    So I'm pretty disappointed with my experience this time around. They're usually pretty good and friendly, clean cars etc. no complaints. But this time around we rented a SUV and the tires were pretty bad, the steering wheel was hard to steer and there was a weird rattling sound coming from the hood, the lady helping us was not very friendly as well. We ended up going back asking to switch out our vehicle which the guys at the return lot were very friendly and apologetic. But when the same lady went to switch us out she was not apologetic at all. She ended up giving us a vehicle that, to us, was pretty dirty for it being a vehicle that had just been cleaned, crumbs everywhere, dust and dirt on the steering wheel. With covid going around that was very disappointing, we just expected something alittle cleaner. thankfully the local enterprise near by our house was more than happy to clean the vehicle for us, even tho we didn't rent from that location (Dyer)-- excellent customer service, wish I had gotten a Vehicle from that location instead. Really am not trying to pin point every small thing, but I would've thought because of covid, they would've taken extra precautious with how they were cleaning/disinfecting the vehicles, especially since we will be driving this vehicle long distance.

    PLEASE READ FULL REVIEW FOR THR HAPPY ENDING: Arrived at 1:10 for 1 pm reservation. We were told there were no cars available and 9 people ahead of us. A woman who had been waiting since 10:30 got her car at 1:37. They get you by having you complete the paperwork "so you are in the system". We may be here forever. Very unhappy. It is now 2 pm and we are nowhere near the head of the queue. UPDATE - not long after I posted this a slew of cars arrived, apparently ferried out from the downtown office. Several management types were suddenly on hand and one even pushed my wheelchair out to the car, giving us "reasons" for the problem all the way. On the fly the counter guy told Spouse he could bring the car back empty and we would not be charged. We will see. When I get home I will follow up with their corporate office as requested below. Car BTW is fine except for a slow leak in one front tire. Which turned out to be slit on sidewall and required a new tire. POST TRIP UPDATE - they gave us free tank of gas (let us return it empty) to compensate for the long wait. Then when we returned the car the attendant told us we would not have to pay for the new tire AND, unasked, he gave us a courtesy discount. I am impressed with their customer service. Changing star rating - because customer service goes a long way with me.

I…read morecalled a few days in advance to confirm they would have the car I reserved (7 pax SUV) and was told by Joselyn "I don't know, I don't have one now, you have to call the day before". Eek, so I call the day before and am told "not sure, we have a minivan but sometimes the airport brings us cars. Call tomorrow". Ugh. I call the morning of my reservation (9:00 am) no answer. I try again at 11:30 am, no answer. I decide to drive to the store. Closed. No one there. No drop box, nothing. At no point did anyone in the store tell me "we close earlier than advertised so come early for your car" even though I called multiple times to confirm and ask questions. It's As a years long Avis preferred member, I'm in shock and of course scrambling for a same-day solution. I would avoid this location at all costs.

The car was new, had a roomy trunk, and great air conditioning, plus a dock for the I-Pod. We pre-paid on a credit card and got a considerable discount, and if one rents at a location other than the airport, no tourist tax. Our concierge, Mr. Romero, did not urge the extra insurance on us or any of the extras. We really appreciated that. Next long trip we might consider the Sirius Radio. Our phones provided the GPS, but I can see where that might be handy. Avis offers an AARP discount too. We returned the car a few hours early and received a credit. Renting from Avis was easy. I loved that I could rent close to my home, and didn't have to go to the airport. Will I rent from them again. Yes.

They all really made sure that I was well taken care of :) ! At first, I actually wanted to rent a brand new white 2023 Toyota Corolla hybrid :) ! I got all of my bags and items into the car and I was ready to check out when I noticed that it didn't seem to take my USB charging cord. I read the manual to make sure I didn't miss anything. Finally, I asked one of the male employees, who pointed out to me that the newer rental cars now only have the USB-C ports (and not the regular USB ports anymore). He said I would need an adapter to be able to charge my device on this new car. I was dismayed because I actually really wanted to try out the new 2023 Toyota Corolla hybrid. But I only had the regular USB charging cord :( . The National male employee was really nice and pointed out some other rental cars, such as a burgundy Nissan Altima, that would allow me to charge since they still had the regular USB port. So I rented the Nissan Altima instead :) ! It still served me really well and I was still really happy that the Altima got me around town :D ! Upon returning the Altima yesterday at the conclusion of my trip, the employee who checked my return was really efficient, and also really friendly and courteous :) ! I will definitely rent National again in the future for future trips :) ! Their cars are very polished and so clean :D ! I was pretty happy overall with both the exceptional customer service and the awesome quality of the available car rentals :) !

    This updated review was for a trip in April 2022…read more Back in good ol El Paso. We arrived on a Friday afternoon and for us in National Elite, there was a bunch of really nice cars. My now fiance chose the jeep for us and our friends to ride in. Quick check in and quick return this time around. I would highly recommend national if you dont want to sit in a parking garage in the desert waiting on the other slow companies

    Reviewing the process, not the people…read more Avis Budget group in El Paso...even the Avis Preferred service sign is covered up..at e because they know they cannot offer the level of quality promised by the service . The line moved through the customers at a consistent rate of about 8min per customer, but when you're the fifth person that adds up to 40min wait just to pick up a car...yikes. They even had two agents here. The agents were honest enough...even after the wait in line, they stated they were understaffed and that the car would be ready in 30min. If I were in a rush, I would not like to be time compromised by a rental car company. Also, and this one is on me, I selected this company as it was connected to my Southwest Airlines ticket...but the value even with a $200 hold was outrageous for a three day stay. Tip: Shop around.

They finally hear back and I'm told where to go to get the car and it should be ready in an hour or so. They don't get how this happens when you don't have a reservation. I will never rent from Budget, Avis, or what other companies are part of that group. Time is money and they expect us to pay for their failings
