after several years of successful car rental w/ Enterprise Rent a Car it felt only natural when we retired to the desert to chose them to use for our recent vacation rental. We live between Palm Desert & Indio so when I made the reservation 30 days before our scheduled departure, we chose Indio as it was actually a bit closer to our home. We needed and reserved a Large SUV to facilitate our passengers and cargo. Two days prior to our departure date we drove to Indio to confirm our reservation. The young lady did confirm both the reservation and rate and told us that they opened @ 9am on Sat. There was no mention that we had to be there at opening time. We arrived at 10:20 am and was told that because we weren't there at 9, our reserved vehicle was already rented. I have to admit was angered by the news. A manager stepped in to inform that they waited until 10 am before they rented to a walk-in customer. They offered no alternative for us. I displayed my anger again and asked why they didn't call to alert me of the situation. (They had all my contact info). He said he was too busy to do that on a Saturday. At 10:20 there were 2 other customers in the store. The thing that made me most angry was his apathy, he just didn't care. I cooled down when the young lady whispered,"I'm sorry". I asked her if she would check with the Palm Desert location to see if they had an appropriate vehicle; they didn't. She then called Cathedral City and they said they had several and would hold one for me. the C. C. staff were polite and accommodating and we left for our vacation by 2pm. Unless you want apathetic, rude, treatment please stay from this location. I hope someone in Enterprise's customer service staff reads this and acts. They're a great company and deserves more from their employees. , read more

let me just share this... BASICALLY THEY HAVE ALL THESE HIDDEN FEES THAT THEY DIDNT TELL YOU OR SHOW YOU ON YOUR RENTAL AGREEMENT BUT WHEN YOU ARE DROPPING OFF THE CAR THATS WHEN THEY SHARE. But we did ask ahead time these questions and they said no but then stated something different. This place was rude and to be honest, we have rented from enterprise for the last 5 years and rent a car from them 3-7 times a year.. I will be looking for a new place to rent a car for my trips. And my parents have rented from them all the way back from 2001 and never had any issues. The employees here aren't knowledgeable in the guidelines or the cars they rent. When checking in to get a car, I over heard a conversation of how this guys reservation was never made, but had the confirmation email.. so they had to start his all over. I'm giving it two stars because the car we had was a very good one. If it wasn't for that, if I was able to give no stars, it would have no stars. This has been most AWFUL experience ever dealing with an Enterprise branch!!! My son and I broke down in Indio and were towed to a mechanic to have our car looked at at. I am trying to get to Arizona because my sister is due to have her baby any minute! My mother in law helped to have a car reserved for me at Enterprise in Indio, which she was informed would be held until 5:30 and someone would be calling me to come pick me up. While my mother in law assisted me in getting my card (that's on file at Enterprise) loaded with enough money for a weeks car rental I was waiting patiently in the lobby of Firestone for Enterprise to call or come pick me up. No one ever called or came for me. I called Enterprise around 4:30 and they informed me that they had given my car away because I never showed up to pick it up. The man I spoke with I believe his name was Alec, told me all he had was an SUV for $25 more a day. My budget was set aside for the weeks rental of a 4-door sedan, which included the hold fee). They never apologized for not calling or picking me up, they did not even attempt to understand or offer assistance. Of course, eventually the branch stopped answering their phones because it was now 5pm. I ended up having to rent a hotel room next door to Firestone, which cut into my car rental budget. Now it is August 27 and I still have no chance of a rental, my sister is in labor and my 6 year old son and I are stranded in Indio. I called Palm Desert to rent a car from them, but they do not pick up (a mere 9 miles away). I called the Indio Enterprise who failed in assisting me yesterday and they wont know if they have any vehicle I can afford until sometime around 4 PM. Which means I will have to rent another night at the hotel, seeing as checkout is in 2.5 hours! The lack of customer service and respect for delicate situations is horrendous. And the fact that Indio Enterprise never called me once, not even before they gave my car away (early!), is disturbing! Our hometown Enterprises are INCREDIBLE and it's the reason my family always chooses Enterprise, even in times of emergency such as what I am currently experiencing. Clearly, however this is no longer the case. I am disappointed they could not even honor the original price for a larger car that was in stock, seeing as how they gave my reserved car away! Best Enterprise in the valley. The team that works here really try hard to make people happy. Every one of them is courteous and efficient.

