WOW! I've been hearing about this place for awhile and decided to try it. First off, I was overwhelmed by the friendly greeting we received. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE shouted hello and welcome! The menu is a mix of vegan and non-vegan items. The Chicken Florentine was amazing, hearty and totally satisfying, my wife had a Sunrise Bagel sandwich and basically built her own with a choice of Cheddar Jalapeño bagel and Roasted Garlic cream cheese, it was spot on! My 4 y/o is fussy but Leslie suggested a half grilled cheese with a cup of tomato basil soup, she ate it ALL! Even our dog was treated with enthusiasm with treats and lots of kind words! We wanted wine to take home and the owner, Robin, was very knowledgeable with great service and suggestions. It's very apparent this team enjoys what they do, the people who come in and sharing their knowledge to provide an over the top experience. Overall this is a 10 out of 10 gem tucked away in a quaint neighborhood with great energy and a cool vibe. Not a fan. After waiting nearly 20 minutes to place an order we went outside and sat at one of their picnic tables. The couple that ordered at the same time as us received their breakfast bagel sandwiches within about ten minutes. They finished eating and we were still waiting. We saw other couples that ordered well after us get their orders as well. We went in to get an update on our food and one of the cooks angrily looked up and yelled that she was working on it. About another ten minutes went by before we got our food. The roast beef panini special was great. I on the other hand was not as pleased with my sandwich. I had the turkey bacon and egg bagel and it was strange. It was overly sweet, like the bacon and egg had been seasoned with sugar. Needless to say, I did not enjoy it. I also think they are way overpriced. The menu seemed to be quite vegan/vegetarian focused which isn't usually my go to. So if you prefer vegetarian joints and don't mind waiting forever and paying too much for a sandwich, then this is you place. read more

In general this business is amazing. Until it isn't. Today I went to get dinner while walking my dog and ordered the nova lox. I walked back home, sat down to eat and to my surprise THE MAIN INGREDIENT the nova lox salmon was missing. This is my SECOND bad experience with this location THIS WEEK. 4 days ago i went in again while walking my dog on lunch break so I figured why not grab some lunch. All I asked the cashier to do was to wrap my sandwich in parchment paper so I can throw it in my bag while I head back to work and not have to worry about the sandwich falling apart on me. The cashier looked at me like I had 3 heads and was REFUSING to wrap my sandwich which I did not think was a extravagant request. She asked me 3 times back to back if I wanted the sandwich or not which I found weird and I explained I did, I simply wanted it wrapped. After MUCH ATTITUDE and side eye as she looked at one of her coworkers who I believe is the manager the kitchen made the food. Her manager then proceeded to step into the kitchen to hand me my food and also give me attitude when she gave me my order as I asked if everything was in the one small bag they handed me. I truly don't know what the issue is especially when I'm willing to order at $14 bagel AND I always leave a tip. I personally am a Hispanic male and to be frank I feel like I am being racially profiled and targeted because this is a predominantly white neighborhood. I completely understand that it is a small business however you should treat ALL OF YOUR PATRONS the same especially when they are willing to pay inflated prices AND TIP. I still ate the bagel because it was my dinner HOWEVER it is unacceptable that THE MAIN INGREDIENT in your food is missing. I will be returning tomorrow to see if I can at least get a nova lox WITH THE SALMON IN IT as a replacement for tonight. I will post again over my experience tomorrow to see if the business will at least have the common decency to replace my food. read more

So excited to finally visit this spot. I live downtown in Modera and am so happy to have found this place. It's about a 10 minute walk for us. My friend and I stopped in for bagels and we each also had some chicken salad. Everything was really flavorful and quality. I'm looking forward to coming back and having some wine and cheese on the patio. I usually judge a place based on their wine offerings so this definitely goes to the top of the list. Wow I'm pleasantly surprised by this place! I knew I'd like the vibe and the ambiance of the place based on the decor and the patio layout but I didn't expect to like the vegan food as much as I did! We split a bagel with the garlic chive spread and a sunrise bagel. The turkey bacon was actually super flavorful and the texture was very nice, not at all rubbery like some turkey bacons out there. Had a nice maple taste to it too. The mimosa was so yummy, the perfect ration of champagne and orange juice that tasted super fresh. My husband is a coffee person and he loved the cold brew on tap with half and half but I would recommend getting it with the sweetener they recommend, vanilla almond creamer. I think we'll definitely be here again, it's almost 12 on a Sunday morning and we love all the pups, the people and the shade at this time of day is perfect to sit outside even though it's 90 something degrees outside. Their tables all have umbrellas that keep the black furniture cool and bonus, their chairs outside are SO comfortable. Even with no line, it always take between 7-10 minutes before you are ever acknowledged at the register. 3 times in 2 months and it's the same scenario every time. Whew this place is expensive! I'm going to give 5 stars because I love supporting small local business. The staff and owners are extremely friendly whenever we come in. The quality is really great. My only issue is the prices. Specifically with the lattes. It's eight dollars for a double latte. And then everything is an up charge $.45 for a sweetener, and additional charges if it's a different type of alternative milk. Gosh forbid you want an extra shot of espresso in your latte- that's three extra dollars. At eight dollars for a regular size 16oz latte, I would expect to get whatever flavor and milk of my choice. We love this place, but find that we cannot visit as frequently as we would like just because the cost does not make sense compared to local coffee shops in the area. If the pricing was a little bit more friendly, we'd be here every day. read more

