I was sent here by Future Hyundai of Concord because my SUV was having some issues. They paid for me to gave a rental. I came here on 3/12 in the morning. I was provided a Elantra vehicle that smelled like nothing but cigarettes all through it. I thought I was bugging aboyt the smell because they have a no smoking signage posted on the dashboard. I only needed the vehicle until Saturday (So I thought).. and I drove away. I never would have imagined that they would give me a vehicle like that, so I did not stress it at that time. However, my wife came home on Saturday and got into the vehicle and she instantly complained about the cigarette smell. Neither of us smoke, so it hit hard. Also, she was pissed because U gave asthma and she did not like the fact that I had been driving around in this vehicle since Thursday. On Saturday, Hyundai decided that they needed more time past Saturday, so they extended the rental. Unfortunately, I texted at 8 am (Not realizing that they open at 9 am) to discuss the extension and cigarette smell. I wanted to exchange the vehicle. No one ever texted me back btw. Unfortunately, I did not get here until 3pm and they closed at 1pm. I had to keep the vehicle until Monday 3/16. Today is Monday and I came them this morning. The rep who answered sounded like he needed to go home because he was not warm nor welcoming. I told him about the cigarette smell and my asthma. I told him that I should not have been given that vehicle. His response was "Are you afraid that you will be charged for it?". Really.. that was his last warmest and understanding response. That truly made me feel not cared for which was what I felt when they gave me this vehicle. It looked best up on the outside and with a full embodied cigarette smell. I felt highly offended, disrespected and ignored. I told him that I would be there by 3:30pm to exchange the vehicle. Honestly, all those that i dealt with on Thursday were white males. I feel that they did not care about me because I'm a black female and Hyundai was footing the bill. When I was there on Thursday, I explained everything I was experiencing with Hyundai messing up my vehicle twice. I deserved some empathy. I was able to speak to a manager, Dillan (Sorry if I misspelled your name). He was kind and understanding. He asked me to explain what happened from Thursday to today. I did. He provided me with a distant vehicle (Much more up to date), clean with hardly any scratches on the outside (Unlike the other one) and it was CLEAN inside (No smell, except their usual nice rental smell). He gave me a full tank of gas for what I experienced he wanted to offer more, but I was not fitting the bill. He was very apologetic and stated that he would indeed look into everything even those that were supposed to have put a smoking vehicle into a different section so it was not given to any client until cleaned throughly. I appreciated that. However, I informed him that they were going to get 2 stars for my review and that I write reviews for both Google and Yelp (Elite & All-Star status). I told them that a custumer should feel great with service from the very beginning. Not when issues arise. I told him that his employees did an awful job with me. My car has been in service on and off for the last three months as long as three weeks for some of the service issues. Each time I have gotten an enterprise car. The service has been great, and everyone of their agents have been very helpful and have empathized with my issue. They also give me rides to the dealership after I have returned the car. Upon return, they showed a slight indentation in the rear wheel area, that either was already there or I did not see when checking. I paid $500 deductible and my insurance picked up the balance on their $2000 claim. They also tried to get my insurance to pay for a broken windshield! which was not true and my insurance refused it. They then turned me over to collection agency TSI for the deductible and I receive dunning mail and threats. Their agent says that she shows my case is closed quite a while ago, but I still get collection letters. Hopefully this is not a deliberate profit center activity on Enterprises' part? read more

I bought a car from the dealership here about 3 weeks ago after my car was stolen. I had a pretty good experience Andrew was my salesperson and he was a tentative and no pressure. I was looking for a nice compact car at a cheap price and I found it. I'm pretty pleased with it so far. It was one of my easier car buying experiences. I bought several over the past several years and this one was smooth then again I'm used to the game. This is the second time I have rented from this location and both times weren't great experiences. The first time, we had the earliest appointment available for pick up and we had to wait outside for 20mins before they opened the doors. The inside of the windows had what looked like kid finger smears all over them and crumbs in the seats. The most recent time, the vehicle smelled like smoke. You also have to go inside and wait in line to return it. A major inconvenience that most rental places don't make you do. It's unlikely that I will rent from this location again. read more

