I'm shocked I am writing a review for an Enterprise rental car place but this place is fantastic. Without going too much into my issue I spent days trying to secure a minivan with various rental car places in the JFK and LGA areas. It was a miserable experience, trying to get people on the phone or even going in in person and trying to get service from these locations. I was frequently met by rude customer service people who didn't exhibit any awareness that I'm trying to pay them for a service. This Enterprise location was different and possibly the best rental car experience I've ever had in my life anywhere. Everyone was super nice and attentive and they made sure I had the manager's contact information should I need anything. While the employees are fantastic, I think it comes down to the manager. He/They are just great. I would recommend this above any rental car location at any New York airport. Indeed I would recommend this above any rental car location anywhere. read more

I used this enterprise location to drop off a rental car from another city. IT is tough to enter the return center. The staff is very friendly and courteous. They don't rush and everything is organized well on the return process. After returning it is very easy to catch the air train. On July 19th I called the enterprise customer service for assistance with a vehicle that I was already in. I rented from Leesburg VA so that I can pick up my family in NY. On my way to NY I realized that the horn on the vehicle was not working. I was told that the JFK location had availability for a swap. When I arrived at the JFK location, I alerted the representative the reason why I would like to swap. I was sent to the front desk to speak with a manager. I waited for some time, then finally Gabi (Gabrielle) came to "help" me. I explained all mentioned above regarding the safety issue and that I was told to go there for a swap. Without checking inventory, Gabi immediately started telling me that there were no available vehicles, but she will check. She then said that there were flight delays and everything (cars) is already booked. Gabi then left to see if she had a vehicle and came back. She said that all she had was a Hyundai Elantra. I was currently in a Hyundai Tucson, which would've been a downgrade. I was initially willing to take it based on the safety issue with the Tucson, but that changed quickly. I saw the vehicle and I immediately felt like I wasn't a valued customer. To think that Gabi would even recommend a vehicle that seemed like it should be at the service center. The car was filthy, smelled like cigarettes, and had a hole in the driver's seat. She said that all issues with the car was annotated, but I can take pictures for myself. I couldn't accept that vehicle because I have a six year old and I don't smoke. I would hate to smell that much less my child. When I mentioned my observations to Gabi, she repeated that she had no vehicles. It is HIGHLY unprofessional for a so called manager to choose a possible customer over someone who is already in one of the company's vehicles and brings a safety hazard to your attention. It's possible that some of those same reservations could've cancelled, but it didn't matter to her. Gabi saw an opportunity for her location to acquire an upgraded vehicle for one that was near to be de-fleeted. The fob didn't even have a tag attached with the year, make, and model. By far the worst experience and feeling I've ever had as a customer of Enterprise. Shame on you "Gabrielle"! You should be retrained. I went back to VA with the same vehicle I initially rented. I just took my time heading back trying my best to avoid situations where I might need to use the horn. It was terrible! Thanks to the guys at the Leesburg location, they expressed sincere apologies for the situation and made up for the experience. Gabi should go back to the drawing board regarding customer service. We booked early and ahead of time, and thank goodness we did. The holiday rush can make it difficult to book car rentals last minute. Due to availability and a lack of inventory during the holidays, the vehicle size we originally reserved wasn't available, so we were forced to upgrade or downgrade. In our case, upgrading cost us an extra $10. It worked out well, and we were able to rent a slightly larger car, which was fortunately brand new. The employee who helped us was very professional, friendly, and patient, despite the late hour. We really appreciated her help after a very long international flight. Finding the Enterprise desk was fairly easy. It's right off the Federal Circle light rail track. A bit difficult to get to if you have a lot of luggage or traveling with special needs because of the light rail's large gap and snail-paced elevators. Keep in mind the roads in and out of JFK aren't always the easiest to drive on either. There's a lot of construction, and drivers tend to be more aggressive, probably due to the close proximity to NYC. Drive safely! read more

