacted me several months ago asking me to take down my review and offering to let us play their other game and when I responded they never got back to me.
