I had an extremely frustrating experience returning my rental with Enterprise. I drove two hours to Sacramento specifically to return the vehicle after being told there would be an after-hours drop box. As I was approaching the location, I called to confirm before they closed, only to be told they did not have a drop box and that I would have to come back the next day. I asked if another nearby Enterprise location had an after-hours drop box. The employee put me on hold and then never came back to the call. I waited over 12 minutes before finally hanging up. To make matters worse, when I picked up the vehicle, it only had about 70% of a tank of gas. The employee told me their iPad could only record it as full and assured me that if I mentioned it at drop-off, I would receive the appropriate fuel credit. That credit was never applied. Since Enterprise was unable to help, I had to locate another Enterprise location in Sacramento with an after-hours drop box on my own and return the vehicle there that evening. After the return, I never received a phone call, email, or receipt confirming the vehicle had been checked in or explaining my final charges. I then had to pay for a 25-minute Uber to get to the body shop because of the unnecessary delay and inconvenience. Overall, this experience was completely avoidable. I was given incorrect information about after-hours returns, left on hold without anyone returning to the call, not credited for the fuel discrepancy that Enterprise acknowledged at pickup, and received no follow-up after returning the vehicle. I expected much better communication and customer service from a company of Enterprise's size and reputation. read more

I rented a Tahoe (premium suv) from the Rancho Cordova location for my daughter's long-awaited 10th birthday trip. The problems started immediately when the vehicle smelled strongly of urine. I was promised a replacement and a call from the manager that same day, but no one ever called. The following evening, the Tahoe developed serious mechanical problems. The climate control became stuck blasting 78-degree heat, and multiple warning lights illuminated on the dashboard, indicating safety system issues. Roadside assistance directed me to the airport location and assured me a comparable SUV would be available. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I was initially offered a Nissan Rogue, which was nowhere near comparable to a Tahoe and far too small for our family and luggage. After waiting about 30 minutes, I was offered a Pathfinder, but it still wasn't equivalent to what I had reserved or paid for. During my wait, I watched larger SUVs become available, but an employee told me they weren't available because I "wasn't a customer of the airport location." I was also told that my need for a larger vehicle was simply a "preference," which came across as dismissive and unprofessional. Because of the vehicle issues, our trip was delayed. What should have been a special birthday celebration became stressful, costing us both time and additional expenses. I was forced to go back to the Rancho Cordova location in hopes of a comparable vehicle. One was found within about an hour of waiting at the location. Unfortunately, despite requesting multiple manager callbacks throughout the rental, no one contacted me. The communication problems only continued after I returned the vehicle. I disputed incorrect billing that increased my reservation by nearly $400 and was repeatedly told that a manager would call me back. Over the course of several weeks, I made multiple calls to customer service, was promised callbacks by branch management and regional management, and never received any of them. Eventually, after locating the branch's direct number myself and stating I would escalate the matter further, the manager finally called. I was told nothing could be done except offering one complimentary rental day in the future. My request for a partial refund was denied. The manager was able to email my invoice immediately, despite the fact that I had never received one when my rental closed and had repeatedly requested it. The most frustrating part wasn't just the dirty vehicles, the mechanical failure, or even the billing concerns. It was the complete lack of communication and empathy. I was repeatedly promised callbacks that never happened. At one point, I was told internal notes showed attempts had been made to contact me, yet my phone records show no missed calls from Enterprise. This raises concerns over ethical behavior and adherence to legal requirements with rentals in California. I'll never rent with Enterprise again. read more

Flew in from LA to pick up a car my boss reserved for me till Monday. Arrive in an Uber to find out they have no inventory. I showed them our reservation and they stated if it was done in the same day they can't guarantee it. I asked them where in the fine print does it show that and the Manager stated, where it says subject to availability. I wouldn't of taken a Lyft to pick up a car here if that was the case and could of just grabbed something from the airport. Not only was she rude and direct about it but she acted like she could give two shits. Decided to take another Lyft to pick me up and take me back to the airport to get a car. So frustrating and inconvenient. Learn how to hire employees that have a better customer service. She was more concerned about Argentina winning the World Cup game than to willing to work with me. Never again. Can't wait to pull out my laptop and spread this review elsewhere. read more

