This is a casual, sports bar type environment. It's relaxing for a date or a hang out. Sriracha Wings deserve all the hype they get! It almost tastes like they bake the sauce into the wing. Wings are one of my go to bar foods, and I would say these are definitely in my Top 5 Burger - the man LOVED the burger. He said it was his favorite burger he has ever had. OMG what a great find! My boyfriend saw this place on Facebook and since we were going to St Pete he surprised me and took me here. We ordered a cold draft and started to look at the menu. Some very different burger combinations. The smell in this place is amazing and instead of people watching we were "burger watching". We decided on the 504 burger which has peanut butter and apple bacon and also the sriracha sauce wings. I can tell you both were absolutely amazing and woke up our taste buds like crazy. The burger crispy on the outside and juicy in the middle! Wings also cooked perfectly and the sauce soooo good! Atmosphere is fun and cozy, bartender friendly! Came in on Friday for a quick bite with my wife. We sat ourselves and were served promptly. The food did come out quickly, so no complaints there. We started off with the duck wings, we did enjoy the generous amount of sauce they came with, we continued to use it for dipping our fries. My wife had the thin Lizzy sandwich and I had the Alice in pain burger (no pain here whatsoever, it's a tasty burger). Their hamburgers are overrated. The beef is okay, but it's just a bunch of stuff on a hamburger. I like that they stay open later than other places in st. Pete. I had a great server last I was there. I just do not think their food is worthy of anything. All their hamburgers are the same size, so when I went there I wanted a cheese steak, they didn't have it. I wanted a kids hamburger, they didn't have it. I ended up cutting my burger in half (long ways) so it could be thinner. read more

My burger was undercooked, my husbands was over-cooked. Averaging the two would've gotten to the "medium" we both ordered. Fries were good, but not necessarily special. Service was good. Every table has a TV with adjustable volume (good or bad, depending on your interpretation). Beer selection was excellent, so there's some redemption there. Are there better burger places in town? ​We've started a mission to find our go-to burger place here in St Pete and kept hearing great things about Engine No. 9, so we thought we would give it a try. If you are not familiar with the neighborhood, you could quickly blink and miss it. Once inside, there is a long dark-colored​ room with several hightop tables on one side and the bar on the other. Someone commented to us that there was more seating in the back or we would have never seen the small dining room. The dining room has about eight tables, each with its​ own TV screen and remote control. Off to one side is a HUGE scrolling screen with all of the sixty or so beers. The problem is that it scrolls way too fast to find a beer and read anything about it. The server was SUPER FRIENDLY and helped us select two lighter beers and gave us a minute to look over the menu. The burgers are enormous, an ​eight-ounce​ burger with a side so we opted​ not to try any of the starters. My husband tried The Black N' Blue ($13.25) Frank's Hot Sauce, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Sliced Blue Cheese, ​and Blue Cheese Crumbles. He chose Sweet Potatoe Fries as his side. The burger was cooked to the correct temperature​ and had plenty of bacon and blue cheese. He does not eat tomato or pickles, so he was beyond excited to see that if you want it dressed with lettuce, tomato, onion or pickle you have to ask for it. I ordered the XXX Burger ($13.25) Cheddar Cheese, Barbecue Sauce, and Jalapeno Bacon on a Pretzel Roll. I went with Tater Tots for my side. The burger​ was ordered rare and was beautiful, perfectly cooked and delicious, but the Jalapeno Bacon lacked some of the heat I expected. The Pretzel roll seems to be a little smaller than their regular​ rolls, so between the rare burger and the smaller roll,​ it was a bit tough​ to keep together. Overall the server was friendly, and the food was good. The two things that kept them from getting a 5th star were the noise and the price. The room has all hard surfaces, tables are right on top of each other, and each has a TV. So it gets really loud, we could hear every conversation at the tables around us. The price was a tough one, as the burgers were delicious. Two burgers and two pints of beer we were at nearly $50 with tax. There are several places in St Pete where​ we have had burgers, some as good and a few better, a much more reasonable price. We'll probably be back, just not on a regular basis. read more

