The other day I called several times, listened thru the automated message & then each time sat on hold for quite some time before being disconnected! The following day I tried again at 4:30. And the message said they were not taking calls, that the "on call" team was covering. I thought this weird since their closing time is listed at 5:30, 7:30 & 9:30 pm- depending on the day. Finally, the next day I found a number for one of the nurses there & was able to leave a voicemail. I received a call back today. When I relayed the extreme difficulty I had trying to reschedule an appt to this support staff/scheduler I received a chuckle & was matter of factly told it was normal that no one answers the phones after 4:20 pm since that is when they stop taking calls & refer everything to the "on-call" team. This was news to us! Then why bother listing their "open" hours as being a full hour past that time, 2 hours past that time & 5 hours past that time-- depending on the day? So in summary, the telephone triage system is VERY inconvenient to navigate, and usually results in long wait times and disconnects/hang ups. And patients should know that they stop answering the phones for non-emergencies at 4:30- regardless of their posted hours.

Every visit has been truly lovely. Each staff member welcomes each patient, introduces themselves, explains what will happen at each step in the process, and provides little things for comfort like a warm blanket while napping in preparation for a contrast CT. Always calm, smiling, comforting and attentive. All appointments have started exactly on time which helps relieve anxiety as there is no stressful waiting. The facility is spotless and so beautiful. It does not feel like a hospital at all. Nice cafeteria for a snack afterwards. Free parking, too. Shout out especially to Ms. Lavin for a really extraordinary and helpful educational session today. If you should have a need for a medical genetics consult I highly recommend Christina Lavin! And thank you to medical assistant Janice for the quick and painless blood draw today. If you have to have outpatient surgery, this is the place to go. I felt more like a celebrity than…read morea patient; shaking hands, meeting my team and autographing forms. My experience with the Ambulatory Surgery Center was positive from start to finish. From the moment my parents and I arrived, everything was high touch. I was brought to my pre-op room where I proceeded to meet what seemed like 20 people who would be involved in my care. Each person introduced themselves, told me what role they played, and made a bit of small talk, which I really appreciated since I was a bit nervous. They were also very good about making sure all of the i's were dotted and t's were crossed for my sinus surgery. I got a wristband noting that I had a drug allergy and a temporary tattoo on my forehead to confirm the surgery location, you know so you don't go in for sinus surgery and leave with a boob job. A doctor must initial the location before surgery and they remove it before sending you home; I went home with a big wad of gauze taped to my face, a tattoo would've just made me look silly. They ask you a lot of the same questions repeatedly; just so nothing gets overlooked. They were very gentle, from placing my IV to intubating me I felt almost no pain. When I woke up in recovery they were like cheerleaders telling me how well everything went and how well I woke from the anesthesia and making sure I was warm and comfortable. The woman in the waiting area was also a doll, to quote my mom; by the time I left they were on a first name basis. My parents were a bit nervous when my procedure went longer than expected and she assuaged their fears. The day after surgery I got a call to see how I was doing. Despite having already contacted my doctor's office about my ineffective pain meds, they were helpful in making sure I got everything sorted out. From start to finish this place ran like a well oiled machine, I always felt like I was in really good hands. They also really impressed my mom; as someone who has worked and volunteered in hospitals for years, as well as spending time in them as a patient, she can be a very tough critic.

This is my first time at this surgery center in the olson Pavillion. The pavillion was easy to find from the parking garage with many signs leading you along the way. The registration desk was quick, efficient and very friendly. All of the staff that assisted my mother in pre op were also extremely patient and friendly and did not make us feel rushed or like just a number. They listened to our concerns and were very detailed with their explantions but not in a way that was indecipherable to the untrained ear. The nurse even called during my mothers procedure to let me know it was going well. I only wish this hospital was closer to me so I could come here too.

Even though we can all look on our phones and show them they are wrong they take no responsibility. I'd say understaffed but it wouldn't matter because they have the laziest staff you can imagine so quantity doesn't really help. It's very normal for the bargain bin doctors they have to just not show up to the patients appointments they agreed to and they suffer no consequences. Terrible hospital but again on par for horrible VA care. The entire hospital and system needs to be gutted and redone you can't salvage these people working there because they are the bottom of the barrel. Expect to be treated like garbage not listened to or even given basic care. Thank you for your service, here's the trash bin.