I made a reservation with Enterprise back in July for an October trip. When I showed up to pick up my car, the manager told me they didn't have my reservation-even though I had the confirmation email right in front of me. She didn't apologize, didn't seem to care, and basically told me to "call around" to find something else because they didn't have the van I had booked. Instead, she offered me a small Civic, which obviously wasn't going to work since I needed a van to drive two hours to the airport with a lot of luggage. What really frustrated me was how little effort she put into helping. She didn't try to look into it, didn't offer alternatives, and acted like it wasn't their problem. I had to insist, multiple times, that they call other locations to find a replacement. Only after pushing hard-and raising my voice so everyone could hear-did they finally start making calls. Not once did anyone apologize. For this to come from the manager made it even worse. I've rented from Enterprise before without issues, but this experience completely changed how I see the company. If you book here, double-check everything and be ready to fight for your reservation, because apparently confirmation emails don't mean much. I do not recommend this location to anyone. read more

I had a confirmed reservation for a compact, but when I arrived they claimed none were available and tried to upsell me $75 for a bigger car. When I refused the bait-and-switch, they pressured me, then the manager flat-out denied me a rental. I walked in limping from an Achilles injury, I'm a disabled veteran and an autism father, and had just sold my car while waiting on the deposit to clear before buying a new one. I even started the conversation by sharing how thankful I was to get a rental -- then the bad stuff started. Instead of basic decency, I got arrogance, manipulation, and a condescending "have a nice day" on the way out. Corporate later admitted I was right and rebooked me cheaper at another branch. This location is disgraceful. I don't ask for special treatment, but I do share my situation when things are going south in the hope that people will at least show some decency. These people didn't care at all. At least they called me an Uber, but I literally wobbled out to it right after that smug "have a nice day." If you ever need a rental vehicle, you'd be better off building yourself a Flintstone car out of toothpicks and a cardboard box and painting racing stripes with nail polish -- because this place is absolute trash. read more

Be aware. I returned the vehicle and the Enterprise agent claimed there was damage on the hood that was hardly visible. It looked like a water mark. The agent insisted it was damaged. He then said he would request photo/video at the cleaning station showing the mark was not there prior to renting. This was never provided. Our credit card paid for the damage in full but I do not recommend renting from here. If you do, make a video while you do a walkthrough with the agent present for your protection. I had purchased a car from here a few months ago and I wanted to come back and share my experience. I appreciate this location because I was able to set up an appointment, same day at a time that worked best for me. I knew prior to arrival it was between either a Mazda or a Toyota. My sales rep Chris knew all the ins and outs about both vehicles. He test drove them with me and made sure we did a thorough inspection of each vehicle and determined which was a better fit for me. I went with a Toyota. He was quick to get me in with Graham to get my financing taken care of. I am so grateful for this experience because these guys know details of the cars. I had been to other dealers and the salesmen didn't know any information on the cars but these guys did so that's what really helped me make my decision. Graham was able to get me a good deal with my car and explained every single step. They had excellent customer service. There is a scratch on my car and they did offer to take care of that for me as well. I will recommend this location to others because these gentleman took care of me and made sure I understood every part of the process. Thank you Rancho Cordova Enterprise sales team! You guys are great! I do want to say I truly appreciate you guys getting me in same day. I tried a few attempts to go into other locations but they did not have the time to help me but you guys helped me same day and got me in and out. It all started when we had a confirmed reservation at the Arden Way location for a small sedan and were told they had a Toyota Corolla. We said that was perfect. As instructed we called back at 1:30 the next day - this was a rental due to insurance claim - and a different person answered and said they would not take care of it we had to go through Rancho Corcova. When we got to the repair facility they notified Enterprise at Rancho Cordova and we were picked up by a very nice person. At Enterprise we were informed they had no Corollas or anything equivalent.....just small SUVs -- Rav 4 or Hyundai-we asked if they were sure and they confirmed no small sedans. We took the Rav4. It was not a great result -- we actually ended up with a problem in the parking lot where we caught part of their fence in the wheel well and when the manager made one attempt at freeing it the passenger side was damaged. We were driving when the situation was created, and we will submit to our insurance company, but feel if there had not been an issue with us getting the type of car originally requested and confirmed, this would never have happened, Then when I tried to reach Rancho office, I was on hold 25 minutes and corporate hung up on me. So much for customer service. We are returning the car today and will figure out transportation on our own. Never again rent from Enterprise. read more