Reservation was for 9 am, they did the paperwork showing the car being picked up at 9 am, then told us it wasn't ready that it was having an oil change and it would be another 15 minutes. It took 30 minutes for the car to show. We were delayed and of course had to return the car at 9 am pee the rental agreement read more

I've always had a great experience renting from Enterprise in Indio. They have always been friendly & helpful. For example, when I went to return my rental after 5 days they told me since I was paying the weekly rate I could keep the car for two more days for no additional cost. I was able to keep the car for Thanksgiving & drive to my sister's house! read more

I didnt even get to experience the actual service because natalie left me on hold for 11 minutes. Terrible. A normal customer service rep. Gets back to the call, reports current situation whether being busy or etc. Then grabs my number and asks whether id like a returned call due to short staff and or a busy situation or to keep holding on. But nope, natalie didnt care. Natalie wanted to keep the customer on hold and waist my time. Thank you for the aweful customer service. Ill make sure to make others aware of it. read more

We have rented from Indio Enterprise for several years. Usually for a 1 way rental into LAX, but occasionally when our car is in the shop. This location is great on customer service and has never failed to meet my expectation for an affordable rental. We highly recommend them. It beats driving my own car into LAX and paying for parking. Dropping the car off is a breeze and a quick shuttle over to the airport. read more

My experience with this location has not been good. The last time was worse than usual. The car was not there when it was supposed to be and I had to come back the next day. I am never really satisfied at this location and the car is never ready when it's supposed to. I am giving them one last chance but am not hopeful. Extremely filthy car! It looked like they had 25 kids living in the car for a month. Stuff on the steering wheel, console, and everywhere. My husband picked it up at dusk and really didn't look at the inside. Oh my goodness!!! Cigarette burns, ketchup stuck to the seat, trash and dirt on the floor, and every seat was stained with something... The doors had grime and feet prints! I had to sit on a towel just to be safe! Need I go on... Who does business like this??? No way would I ever recommend this store... I have rented from the Palm Desert Store and the cars were always clean. We rented a car from the Indio location to drive to LA. The first car they brought us was so disgustingly dirty inside, we wouldn't even get in it. The interior was a light tan and there were stains everywhere. It also smelled of vomit. We asked for a different car so they brought us one with darker interior, but it was also filthy. There were brown splatter marks on the ceiling and dog hair on the seats. The employees were pleasant, but the cars were horrible. read more

I have been renting cars from Enterprise for 3 years now. I have always been in and out, and have never had a problem with any of the cars I have rented. I usually rent on Fridays and although they are very busy, they try to get to you as soon as possible to make your wait as minimal as possible. read more

I've rented a few times here, all my times here have been good except for today. I couldn't believe how rude Octavio was, kept talking over me when I was trying to speak. Actually told me how lucky I was cause rent rates have just come down from $80 a day, I've been renting over a couple years so knew that wasn't accurate information. I looked online at enterprise rates on their site so I knew what price ranges were was hoping I could get a better rate if I went in. No it was more expensive, I asked if it would be cheaper if I made reservation online. he said could be, I was treated like a complete nuisance. He also made sure to tell me that if I rented one of their vehicles through another company that they would make me purchase that companies insurance and that Enterprise doesn't care about that insurance that they will come after me for any damages not the insurance company. The way it was explained was extremely rude. Still giving three stars because all my other experiences have been good, unfortunately this person really upset me, still need my rental but will not be doing it with this location. read more

Over the course of the past two-plus years the need has arisen on several occasions to rent from this location. They have consistently proven attentive with a vehicle always available. During the end of this past December I once more rented from them and upon entering found all of the staff except one working with other customers. Upon observing me waiting in line, that one attendant arose from his desk despite having just started lunch and began to work with me. Moments later a woman by the name of Emily, whom I later learned is the Manager of the location, stepped in to relieve that clerk and handled my transaction. As always it proceeded smoothly and Emily proved most pleasant. Their consistency has always been a pleasure to encounter and management appears to have effectively with her team the tenant of customer service. read more

On average I rent a car once per month from this location. The service is exceptional. The staff are very friendly and empowered to provide exceptional customer service. I will continue to rent from this facility. read more

Place is very disorganized, and not structured at all. They take too long and I don't think I'll be renting with them again.