Reserved a car with pick up scheduled for 11am. By 11:15, no pick up and called. Was told driver was en route and would be there shortly. Still hadn't arrived by 11:35 and called again. Was told again the driver was en route and on his way. Spoke to manager, who was curt and told it was a free service and they had lots of customers and he hung up on me. Apparently before the call disconnected the manager heard me say "asshole." By 11:50 the driver still had not arrived so I called for a Lyft. At 11:55 the Enterprise driver called and said he could come pick me up. I informed him it was no longer necessary because Lyft was on its way. Keeping in mind I only lived 10 minutes away I asked the driver how long it would take for him to arrive and he said 10-15 minutes away a couple minutes later the Lyft driver arrived. When I got to Enterprise I was informed my rental had been cancelled. The manager laughed at me and said that three people had come in to rent a truck in the last few minutes. Interestingly enough, in the 30-40 minutes I was there, not one customer came in. I asked if there was the truck I wanted at another office. They told me another office had six of them. I asked if they could drive me over there and the manager said, "no." When I asked why he said it was because I called him an asshole. I then called the other store and was told they did not have the truck. I told the manager and he said they were lying to me. Anyway, I decided to go to the other office and they did not have the truck I wanted. However, they did have another acceptable vehicle and I was in and out of that office in five minutes. read more

Reservation through Progressive Insurance!!! I had a terrible experience at this Enterprise location, and I feel compelled to share it. When I arrived to pick up my rental vehicle, the first representative was on a personal phone call, with the speaker on, and did not acknowledge me at all. After standing there feeling ignored, another gentleman finally asked if I was there to rent a car. He informed me that my reservation was at another location but said he could help me there. He took my driver's license and credit card, processed the paperwork, and then walked away without explaining anything or providing any updates. After waiting for about 10 minutes, another representative approached me to say they had no more cars available. A few minutes later, he came back and offered a pickup truck or a minivan, but I would have to pay $20 more than my insurance would cover. When I declined, he offered me a small vehicle that appeared to be running on a spare tire. I asked if he could call another branch to check for availability, but he told me that wasn't possible and suggested I call myself. I tried but couldn't reach anyone. Frustrated, I went back into the branch, where a female employee finally offered to help by calling the other location for me. Then, the manager, Griffin Medel, got involved. Instead of addressing my concerns or apologizing for the poor service, he rudely asked me to come to his office. He offered to attempt to fix the tire and put a hubcap on the vehicle they were trying to rent to me, but by that point, I had had enough. When I asked him to cancel my reservation so I could rent a car from another Enterprise location, he refused to provide me with transportation to get there. I ended up having to take an Uber home. This was by far the most unprofessional and disrespectful experience I've ever had at Enterprise. After reading similar complaints in Yelp reviews, it seems that this location and its manager, Griffin Medel, have a history of poor customer service. I will never return to this branch, and I strongly recommend that the corporate office step in to monitor and retrain the employees here. read more

I honestly, don't know why this location doesn't have a higher rating. I always have great service here! Maybe going through insurance is more complicated. I've been an established customer with them for some time though with valid drivers license, thus no hassle with the need for additional paperwork other than proof of insurance, when opting out of theirs. Anyway, my review is below: Recently, I had my vehicle go into the shop for a great deal of repairs. I ended up needing to rent a car for 3 weeks. Both Max and Griffen at Enterprise in Concord (next to Sam's Club) really worked with me and gave me great service. I love Enterprise. I've been coming here for years. Much better service than my experience at Hertz (though Hertz has AAA discounts, their service near me typically subpar). Thus, it's worth it to do business with Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Concord. Their team is always extremely helpful and friendly. This last visit however, was beyond exceptional service. I generally don't believe in leaving bad reviews but I'm so disappointed and upset by how they handled things today that I can't help myself. I'll put it in a nutshell: we rented a car for 3 days and my husband went to pick it up today. They gave him the car and told him that the bumper is broken and the alignment is off, which is obviously not ok..so they told him that nothing else is available and charged us more, for a different vehicle. He tried to call me but I was working so he came home. It wasn't the best nor safest vehicle for what we needed so I called them. Explained that we had to pay a lot more than expected but didn't even have a choice on the replacement and that we should have either been given that vehicle for the same price, or a good SUV for the increased price. I was very nice. She was very kind. She told us to come back and that she would take care of us. Gave me her name and I told her my husband would come to her in 15 min. He got there and was told she left for the day. He then was given a different vehicle..STILL not an SUV. And this vehicle was $5 more than what he had come home with to begin with AND a downgrade from what he had come home with earlier. $5 isn't much..but that's not the point. We paid more overall, went twice and the person who said she would rectify the situation left. He had no choice..because at this point, we couldn't have gone anywhere else. We were already delayed by an hour because of the exchange. Just wanted to add: we have rented from this location many times before. They have always been our go-to. Everyone has always been so nice. I'm shocked and very taken back. Now we are stuck with a higher bill and a vehicle that we would have never picked for all the driving we have to do over the next three days. read more