Refused to rent me a car after I said I'd leave a bad review. I booked a one-way rental through Expedia (JFK pickup, 10pm) to drop off in Vineland, NJ the next morning. Nothing in the Expedia booking mentioned a $400 deposit for local residents -- I only found out when I arrived at the counter at 10pm after already making travel plans around this reservation. When I calmly expressed frustration about the undisclosed fee, the agent became slow and dismissive. He then asked if I was traveling to Canada -- completely irrelevant to a NJ drop-off clearly stated on my reservation. When the manager got involved, I told her I was unhappy and would be leaving a negative review. Her response? She flatly told me she would refuse to rent me the car. That's not customer service -- that's retaliation against a customer for exercising their right to share feedback. When I attempted to take a photo so I could document who I was dealing with, she threatened to call the police. I left without a car, stranded at JFK at 10pm, with a prepaid reservation and nowhere to go. This is a consumer protection issue. I've already called Enterprise corporate. Do not book this location if you're a local New York customer -- you will be hit with undisclosed fees and treated like a problem, not a paying customer. read more

This was hands-down the best car rental experience we've ever had and we've rented a lot of cars over the years. The service was incredible. Jacqueline and Maria were both so helpful, kind, and extremely efficient. We were in and out faster than expected, and they made the whole process smooth and stress-free. I've been a loyal Enterprise renter for years and just had yet again, had another fabulous and seamless rental experience with them. In an industry full of varying options and experiences to say that least, Enterprise stands out head and shoulders above their competition with amazing customer service, fair pricing and outstanding vehicles. I had the pleasure of renting with them this past weekend and was given a beautiful Dodge Ram 1500, which blew my mind. It both drove and looked great. Even being as robust as that truck is, it had a very respectful MPG and also navigated turns and corners quite well. I have to commend Ashley on their team. At the end of the rental, she gave a direct call regarding a ding that was on the car prior. She asked if I did a walkaround and took pictures and gave me a direct email to send them to, which made the process so easy. As someone who has had literally over 10,000 phone calls in my previous career, I like to think I'm somewhat of a phone expert. Her tone, demeanor and approach was as calm, professional and polite as they come! Matter of fact, from the person who checked me in, to the people walking around, their whole team was a pleasure to work with. This time the rental was not as great as my previous rentals. Got a 2023 Nissan Sentra with almost 28K miles on it. The tires were under inflated, all 4 tires were around 29/30 when it should have been 33 psi so I had to had air after leaving the airport. The backseat was dirty as well. read more

Budget Car Rental I rented car from this stupid company. They are the worse car rental company I have ever seen. I picked up the car October 5 , 2025 at 6:00AM .Return the car a day early October 6 , 2025 . Around 6:00PM .I had to pay for a half tank of gas. This stupid company charged me $574.22 for 2 days. When called to complain the stupid customer person told me I was not getting any kind of refund for bringing the car back a day early. I will rent a car from this stupid company again!!! read more

Have literally had smoother experiences renting cars in third world countries. Far from airport, difficult to find, poorly labeled. Ramshackle setup that looks temporary but don't be fooled - it's been like this for years! Worst though after this rough around the edges experience is seeing the bill with literally hundreds of dollars of junk fees tagged on. This is, by the way, with refusal of gas services, insurance and all the other gimmicks they attempt to upsell. Shameful. Just be honest and upfront about the prices. Do not recommend. read more

Had to pay the additional because I was having back surgery and would not be able to return the car easier to the less expensive location. The customer service experience is just embarrassingly bad. You cannot, under any circumstances, talk to a live person on site. I was rerouted to their larger customer service 7 different times. I followed every channel. What are you supposed to do in an emergency? Why have channels or protocols if nobody follows up? Customer service will lie to you and say they will pass a message along that will not get through. Gave me the car at night with no inspection. Microscopic mark near the rear tire was written up upon return. Gas was at 90% but expected to be returned at 100%. Finally, I asked an employee what the policy was regarding a NY parking ticket and caught a ton of attitude. Very rude. read more

Your best choice for a rental car in NYC, conveniently located at JFK Airport. Simply take the Air Train here from your terminal. I've even come here from the city to rent a car, because prices are significantly lower than at the metropolitan locations. The staff are friendly, the cars are well maintained, and service is top notch. My husband and I recently rented a car from this location to drive to upstate NY, and the process was seamless. We were in and out of Enterprise in under 10 minutes with a nice new Chevy Malibu. Return was just as easy. We have rented trucks from this location in the past as well. We came from a red eye flight and they were all extremely helpful and very friendly to us. They explained all of the car options and benefits regarding toll road fees, insurance, coverage, and refueling upon return. Additionally they gave us advice on where to go and how to get there. Specifically for my BFFs Ryan and Pauline (sorry Ryan and Pauline, my link to leave a review with Enterprise expired so I am leaving it here in hopes you get the raises and promotions and keys to the executive bathroom that you deserve) I landed at JFK and went to pick up the rental car around 10:30pm. My 18 month old daughter managed to lock herself inside the rental with the keys inside. Ryan was super helpful in finding Pauline to help out. They both spent so much of their time trying to get the door open and reassured me that they would get it open, even though I was ready to break the window and just buy them a whole new car. After about 45 minutes of teamwork they got the door unlocked. YOU WERE BOTH ANGELS! Might I recommend that Enterprise consider keeping a spare key behind the front desk. read more

