Last month I had new windows installed in my home by Energy One. Prior to the window install, I had the builder grade double-pained windows that were installed when the home was built in 2003. Unfortunately, the windows the house was built with leaked and retained heat and cold as they were metal. This retention of heat and cold was causing the home to be warmer and colder in some areas of the home than others, thus causing the electric bill to be outrageous. In addition, the windows were difficult to open and close and clean. Accordingly, when I went to purchase new windows, I was seeking windows that were easy to clean and energy efficient. I received multiple quotes from vendors but went with Energy One because of the professionalism and honesty of the Project Manager (PM); Tony Herbert and the Consultant; Darin McCain. I had a total of 8 windows installed and two of which were changed from the traditional single hung windows to picture windows. During the install, Darin came to check the progress of the install and to ensure I was satisfied. After the install, there was a nick in the color of one of the new vinyl windows (I went from metal white windows to vinyl architectural bronze). I got new windows, YAY! The process to buy and install, however, has been a nightmare. EnergyOne is the vendor and I seriously question the integrity the company showed me. Here's my experience: OVER-PRICED: I answered a cold-call knock at my door where the vendor was going house to house to sell windows. I had been thinking of new windows for a long time since mine were fogging up and hard to open. I signed a contract and didn't think twice through the 3 day rescind period after which I gave a hefty down payment. I started asking neighbors who had recent window installs about their experience and the price they paid. I quickly discovered that I was charged between 40% and 50% more than my neighbors with recent installs. I called Darrin, the sales rep, for explanation and he commented that my windows were in production, and we couldn't revisit the deal. SEVEN WEEKS later, my windows were installed. So, were they in production for 7 weeks? BROKEN WINDOWS: On the day of install, the contractors broke four windows. I understand, stuff happens. They said that they could replace the window panes and complete the job shortly. I spoke with Justin, the install coordinator and requested that NEW windows be manufactured because I wanted an original seal between the double panes so that the protective gas would not escape. This is the problem with my current windows. He warned me there was an 8 week manufacture wait time and I agreed to it in order to have peace of mind. Afterall, I was paying for that! SECOND INSTALL: Eight weeks later, contractors arrive and I ask, "Are these new windows?" They replied yes and explained that they had removed the wrapping at the warehouse to save on trash pick-up. Really? Given how fragile the first batch of windows were, if I were them, I would keep the packaging in place till destination. I had taken identifying pictures of the original windows that had hand-written order numbers on the top. I inspected the "new" windows, and low and behold, they were the SAME EXACT BROKEN WINDOWS with the pane replaced. I frantically called many contacts for an explanation: sales guy, finance coordinator, the customer rep guy before getting a hold of the install coordinator, Justin. He explains to me that customers are mis-informed about the gas escaping and that replacing a single pane is not a problem. Great, maybe that's true, but you took me through an 8 week wait period, led me to believe I was getting new replacements, and never informed me differently. Yuck, I'm left with that slimy feeling I've been manipulated and taken for a fool. I understand that it is hard to run a small business and I do what I can to support local, but it is frustrating dealing with contractors that show up with fancy words, that act like they care about you, and then provide you with a sloppy, disheartening experience. Imagine this, a whole week has passed since I bombarded them with panicked calls on the install date and no one from EnergyONe has called to ask about my experience and if it was resolved? No one has asked if the install went well and if the windows are working fine... However, the day following install, I promptly got an email demanding me to pay my bill. read more

We didn't have any issues with the purchase and installation process, with the exception that there is damage to all 22 window frames in the house (nails poking up from the ledge, scuffed/chipped paint, scratches on the wall that required repair) otherwise the windows are great. Since it was during covid, the post inspection never happened, so we have a few screens that have holes, trim that isn't seated correctly affecting fit of screen - allowing bugs through gaps. I have had an ongoing service request for 5 months and cannot get appropriate response like WHEN they may be able to repair. I'd be fine if they said it would take several months, but they do not, just ongoing emails with no resolve. Their customer support is absolutely terrible. The lesson I've learned with the few home repairs I've had is be sure to check reviews on their customer support AFTER things are installed.... particularly solar and windows. read more