Just want to shout out Kevin the agent that assisted me the entire time over two days, Trent the assistant gm of this location, Michael the branch manager of this location, and Van "the man" (apologies if I spelled any names wrong). Long story short, I was given a rental reservation by progressive. I showed up and was given a clean Kia forte. We did the walk and identified a lower plastic engine cover that was already documented as an issue and was hanging below the frame due to a missing or damaged bolt. Kevin mentioned it likely would be okay and since its documented there should not be any issues with extra costs. Unfortunately on the freeway at high speeds it started rubbing the ground and made contact with the road and sheared off and became pinned between the road and the remaining bolts and was making an awful sound. Immediately I called and talked to Trent who was kind and asked me to please come back right away if it was safe to do so. I came back the next morning right when they opened expecting the run around and to have to defend myself, but Trent and Kevin both met me and immediately worked toward a solution. Trent let me know right away they knew about this issue and there wont be any issues with responsibility or damage to the rental on my claim or bill. They asked if I would be okay if they removed the offending piece while I waited which I was, and they literally sat there and worked for about an hour and a half. Keep in mind this is not a service center so a group of good people were all on their hands and knees in slacks and shorts on the hot pavement trying to get me on my way using tools they found or put together from various rental repair kits. They successfully did, and I am writing this from my office with my rental in the parking lot. Big shout out. Nobody can control everything, but making sure to keep the relationship customer obsessed was very important to see for me. As long as service like this is normal I will go out of my way to rent from this enterprise location in the future. read more

I had to come here because my insurance company set me up with a rental car at this location after an insurance claim. The whole process of picking the car up, checking it out, and checking it back in again was great. My body shop, my insurance, and this location have an automatic system that automatically updates every time the repairs were pushed out and I needed an extension on the rental. Enterprise also shuttled me back and forth when needed. This I was extremely impressed with. They even gave me the make and model of the car I requested. I had a great experience with the assistant manager Julio who checked the car out to me, his customer service was great. The reason for my extremely poor review, is because of the manager Jordan. She is the most condescending, rude, power tripping person I have ever met in the rental car industry. I have rented from Hertz and Budget, and have never had the issue I experienced with her. I am a medically retired Air Force veteran and have handicap plates and a handicap placard due to this. I have a professionally trained service dog who comes with me everywhere to assist me. When I called to arrange the pickup of the car, I informed them that a service animal would be in the vehicle. The first thing they told me was "there needs to be minimal fur and if there's excessive fur you'll be charged". The federal Americans with Disabilities Act states that rental car companies CANNOT charge for service animal fur, they can only charge for damage caused by the animal, so this bothered me. I asked to speak to a manager, who was Jordan. I tried to explain that it's not legal to charge for service animal fur, only damage caused by the animal. I was told "it's for our customers with allergies". The ADA also states other people's allergies are not a valid reason for a service animal to be denied or charged extra fees because of this. When I told her that I didn't feel like this wasn't legal, and that I had a right to consult an attorney regarding this for advice because this was possibly discrimination and a violation of the law, she then copped a ginormous attitude and told me she would be calling her legal department for clarification. She never called me back. When I called to follow up, she maintained the huge, power tripping attitude she had all along and told me that because I "threatened to sue her" she didn't feel comfortable releasing a car to me and that she needed to wait for her "legal department" to get back to her again and okay her letting me rent the car. She also told me they would reach out to me. No calls from them, no follow up, nothing. So I call her again. It took me basically groveling and submitting to her shit, and insincerely apologizing to get her to release me my car that my insurance company had already arranged and paid for. Conveniently enough, after I did this, she magically didn't need to get clearance from her "legal department" and told me I could come pick the car up. I don't even think she called the "legal department" once and that's if they even existed, because they never called me once like she threatened and she never called me a single time to relay what they supposedly told her. I picked up my car and she didn't come up to the counter once to address any of these issues she supposedly had. She just wanted me to submit to her stupid power trip, which I did because if I didn't, I wouldn't be able to get to work or have any way to get around as my car was in the shop. I had no choice. I will never be back to this location, ever, and personally find it appalling that they treat disabled people like this, especially veterans. Jordan doesn't deserve to be a manager of anything but a fast food joint where she belongs. read more

I've been renting from Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Rancho Cordova quite a bit this year (almost monthly, if not more), and every experience has been wonderful. The customer service is always kind and efficient, and the cars are in great shape. I highly recommend renting from this location. Just be sure to reserve through the app rather than walking in, as their inventory can be limited during busy times. Making a reservation in advance is definitely the way to go! read more