Let me start by saying I've used Enterprise and never experienced service like this at any of their other locations. Today I called to reserve a rental car. Like the last time a couple weeks ago when I booked a reservation I explained to them about my wallet being stolen and I only have a temporary license with my US passport. The branch manager Kaila was having a bad day and I took the brunt of it. To say she was arrogant and rude would be an understatement. Before I even introduced myself and what I was there for she was heavily agitated. When I gave her my paperwork and my passport before I could even explain my situation and reservation she interrupted me telling me we don't accept this. I told her I have used this with Enterprise in the past and just had this same scenario happen two weeks ago and it was approved. She then began to ask me who it was so she could "write them up" (good idea for the kind of manager she is). When I asked for help from customer service she excitingly told me she wasthe manager. The worst feeling as a customer is when you are dealing with a disgruntled manager who is happy to give you bad news and shows zero empathy to your situation. This was Kaila. I will not be going back to Enterprise, especially this one. Any chance I can get to deter someone from using Enterprise I will. This was not ok and no client deserves this treatment. I hope this incident gets looked into and whatever customer support training that's needed is implemented. read more

Enterprise Rent-A-Car - Temporary license requirements - Car Rental Near Me - Concord, California

Booked a vehicle via phone. Agent reassures me the vehicle would be ready to go when I arrived at 4pm. Upon arrival a different agent explained that nothing is completed on the phone and still needed insurance policy number, address etc. told me my address was not the correct one, then asked if I had a phone bill! After finally getting paperwork in order, there isn't a single all wheel drive vehicle available on the lot. I've been here for an hour and still haven't gotten a vehicle. To add to the experience, there was human excrement out front and the lobby where they help you smells like a men's locker room. I will never be back. read more

