In the back they have tables and each table has an individual TV!! You can select to turn it off, if you would like to spend time with your dining partners, or you can tune it to whatever you want(within what's available), you also have control of volume, it does have a max though! FOOD: my burger was so moist and juicy! I ordered a well done burger and it was still moist! The flavor profile was exactly what i expected from what i read on the menu. My daughter and I stopped in here after finding I it recommended in Creative Loafing's Best of the Bay. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food is amazing! It was lunchtime and the dining area was full, so we sat at a two-top in the bar area. Their craft beer selection was displayed on a screen on the wall, and I opted for a vanilla porter. The menu has a great selection of different, very unique burger combinations. It was difficult deciding which to get! My daughter and I decided to split the Black Flag burger (Cajun spices, Blackened & topped with Pepper jack Cheese, Jalapeno Bacon & Fire Roasted Red Peppers) with French fries and an order of the sriracha wings. The place is located in a corner establishment. They have beers on tap, and I ordered the Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat, which is a very refreshing beer. The server was very attentive, so good service overall. They have a lot of burgers to choose from with unique names. All burgers come with fries. I went with the classic Bacon Cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. The fries were very good. The burger didn't do it for me. The bun is a big thing for me on a burger, and I found the bun to be kind of dry. I found the burger to be lightly seasoned, so ok flavor from the burger patty. So the burger was just ok. If you enjoy a good burger, you HAVE to eat here! The names of each burger are amazing and so creative! I had the Windy City, prosciutto, basil pesto, mozzarella and tomato - SO GOOD! The prosciutto with the burger gave such a  unique flavor. My friend got the Thin Lizzy a vegetarian option, so lots of veggies on a grilled multigrain toast. I sat at the bar. The staff was attentive and friendly. Ky food didn't take long to come out, but it wasn't too busy in the middle of the day on a Friday. I tried the Ragin Cajun and sweet potato fries. The fries was crispy and perfectly cooked. The Ragin Cajun description says it's an andouille sausage; however, they changed to a hot dog. The person helping me assured me that it would still have that cajun flavor you expect even without the sausage and she was correct. The hot dog is meaty and held up well with the heavy sauce. When they say crawfish sauce, they mean sauce with actual crawfish in it! It is very cool and different, something that I wouldn't think is a good combination but actually is. My only criticism is that the crawfish in the sauce was a little overcooked, but it was overall still an enjoyable dish. I had to give up on eating the bread halfway through because it can be a bit heavy depending on what else you had to eat that day. read more

A great cozy brewpub in downtown St. Pete! Engine No. 9 offers a classic line-up of bar food, but taking them for a unique spin like happened with the Sriracha wings I ordered. Regular Buffalo sauce on wings is great and all, but sometimes you need something with a bit of zip on them. The Sriracha wings were definitely hot lil devils, but with a ton of flavor that made you almost able to smile through the tears. Also, with a solid line-up of craft beer, I could easily find a beer to calm the heat. Overall, sometimes you just have to work through a little pain in a meal to enjoy it fully. Engine No. 9 was a great choice for the night and it will be on my list for another visit, if just for those wings! read more

We drove from downtown Tampa to visit. This spot came highly recommended. The service was outstanding along with the draft beer selection. I felt we may have ordered the wrong items. I felt overall the food was average. Pictured below is what we ordered. Ordered the wine burger and had goat cheese on it. I didn't really get that "wow" factor from the burger and most def not from the hotdog. I would not order a hotdog again from here. I would stop by again if in the area to try a different burger. We've been longing to try this establishment for a while now, although it was good, it was not knock my socks off good. Let me explain. We arrived on a busy Friday night, yet only had to wait at the bar for about 5 min before we were seated at our table. While at the bar the very knowledgable bar tender explained the vast types of beers. My Bride chose an Italian beer, Peroni a lager which is the # 1 beer in Italy. (She loved it so much that I had to buy a six pack that weekend). Once at our table we were greeted by a very cheerful and again knowledgable waitress. Who efficiently explained the menu to us. We selected our app of calamari fries with cucumber- tomato salad & jalapeño ranch. It was decent, something we probably wouldn't order again though. For my burger I went with the bacon cheeseburger, sharp smoked cheddar, lettuce, tomato. My Bride chose the Heart Attack, fried egg, 3 slices of American cheese (she opted for one slice) bacon, and chipotle mayo. While both were good, we were underwhelmed. We came to the conclusion that the burgers were fine, it was the potato roll that did not complement them. Too dense of a roll for both our likening This restaurant is a great concept, what with the history of its owner and the TV's at every table, compounding with the fantastic service. Yes, I loved it. Cool place, cool people, awesome burger. Sometimes when I go into a hip, trendy place, I end up having a bad time just because the server is too hip and trendy to actually be waiting tables. That was not the case here - the server was friendly, efficient, and quick - all traits I love in a quality server. I had the Goat Head burger, and I can't see ever trying a different burger here because that one was just so darn good. Goat cheese, roasted red pepper, vinaigrette, and pickles. And the tater tots.. oh, the tater tots... I love a good tater tot and not only were they perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked, but it was a very generous portion, too. Yay! Engine No. 9 makes no bones about being a sports bar, so there are televisions at every table, and sports memorabilia on the walls - with an emphasis on hockey. Seems like it would be an awesome place to watch a Tampa Bay Lightning hockey away game. Five stars for the best wings in recent memory, creative burgers and abundant tap selection. The Sriracha Wings were to die for. These jumbo wings were meaty, juicy and crispy. We expected the sauce to be a bit spicier, but it was mellow and the heat came through at the end. The glaze was outstanding. We even asked for a side of wing sauce for our burgers. And the seaweed slaw that came with the wings was an innovative pairing instead of carrots or celery. Add some blue cheese to the wings and you've got yourself a five star appetizer. The One Bad Pig burger was an explosion of flavor. Pulled pork on top, pickled red onions and aioli were incredible. All while cooked to a perfect medium rare. This is a man's burger. It was difficult to make a decision on which burger to choose, because the menu was vast and nearly never ending. But I highly recommend the One Bad Pig. It's one of the most succulent burgers I've discovered in Florida. When I'm in St. Pete again, I will undoubtedly visit Engine No. 9. Our server was awesome too. Funny, personable and a seasoned vet. Here you'll find the classic dive vibe with TV's all around. Beer taps from Ballast Point, Left Hand, Southern Tier and everything in between. What an awesome selection of burgers! I came in here during a day trip to St. Pete. I'd heard a lot about this place and decided to check it out since I'm a big burger fan. Our table started with the fried pickles, which were cut into quarter spears and served with a delicious, creamy sauce. The fried pickles were perfectly breaded. The breading didn't overwhelm the pickle taste, and the pickles weren't soggy either. After looking at the menu I felt sort of overwhelmed because so many of the burgers sounded awesome. The burger I originally wanted, the Chubby Duck, was out so I opted for the Alice In Pain. The burger was pretty spicy, but not too spicy. It came with pancetta, red pepper and pineapple. The pineapple provided a sweetness to the spiciness which worked really well. I got the cucumber salad as my side and it was decent. Not amazing, but still alright. My boyfriend had the One Bad Pig burger, which was stacked high with pork. I had a bite and it was delicious. My friend had the Wine-O burger and said it was delicious. I didn't get to try it, but I did try part of the onion ring from his burger and tasted some of the BBQ sauce which had a smoke and wine flavor. It was a really interesting combination of flavor. Wish I knew the recipe for that BBQ sauce because it was seriously incredible. I was very impressed with this place. I love how big of a variety there was at Engine No. 9 and know I'll definitely be back to get the Chubby Duck! read more
