We chose this place because it had 4 stars. Sometimes stars and previous ratings don't equate to your own standards or expectations. Envy Nails & Spa was a perfect example. We found the location on the Yelp app and called to see if they had openings for a group of 4 people. They said, "yes" and that we should head on over. We were only across the street and arrived in under 3 minutes. The location was spacious enough, with plenty of open pedicure chairs (I don't know if there's a technical name for them, so I shall call them 'pedi-chairs'). Unfortunately, there were only 3 people working, and they were all occupied with clients. After around 10 minutes, we were invited to sit in the pedi-chairs. None of the employees were available yet, so we continued to wait for around 10 more minutes. During that time, they began to fill our foot buckets. I haven't seen another place where the buckets are filled elsewhere and carried in. That was fine, but the temperature for my foot bucket was near scalding hot. Everyone else in my group thought I was just being a baby and having a good laugh (including the employees). I got up and felt the water temperature in everyone else's buckets and it was warm at most. Mine truly was dangerously hot. I didn't put my feet in for several minutes so that it would cool down a bit. The actual pedicure looked like this: soaking my feet in blue hot water, clipping of the toenails (no filing for smoothness - see picture of jagged edges on my son's toes), I guess the rubbing of lotion for 30 seconds was supposed to simulate a massage, and then a scrub pad was rubbed on the bottom of my feet for nearly a full half minute per foot. And that's all. Yeah, not very impressive. I looked over at my wife and at my son's girlfriend. They got some kind of special torture...uh, I mean treatment where a hot towel was placed on their feet and lower legs, and then the guy smacked their legs for a few seconds. I don't know what technique that was, but I'm glad I didn't have to endure the leg smacking. It didn't look relaxing. It looked violent. The other complaint, my wife and my son's girlfriend showed many designs to the girl who painted their nails. She kept telling them "no" that she couldn't do a design like that. They ended up settling on something very basic. My wife got plain colors and a couple of flowers on her toes. My son's girlfriend wanted stars and stripes since the 4th of July is just around the corner. The stripes on her toes look like random slashes. They were supposed to be straight lines, like the ones on our flag. Sad. The "special" price was $22 for a pedicure. I left still wanting a pedicure. I wanted the true foot rubdown that I came to understand and expect as standard in all of the other places I've been to. I wanted the uncomfortable part to happen where they dig under my toenails. Why? I don't know. I just got used to it as part of the process. But This place didn't really 'take care' of my feet like I thought they would...especially with the 4-star rating I saw. Hopefully my review will help put this place into perspective for those who haven't been there before. I think the reviews were mostly written by regulars who haven't really been other places. That's nice for customers to remain loyal, but it kind of misleads first timers like me. read more

Yes sometimes they may not seem as welcoming, but they've never been rude to me. It's never busy when I go. I like to call ahead of time and ask them how long the wait is and they've always been upfront and honest on time management. This last time the woman who did my pedicure was awesome! She took her time, massage was good, and very clean lines. However, there is some room for improvement with the foot scrub. The time before was another woman and she was just ok. The man who did my gel manicure did not impress. He cut me TWICE during the manicure and didn't even apologize. He just continued as if it didn't happen. The last time another man was drilling off my gels and went too deep which left a permanent mark under my nail! Some people just have no concern for a woman's pain threshold. One top of that he nearly bruised me arms with the amount of pressure he put on them during the massage. :((( I thought manicures were supposed to be enjoyable. I will specifically ask for someone else next time. Overall I'm torn. Some people deserve 5 stars. Some deserve 1. So a solid 3 stars for now. Prices are average with $25 for gels $25 for pedicure. However, the girl didn't even get all my polish off my toes before putting on the gel polish - which was totally visible through the new polish! So tacky and unprofessional!