The real rating is ZERO stars, but that is not an option. I had a rental for a minivan booked for today. Mind you I booked this approximately 1 weeks ago. I called this AM to inquire if I could pick the vehicle 1-2 hours earlier. I was told they were waiting for returns and they had no minivans available. I went and did some errands, went to the location and was informed my vehicle was given to someone else. They said I didn't arrive at the scheduled pick-up time and gave my reserved vehicle to someone else. No call, text or email to see if I was keeping my reservation. I asked staff, nicely at first, of they could call other Enterprise center in the area to see if they had a vehicle that could accommodate at least 6 people. They would not do that. The rep told me he knew the other locations had no vehicles, the best they could do was a Toyota Corolla or similar vehicle. I explained my daughter's family, including two small children were getting on an airplane and expected me to pick them up. All they could say was "sorry" and that's it. At this point I became irate and left, making sure the staff knew what I thought. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE Enterprise. I proceeded to call the Enterprise toll free line. I was assured twice the Regional Manager would contact me immediately. I am still waiting for a call. Sorted out getting my daughter's family a ride from SFO, I scheduled an Uber to pick her up. Tomorrow is a new day and I'll try to get a minivan, but rest assured I won't be calling this Enterprise location and we'll see if anyone else from Enterprise calls me. Again, ZERO stars of it was an option. Do not attempt to use this location, you'll be walking or possibly be leaving someone else depending on you stranded. For the record, I contacted Enterprise this morning (12/27/2024) as requested. It is a chat with an unknown person from corporate. All that was offered was a third response that area management would contact me. It still hasn't happened and I have ZERO confidence it will happen. Final update. It is now about 22 hours since I was first told management would contact me. It never happened, nor did I expect it. My plan B mode was launched this morning. I rented the vehicle I wanted and needed from Avis/Budget located in Walnut Creek. The delivered. If local management wants to contact me, here is my reservation number. On 9/12 my vehicle was in the repair shop and it near the end of business day and I was sent to enterprise. I spent the next hour there figuring out what to do next, due to factors outside of Enterprises control. That was by far time very well spent. I had the opportunity to work with Dillon M., who is an absolute poster child of what customer service truly means, and a living proof of Enterprises family motto. Dillion not only went the extra mile in working with me, his remarkable relationship with the dealership made what would be a painful and frustrating experience, into something that was easy going and effortless. Even with every challenge presented, Dillion found a solution. It is employees like Dillion that keep customers coming back. I hope this feedback makes it way up the chain as far to often do memorable experiences like this go unrecognized. The branch as whole had a great energy and moral, Brandon the manager was also very attentive to all the staff and customers even while the day was wrapping to an end rapidly. When turning car back in Rep asked how I liked the vehicle. Sounds crazy but I did not like it at all, too high tech for me. Was nervous driving it. I went about my day. He must have relayed my feelings to Manager Michaela. She called that day wanting to assure me their goal was customer satisfaction. She went above and beyond making this the only pleasant part of my accident. In all my 41 years, I can honestly say that this was the worst customer experience that I have ever had -- and by a BRANCH MANAGER! It was so bad that it made me decide to never rent from any Enterprise ever again. I rent cars about 6 times a year. When I arrived for my reservation, I was carrying my 3 year old daughter. It was Saturday, 11:30am and almost all car rental places close at noon. I stood at the counter for around 5 minutes (with daughter in arms) while Brannon, (apparently the branch manager) talked very loudly on the phone with another customer for around 5 min and never even acknowledged me the entire time with even a nod, wave, "Hi, this will only be a few more minutes." It was clear from the call he was on that all he cared about was "ratings" -- and he seemed to get them by giving people discounts -- not his award winning personality. If I was enterprise, I'd look into all of the discounts and money that this branch is losing by handing them out like candy. If I was upper management, or corporate, I'd be upset -- it definitely warrants an investigation. Anyway -- -- He was getting off the phone he told the person, "And I'll give you an extra $20 off for a 5 Star rating!" There was actually a fireman waiting for a car in the lobby and he chuckled to himself and shook his head. (I figured he chuckled because Brannon did the same thing for him -- but I don't know). Then Brannon finally greeted me and started to look up my reservation. I gave him my ID, insurance and credit card. The credit card has my wife's name on it -- even though both of our names are on the account. He said it was Enterprise policy that they can't except a card with a different name -- even though I literally rented from them 1 month ago the same way. I had been told that Enterprise actually removed that policy a short time back -- they just make the deductible higher -- Anyway, I gave him my debit card to use -- but I was frustrated, understandably, because it's a work trip and I can't use a credit card everywhere when I travel-- some places still only except cash. So, I was frustrated-- but I wasn't livid, I did not raise my voice, or anything (I mean, my daughter was there for crying out loud). I understood what he was saying, I was just annoyed. So I said "OK, if you honestly can't do anything than please just use my debit card, but it's frustrating and it makes me want to complain." Note -- I did not say complain about him-- I just meant the policy. THEN he suddenly switched personalities and in one sentence, he literally said "I could give you a discount if you use your debit card, or I can refuse renting you if we don't see eye to eye." I was kind of taken back -- here I am, agreeing to use my debit card, holding my daughter (at this point it's been 10 minutes and she is getting heavier and heavier) -- and then he continues "if you're going to complain I don't want to rent to you l, because it will impact my job. You can go somewhere else." I said "no, it's fine, I won't say anything, Im just frustrated, that's all. I won't say anything, I won't complain, just please -- I just ubered with my daughter, my wife is at home with the baby and every rental place closes at 12 and I need to drive to LA tomorrow morning. Please, use my card -- we see eye to eye, I won't say anything or complain." there was literally NO reason not to rent to me! Then he kept doubling down and saying "No we don't see eye to eye." He wouldn't even look me in the eye! Here he is denying me a rental that I had set up the day before simply because he was scared I was going to complain about him! Can you imagine?! I mean, I never raised my voice, I never swore, or anything -- the reason why this guy "turned" was because HE THOUGHT that refusing me a car would make the possibility of a negative complaint go away. But instead, it did JUST THE OPPOSITE! I never would have complained, I was just annoyed about the card because it made no sense to me. I've been a repeat Enterprise customer for over 6 years-- but after the way he treated me and how this impacted me I don't think I'll ever rent from them again! I literally begged him, daughter in hand to please help. I said "why are you doing this?" The interaction scared my daughter, she is 3 and did not understand what was happening. Innocently she said "Why was he rude daddy?" After we had left the lot and I wanted to cry when she said that -- I didn't know how to answer her. I ended up going to a competing place and getting in with 5 min left before 12 -- and maybe it was Karma, but the woman was so nice and helped me get a car. Yesterday October 21, 2025 I had probably one of the worst days EVER. UNTIL I went to Enterprise in Concord California and met with Cushan Johnson an Enterprise employee. I live hours away from Concord, had to drop off my vehicle at a Concord dealership for a factory recall that was scheduled 3 months ago only told they had no loaner car available. I literally had to get on 9 different freeways to get there and I'm a senior citizen so I was stressed to the max. The dealership agreed to cover the rental, Enterprise picked me up FAST and Cushan Johnson turned my day around completely. I'd spent 2 hours at the dealership (nightmare) and felt like I was going to cry. Cushan was so polite, professional, and caring and most of all patient. He saw i was distressed and upset and took the time to calm me, reassure me and make me feel like I was a VIP customer. I love the experience I had at Enterprise in Concord and cannot thank Enterprise enough to having the vision to hire Cushan in joining their team. Honestly I feel he would be great in management. I've been a customer at this location for a while now and rent cars a few times a year for trips to Southern California. A couple weeks ago, I picked up a Nissan Rogue for a trip with my dad for work and to visit family. Everything was going well with our trip until we got knee deep into the Grapevine, when all the lights on my dash went on and a message about engine failure appeared before I lost almost all power to the car. Luckily, I was able to get off the freeway safely. I won't go into the specifics of what happened next, but it was a frustrating series of unfortunate events that lasted about 6 hours. I'm a total introvert and hate being on the phone/calling people/asking for help, but I was so frustrated that I knew I needed to talk to someone, so I called the Enterprise where I rented the car (in Concord). I'm so grateful that my phone call led me to talk to Griffin. He was kind, empathetic, and understanding, and he let me vent about my day while making me feel heard. I was able to pick up a car the next day in Southern California, which worked perfectly for our needs. On day 3 of my trip, Griffin called me just to follow up and check in on me, which was very unexpected but greatly appreciated. After returning my rental back in Concord upon my return, Griffin called me once more to make sure my return trip was successful and smooth. He also went above and beyond to make the situation right. I'm giving this particular experience 4 stars because of the unfortunate incident with the car, but I won't hesitate to give Griffin 5 stars for his exceptional customer service skills. I drove there in the morning to reserve a car for later that day, staff was friendly and told me to make a reservation online with a pickup time and just come back and pick up the car. Took a $15 uber later that day to pick up my reserved car and then was told I need a utility bill and DMV registration to prove I live where I said I live. Obviously didn't have those documents on hand. Ordered up another $15 Uber and went home, missed my appointment in Sacramento. Lame. read more