What a selection of burgers they have! I was surprised at how any were on the menu - and you can build your own! I went with the Windy City. I think my taste in burgers is a little simplistic, but I wanted to taste one of their creations. It was well cooked and cheesy. My husband ordered the duck wings - which I tried, also yummy. My wife & I ate here for the first time this afternoon. We made the easy walk from Tropicana Dome after the Rays game. Fun horseshoe shaped bar with plenty of seating. Plenty of good TVs with football. Our server Mike was great! We are from Boston & he told us a fun story about the Esposito jersey on the wall. He was very familiar with the beer list & suggested a great canned lager for me. My wife also enjoyed the Pinot Grigio he suggested. My wife had a bacon cheeseburger without the bacon & I had a Demi-God burger. Both were really good. I love horseradish so mine was delicious & my wife really enjoyed hers too. I had the cucumber salad and my wife had tater tots. Who can't like tots! The salad had a delicious dressing. Lots of very pleasant servers who took the time to talk to us. I visited Engine No. 9 with a party of 4 for lunch on a Saturday. We arrived at 1:00 and had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. There is only a small section in the back with seating for 4. My aunt was craving a burger; I was told this is the place if you needed good burger. It was the perfect recommendation. This place has about 10 or so burgers to choose from. All sound delicious so it is difficult to order! They have a really good beer selection too. What is better than a wide selection of beer and burgers. I ordered the "Bokor" with sliced brisket, fried cheese curd, jalapeño bacon and jerk glaze with a side of sweet potato fries. You have to ask for it "dressed" to get lettuce, tomato, pickle, etc. My burger was awesome but I don't think I even made it through half. I definitely could have slit it with someone. The service was good. Our servicer seemed to be prepared for our indecisiveness trying to figure out which burgers to order. Another huge plus, flat screen TVs at each table! read more

The burgers here are flavorless. It is hard to imagine a burger with less flavor. It Is obvious why they pile on all types of toppings as it is the only way this burger is going to taste like anything more than cardboard. Service was okay. Slow to acknowledge us but then it improved. The building is pretty nondescript from outside and the inside is nothing to write home about. Parking is challenging with the ongoing construction next door. Very few customers when we were there. This place is just the best. For me it's the best burger in Tampa bay. Been here twice now and the first time I enjoyed their corn doggie. It's not your average corn dog size. A giant 100% Vienna Beef, corn battered and fried to a golden brown and served with spicy mustard and a voodoo sweet sauce. We were craving burgers so we decided to try this place out based on their Yelp reviews. They sure did not disappoint! I ordered the Van Helsing burger fully dressed with curly fries. The burger was amazing! I've never had whole cloves of roasted garlic on a sandwich like that, and it definitely wasn't too garlicky. There was a little bit of a kick when I got the occasional hot jalepeno but it wasn't overly spicy. They cooked my patty perfectly medium rare. The fries were delicious as well. Perfect texture and seasoned great. My husband had the Demi-god burger which was also delicious, and tater tots. I'm not a huge tots fan but these ones were good, especially dipped in ranch. Their ranch even seemed to taste better than the Hidden Valley I have at home. They have an extensive beer list which was much appreciated, plenty of non-IPA choices which I feel like is a rarity these days. But also IPAs if you like them, I just don't. Tots somehow crisp with chili ladled on, cheeses just at the point of melting. Great flavors in my mouth! We were after burgers and the options were almost bewildering. I ended up with a XXX-Burger, but I wanted to try all of them. The burgers came out fairly quickly. Mine was perfectly cooked (I asked for medium), and the cheddar/BBQ/bacon combination was perfect. Others in our party really liked their plates as well. Each table includes a sizeable flatscreen TV, you pick what you want to watch while waiting. First time here and everyone has been telling me to go and try their burgers and i finally made it! The menu doesn't make it sound like how big and good these burgers are! It tells you what's on it but they are 8oz patties served with a side for $12-$16. If you want lettuce, tomato or onion on it you must ask but for most of them you won't need it. Sides include sweet potato fries, tots, and a few of the traditional items along with mushrooms, cheese or jalapeños for $1 more. About 20 burgers to choose from along with hot dogs, salads a few entrees and starters to choose from. Good prices on all the food. Bar area and some high tops that sits two people and in the back they have tables for 4 with about 8 or so tables. Not a big place but very tasty. Lots of tvs to watch as well.