We purchased brand new windows from EnergyOne about a year and a half ago. They sold us on the quality of the windows which would lead to noise reduction and energy savings. Relative to other companies, the price was pretty good. The installation process took an extra couple of days than they told us it would, but at the end, the windows looked great. The problem came afterwards. I suppose I didn't know anything about flashing at the time, and apparently EnergyOne doesn't either, because now we hear every car that drives by and every bird that chirps outside. We never heard these things before, even with our builder grade windows. As I've researched what's going on, it seems that while the quality of the original windows may have been poor, they did a much better job of installing them with a better fit and proper flashing, resulting in less noise and better all-around energy savings. Conclusion...use EnergyOne and you'll be left with great windows, but poor installation that negates the advantages of the windows you just paid for. If I had it to do over again, I'd use someone else. read more

We recently had windows replaced by Energy One. My wife and I were thoroughly impressed with the whole process. Our sales person, Orlando was very knowledgeable in the products and answered all our questions. The quality and the visual aspect of the windows was excellent. The installer, Chad and his crew did a fabulous job. Everything went smooth, clean and no issues. We recently had Energy One install new windows (and two sliders) on our house and I can't say enough positive things about them. The process was simple, the cost was competitive, and the quality of the windows is amazing. We have a two story house on a corner lot with tons of windows, not a lot of shade, and terrible circulation - meaning it's hot and stuffy most of the time. Well, NOT ANYMORE. In the two weeks since Energy One finished the install, the house is not only quieter, it is WAY cooler! So much so, that we've been testing it by setting our thermostat ridiculously high when we leave and coming home to a house that isn't unbearably hot. I can't wait to see the difference in our electric bill. Additionally, the installers were AMAZING. They finished on time, cleaned up every speck of work, and were just great guys. Just have to say thanks to Frank who worked with us getting our house windows. We live very close to very busy train tracks and intersections. So you might imagine the noise from the horns all day night. The noise is almost non existent when the windows are closed. And having a 2 story the ease at which we can clean the windows is great. I would highly recommend Energy One if you need to replace your windows. From the consultation, we dealt with their Marketing Director, Darin McCain and he was both knowledgable and fun. We knew what we wanted and he gave us "cliff notes" on the usual sales pitch. Good dude. The windows were ordered way faster than we had planned on, so they worked with us in delaying installation until it fit into our schedules. The installation took 3 days and our team was Rooster & Doug. These guys knew what they were doing. They were one time every day and FAST. My husband is pretty DIY, so it pains him to pay someone to do anything, but even he was impressed with their abilities. They were quick and professional and fun. Played music, chit-chatted, and put up with my husband's questions. We got triple-paned windows and the product has been fabulous. The difference in sun and heat coming in is already noticeable and we don't even have treatments on the windows yet. We had 3 small windows that were ordered wrong by the manufacturer and the company immediately ordered new ones on the first day. They were here about 2 weeks later and the guys came out and swapped them in a few hours. We also had 2 windows with small cracks, and getting new panes was easy and quick. I highly recommend this company and their product. And at 1/3 of the price of Anderson Windows, you are really getting a better deal. read more

Great salesman... Cost of windows were outrageous. Lied straight to my face saying each window would cost roughly $875 per window and that was the cost of the window with no labor involved. I have gotten quotes for $277 per window (the exact same window) from Clear Choice. They end up coming out to the same in price, after labor. EnergyOne said that they had a special deal running that was 30% off windows and no charge for labor... "Hurry now, we only offer it to two people a month!!!" Realistically they just don't tell you the labor is rolled into the price and your not getting a 30% discount. Spoke with plenty of sales people at the home and garden show and when they heard $10,000 or more for 15 windows, they almost fainted at how expensive that was. If your looking to be sold a product, EnergyOne is your company. If your looking for reasonably priced with good installers (it doesn't take a specialist to install a window properly) then there are hundreds of other companies in Austin that will do the same if not better job. In Austin, you don't need triple pane double low-e coating, that is more for the sahara desert. Double pane, single low-e coating is PLENTY of energy protection no matter what anyone tells you. Seriously, I recommend getting MULTIPLE quotes before moving forward with any specific company and you will see they will all tell you the same thing about their windows. So you can compare with other companies, EnergyOne charges about $850 per triple pane window, $650 per double pane window and $2500 per patio door. read more

