After finally being called, I was asked to sign the contract and was handed the keys without any proper explanation or vehicle walkthrough. When I checked the car, it was in very poor condition both inside and outside. The vehicle was not clean at all and did not meet basic rental standards. I immediately went back and requested an exchange, but I was told it was not possible. This completely wasted valuable time during a long weekend trip with my family. I also requested a supervisor's contact number to escalate the issue, but I was only given the same location number again: 813-653-0033. For reference, the receipt states the vehicle was rented to me by AH-NEJAH. If anyone from management is reviewing this, please contact me at ginjupallivgopinath@gmail.com because I would like to formally escalate this matter. Overall, very poor customer service and unacceptable vehicle condition. Definitely not the experience I expected from Avis.

We called Enterprise, and they advised us to exchange the vehicle at the PIE airport location. Unfortunately, our experience there was very disappointing. We were offered a sedan as a replacement--even though we had two car seats, luggage, and six people traveling. That simply wasn't a workable option. We were then sent back to Roadside Assistance, which was an incredibly frustrating and time-consuming experience. Eventually, we made our way to the Tampa Airport location, and I truly cannot say enough good things about the team there. By the time we arrived, we were exhausted and frustrated, but they completely turned our experience around. While they didn't have an identical replacement available, they took the time to show us three different options, patiently answered all of our questions, and made sure we left with a vehicle that worked for our family. The manager and staff were professional, kind, understanding, and incredibly accommodating. They took what had been a stressful situation and handled it with exceptional customer service. The employee then offered me a Buick Encore and assured me that it was both a midsize SUV and all-wheel drive. Since I had an eight-day trip ahead of me, I accepted it based on that information. Spoiler alert: it was neither. The Buick Encore is not a midsize SUV, and it was not AWD. After spending eight days in a vehicle that wasn't what I reserved, I mentioned it to the same employee upon returning the car. His response? "Who told you that?" Well... you did. At that point, I was told that reservations are not guaranteed and was handed the billing department's phone number to sort it out myself. The bright spot in this experience was Hertz customer service over the phone. The representative confirmed that I was, in her words, "thoroughly correct" and acknowledged that I had not been given the class of vehicle I reserved. I did receive a small credit, which I appreciated. I understand that inventory changes and substitutions sometimes have to happen. What I don't appreciate is being told I'm getting a midsize AWD SUV when I'm not, especially when I'm about to head out on an eight-day road trip. So, if you reserve a specific class of vehicle at this location, you may want to double-check exactly what you're being handed the keys to before driving away. They want me to work with their vendor who manages their charge but no one is willing to take ownership of mistakes they made. Even their supervisors send back generic emails. We dropped our car off at the collision shop and there was a shuttle service that goes between the collision shop and Enterprise. The shuttle drove us to the Enterprise right down the road to get the rental car. It was extremely convenient. This particular Enterprise is a very busy location. It's actually located in a very busy strip mall as well! We had about an hour wait to get our rental car after we checked in. The car was fine and we had no complaints. The people working at this location were all pleasant to deal with.

I asked if I could come in too and was allowed but was told not to steal anything. Tyriek was late so I had to wait. I could go on and on but I think everyone knows where it went from here. Wrong car, no fuel option, and his overall attitude! He's an assistant manager? Really!! I couldn't believe the odds. We frantically called every company we could think of, including zip car. No success. A rep at Hertz suggest Econo Rentals. We have them a call and we spoke with Kerianne (from Elizabeth,NJ) she was so patience and kind to us. We were so stressed and kept calling on our way to make sure the car was still available. Every time we spoke to her she set our nerves at ease and could not be more pleasant. She truly understands hospitality and exuding genuine care. She's great and so is the company. Couldn't be more grateful!