The team at JFK did an AMAZING job yesterday afternoon. I managed to leave my laptop in a rental which my husband returned on Saturday evening. We filed the missing property report but went back to JFK yesterday, praying that the car was still on the lot and the cleaning team had simply missed the laptop, which was in a black case and probably fell under the seat. Tanya and Sonia were incredible, not only locating the car we'd rented but ascertaining, after a while, that indeed, the laptop was still in the car! Can you imagine how happy they made me when they told me they'd found it? I'm still in awe that this story ended happily and thrilled this is the way I'm starting my New Year. Malcolm was courteous and efficient, after a long flight from SFO he was quick to go through disclosures and lead us to our vehicle. He saw that we were a family of 5 and Malcolm was amazing and upgraded us to a larger vehicle. This of course doesn't always happen but even without the upgrade he was super friendly. Not only did I have to pick up my rental at a facility where the employees did NOT enforce the mask policy (which you have a sign saying you enforce on the door) nor did they care to wear the masks themselves; after filing a complaint for this, a rep called me from the facility at 930p on a Saturday evening. None of this is professional. I was told I would receive a day off my rental, but that is not reflected on the invoice. Plus, we really like Enterprise, but feel we should receive something more in regards to more money off our rental or future possible rental. I have been with Enterprise for years and never had any problem renting or billing issues. I guess there is always first time for everything but I don't expected on my vacation. I was helped by the manager, Dwayne and being told I would get free upgrade car since it was my birthday .But out of 4 SUV, two of them wasn't working and one upgraded SUV was dirty with lots of dog's fur. Apparently they don't clean car before showing it to customer and expect that I would take the car as it was with no washing. I refused to have dirty car while I'm planning to have my baby nephew inside the car. So I took my original reservation and being told that EZ PASS white box only $3.95 / day with total of $19.75 for the whole reservation. Little did I know that the toll charges would be separate and I only pay the empty EZ Pass white box . Since the manager didn't explain it clearly, I thought I only pay $19.75 for the EZ Pass includes any toll charges. The whole 5 days inside the car smelled awfully fishy, so I had to get car air freshener for my rental car. I returned the car and complained about it. The SUV obviously need service and someone failed to maintain the service . Either the antifreeze leaked through the heater or air filter needs to be changed ASAP before it cause accident on customer. The guy gave small discount for my inconvenience and said everything was "all set "and I would get charged according to the receipt that he gave me. Little did I know that 10 days after that, Enterprise charged my credit card for $34.28 without any notice of letter, email or phone call courtesy about the charge. When I called about the charge, the guy told me " you have to pay the toll charges since you used the EZ Pass." I asked why Enterprise didn't send any notice or letting me know about the charge and charging my credit card WITHOUT authorization. He couldn't answer it and apologized knowing what I said was true. I really disappointed how Enterprise in NYC handle customer service. Enterprise should upgrade their customer service considering that it is a major part of their business. I told the guy in Enterprise customer service supervisor that it is illegal to charge without customer knowledge just because it is convenient that they have credit card file , they just charged it without notice. I did NOT sign for EFT charge nor authorization to charge after I already got charged. Beware of UNAUTHORIZED charges from this location !! Ask carefully what you reserve and check your receipt!! This review was meant to be a pre-covid review that occurred in November of 2019. We arrived early and were pretty tired and just wanted to get a car and get going to the hotel we had booked upstate - and my wife was pregnant and not necessarily in the best moods leading up to it. The staff there were pleasant, had an awesome report with one another, and great senses of humor. It was a pleasant enough experience that although the line was a little long - it seemed to pass quickly. As it turned out they still allowed us to pick up the car early and without an extra charge. We really did appreciate the amazing customer service and I just wish I remembered the ladies names during our visit (It was literally over a year ago). We had a little issue with dropping the car off but they didn't charge me for it (I accidentally kept a spare key but mailed it back promptly) although they certainly had the right. This is my favorite place to rent a car. I live near JFK airport so it's convenient just take their free shuttle bus to free air train then transfer to the Q10 bus to home. Pick up was a breeze, but the drop off was even better* faster. They have all new, clean cars all types, affordable prices. Check to make sure if your credit card has car rental protection if not you can purchase at counter. I highly recommend this enterprise. They have friendly, pleasent staff. I am extremely disappointed in this company. I rented a car and took video footage before leaving the rental lot to ensure that I had proof of the damage on the car before renting it. I always take a video of the cars before renting them. After I returned the car a few days later I'm notified that I'm being charged for damage to the rental car. The same damage on the car was there before I even left the lot. They DO NOT check the cars well and then want to charge anyone for damage without doing their due diligence. They are scamming people at this location. They need to be investigated by their corporate offices. This was also the case with one of my mother's car rentals at the same location. She was charged for damage that had previously been done to her rental before she rented the car. Unfortunately she did not take video of the car before renting it and had to pay the amount even though she didn't do the damage. This is outrageous!!! read more