From the friendliness of the initial cold call door to door salesman (Daren) to the installer who put in our new windows(Dave), we could not have had a better experience with Energy One. We had 3 bids to have our windows replaced and while Energy One was a little more than our lowest bid, they came in about 4K lower than Anderson and their lifetime warranty (including accidental damage) was worth the extra cost. When we recently bought a new home, we were looking for various ways to improve the energy efficiency of the house. One of our concerns was that we had three very large west-facing windows which let in an enormous amount of light and heat. The upstairs bedroom, in particular, felt like a greenhouse in the afternoon. For this reason, we were particularly interested in the Energy One Venetian Windows with the triple-pane, Low-E glass. The installation was much easier than I expected; with 16 total windows to replace, including the three large custom size windows, I was worried that this would be a major undertaking but the crew finished the job easily in two days. They couldn't have been more friendly! With a new home, we've had many technicians in and out over the past few months for minor repairs and the Energy One guys were among the most professional and efficient. Since we were in the home for less than a year when the windows were installed I can't tell you the exact cost savings, but the difference in the comfort level of our home was immediately apparent. Before, the temperature of the house would rise several degrees in the afternoon no matter how high the AC was running; now the house remains at a consistent cool temperature throughout the day with minimal air conditioning. Beyond that, the windows look beautiful. The frames and sashes look great, but what I was most pleased with is that the clarity of light in the house is still wonderful. The windows have successfully cut down on the heat exchange without noticeably altering the illumination in the house. Great windows and they were so fast to sell and then comes a problem and they're nowhere to be!! They have only one guy who can help but he is dealing with some family stuff and he is not available. Don't get me wrong, I'm sorry for that but this is business and private is something that you can't afford in business! I needed to replace a window and they brought a pice with a broken glass and that was month ago! It's just so hard dealing with them! Not to mention that first time when I had a problem they scheduled 3 weeks after I called and then to replace the window they just showed up no call before! Just horrible! EnergyOne just installed new triple pane windows and they are amazing. They put in high end Alside windows with R - value around 5 and super low solar heat gain coefficient. Their price was great and their installers efficient and professional. What should have taken them 3 days they did in just 2, beating the huge storms that were imminent. We used to hear every sound outside. The busy street traffic from a quarter mile away was a noisy din, and when the trains rolled through blaring their horns, it sounded like the train was in our backyard. Now with these windows the street traffic is completely silent and the train horn only a distant droning. Great product, great installers, highly recommended. read more

We love our new Energy One windows! Dave and Brandon installed our windows, arrived on time, worked really hard, and did an amazing job! They installed our windows in the order I requested, answered all of my "Type A" questions, and never complained when I requested additional sealant, etc. Once the installation was complete, Dave did a thorough walk through with me before leaving. When I noticed something didn't look quite right with one of our windows the following day, Dave came back to check it out, determined the window had a faulty part, and immediately took care of ordering the part that needed to be replaced. I appreciated that the process was exactly how Frank (salesman) described it in our initial meeting when we signed the contract for the windows (timing of windows measuring and installation, who would call and when, etc.). I have to admit I have been wanting to replace the original aluminum frame windows in our house that was built in the late 60's since we moved in 16 years ago, but with floor to ceiling windows in several rooms I was in fear of having to choose either high price or low quality. We replaced 2 windows with Anderson windows several years ago and figured we would do a room every few years as we could afford it. It appears that with Energy One we have a total win outcome! I was not planning on replacing windows this year, but the price was so affordable for such high quality windows, we replaced all the other windows in the house. The only expense we didn't count on was buying some new sheer curtains, because there was no way I was going to put up the old sun blocking ones & old mini-blinds that we used to save energy with & hide the ugly old windows. I did not find the Energy One sales people to be pushy. They came out on our schedule and did all the widows in less than a day, leaving no trace of major work having been done in or around the house. We recently moved into a house built in the 80s with original single pane windows that were not in good shape. So we were casually looking into the idea of buying new windows, partially for some minor increase in efficiency and also for beauty, usability in mild months, outside noise reduction, and resale value as it would likely have to get done at some point anyway to ever resell the house. I was very impressed with the professionalism, even though the initial contact was door to door, our sales/marketing