i cant rate this place enough should be 10 stars , I had to do a deposit like everyone else and there are some verification things that must be completed before you rent a car but Miles at Concord and Walnut Creek stores made it happen made it happen quick and was very reasonable in his requests . ****WORST EXPERIENCE EVER**** I have been a loyal customer here since the day this location opened. Let me start off by how unprofessional these assistant and branch managers are, they are very arrogant and very rude. My family and I recently suffered a very traumatic accident that almost left one of us for dead. We decided to come to concord enterprise after a few months of being carless simply to be treated horrible by assistant manager "Kyla Flueckiger". Horrible personality, very short worded, take it or leave it type attitude, unfriendly and truthfully shouldn't be working the front desk. We decided to walk out and not rent anything from here because why give this place any business after the way they treat their customers. We then proceeded to contact the branch manager by the name of " Griffen Medel" who did not have one ounce of professionalism to the situation. Also very arrogant and rude when explaining our experience at the store. Instead of an apology for such a bad experience he proceeded to say "I will defend the way my employee is"- excuse me?? And this is supposed to be a branch manager? This was after the fact that we expressed to him how much trauma and pain we have suffered almost losing a love one and picking Concord Enterprise to rent our car. No compassion, unapologetic, arrogant, sarcastic and from the sounds of it doesn't care if he has business or not coming in. He refused to give me a name to the person he reports to as he laughed his way off the phone. I will definitely be raising a formal a grievance towards both of these employees. Coorporate needs to investigate them both and be reprimanded for how they treat customers. When asked how long both of them have been managing this store he replied "2 years". It seems this location has a lot of turn overs on managers and something needs to be done. They will never get my business here again as word of mouth goes a long way. I will make sure everyone I know never gives this place another dollar. As a person who's in the car business, Concord Enterprise has now lost all my business and anyone I know who would ever consider renting from them. read more