You better be 100% sure your flight doesn't get delayed or Enterprise will leave you stone cold without any help at 2 am. Go with Hertz or Avis if you think you will be late. Pandemic is an excuse for zero customer support. We made reservations months ago. Now we have to go to Avis and pay almost triple because where else are you going at 3 am in Queens?. There is zero public transit at that hour to westchester and you will be stuck, like we were, trying to get a Lyft with thousands of people. Good times. read more

I use Enterprise quite often and have never had a 5-star experience so i was astonished that an Enterprise in New York area could so. I used this location as a drop off only as I picked up the car in New Jersey and drove to New York. I pulled into the lane to drop off and was greeted by the delightful Joquan. While I gather my belongings in the car, Joquan got my bags out of the trunk. I have never had a car rental agent retrieve my bag and I travel almost weekly. After a quick check-out, Joquan pulled my bag to the shuttle and placed it on. He thanked me and wished me a great day. Wow! What an experience. The shuttle bus driver was also extremely pleasant joking and laughing with his passengers. All other Enterprise Rental Cars should follow suit. Bravo!!! read more

Rented a dodge caravan minivan for a week long trip in the long island-nyc area last week of June 2019. Everyone I interacted with at this enterprise was super friendly. From Sean who set me up with the car to Shaq who collected my car. I'm a NY native and it was kinda jarring... in a surprisingly good way. Arrived on a redeye at 8am on saturday and was in and out with the minivan in about 10 minutes. It took longer to get to the enterprise than to sign out the car. Returned the car on a Tuesday around 4pm and was waiting for the air train within 10 minutes of driving up to enterprise return. Again, getting to the terminal took way longer than returning the car. We did have an issue where the mini van smelled like cigar smoke. Shaq the manager was able to help us out and everything worked out great! Definitely will look to rent from enterprise again. read more

I had a great experience renting from this location! Flew into JFK late one evening exhausted from the 7 hour flight. Luckily, I was greeted by several staff members that worked here and everyone was trying to be helpful and make the process easy for me. I was informed of some available upgrade options and they were surprisingly very reasonable, so I ended up renting a very swanky SUV with heated seats for just a small amount more. I had it for the entire week and it was a wonderful ride. The return process was equally pleasant, and all the staff went out of their way to be helpful. Smooth, friendly, efficient service here at the JFK Enterprise-Rent-A-Car! Took the air train from our terminal where we transferred to their free shuttle bus to their store location. Once inside, we were immediately greeted and offered bottled water. Our rental info was located and confirmed without any incident and we were led by another pleasant worker out to their garage where he gave us a choice of which car we wanted! (Within what we booked for of course). The first car seemed good enough and we started storing our luggages when we noticed a faint smell of cigarette smoke coming from inside. We raised this issue and we were able to switch cars no problem. At the end of our trip, we simply drove back and pulled up outside in a long line of other cars being returned where an employee approached to sign us out. Yelpers BEWARE. These guys WILL ding you for completely inconspicuous and pre-existing bumps if you fail to notice them at the time of your pickup. As an update to my earlier review - we received a claim form from Enterprise (overnight delivery by FedEx btw) for the "bump" described earlier. Exact same M.O. as described by another Yelper a few months earlier. We will be fighting this all the way to the top if necessary. Do a THOROUGH inspection of your vehicle - including for inconspicuous "bumps" at the bottom of your vehicle before driving off with it. read more