My work and personal life requires me to rent cars once every couple of months. I have frequently rented through Enterprise for work (various airport to office/hotel) and had decent experiences. However, renting at this location was absolutely the worst experience I've ever had compared to all rental companies - AVIS, Hertz, SIXT. Few weeks ago my personal car was rear ended in an accident which the other party's insurance immediately accepted liability and arranged me for a car rental through Enterprise. The insurer had authorized a full-size sedan as my week long rental while my car is in the body shop. Shortly after the authorization, I received phone calls from this location to confirm my reservation, everything seems good on the phone. Until I arrived at this location in Rancho Cordova, waited over an hour after check in to get a car. When it was finally my turn, Enterprise's employee said to me "you got a complementary upgrade." I just said "okay" because I wasn't excited at all after that long wait - I just wanted to get a car and leave. I'm glad I wasn't existed because he took me directly to their Nissan Kicks on the lot - a subcompact SUV/hatchback. Apparently, going from a Nissan Altima/Chevy Malibu to a Nissan Kicks is considered an upgrade. Then I realized there isn't even a need to inspect the vehicle - damages EVERYWHERE. Large portion of paints missing all over front bumper, missing rear wheel hub, and minor scratches throughout the whole vehicle. I guess this is the condition that Enterprise considers to be acceptable as their rental fleet and even calls an upgrade. I could get a commuter car from Turo anywhere between 20-30 dollars a day and still expect the car to be in a better condition. I got inside the vehicle, it barely had a quarter of gas left in the tank - how am I supposed to know how much gas I should fill when I return the car so I don't either get charged or overfill the tank for Enterprise. I jokingly said to him "you call this an upgrade" and I was told "this is an SUV and it costs more than a full-size sedan" how freaking generous. I literally just left the body shop but learned this rental car that probably needs to go into the body shop more than my personal car. Enough is enough. This time I didn't have a choice since it was set up by the insurance company. Moving forward, I will be renting from other companies instead of Enterprise. Unfortunately, this type of condition/service is considered acceptable by Enterprise I will be more than happy to support other car rental companies. read more

The pick-up process was quick and painless even though it was over 100 degrees out. Customer service was awesome. We then had many mechanical problems with our rental during trip and Enterprise Roadside Assist arranged for cat swap at an airport which also went well. Enterprise staff from beginning to end were kind and efficient and we felt well taken care of as customers. The car troubles is on Mazda as it was a 2023 with low miles. Shame on you Mazda. I decided that I wanted to take a road trip down to Southern California. With enterprise being so close to home, I decided to book a car online and pick it up the day of my trip. Booking online was so quick and easy. The only minor complaint I had was the gas tank not being full when I got it. When I brought that up to an employee during my return, she happened to be the manager and kindly informed me that they could not reimburse me ( I returned the vehicle with a full tank) but they will comp me during my next rental. Overall, everything was smooth and my experience really proved to me that Hyundais are very reliable cars! read more

Overall, car was clean and ran with no issues. Tires were good (we had a rental here once where tires were nearly bald). The staff was nice and cheery overall as well. The only downside was This was the very first time I've had a rental car that was not at full tank of gas at pick up. It was at less than 1/4! The staff checking out the car did not even inform me of it either, neither did she ask about how we would like to pay for the gas at return. I had to call the office back to sort that out. That did at least go smoothly. We returned it at 3/4 full. read more

This particular Enterprise really were good to me from the very beginning. I was in a really bad car accident and needed a rental and they asked me if I ever thought about buying a car from them. I told the lady at the front desk that was helping me that I had thought about it but didn't know much about it. She then proceeded to introduce me to another rep who introduced himself and explained how the process worked. Afterwards the lady whom I was working with took me outside to my rental and we processed things and off I went for about two or three days with this SUV as a rental. My insurance called me and informed me I was only eligible for the car for another week which at that point I didn't know what to do because I still had not purchased a car yet. I received a phone call from Raymond at Enterprise whom I believe was returning my call from earlier in the day and we talked about potentially purchasing a vehicle and he asked when I could come by. I was free the next day so I made an appointment. I would say the rest is history but Raymond deserves so much more credit than that. The whole process lasted just two hours which is the quickest I've ever purchased a car. In that two hours Raymond gave me a lesson in finances that no car dealership has ever given me and I appreciated that education. He kept it real with me that an SUV that I was looking for may not be in my best interest financially at the time due to my current situation and the amount of miles I would normally put on a car. I told him I was open and that gave him room to work. Raymond gave me some options when we went out to the lot and I really liked the 2021 Nissan Sentra. After I test drove it, the paperwork began. However this was a car purchasing process like no other. Raymond gave me a bird's eye view of exactly what banks were willing to do business, what those banks were looking for, documentation, downpayment etc. There were no surprises as everything was on full display for me to make the best decision for myself. It's the best car experience I ever bad and the transparency and the lesson in personal finance was awesome. Afterwards I was able to purchase the 2021 Nissan Sentra and I've been very satisfied. This location used to be so professional, but the last car I rented with them had a front bumper that was flapping around , scratches, and a huge hole in the rug on the drivers side. ( I didn't notice the flapping bumper until I got home. ). I questioned the scratches at the time and the rental clerk told me that since I had bought the basic insurance covering the damage to the car, it wouldn't matter. Does this mean we shouldn't bother getting the extra insurance? The standards at this location have really fallen. read more

