When I came in there was a single guy, at almost every single table, not eating just sitting there by themself. The whole time I was here nobody left... or ate food lol. Today I was by there and another "reliable" teriyaki shop was closed earlier so I gave them a try. It was just a little more cost than my usual in the area. I was greeted quickly and order was easy. Pork teriyaki. It took a while to prepare? Not very busy. But a simple order of two scoops rice, premade salad, and the pork. Portion was ok. Enjoyed the simple salad and dressing. Pork and sauce good but the really thin slices of meat and WAY too much sauce! One on the side would have been better as some places do. Just too much without much more rice. I might go here again but with wait time and price doesn't make sense for a workday lunch sometimes. read more

Solid spot for teriyaki and other Japanese comfort foods! Gotta start off by saying the menu here is huge. I always have trouble coming to a teriyaki place like this because I want teriyaki but end up wanting to order a bunch of different things. I had the bento box and the chicken udon. Bento box was a bit pricy at $18 but did a great job at filling me up. It comes with a good amount of everything - chicken teriyaki, katsu, tempura, gyoza and salad. The katsu was my favorite when I had it fresh and crispy, but the katsu sauce provided could've been better. I wouldn't really recommend their udon. The broth was lacking some flavor and the veggies that comes with it felt out of place. Another thing I'll note is even though I ordered for dine-in, it was still served in a plastic box with plastic utensils. It's a minor detail but I was expecting actual silverware. The staff here is warm and welcoming and it always feels good to support small local businesses like this. If you're in the area and craving some teriyaki or katsu, this is a good pick. read more

A restaurant that understands my spice needs. I ordered their spiciest, stirfry tofu with veggies. Really good spice level (#4 hot!), plentiful tofu, and a wider than usual assortment of veggies. The portion is enough for two meals. I always take half home and I've ordered take-out three times from them. My goto in Renton. read more

I've been to various teriyaki places in the Seattle area - most provide a double helping of salad if you forgo rice and vise versa. I'm disappointed in the least. Three stars instead of two because they were slightly generous portions of meat slathered in sauce (which I love). Service was normal. He wasn't overly happy and helpful, but not mean and grumpy either. This is not going to be my first teriyaki choice when visiting Renton again, but probably not dead last. *side note because I don't know the backstory - a woman called while I was there saying she had gotten raw chicken. Somehow to-go orders does not keep the meal fresh and yummy, preferably I will dine-in. My fav would be the vegetable fried rice goes with bubble tea. I am sitting here trying to figure out how a lunch cost me $13. I have never paid that much at a teriyaki place for lunch. This was my 1st time here and my last I think. I was meeting a friend for lunch and she has a short lunch break being at school. I called the order in ahead of time which was no issue. When we got there, it was a frigging process. Some other students came in from the school to pick up there food which is fine but it seemed to unorganized and uncomfortable. That part steams from when I guess,the owner came out and wanted to know another students name who had came in and claimed she had an allergic reaction to some soup...I don't think that you should give other customers the 3rd degree about that situation, take it up with the person it happened to. On to my food..I had the Katsu and it was super oily and some of the chicken was really tough and dry. The sauce was good, rice was cooked fine. I enjoy this place for the price and convenience. They aren't the best but the quality is about what you'd expect from the price. I don't order meat dishes so can't comment on that but the tofu ones are pretty decent. Do not order the soup. They make it g rah so it can take a very very long time to get it. Pulled off the road today to turn around and decide to try this place after the two positive reviews raved about the food. I would say that this place was a slight step up from the run of the mill teriyaki, but the food could have used more spice and flavor. The menu was large, so you have no excuse to find something that you crave. The service was nothing special, but no one was rude. Based on the lack of flavor, I doubt I would return, but I can tell you that more care went into the meal than you normally see in fast food. I'd say check them out, but based on traffic and location, I don't see this being a hot spot. read more