I asked several times for the proof of the denial they said they received , but you can't send something that doesn't exist without breaking another law, with falsely manufacturing a letter, The billing department tried to convince me that a referral only covers the equipment and not the actual test, I informed them I will report them for the no surprise medical billing violation, if they harass me any more, now I wish I looked deeper into the bills I had paid before this one. The Center for Advanced Care also includes LGH's Caldwell Breast Center which does mammograms, ultrasounds, etc for women, and which she also utilizes annually. Fortunately we don't need to visit very often here otherwise but it is nice and convenient to have this facility and its specialized services so close to home and with easy, free garage parking and access. Staffers are great and the whole operation is well organized. Big thumbs up, but don't come here without insurance coverage unless you want to go under, eeek!

We were here very early in the morning so there were not a to of people here at the time; it was just us and a couple other folks in the large waiting room on the imaging floor. I was surprised by the lack of hand sanitizer--there was one dispenser just outside the elevator from the parking garage, but I didn't see others around the check-in desk or in the waiting room. The ultrasound technician put on a mask when I asked her to. She was knowledgeable and competent which is of course always a good thing in this situation. The ultrasound was very quick--we were finished within maybe ten minutes. I like that they have little touches like lights on the roof that would distract a child getting an ultrasound, even though my little one was too young to appreciate it. However, something that's pretty annoying about Lurie is that they don't tell you that you have to sign up for MyChart. Apparently they're a separate organization than Northwestern (I thought they were simply the children's hospital at Northwestern, similar to how Prentice is the women's hospital at Northwestern) and it's the internet that told me you needed to create a Lurie MyChart account when I was trying to find my daughter's records, NOT a Lurie employee. I'm not sure why they'd assume people would know that they're distinct and separate from Northwestern's MyChart given how closely associated they are with Northwestern. Lurie has a parking garage on site and it is actually incredibly reasonably priced, amazing. Just don't forget to get a chaser card when you check in to make sure you get the best parking rate; I'm not sure if it would be more expensive if you didn't have the card.

The whole Cardiologist department is excellent!!! Today I had to come in for my son to see a dentist. Him being Autistic it's hard for him to sit still. One of the receptionist called someone to help me. I really didn't ask her to but she knew what I needed and I didn't even know what I needed! She had a lady by the name Beth Ryan who is their Child Life Specialist come to assist me! She helped me keep Major calm! She also went in the back and spoke to the dentistry team and had them to reserve a room especially for him due to his special needs. She also had sensory toys (that we were able to take home), a great demeanor, and a tablet to keep him occupied!! She was AMAZING!! So amazing her kindness, compassion, and empathy brought me to tears! She was such a joy!! I should have asked her for a picture of her but didn't want to do too much! Thanks soooooo much Beth for helping and supporting me and my baby boy today!!!!

They made a stressful situation much easier and we truly appreciated their kindness and professionalism. However, we are very upset about our experience with one doctor in particular. We felt extremely dismissed, and it seemed like our concerns were being ignored. The doctor left the room not only with an attitude, but also without fully answering our questions or addressing our concerns, simply stating that they had other patients to see. While we understand that doctors are busy and have many patients to care for, the interaction still felt very dismissive. Later, when I went to the nurses' station to ask about setting up the next appointment for the referral they were giving us, the doctor was still there. When I tried to ask additional questions about my significant other's condition, the doctor again seemed dismissive and did not take the time to address the concerns I had. What was especially troubling was that this occurred in front of the doctor's students. In our opinion, this sets a poor example and teaches poor bedside manner. Compassion, listening, and respect are incredibly important when caring for injured or ill patients.

Dr Jones was patient focused and humble, sharing her experience in a very attainable way and suitable for a person who is ill, she spoke slowly and respectfully. The same could be said for Chastity and all of the others on the floor, I don't recall all of the team member names. The facility is pretty spartan, and that is such a disservice to all. I was going to give the review a 4 star, but honestly the quality of care was worthy of a 5.