I have rented from this location several times, and I've always been happy with my experience. The customer service has always been top notch, I've worked with James Lee every time, and I'm always given a reliable vehicle that suits my needs for whatever adventure is in store. The vehicles are always clean, well maintained, and low on miles. I get to pick my coverage for the vehicle, so I know that if anything unexpected happens, everything will be alright. This is the only location I rent from in the East Bay. The selection of vehicles is large, and the people working here make sure you get what you request. This place is worth waiting for a car to become available. Everything is fast and straightforward. They use tablets to make things faster too. People who work here seem happy to be there and like they have a lot going for them too. It would be nice if they had more budget hatch backs. read more

I had a great experience with Jarrod, Michaela and Griffin at this Enterprise location. I dropped in close to closing a few weeks ago after my 2013 car shut down (for good), at the end of a long work day. I just turned the car in this evening, and really appreciate how they all stepped up in their own way to make this extremely stressful time bearable. For someone who has lost faith in the service industry.... I was exceptionally blown away by the care and service provided by Dillon Mercer. Having had a bad stretch of luck... I had to rent a car. I've almost never had a good experience with this... especially in the last years. Dillon was so friendly, and considerate with my situation. I was encouraged to see that people are still 'real' and genuine with service. Truly cannot say enough about this company and Dillons service. After some idiot side swiped my car and knocked my sideview mirror off, I had to put my baby in the shop for a little while. In the meantime, I needed to a temporary replacement to get me from A to Z. I chose Enterprise and they did not disappoint! Everything was handled quickly and professionally. The manager of the store introduced himself and made me feel really comfortable. They didn't try to pressure me with up-selling or upgrading to a fancier car. When I first got there, the selection was limited. I actually didn't like any of the vehicles that they had available. When I saw that a gray Ultima was getting returned, I asked them if could have it. They were quick to say yes and cleaned it up super fast for me. I did my walk through with Matt, and this young man was excellent! He was funny and thorough. A real pleasure to work with! Enterprise has a real gem in him. Give that man a raise immediately! :) The car was clean and operable and delivered to me with a tank full of gas. I had no issues with the vehicle while I drove it. When it came time to return it, it went smoothly. No problems to report and they even shuttled be back to the Auto Body shop. Although the incident that brought me here was tragic, I'm so grateful for the painless experience that Enterprise afforded me. I would definitely use and recommend them again! read more