rep was very nice and thoroughly explained how the windows worked (they have several configurations.) The pricing was certainly not the cheapest but not nearly the most expensive either but we feel it was good and fair pricing for the quality of triple paned window we received. The installers did an excellent job and even replaced some wood rot at no charge that was not even their responsibility. Very professional guys. Energy One works to get you financing for most of the cost. All in all, I am very satisfied. They windows are definitely gorgeous and functional, they mute most all of the unwanted outside car noise and dogs barking etc, and I'm sure will make a difference in resale value of my home. I was also pleasantly surprised by the change in energy efficiency. I work my business from a home office on the 2nd floor with 3 windows that take a lot of sun. My office previously was very hot and I just couldn't cool it off without freezing the rest of the house, not to mention the electric bill to do that. But since the new windows, my office is as comfortable as a downstairs room away from the sun, so I am looking forward to some electric bill savings as well. They made everything pretty easy for us. The guy who came to our appointment didn't try to upsell anything. When the windows got in the installation only took 2 days for every window in our house. The guy who installed them was efficient, clean, friendly and even started with the room we requested so that we could put our cats back in their room. One of the windows did arrive damaged (not very noticeably) and they ordered a brand new replacement no questions asked. I do wish we had an itemized purchase order and a before/after thermo picture to see what our energy savings will be but we could feel a different in the first day. To begin with, Zachary was the first person I met in the process of getting Energy One to provide replacement windows. I had probably turned away a few different representatives over the past few years although my neighborhood is apparently a huge market for new windows given the age of the neighborhood (mid 70's) and the huge sales gains on these homes. I rarely, if never, go with any company who solicits my home with anything. However, there was something different in the approach even initially with Zachary in the Energy One approach. The people who work for Energy One display confidence; and that comes from confidence in their product. I never felt pressured or "marketed" or even given the sales pitch. I am actually not a good receiver of a sales pitch and have an extremely low threshold to closing the door in someone's face if confronted with such. I finally relinquished and decided that I did indeed need to face the fact that these windows weren't going to replace themselves and I would have to crack open my wallet. Prior to starting the job, I was reminded of what to do to prepare for the crew coming on installation day and then reminded the day before of the time they would arrive. The crew came on time and finished the job in 1 1/2 days, taking care to show me how the windows looked after they completed the job. Shawn, Eric (Rooster), and Roger were a great team working in some kind of secret polished formation quickly and efficiently. Shawn had noticed that the last set of windows to be installed were to be special tempered glass for the window next to the back door, and it wasn't the correct one that was delivered. The frame and the incorrect glass was placed to prevent bugs and water coming in. The correct glass was then ordered on that day and to be installed at a later date along with the inspection from the city. They cleaned up after themselves, took little to no breaks, and finished the job completely in what I thought to be a short amount of time. They were also professional and pleasant to work with. Samantha, the front desk receptionist does a great job as well handling the numerous phone calls and organizing the clients' needs. And she does it all with a smile. I can tell that she does even being on the other side of the phone. I have never met her in person but can tell that she does her best to remain positive despite some heavy workloads. As a finality, Eric returned with the tempered glass, installed them in less than 15 minutes and Shawn reapplied some caulking around the windows where the air conditioner had shrunk the caulking exposing some small gaps. Of course, both tasks were on the house and they showed up on time and again were highly professional and cleaned up after themselves. I can't say enough great things about Energy One in the installment of my windows and I am loving them even now 3 months later. The sounds outside are almost completely muffled and so far, my air conditioning has not just continued to run nonstop to maintain an even 76 degrees when I set it at 78. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing window replacement and have in fact to several of my neighbors. read more