Evidently, you can only rent a car with a card that has a chip and in person. This information was never communicated to me. I dropped my car off for repairs, set up the rental through State Farm and was picked up. When I arranged the rental through State Farm, I was shown that there were options up to mid-size in the "approximate" $25 per day range my insurance covered. It also showed that enterprise would call me within 4 business hours of reserving the car. 24 hours later, I tried to call enterprise to figure out arrangements. The call was disconnected twice. I called state farm who was great about connecting me with enterprise and finalizing arrangements. I talked to a gentleman on the phone. He told me I would need to pay a deposit and approximately $5 per day. I was picked up at the collision center by a very friendly young man. And that's where any customer service ended. I didn't want the rental for the entire duration of the car repairs. Just 3 days since I was meeting my husband out of state. She had to get approval for dropping it off at the airport instead. Then she said the only one I could get is the smaller they offer. Ok. Then she said my total was approximately $60. I handed her my debit card. It didn't have a chip. I do not carry credit cards with me and had no reason to suspect I would need anything different for a rental car being paid for by insurance after being rear ended. This woman then said she talked to my husband and told him the requirements of a chip card. That was lie #1. I explained that my phone number was the only one listed. AND, he has no cell service. (He left last minute for a family funeral in a small town out of state). Then she said she talked to him before he left. That was lie #2. She still didn't have his number and the car was reserved AFTER he left. Then she said that she talked to me and told me. That was lie #3. I talked to a man with a much deeper voice. I asked if they could take a card over the phone. Nope. Only option was a chip in the card in hand. While standing here, a woman came in with her rental car having mechanical issues with her car. Oil and tire lights kept coming on. So. Maybe it was a blessing. As I continue to wait, another frustrated customer came in trying to understand the math they are selling him. I also get to listen to this very over staffed office discuss how they need customers, so they should put the easel out. But. It's raining. And ya know, their hair and stuff. read more

An update to my post on 10/9/16. I can't believe this is happening again. One of our vehicle was in an accident on 2/18/22 so we headed to our neighborhood Enterprise Rent-A-CAR to get a rental. My goto spot for personal rentals is this location off of Citrus. The company I work for also uses Enterprise in various locations. Anyhow, the issue that I finally got resolved working with Matt Hart mgr and area manager Shane from 2016 is back again. We walked in had a reservation from our insurance company asked to see some rentals and first thing we are told is that we have an unpaid bill of $60 + and we could not rent until it was paid. Unbelievable! I want to make mention this is nothing personal to the staff currently working in the office as they have no idea what transpired in 2016. The weeks I went through with management to get that strightened out in 2016. They apoloigized for all of the inconvenience and error and even had the accounting dept issue a refund check to us and now we get this 5 1/2 yrs later. The amount is still showing due on my account. How does that happen? This was sheer dissapointment! Honestly, I wanted to just take my business elewhere. However, with it being late on Friday and not knowing what the availability would be anywhere else we just paid the amount due biting our lip and rented a car. This may have been the last straw for any future business here. read more

I received a call the day before about what I needed to bring to rent a car, which I provided, with some effort since what I was told on the phone wasn't what the staff asked for when I arrived. Just when I think it's all settled, they ask me for 3 references. For what? I checked the email confirmation that lists what is required and there's nothing about giving them 3 references. The last thing I want is Enterprise contacting my family/friends/coworkers for any reason. I canceled my reservation for that reason. I got a rental car through my insurance. The first time, a year ago, I got a nice suv and it was quick. This time I made a reservation a day ahead of time. I showed up 45 minutes late and it still wasn't ready. Instead of an suv I got a Toyota Corolla with no hatchback like my car. I was told if I want an suv I need to pay $13 a day out of my own pocket for an accident not my fault for several weeks. The Corolla was not ready. They made me wait more than half an hour while they cleaned my car that was supposed to be ready and waiting over an hour ago.