This is my first time trying Eola General for lunch and -- yum! I ordered the Eola Turkey Club on Asiago Herb bagel with Jalapeño Pimento Cheese, no tomato add pickled onion. It's delicious, the turkey bacon is a good texture for someone who likes crispy pork bacon. The jalapeño pimento has little bits of jalapeño but could use a little more heat. The bagel is so soft, like I could sleep on it soft. The price ($14 through Uber) is so worth it for the portion and they give you a side of seasoned chips, I think the seasoning is tajin, it's so good. I also ordered the Matcha Lemonade which ultimately is why this review isn't 5 stars. It's a little too sweet for my liking with no discernible lemonade nor matcha flavor. Being from Tallahassee, I went alone to EOLA. It was such a great experience, I had to come a second time! Everyone we're so helpful since I expressed that it was my first time! I initially came for the bagel with the flamin' hot Cheetos spread, but I went with the Brunch & was able to customize the ingredients! The ingredients were fresh & it was beyond satisfying! It will keep you full for like 6 hours! Their bagels are HUGE!! For my second visit, I was being adventurous and the staff really helped me out a lot with my preferences. This place is extremely cute tucked into a very quaint neighborhood. Both my boyfriend and I got "the bagel" and I was able to get it on the gluten free bread. We also got a coconut cold brew. This place is a GEM!!! The Employees and the Manager Robin go above and beyond to make Every single person who walks in the door feel welcome. They Strive for Perfection and hit the mark every time! With that being said I unfortunately was witness the other day to a patron who was obviously under the influence of drugs! She was disruptive, rude and totally out of control! She was holding up the line , on the phone with her bank arguing because she didn't have funds to pay for her purchase! She was yelling using foul language and completely inappropriate while there were families within ear shot! The cashier respectfully asked her to take her phone call outside until she could clear up the issue. Well all Hell broke loose!! The F words were running rampant! So sad that anyone who was there had to be subject to such a disrespectful, rude and complete disgrace of a human! The person then posted a review of the situation that was a complete fabrication of the facts! Clearly there are 2 sides to every story, but as an unbiased bystander this is clearly retaliation against a local shop who deserves applause for handling this situation with dignity and Grace. read more

That is worth the two stars. Also love the natural wine program. But I tried the breakfast bagel and the roast beef and black garlic sandwich. The bagel was the better of the two but at $9 its a rip off. It probably needs to sit between $5-6. The roast beef was very disappointing. As someone who has made their own black garlic at home and would love to do it all the time if it didn't smell terrible I was super excited for it! The beef tasted like bad crock pot beef and the garlic was barely to be found on the skimpily portioned sandwich. All for the low, low, artisanal price of $14. It's particularly nice to see local Juice Bar offerings in the fridge. The Green Tomato sandwich and The Bagel are menu standouts. The ok: Sides and chips could use more flavor. Potato salad is missing something. Maybe salt? Something richer? Fruit salad is always a little off. Last time I wondered if the pineapples were canned. Slaw is watery. This magnificent little place recently opened in my neighborhood and in all, I can say it's the perfect addition to our street. Myself, roommate, boyfriend, neighbors and other friends we have brought there have had nothing but positive things to say about Eola General. The wine and beer selection are on point and all within extremely reasonable price points - we definitely like our wine ;). There are eggs and some veggies if you need them in a jiffy. The food, at least for The Bagel, egg salad sandwich, melon salad, daily salad and boiled peanuts those which we have tried so far, have been absolutely delectable. Further mentioning, their variety of coffees and pastries are easy for a morning or afternoon pick-me-up. For the cherry on top, the staff has been more than friendly and kind to us. They make you feel part of the family while you're there - greeting you with a smiling face and engage in tiny conversations. Even the single time we had a complaint about something, one of the owners talked to us himself and made amends of the situation. Really a great group of people! Friendly staff and great selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. MoonPies, bags of grits, and homemade soaps also give the place that old school corner store feel. My first visit here since Handy Pantry, I thought the sandwiches came with a bagel, not on a bagel, and got a turkey club on cinnamon raisin, which proved interesting. But even with that sort of mishap, you really can't go wrong because everything is delicious.The bean salad even convinced me I was incorrect, I actually don't hate black-eyed peas. This is my first time visiting Eola General and it did impress. It has a great outdoor seating with picnic tables and much shade from the umbrellas. I noticed people brining their dogs and families which made it feel very comfortable and casual. The set up inside is very nice and and chic. It has a market/cafe feel, where you can pick up some produce, cheese, and wine but also sit down to eat quality food (also people working on laptops). I got " The Bagel!" And subbed bacon for more veggies with a side of potato salad and chips. It was very delicious and the portion was enough to fill you up! I also tried their hot coffee from Wavelength coffee co. and have to say that it was delicious and at a decent price for $2.50. Pleasant experiences, nothing to say other than a "corkage fee" is standard with this type of establishment (take GB's on Virginia Ave), and that I wish Yelp let you comment on other reviews :-) Edit: a corkage fee is standard and to be expected if visiting for the first time, b/c they sell to you their beverages at the actual retail cost (as if you were going to any other liquor/grocery store). You could take it home and enjoy there, or you could have the staff open it and serve it you in their glassware, but at the point, you're being "served," and the cost you pay, covers your presence and covers any service you experience from the purchased beverage. I was so excited to try out this place especially since it's within walking distance. I ended up driving and was saddened by the fact that there is no parking. So I was worried about street parking. I walked inside and was not greeted by any of the four employees. I waited a few minutes hoping to ask someone of where I parked was okay. No one tried to make eye contact or offer any help.