I was approached twice within a couple of months about being a "marketing advertisement home". The first time in April, Pedro came by and scheduled a meeting for the following Friday to come out and get an estimate. No one ever showed. Then Judy came out and stated that her company would never do that (it must have been the competition she claimed), until I showed her the brochure and contact details that Pedro left. Giving them a second chance, I allowed her to schedule a quote meeting for the following Thursday. I then received a call the day of the appointment and Judy tells me that it is a "company policy" that both the husband and wife be present for the quotation - yet Judy did not know this policy when she booked the meeting. Energy One replaced 14 windows in my home in SW Austin and what a difference the new windows make! Since installed, I have saved at least $100 per month over the same time last year. The extraneous neighborhood & traffic noise is almost non existent anymore, The product is beautiful and enhances my home on the outside and inside. The Staff, from sales to installation, has been professional, approachable, and client centered. Dave A. (installer) followed up on my job when part of an installation team had fallen ill. He made adjustments and finished the process until I was happy. Later, in the fall, he returned to install a couple of large bedroom windows that involved making the openings larger. Dave worked methodically, meticulously covering wood floors & furniture, while pulling out windows without tearing up walls, siding, or drywall. He fit my new windows into my not-so-even walls with precision, trimming them out on the inside & out. What a beautiful job! His considerate treatment of my home & furnishings reflect the respect he has not only for clients, but for his personal reputation as well as that of Energy One. Great personnel like Dave make clients glad they went with Energy One. I could have bought less expensive windows, but I'm very happy I went with EO. We recently replaced 12 windows and two patio doors and couldn't be happier with them. Everyone we dealt with at the company was friendly and professional, and the two installers, Chad and Tim, were incredibly hardworking, getting everything done in two days. We have done virtually every kind of home renovation over the past four years, and they were certainly the most efficient workers. The white windows are a dramatic improvement over the original brown metal ones and the doors are actually nicer looking than the two Pella doors we installed a few years ago. The triple pane windows allow us to ditch the ugly solar screens without sacrificing energy efficiency. It is too early to tell how much we will save on our electric bill, but the house is noticeably quieter. We would recommend this company and these products without reservation. read more

We recently worked with Energy One to replace the windows in our home. We selected Energy One from several competing vendors. The sales staff was friendly, responsive and easy to talk with. They answered all of our questions, including those on paying for the windows and financing options and were very accommodating when we changed our minds. The crew who came to install the windows were friendly and professional. We had thirteen windows changed out, two of which had to be resized an area because the windows were not up to current code. They answered my questions and were great to chit chat with. They completed all the work, including clean up, in less than two days. The new windows totally changed the way the house looks. It gave the house a face lift! I am even beginning to like the color of the brick because these windows complement the colors so well. Just had our new replacement windows installed last week from EnergyOne Windows Austin and I am extremely pleased we did! Our house was 30 years old and we've been debating about replacements for the original "builder grade" windows for the past few years. We had a couple of estimates done prior but was extremely impressed with the quality of EnergyOne's product, the triple pane Venetian. They aren't the cheapest and neither are they the highest, but a great value for a great product. What helped us to decide on EnergyOne was they stand behind their windows with a Lifetime, (30 year transferable), warranty that even includes installation, accidental breakage and screens. Truly the last dime you will spend on these windows. Not only was my wife and I looking for a great looking, durable, energy saving window but living on the main entrance to our subdivision, noise insulation was also a concern. I can tell you now, we no longer hear the construction guys leaving in the morning going to work with their diesel trucks or the motorcycles revving by. These new windows look great too. I was almost embarrassed after removing the blinds, in preparation to the install, at how cloudy almost every old window was. My neighbor just said how newer our house looks with the replacement windows and I agree that the exterior of our home really does look like a new build! I will also say the professionalism and experience of the entire EnergyOne team was great. Every appointment and schedule was on time! Darin provided us with a professional demonstration and overview of the product with no pressure (although he still wanted to make a sale, understandably). I was quoted that the actual installation would take about a day and a half for 14 windows and was a little concerned when the installation crew showed up and it was one guy, Mike. Unlike other companies that use subcontractors, Mike was part of the EnergyOne factory trained installation staff. He really knew his stuff and completed all the windows on time with great looking results. Also a shout out to Darin for the tip to use sheet-rock screws to reinstall my blinds; saved me over an hour dealing with the zinc screws that come with the blinds and strip almost half of them when they hit framing studs! Overall, yes I would highly recommend you add EnergyOne to your short list if you're in the market for a great window at a fair price. read more
